Listening to the DVD commentaries for Society of the Blind Eye and here's a really interesting bit from Alex:
“Ford as somebody who lost Stan is kinda looking for—even though he rejected his brother, he kinda needs, he needs that other person, & he tried to find that in this kinda sweet prodigy [Fiddleford] & he just pushed him too far.”
and god.... ford?? tried to fill that gap in his heart when he rejected stan with someone else? almost sounds like a stancest fic, cuz literally where do we even see that happen??

trying to replace stan with people who remind him of him even??
that he'll keep looking for it no matter howw long??
god it's like he really needs someone by his side no matter what, and the only person who could really fill that gap
the only one who could EVER give him what he needs the most

is Stan😭
#trying this again to be more legit dudjdud#also bunny lemme used her photos lmfao#BUT YEAH HOLY SHIT#THAT COMMENTARY#WAS SOOO NUTS FOR ALEX TO JUST DROP#i love it sm#this is so good#stancest

Sooo what about quackity with a latin s/o and they speak spanish when they are with their friends cause they think they won't understand, maybe quackity gets a little cheesy or something? And maybe somebody else actually understand what they're saying (maybe Sapnap have been practicing or Niki, cause I think she does understand a little bit spanish) and quackity gets really embarrassed when he realizes they understand.
I really suck at explaining, sorry, but love ur writing ❤️
play with? quackity!

synopsis! oh couples and their disgusting public displays of attention, it's unfortunate for alex and y/n their friends understand español ...
read me! likes, feedbacks, and especially reblogs are highly appreciated; come talk to me if you wanna repost my writings on other sites please. hi beloved anon!! i apologize in advance if there any mistranslations i barely know any spanish barely passed those tests >< but thank you for appreciation of my work enough to send in your desired imagine, much love from me barb <33 // send more requests here!
word count! 0.5k

the gang met up consisting of quackity, y/n, karl, sapnap, niki, and minx! they had agreed to meet up at a bowling alley and proposed to even stream for fun like they always do! the gang all chipped in money so they can finally bowl and so they did. chat was easily amazed with how much all these streamers... sucked at bowling, tweets about it blowing up and clipped to those famous clickbaiting clip channels. however there was one clip that made everyones jaw drop... it was minx's turn to try getting the first strike since no ones been able to done it; literally the first one who'll be able to take down all the pins get bragging rights and everyone wanted just that. swinging the ball minx tried to find the angle to perfectly strike everything and yet she failed.. Ls flooded chat, but really the chat had been filled with Ls since as been told before.. NOBODY HAS STRIKED and everyone was off their game, but it was then y/n's turn and finally.. A STRIKE! they jump up and down happily, quackity joining them but stopping as y/n kiddingly flips him and the rest of the gang off in false arrogance. y/n had the ultimate bragging rights, "¿no soy simplemente brillante, mi amor?" they ask quackity – a smug smirk displayed on their face. "si claro mi amor" quackity giggled returning y/n's smirk with his trademark cutie smile. everyone else groaned at the cheesiness and the couple just blew raspberries at them, the gang except y/n and quackity simultaneously roll their eyes in bitterness. the game continued and fortunately a few of them striked like sapnap did twice and karl once, niki outdid them by three – they played for many rounds and chat was completely entertained with the perfectly ratioed points each of the gang got with y/n having the most and quackity getting the least, everyone wondered how these two lovebirds found one another but the way they looked at each other made them happy quackity and y/n did. the play was coming to an end, and with the camera panned to y/n and their lover – it happened, the most viral clip of the lovebirds' career. "absolutamente lo mataste hoy, t/n. tal vez más tarde esta noche puedas jugar con mi-" quackity was about to joke but was cut off by nikis laughter. "oh my god quackity,,, i don't know how i understood that, but please don't continue" she says in between fits of giggles – "what did he say??!" karl asked interested, minx and sapnap joining in with curiosity. y/n sighed before answering: "i don't know guys, but he invited me to play with his-"
"PLAY WITH DEEZ NUTS Y/N OOOOOHHHH LETTSSSGOOO CHATT" he yelled, everyone in chat OOOHHHing and everyone chimed in to – y/n only can be found facepalming with a smile on her face. and after the last stupid attempt at a strike, the gang left the alley and went their ways as the stream ended. y/ns phone blown with millions of notifications telling them about how they got deez nutsd by their own boyfriend.

♫ JULIE AND THE PHANTOMS APPRECIATION WEEK ♫
DAY 5 | Write a fic focused on friendship/found family.
Summary: 5 things Julie learns about her boys and 1 thing they tell her.
[[Read on Ao3]]
1. Reggie can surf Julie walked into the studio to find Luke and Alex whispering furiously to each other while glancing at Reggie every few seconds. Reggie was obliviously working on tweaking the melody to 'Home Is Where My Horse Is' hoping it would convince Luke to finally put it in their setlist rotation. "You distract him," Alex whispered, "I'll go get it." "Are you sure?" Alex nodded, "Yeah, yeah, I'll be quick. 15 minutes tops, Willie says he can get it to me by 3. It's quarter to now."
