BURLINGTON, Vermont - The mother of a Palestinian college student who was shot in Vermont now says her son is paralyzed. Elizabeth Price previously said her son, Brown University student Hisham Awartani, may not be able to move his legs for the rest of his life after the shooting left him with a bullet in his spine. Now she said he's partially paralyzed. "Normal functioning is something that we have no idea if he will be able to regain that," said Price, who told WBZ TV she was "shocked" upon learning her son was shot while walking with two friends in Burlington over Thanksgiving weekend. Price said her husband couldn't safely travel through Israel, forcing the family to find another way to get to the United States to be with Awartani from their home in the West Bank. "We had to travel 16 hours before we could get on a plane from Jordan to Burlington," said Price. "We arrived and saw my son and then it was all worth it."

BOSTON - The body of missing Whitman woman Margaret "Maggie" Mbitu was found in a car at a Logan Airport garage Thursday, according to Massachusetts State Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. Investigators are looking for her partner, 40-year-old Kevin Kangethe, of Lowell, who left Boston on a flight to Kenya.
Sources told WBZ-TV's I-Team Mbitu was stabbed and left in the passenger seat of the car.
Police have an arrest warrant for Kangethe, charging him with the 31-year-old's murder, authorities said. They are working with Kenyan authorities to find him.
Mbitu was reported missing by her family on Monday. She was last seen Monday night, leaving her job at BAMSI in Halifax. The company said Mbitu was a nurse who worked in their group homes for more than ten years, helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
"She was warm, caring, and loved by everyone she worked with, both staff and the people she cared for in our group homes. As an agency, we are in mourning over the loss of such an amazing young (woman)," executive vice president Ulea Grace Lago said in a statement.
Mbitu's coworkers had posted a flyer on Facebook, praying for her safe return.
It's heartbreaking news for family friend Jane Wambu who said Maggie was like a daughter.
"It's just very, very, unfortunate that somebody would choose to do what they have done," Wambu told WBZ. "It's definitely such a great loss to the parents, to her relatives, and to the community at large and I would say to the nation."
The FBI has an international operations office in Kenya's capital, Nairobi. Former FBI special agent Jennifer Coffindaffer says it's likely agents are already communicating with local authorities to track down Kangethe and bring him back to face charges.
"The United States has an extradition treaty with Kenya, so things look very good in terms of Kenyan authorities cooperating," Coffindaffer said.
The I-Team first reported that police issued a "be on the lookout" alert for the car at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and found it overnight parked inside the airport's Central Parking garage. Sources tell the I-Team that investigators are piecing together a timeline using video surveillance.
"We're just praying that the Lord may give the family peace and above everything that her culprit, this person may be arrested," Wambu said.

📸: Spencer Grant
I've found Dutch newspaper articles who name Jerry Rubin and also other Yippies (all from 1970). I thought they were interesting, so I tried to translate them to the best of my abilities!
🔗: https://leiden.courant.nu/issue/LD/1970-11-12/edition/0/page/11 Newspaper Leidsch Dagblad Date Thursday, November 12, 1970
Frost-show disrupted Jerry Rubin must leave England
LONDON (AP) – The American Yippie (political hippie), Jerry Rubin, who thoroughly disrupted the David Frost broadcast last Saturday night along with 20 comrades who he was interviewing, will have to leave the country before the end of this week. The British Home Secretary announced that Rubin has a one-week residence permit. On Frost’s show, intruders had knocked over equipment, used obscene language, and also said that they used narcotics. However, the police did not detect this. None of the group have been arrested.

🔗: https://leiden.courant.nu/issue/LLC/1970-02-21/edition/0/page/1?query= Newspaper Leidse Courant Date Saturday, February 21, 1970 Maximum sentence in Chicago trial
CHICAGO (Reuter-AP) – Judge Julius [Hoffman] has sentenced five of the seven defendants in the highly publicized Chicago trial to five years in prison (the maximum sentence) and a fine of about 18,000 guilders. In addition, all defendants must pay the costs of the proceedings.
The five are David Dellinger, Thomas Hayden, Rennie Davis, Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. They were all charged with crossing state lines with the intent to incite a riot’. The two other defendants, John Friones and Lee Weiner, were acquitted of all charges. Earlier this week, the jury acquitted the defendants of the first count of the charge: plotting a conspiracy to incite riots at the 1968 Democratic Party convention.

