It feels like so many people have visited Disney recently!

Anyways, since it's the perfect time for themed outfits, here is the Alice inspired outfit I wore to Magic Kingdom back in May 2022. The frilly lace details on the apron are my favourite ☺

Cinderella castle still had its WDW 50th anniversary decor at the time, but I think it has since been all removed earlier this year.

It was another hot, tiring day as we tried to hit all the notable rides. See last pic for "booking it to Space Mountain after rope drop".

being a theme park fan is so embarrassing because here’s what i’m angry about today. y’all remember when murphy the dragon caught on fire at disneyland during fantasmic?

yes so the show has not been running since april when this happened, and i suppose it was implied that murphy would not be returning, but that did not mean people didn’t have hopes that another dragon would return. perhaps something closer to the wdw dragon, which is considered the inferior version but a dragon nonetheless. perhaps a dragon that does not breathe fire. perhaps a dragon that breathes smoke or something. unfortunately, the solution was no dragon, but to operate in permanent b-mode, which is put maleficent on a big pedestal

now here’s the part that gets me. maleficent CATCHES THE LAKE ON FIRE

i am no engineer but from an outsider’s perspective this seems about equal amounts risky as having a dragon that breathes fire, and again i don’t even need a dragon that breathes fire, i just want a big dragon. optimists are saying, perhaps the dragon will return as part of the 70th anniversary offerings? possibly, but do you remember wdw’s 50th anniversary a few years ago? probably not, because nothing much happened! good bye murphy. good bye dragon.

Incidentally, anyone who would like to see an epic Disney crossover story, my sister wrote a fic for Disneyland's 50th anniversary (in 2005), and it's very good.

Crowns of the Kingdom

Granted, it largely caters to Disneyland (specifically, not WDW) nerds, but it also includes a lot of characters who existed by that point, including Oswald. It's a lot of fun and very well-written. I recommend it.

Chapter 1 is an explanation about what this fic is all about and why it's such a big deal, to give people who weren't around or didn't know a little bit of background.