"Okay, okay," Luke sighed, "Don't break it." Alex gave Luke a disappointing look before poofing out with a huff. Julie walked up behind Luke and tapped him on the shoulder, "What are you two whispering about?" "Julie!" Luke jumped at the contact and spun around, "How long have you been standing there?" Julie shrugged, "Not long, but my curiosity has peaked. What were you talking about and why can't Reggie know." "Shhh," Luke hissed, covering her mouth with his hands and glancing over to the other ghost, "It's his birthday today, we got him a present." Julie frowned as she pushed Luke's hands away, "It's Reggie's birthday? Why didn't you tell me, I feel bad I haven't got him anything." Luke waved off her concerns, "It's all good, we weren't sure if he wanted to acknowledge it so we haven't really said anything yet. But Reggie mentioned something to Alex this morning and we wanted to see if we could make it happen." "Tell me what you need me to do," Determination burned in Julie's eyes, she was going to help out. "Alex will be back soon," Luke smiled at the shorter girl, "We just got to keep Reggie busy for a few more minutes. Alex will poof outside the studio with our present and let us know when to cover Reggie's eyes." "Right," Julie nodded, she grabbed onto Luke and dragged him over to where Reggie was sitting, "Let's do this." Reggie smiled brightly when the other two sat down next to him and spent the next few minutes working on his song. Luke had to admit that the song had potential. At the 10 minute mark, Luke's head shot up when he heard Alex poof back. Alex poked his head around the door and gestured for Luke to join him outside. "Back in a sec," Luke shot to his feet and pointed to Julie, "Julie, cover his eyes, don't let him peek." Reggie frowned at Luke's order and looked to Julie for answers. But Julie gave Luke a thumbs up as he poofed to Alex and smiled back at Reggie before placing her hands over his eyes. "Don't worry," Julie spoke softly to Reggie, "It's something good." Julie's eyes widened as she watched Luke and Alex haul in a surfboard. 'What the hell,' She thought to herself as they stopped in front Reggie, huge smiles on both of their faces. Luke nodded to Julie to remove her hands. She did so, still confused with the present. "Happy birthday, dude!" Luke and Alex shouted together, as they displayed the surfboard between the two of them. Reggie's jaw dropped at the sight of the board, he jumped to his feet in excitement. "Dude," Reggie gasped, running his hands along the red pattern on the top of the board, "Where did you get this? How did you get this?" "Do you like it?" Julie asked. "Yeah, yeah, it looks gnarly. But how?" Reggie looked up at his friends, questions wanting to be answered. "To answer both questions," Alex smiled, "Willie knows a guy." "We thought you missed going out into the water, so ta da," Luke bounced on his toes. "And it's mine? Like to keep?" "Yeah dude," Alex laughed, "Willie says it's all good, he worked out a trade. So no worries." Reggie gripped the edges of the board, his eyes shining brightly, "I got to try it out, Julie," He turned to face her, board still ripped tightly in his hands, as if he was afraid it would disappear, "Can we find out what the surf is like?" "Oh yeah sure," Julie the shock slowly disappeared as she pulled out her phone and quickly googled a surf watch site, "I didn't know you surfed Reggie. Are you any good?" "Reggie's house used to be on the beachfront, before it got turned into a bike shop" Luke explained, "If he wasn't practising with us, he would be in the surf." "Burning in the sun like I don't know what," Alex smiled, "At least you won't have to worry about that now." "Yeah," Reggie distractly agreed, before mumbling to himself, "I need board shorts." "Got you sorted dude," Luke pulled out a pair of black board shorts with red piping down the side out from behind his back, "Did you think we'd leave you high and dry?" Reggie cheered, placed his board into Alex’s hands and took the board shorts from Luke's outstretched hand, "You guys are the best!" Julie's eyes widened in shock as Reggie started to change in the middle of the room. Quickly she closed her eyes and turned her back. "Reggie!" She hissed, "Don't change in front of me." "Dude," Disappointment filled Alex's voice, "Not cool." "Sorry Julie," Julie could hear the grin in Reggie's voice, "I got excited." "We could tell." Julie looked back down at her phone, "Well good news, the surf is good." "Awesome!" Julie heard Reggie poof away. She slowly turned back around and found only Luke and Alex standing in the studio with a pile of clothes on the floor. "That went well. He seemed to love it." "Dude," Luke turned to Alex and smiled, "We did good." "Totally," Alex returned the smile.

2. The contents of Alex's fanny pack
Julie watched from the doorway as Alex searched throughout the studio for something. Clothes and books went flying as the blonde looked.
"Whatcha looking for?"
Alex jumped at the sound of Julie's voice. He spun around to face her, one of Luke's shirts clutched tightly in his hands.
"Aren't you supposed to be at school?" Alex blinked in confusion.
Julie shrugged as she walked towards the couch to sit down, "It's a half day."
"Oh."
"Yeah," Julie agreed, "Sooo, watcha looking for?" She patted the space next to for Alex to take.
Alex sighed and flopped down next to her, “It’s stupid.”
Julie frowned and grabbed his hand and squeezed it in comfort, “If it’s important to you, then it’s not stupid.”
Alex took a deep breath, “Luke and Reggie thought it would be funny to hide my bag.”
“Oh, your,” Julie gestured across her chest, like how Alex wore the bag, “Fanny pack?”
Alex nodded sadly, “I know it’s stupid, but I don’t feel whole leaving without it.”
“Why?” Julie asked softly, “Why’s it so important to you?”