WBZ found officers who were already the subject of news stories related to their alleged conduct. One of them is Salem State University Interim Captain Stephen Turcotte. Turcotte was the subject of a 2012 WBZ I-Team investigation. Salem State settled the lawsuit against him accusing him of sexual harassment and gender discrimination. Turcotte refused to comment at the time.
Salem state is my alma mater. I graduated in 2012. Gotta say, it's unsurprising sadly. The cops at ssu are assholes. They used to ride their fucking segways INTO our buildings. Meanwhile we wouldn't let students even bring their bikes in. Fucking jerkoffs.
#acab for life#ssu not actually working to defend students or make a safe environment for them? SHOCKER.#working in res life i got some of the tea of that place but clearly they keep a lot under wraps

I'm the dish the TV show. They should be going through iheartradio. They wanna look or listen to I should say and they can divide it between each of them.Different stations from around the country.. Getting a feel for what's trending. And so they can turn it from voice to text and turn it into a keyword search or Once they turn it into text they can scan for the most common comments....
So they would have all the transcripts of the shows turning toward docs. And then they would scan each of the transcripts to see what comes up the most. They can do a specific search, but this isn't a breakdown. How many times did they mention John Legend during a show? Then they can look at the direct comments of what they said about John Legend. But this will give them all the different trending content...
To count the number of times each word appears in a Word document, you can use the Find and Replace feature.
Open the Find and Replace dialog box.
In the Find what field, enter the word or phrase you want to count.
In the Replace with field, enter a space.
Click the Find All button.
Word will find all instances of the word or phrase and replace them with a space.
The number of instances of the word or phrase will be displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the window.
Here are some additional tips for counting words in a Word document:
You can use the Find and Replace feature to count the number of times a specific word appears in a document, or you can count the number of times all words appear in a document.
To count the number of times all words appear in a document, simply leave the Find what field blank.
You can use the Find and Replace feature to count the number of times a word or phrase appears in a specific section of a document. To do this, select the section of the document you want to count before you open the Find and Replace dialog box.
You can use the Find and Replace feature to count the number of times a word or phrase appears in a specific range of pages in a document. To do this, select the range of pages you want to count before you open the Find and Replace dialog box.
Then they can pay each of their shows directly for the content they use. So they would set up a deal with iheartradio. The reason I mentioned them is they have a 20 something 30, something and teenage. Demographics, that's extremely big. And people in these age groups are more interested in what's trending....

In Illinois, you can file a civil lawsuit for intentional infliction of emotional distress (IIED) if your spouse's behavior is outrageous or reckless and intended to cause distress. To win an IIED lawsuit, you must prove:
You experienced actual emotional pain
Your distress is directly connected to your spouse's behavior
Your life has been significantly impacted by your spouse's behavior

O'Flaherty Law
Illinois Adultery Laws - Does Cheating Impact Alimony ...
Feb 12, 2024 — One legal alternative available in the face of infidelity is filing civil lawsuits for intentional infliction of emotional distress (IIED) when a spouse cheated. An IIED claim can be filed if the spouse's behavior was notably outrageous or reckless and was intended to cause distress. To win an IIED lawsuit, the plaintiff must demonstrate actual emotional pain, prove a direct connection between their distress and the spouse's behavior, and the significant impact it had on their life.
A jury will consider a variety of evidence when determining the amount of damages to award, including:
The plaintiff's mental anguish and emotional distress
The plaintiff's reputation has been injured
The plaintiff has lost support
The plaintiff has lost consortium, or the marital fellowship of the other spouse
The quality of the marriage before the third party's interference
In general, a jury is likely to award more damages if the evidence shows the spouses had a good relationship before the affair.
You can also sue for criminal conversation or alienation of affection, which can compensate you for damages, including emotional distress. To win a lawsuit based on alienation of affection, you must prove:
You and your spouse were married and there was underlying affection between you
The love and affection in the marriage was destroyed
The defendant directly caused the affection between the spouses to be destroyed