Alex bit his lip and twisted the bottom of his hoodie, before replying softly, “I have a, or is it had, I’m not sure,” Alex frowned in confusion, “But before all of this,” Alex gestured wildly around the studio, “I had a pretty serious nut allergy, like you eat a peanut butter sandwich next and I’m going to have to go to the hospital within the next few minutes serious. So my parents always made sure I carried an epipen around with me. I had to have it on me at all times or I couldn’t go to band practise or hang out with the guys. I know how to use it and I taught all the guys how to, even though Bobby always got squeamish at the thought of actually using it on me.” Alex rambled on, “And I know, right now, with me being a ghost and all, I don’t have any real use for it whatsoever, but I feel anxious and twitchy and my head isn’t going to quiet down unless I find it and have it in my hands.”
Silence filled the studio as Alex finished speaking. Julie continued to hold Alex’s hand in comfort, while he tried to control his breathing.
“Okay.”
“Okay?”
“Okay,” Julie smiled brightly, “I’m going help you for it and once we’ve found it we’ll get revenge on Luke and Reggie, because what they did might have been funny to them, it was kind of mean to you.”
“You don’t think it’s dumb?”
“Of course not,” Julie frowned, “This is a judgement-free zone Alex. You can carry around that fanny pack for as long as you want and it will be fine with me,” She stood up and pulled Alex up with her, “Now tell me where you’ve already searched. This studio isn’t that big, we’ll have it back in no time.”
Alex was quiet for a moment, a searching look on his face as he looked into Julie’s eyes. He must have seen something he liked, as he quickly started to list off the places he had searched.
“Thanks Julie,” Alex smiled softly as they started their search.
“What are friends for?” Julie smiled back.
----
3. Luke speaks french when angry
(I’m using google translate please, tell me if I’ve horribly butchered it wrong)
“Où est mon cahier?” (Where is my notebook?)
Julie frowned as Luke poofed into the studio, anger clearly written across his face. He stalked towards the couch where Alex and Reggie sat.
“Uh, what?” Julie blinked in confusion from her place at the piano.
“Alex! Où est mon cahier?” (Alex! Where is my notebook?)
“Oh no,” Reggie gasped, his eyes widened in shock, “Luke’s speaking french,” Reggie scooted to the other end of the couch away from Alex, “Alex you’re in trouble.”
“Come on dude,” Alex pleaded, having no clue what Luke was talking about, “You know we can’t understand you when you’re like this.”
“Cahier, maintenant!” Luke held his hand out to Alex and shook it when Alex didn’t move. (Notebook, now!)
“Dude please.”
“J'ai cherché partout et je ne peux pas le trouver. Vous étiez le dernier à l'avoir.” Luke folded his arms and began tapping his foot. (I have searched everywhere and cannot find it. You were the last to have it.)
“Wait, cahier?” Julie frowned, trying to remember any of her french lessons from school, “That’s the french word for ‘notebook’ right?”
Alex and Reggie shrugged at the same time.
“Didn’t take a language class,” Reggie said, “Don’t have the head for it.”
“I took German,” Alex replied.
“Why is Luke speaking french?”
Alex and Reggie frowned at each other, “Luke grew up in Vancouver until he was like 5, learnt french there, then his parents moved him here,” Alex explained.
“He only really speaks french when something’s pissed him off though,” Reggie added, “If you’re right then he’s implying Alex has his lyric notebook.”
“Which I don’t” Alex huffed and looked back up to Luke, “I didn’t touch your notebook Luke, I know better than that.”
“Oh,” Julie gasped softly and quickly dug into her school bag, “Luke, I have it. I wanted to show Flynn some of your lyrics. Sorry I didn’t mean for you to worry.”
The anger on Luke’s face instantaneously melted away and was replaced with a smile as he took back his notebook, “Thanks Julie. No harm done.”
“What ‘no sorry Alex, didn’t mean to yell I didn’t have all my facts’?” Alex squawked with a frown.
“Sorry Alex,” Luke apologized with a sheepish smile, “I didn’t mean to yell, you know how I it get without my notebook.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Alex rolled his eyes, “Next time aim for Reggie.”
“What’d I do?”
“I’m sure you’ll do something by then.”
----
4. They happily share clothes
“Rise and shine boys!" Julie cheerfully called out as she entered the studio, ever since the removal of Caleb’s stamp, her boys had started to feel the need for sleep at the end of each night, like real people, "We have a big day ahead of us. Lots of things to do before our gig tomorrow night."
Julie watched as Alex struggled to open his eyes and find where she was standing. He went to sit up but found himself unable to move, this was due to the fact that his bandmates had both wrapped themselves around him during the night. Reggie had his arm wrapped around Alex’s waist, with his head on the blonde’s chest. While Luke pressed his face into Alex's neck, with his hand reaching across to grip the front of Reggie’s shirt.
"Well this is very cute," Julie smiled as she whipped out her phone and snapped a few dozen pictures, then sent the best ones to Flynn, "Flynn's going to love these."
"What time is it?" Luke mumbled into Alex’s neck, his breath tickling his ear.
“It’s nearly lunchtime.”
“Noooo,” Reggie whined as he buried his head further into Alex’s chest, “It’s too early.”
“It’s lunchtime,” Julie stressed, “If you guys keep on sleeping we’ll never have our setlist done. Now get up, I’ll be back in a few minutes so you can get dressed.” Julie left the studio to give her boys some privacy.
It wasn’t long before Luke called her back in. Upon entering the studio, Julie was pleased to see that they had folded away the sofa bed this time and put away the blankets.
“Good job boys,” Julie smiled at the trio. Only to frown a moment later at what they were wearing, “You guys get a bit mixed up?”
The boys frowned and looked down at themselves, not understanding what Julie was talking about. They were dressed, why did she have a problem with that. Luke was wearing one of Reggie’s tighter red flannels and a pair of Alex’s shorts. Reggie had on Alex’s pink hoodie and a pair of Luke’s jeans. While Alex had on someone’s sweatpants and one of Luke’s sleeveless tanks, though he still had on his snapback. They were all barefoot, not that they minded, they weren’t going anywhere yet.
“What’s wrong with what we’re wearing?” Luke asked with a pout.
“Yeah,” Reggie agreed, “You said get dressed and we did.”
“It was first to the bag, gets to pick first and these are our only clean clothes,” Alex helpfully pointed out with a smile, "We might need to do some laundry soon."
“Uh, okay” Julie blinked, “I guess I’ve just never seen you wear each other’s clothes.”
“We used to share clothes all the time,” Luke said, “You know, before the whole hotdog thing.”
“Yeah,” Reggie smiled, “But we had Bobby’s in rotation too then. It’s slim pickings between the three of us.”
“Well, I guess as long as you guys are comfortable,” Julie shrugged.
“We are,” The trio said at the same time, causing them to burst into giggles.
Julie rolled her eyes, it was going to be a long day, but hopefully a productive one.
----
5. They all have matching tattoos
Julie blinked up from her lyric notebook as her boys poofed into the studio, soaked from head to toe from the rain. Julie tilted her head in confusion, she wasn’t quite sure how that worked. They didn’t notice Julie in the studio with them, as they had their backs to her.
"I don't get it," Alex huffed as he shook his snapback, hoping to get rid of some of the water, "We're ghosts. How can we walk through walls and not be affected, but we get caught in a rain shower and we're soaked?"
"Not a clue dude," Reggie shrugged out of his jacket, "Just another mystery of our new ghost lives."
“Well I don’t like it,” Alex stripped off his soaked hoodie and dropped it to the ground with a wet splat.
“We know.”
“We know.”
Julie frowned as the ghostly trio continued to remove wet articles of clothing, she tried to get their attention but the sound of the rain drowned out her pleas. It wasn’t until they were just standing in their boxer shorts that she gained their attention.
“Uh guys,” Julie called out, “Please stop taking off your clothes.”
The boys gasped and spun around.
“Julie!” They yelled out together as they attempted to cover themselves.
“What are you doing out here?” Luke asked, “You should be inside, it’s raining.”
“Do you need towels? Let me get some towels.” Julie got up from the couch and went for the cupboard in the corner.
“You didn’t answer my question,” Luke sounded like he was pouting.
“I know,” Julie agreed, “But I’m not speaking to you until you’re covered up.”
“Oh.”
Julie pulled out three big fluffy towels and handed one to each of her boys. She watched as they wrapped themselves up to dry off, only to stop at Alex when she noticed a splash of colour on his ribs. Alex attempted to pull the towel from her grip, but was unsuccessful, much to his disappointment. Julie took a hold of Alex’s arm and lifted it slightly and saw a half sun design with a sketchy looking outline, with colours of red, yellow and orange sitting on his ribs.
“You have a tattoo?” Julie asked Alex, not quite believing what she was seeing.
“Uh, yeah,” Alex muttered still trying to get the towel as he was actually starting to feel the cold, then he gestured to the other two, “We all got one, after we got told we would be playing The Orpheum.”
“Bobby too,” Reggie supplied.
“Are they all the same?”
“Yeah,” Luke smiled, towel up over his head as he stretched out his ankle showing off his own tattoo, “Alex designed it, it represents Sunset Curve ."
"Where's yours, Reggie?"
"Oh," Reggie opened his towel and pushed down the top of his boxers to show off his hip, "Right here."
"Keep that towel on and your boxers up Reggie," Julie shook her head, "Did they hurt?"
The trio looked at each over Julie's head as she looked between her boy's tattoos admiring the artwork, before unanimously deciding to protect their past selves dignity, as they had all hurt quite a lot, but Julie didn't need to know that.
"Nope."
"Nah."
"Didn't feel a thing."
"Well," Julie smiled, "They look pretty cool."
"Thanks Julie." She received three bright smiles in return.
----
+1. They knew her mother!
Julie sat in her room, going through one of her many photo albums, looking for the perfect picture.
"Whatcha doing?" Julie jumped at the sound of Luke's voice right in her ear.
"Don't do that," She turned around smacked him with a pillow, sending the ghost tumbling off the bed, to the amusement of his friends, "You know better then to sneak up on me."
"Sorry Julie," Luke pouted from his position on the floor, "I was just curious."
Reggie and Alex snorted at the spectacle that was their lead singer.
"Yeah," Julie huffed, "Make some noise next time."
A moment passed in silence before Luke broke.
"Soooo," Luke got up onto his knees, put an elbow on the edge of the bed and rested his chin on his palm, "Whatcha looking for?"
Julie looked down at the photo album, "Carlos is doing a family tree-slash-timeline thing for school, he wants to use a couple of my pictures of mama. One of when she was younger and one from last year just before she got sick. You know, different stages of life."
"Oh," Reggie sat himself down next to Julie, "Sounds interesting, I don't think we've seen any pictures of your mum. Other than that one Alex grabbed and she wasn't really looking at the camera."
"Yeah, you wouldn't have,” Julie sighed, “Tia thought it would be best if we took them down for a little bit, you know while we mourned."
The boys all nodded, understanding the touchy subject.
“Wait, is that her?” Alex lent over and pointed to a photograph of a woman singing into a microphone, with a three piece all girl band behind her, “She looks familiar,” He mumbled softly to himself.
“Yeah,” Julie smiled, “It’s her and her band, Rose and the Petal Pushers. That’s how her and dad meet, he was the photographer for one of her gigs. Love at first sight or so he says.”
“Didn't we know a Rose?” Reggie asked with a frowned, thinking back, “I swear we did.”
“I don’t think we do.” Luke leant over the photo album to see the picture. “Aww Julie you look just like her. Was her band any good?”
“Do you know how many people are called Rose?” Alex cut in, “We could have met someone called that at any of the bars or theaters we played at.”
“Thanks Luke,” Julie smiled, “Mama said she recorded a few demos, but never really got far with her bands, they never hit it big but she had tons of fun. It was more of a hobby thing for her, she was more interested in the songwriting aspect more. It worked well for her when she was between jobs. She waitressed mostly and wrote some songs for other musicians. I think she even helped Trevor write something for one of his later albums. Here,” Julie pulled out one of the photos and passed it to Luke, it showed a young woman with Julie’s hair, wearing a sparkling top and a similar leather vest that Julie had worn with they had performed Finally Free at that cafe, “This is mama when she worked at The Orpheum, she said she got to see a lot of cool bands play there.”
Luke’s eyes widened in shock as he looked down at the photo, “Oh no,” He whispered to himself, recognising the woman.
“That’s it, I remember,” Reggie clicked his fingers, his eyes lighting up, “At The Orpheum, that waitress who listened to our soundcheck and said we sounded good. She was called Rose, she was cute.”
Alex rolled his eyes, “I also remember you, Luke and Bobby all trying to hit on her.”
“Uh guys,” Luke grabbed at Reggie’s arm, “I think we are connected to Julie, after all.”
“What do you mean?” Reggie was confused, Luke wasn’t making sense.
Luke flipped the photos around to show the others, “This is Julie’s mum, does she look familiar?”
Reggie and Alex lent in close to look at the photo, recognition hit them hard and Reggie’s jaw dropped, “I hit on Julie’s mum!” He squeaked.
“What?!” Julie looked at Reggie in shock, “What do you mean by that?”
“You hit on Julie’s mum,” Reggie pointed at Luke, as his voice went higher.
Julie swung around to face Luke, “What?!”
“Bobby hit on Julie’s mum,” Was the last high pitched thing Julie heard from Reggie before he poofed out of her room in a hurry.
“Luke?” Julie asked her brows furrowed in confusion, but Luke couldn’t give her an answer as he too poofed out, his face bright red in embarrassment.
“Alex?”
“If it makes you feel any better, they all struck out with her,” Alex smiled sheepishly with a shrug.
“I’m not sure how it makes me feel, to be honest.”
“Fair enough,” Alex nodded and sat down next to her on the bed, “Want me to help you pick out a photo for Carlos?”
Julie blinked at Alex’s change of subject, “Sure.”
“Cool,” Alex smiled, “Luke was right, you do really look like her.”
Julie returned Alex’s smile, “Thanks Alex.”

Devil’s Ballroom Ch.6
A year after the events from the earth’s final attack, Little Homeworld is finally complete, and there’s a new jazz bar where gems and humans mingle and drink. - As you’re typing back a reply, someone pulls the stool out next to you and takes a seat. You see a sliver of pink out of the corner of your eye as you try not to actually Look. Oh god. It’s her. God can’t help us now.
Spinel/Reader
collab with my lovely wife @firstofficertightpants
(have some tooth rotting fluff ya sluts)
You spend your weekend lazing about the house and playing games with Alex, trying your best to not obsess and overthink everything that happened with Spinel. The both of you agreed to hang out in another 3 days, and you’re really eager for the next couple of days to pass. She didn’t tell you what she wanted to do, so you’ve been waiting on a response for nearly a full day by now. She wasn’t kidding when she said she didn’t use her phone much. You try to spend your time concentrating on building your tower in your minecraft server with your friends, when you hear a rustling noise from your headset, indicating Alex was back from grabbing food. You hear him set a bowl down on the desk and he picks his headset back up.
“Ugggghhhhhh.” He starts. “I was gone for like, 5 minutes and some creepers blew out the side wall of my fucking chicken coop..” You hear him chew whatever the fuck he was eating.
“That’s what that was? I thought I heard something in the distance but ignored it. I’m too far away anyway.” You reply. “I’m adding more floors to my tower. Wanna go get me more wood soon? Because I’m starting to run out.” You hear him scoff.
“Why do you always make ME go and get more wood? I wish Harper was here so she could be your supply bitch instead. Do I not look fucking busy here? First of all. I’m eating, Y/N, you brat. Second of all, I’m trying to repair my STUPID CHICKEN COOP. There’s like 60 chickens all LOOSE here and homeless!” He cries. “I have some acacia if you want it, but that’s all I’ve got to spare.”
“Yes, I’d totally love some ugly orange wood to break up all the NICE colors I have going on in here. Fuck off with your acacia.” You say, checking your inventory to see if you even have an axe. You hear your phone chime 2 times, and quickly grab it off your desk to see what it is. It’s just 2 texts from your dad asking you to pick up his prescription from the store. You sigh audibly.
“Whoooooo was that?” You hear Alex say. Nosy bitch.
“Just my dad.” You roll your eyes and say. “Wants me to pick up his prescriptions tomorrow.”
“Why’d you sound so disappointed, then?” He asks, and you can tell he’s up to something. Bastard.
“I’m not disappointed, stop trying to read my emotions.” You say. “You always do this when you think you’re onto something.” “I am onto something!!” He whines. “I can tell you’re hiding something from me, Y/N. You know what happens when you hide things from me? I find out, one way or another.”
“You’ll get nothing out of me, and you won’t find anything.” You say, deadpan.
“HA!!! So there is something.” He says, smug.
“Okay you little shit,” You sigh into the mic. “It’s literally nothing. Drop it.”
“I bet I can guessssssssss.” He giggles, and you’re considering blowing up the rest of his chicken coop.
“I doubt it.” “Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…” He says into the mic, obnoxiously.
“Nope.” You say. Desperately trying to steer this elsewhere.
“Isssss it….” He continues, “Maaaaybeeeeeeee…. Spinel?” He asks, his voice pitching in that certain way when he knows he’s fucking right.
God fucking dammit, do you hate your friends. You can’t even hide anything for 2 days.
“No.” You argue.
“You’re a fucking liar Y/N, and I know you’re being difficult on purpose.”
“Nooooo. Fuck you.” You give up. He’s going to be annoying until you give him what he wants.
“That’s my girl.” He says smugly, and you can hear him chewing again.
“When you come home, I’m punching you in the face, I swear to god.” You threaten.
“Don’t be cute,” He says. “Side note, by the way, I’m actually coming home this week instead of the end of next week. Some of mom’s clients had to move their appointment forward due to some other things, so we get to go home early this year. I am SO FUCKING READY to be home at this point. Being able to only hang out with my brother blows.”
“Yesss,” You answer. “Now if only Harper got her ass home.”
“For real,” He burps. “Anyway. Back to what I was saying.” You were hoping he’d drop it. “Spinel. The gem. What's the deal with her?"
"Nothing."
"Really? Because the other night you said otherwise. Did you even get her number?" He asks, accusingly.
"Of course I got her number, I'm not an idiot," You retort, mildly insulted. "She just hasn't texted me since our initial text last night. We made plans to hang out, since she hasn't done much around here, but hasn't given me an update on what she wants to do."
"It's been less than a day. Why does this have your panties in a bunch?" He prys.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Do you liiiiiike her?" He sings obnoxiously into the mic. You consider hanging up the call for a brief moment, but you know that he'd absolutely call that one a defeat, so you yield. You just sigh, again.
"I don't know. Kind of. She's funny, and sweet, and really easy to talk to. Also she's really pretty." You admit. “I don’t think I’ve got on with anyone that quickly, like ever.”
“Do you seriously have the hots for an alien?” Alex asks, amused. “You can’t judge me!” You yell, slightly miffed. “You think xenomorphs are sexy!”
“THEY’RE JUST SO CURVY, OKAY. AND THOSE TONGUES!!” He wails in reply as you laugh at him.
“I’m just saying! At least she’s fairly normal looking.”
“You mean, humanoid. She’s a gem. Don’t they have weird powers or something?” He ponders out loud.
“Not the point, and besides,” You interject, “I’m not too sure she’s even interested in anything like that, anyway.”
“Like what?” he responds, taking another bite of food.
“You know like.. dating, humans, girls..” You mumble, checking your phone absentmindedly.
“Well, ask her?” He says casually.
“Are you shitting me? No.”
“Pussy. Want me to ask her?” He asks, teasingly.
“Don’t even fucking talk to her.” You scoff. “You will fuck up everything, I’m sure.” Your phone buzzes, and you open the notification to see that it’s a text from Spinel. Oh my god finally.
Spinel: Sooo, I’ve decided it’s gonna be a surprise.
Y/N: That’s unfair!
Spinel: ;)
“What does that even mean!?” You accidentally say out loud.
“What does what now?” asks Alex immediately.
“Hold on,” You say, and take a screenshot of the text. “Sent you it. This is all I get, apparently. Cryptic. She gives me absolutely no signs.” You hear Alex’s phone ping on the other side, and then him chuckling.
“Yeah, you know what? You can figure this one out yourself, Y/N. You’re smart.”
“I hate you so much right now.” You sigh in frustration.
“And you’re gonna hate me even more, because I just remembered I promised my mother I’d help her with something. Bye!!!” He says and hangs up the call, leaving you sitting there. Ughh, this guy. Whatever, you think to yourself. You have other things to do anyway.
But not before you blow up his chicken coop.
~
You spend the next two days at work letting the days pass painfully slow, with only the occasional text from Spinel. You’re not exactly overwhelming her with texts as is, as you also don’t want to seem too eager or desperate. So far, you only know that what the two of you are doing is casual, so to dress normal. You don’t even know when, or where the two of you are meeting.
You’re near the end of your shift that went from 6 hours to 10, thanks to Mr. Smiley leaving early and having you close up Funland by yourself. Tomorrow is the day you agreed on with Spinel, and with no answer still, you shoot her another text.
Y/N: So when and where tomorrow?
You wait for an answer for a few minutes, double checking all the tills you closed in the meantime and wiping a few surfaces down. You hear your phone ping, and you check it.
Spinel: Is noon good for you? Don’t worry about the where part yet.
Y/N: You're driving me nuts. Just tell me where we're going.
Spinel: Nope! ;)
Frustrated and amused, you finish the rest of your closing duties and clock out for the night. You grab your things, lock up, and head home. You spend the rest of the evening playing games with Alex, and have a hard time falling asleep, when you finally get around to it.
You wake up around 11:30 in a panic, completely aware you slept through your alarm. You check your phone, and Spinel's left a message about half an hour ago. You open it.
Spinel: I'll meet you at your place around 12 ish. Okay?
You quickly type out a reply.
Y/N: You got it.
You turn your phone's ringer on, and toss it on your bed to go and take a quick shower. You haven't even figured out what to wear. You finish your shower in like 5 minutes flat, towel yourself dry, and blow dry your hair. She said casual, you do casual best anyway, but why does this have you nervous? The fuck is she planning? Why is this secret? You're trying to keep yourself together while sorting through your clean clothes, attempting to find anything that works together. You have pants, and you're deciding between a sweater and some shirt when Jellybean jumps into the laundry pile, and you sigh out loud.
Get it together, self. You grab the shirt.
You put on a small bit of makeup - just eyeliner for the most part, and you walk downstairs to lounge on the couch and wait. You’re replying to a couple texts your father has sent you when you hear a knock on your door. You lay there for a moment, nervously, before getting up and heading over to the door. You check the peephole just in case - yep, it’s Spinel. You open the door to greet her.
“Hey,” You say, feigned casualness.
“Hey yourself. Ya ready to go?” She asks, leaning against the doorway.
“Can I put my shoes on?” You step away from the door for a moment, and grab your sneakers.
“If you think they’re necessary.” She jokes, watching you.
“I could walk around barefoot, but it’s not really in the forecast today.” You lace up your shoes, and look over to Spinel. She’s got her hair up in a ponytail again today, and she’s wearing a light sweater and jeans. The collar is a bit wide, so you have full view of her neck and collarbone. She’s so fucking soft looking that you have to force yourself to stop staring. You also notice that she has a medium sized bag with her, contents completely obscured. She notices you looking at her bag, and moves it behind her shoulder. You think you see her hand shaking, but when you look a little closer it isn’t, so you dismiss it.
“No looking. That’s still a surprise.” She smirks.
“You’ll have to tell me eventually.” You say, deadpan. You grab your bag from the table next to you, pocket your cell phone, and lock the front door. You turn to look her in the face. “Alright captain, where to?”
“Just follow me. We’re walking today.” She swivels around to face the street, her hair swishing from shoulder to shoulder. Ugh, she’s cute. You hate how easy it is for you to like her. You push down your feelings, and catch up to her side so you’re walking with her. You pass by a couple houses, the air warm and slightly breezy.
“So what have you been up to the last couple of days?” You inquire, looking around at the cars passing the two of you by, heat rising off the pavement.
“I fixed the wall that I ruined the other night, but only because Lapis was sending me increasingly threatening texts about it.” She replies, angling her face towards you. You catch her eyeing your hands for some reason, before quickly looking away.
“Yeah she seemed really miffed about it, almost like you committed a personal offense.” You say, laughing. You turn right at a street corner, and notice that you’re heading towards the beach. Hm.
“She can’t complain about it anymore, though, since I did such a nice job on it.” She adjusts the bag on her shoulder, and you hear a few items move against each other, but you can’t discern what exactly. “The diamonds have also been bothering me on my helping them with some homeworld event, but I’m not sure I’m keen on assisting them with it. They have the pearls for that.”
“What did they want you to do, anyway? Don’t they have like, thousands of gems under their reign to help them with whatever they want?” You feel your hand accidentally brush against Spinel’s twice, and mumble an apology before putting your hand in your pocket. You catch her eyebrows furrowing for a second before she smoothes out her expression.
“I honestly think they just want me there just to have me there. I don’t think they’re coping well with the fact that I actually want some space.”
“Well, they can calm down. Tell them to fuck off.” You say, joking, for the most part.
“Why don’t YOU tell the diamonds to fuck off, and see how well that works out for you.” She replies to you, grinning. The two of you are walking on the boardwalk now, by the beach. It’s pretty nice out, sun high up in the sky, a couple of fluffy white clouds around.
“I like being alive.” Spinel snorts at that, and you can’t help smiling. You feel like just being around her in general makes a permanent smile take residence on your face. “So. We’re at the beach. Are we having a beach day? I didn’t bring a swimsuit.”
“No, we’re not going to the beach,” She scoffs and rolls her eyes. “We’re not even done walking, sheesh. Impatient.” You continue to follow her, and soon the two of you are walking the path that leads to the lighthouse by Steven’s house. You have no idea what she wants to do up there, but you shut your mouth and continue to follow. You’re both pretty quiet on the way up, concentrating more on the steep walk than on talking, but it isn’t uncomfortable. It’s easy, even.
Once you and Spinel reach the top of the hill, she sets her bag down, and turns to you.
“We’re here.” She’s grinning and looking proud that she made it all the way up here.
“At the lighthouse. You’ve never been here?” You ask, confused. Her face falls, slightly, and you panic. “I’m not saying I didn’t want to come here, it’s nice! I just figured you’d like, I don’t know, want to go bowling?”
“Steven said I should create better memories for the places I have bad memories attached to.” She says, looking at the ground and not meeting your eyes.
“You have bad memories with the lighthouse? But wh- oh.” The injector. Her arrival. You’re an idiot. “I’m sorry, I’m dense sometimes.” She meets your eyes and gives you a /look/ like somehow, she knows this already. Okay, ow. She bends down and opens her bag, and pulls out a little knit blanket, large enough for two people to sit on.
“So, maybe I’ve wanted to do this since seeing it in a movie I watched 2 weeks ago with Steven and Amethyst..” She trails off while unfolding the blanket and putting it down. She grabs her bag and sets it down on one of the corners, and starts to pull out what looks like 6 containers of food, and a thermos. After setting everything down, she looks up at you just standing there, a bit nervously. “Are you gonna sit down?”
“We’re having a picnic?” You look at her, breaking out into a slow grin. She flushes immediately.
“Don’t make fun of me.” She pouts, crossing her arms over her chest, and purposely turns her face away from you. You kneel down next to her.
"How can I not, when you always react so cutely." You tease her, feeling bold. You grab the thermos and examine it, but the contents aren't discernable from the outside.
"Remind me why I chose to do this, willingly?” She turns back to face you, glaring. “Because you liiiiiiike me.” You grin, wiggling your eyebrows at her. She sputters and her entire face reddens, and you laugh.
“A-anyway,” She grabs two of the food containers, clearly trying to change the subject. “I made some food for the both of us. Steven taught me how to make a couple of basic things, but I didn’t taste test any of them.”
“Oh, so you can poison us both at the same time?” You grab the container, and it has what looks like potato salad in it. “This looks fine, I don’t think you’ve got anything to worry about.” She leans closer to you and peers into the container, shrugging.
“I don’t know much about human food so I wasn’t sure if it looked okay. I don’t have a whole lot to go off of.” She grabs two forks and sticks them into the container. “Let me at least open the rest of these before you try that.” She unstacks the others and opens them, setting down sandwiches, pasta, some cut up fruit, some cheese and cured meat, and some cookies. Damn, she outdid herself. You weren’t expecting all of this, or.. any of this, at all really. This was actually pretty well thought-out.
“Spinel. This all looks so good, the hell.” You say, going for one of the sandwiches and taking a bite. Ham, cheese, spinach, tomato, and some mustard? It tastes just fine. “Tastes good, too.”
“Thanks.” She sheepishly pulls out the other sandwich and takes a bite, shrugging. “Kind of hard to ruin a sandwich, though.”
“You know what? I’ll let you find the truth about that on your own. Believe me when I say, you can ruin ANY kind of easy food.” You say, taking another bite.
The two of you eat in silence for a couple minutes, while you gaze out at the sea. This was a good idea. The warm breeze makes your hair tickle your face, and you push some of it behind your ear. You see Spinel staring at you, and turn to make eye contact. She turns away swiftly. Hm.
“So,” You say abruptly, startling her a bit. “I’ve never asked. What’s your favorite color?” She laughs out loud at the sheer banality of the question.
“Hmm, you know,” She pauses and sets her fingers on her chin, thinking. “It used to be pink. Now.. not so much.”
“Your new favorite color could be like..” You trail off while looking around you, and you spot a couple of small wildflowers nearby. You point them out to her. “Yellow, like that.” She scrunches her nose.
“No, too bright. Maybe I should go for something more cool-toned.” “Don’t you already have a few other colors you like? You know, you can’t just choose a favorite color. You gotta actually like it.” You say to her, eyebrow raised.
“I like plenty of other colors! I just don’t know yet, I guess. Ask me again in a week.” She replies. Anyway, you never answered, so.”
“It’s pink.” You say.
“What?” She says in disbelief.
“Yeah, you know. Like your gem.” You take a couple bites of some pasta. It’s nice and zesty. She’s staring at you like you’ve grown another head. “What?” You say with a mouthful of food. “It’s always been my favorite. Dad used to get me everything in that color.” You think you see her cheeks redden, but you’re too busy eating to really notice. After a few moments, you hear a ringing noise coming from Spinel.
“Huh.” She says, and pulls her phone out of her pocket. You glance at the screen, and it’s Blue Diamond. Spinel stares at the screen for a few brief seconds, and swipes the call away. She pockets her phone again. “Yeah, I’m not in the mood to deal with that.”
“You think she’s calling about needing you over at Homeworld?” You ask her, poking at a few pieces of pineapple. She shakes her head.
“Probably.. maybe. I have no idea, actually. But I’m in a good mood and I don’t want her to ruin it.” “Yeah.. that’s fair.” You chew your food thoughtfully, and stretch your legs out in front of you on the blanket. With the sun above you, and the food settling in your stomach, you honestly just want to lay down and take a nap. “I could call her back if you wanted, and like, I don’t know, tell her off?” You offer, and she laughs.
“I don’t think Blue would take it very well, especially coming from a human, and one she doesn’t know.”
“Offer still stands.” You say. “And besides. She's never met me, so."
"I think it's in your best interest to maybe steer clear from their bad side."
"You don't think I could take on a couple of aliens!?" You say in mock offense.
"Do you have any special powers I don't know about?" She smirks, and uncaps the thermos. It looks like some sort of soup inside.
"I have this uncanny ability to make people fall in love with me." You reply as she's taking in a mouthful of soup, and she nearly chokes on it, sputtering.
"You have got to be the most ridiculous human I have ever met." She says while wiping her mouth, and sets the thermos down in front of her.
“I’d say the same to you, but I’ve spent enough time around Peridot.” At that she laughs super hard, and you grab the thermos and take a small sniff. It’s a homemade chicken soup with some vegetables, which is pretty safe by all means, so you take a sip. It’s probably the best you’ve tasted in a while, honestly. “You know, this is actually really good. Most of the people I know can’t even cook at a basic level like this. And they’re human and need to EAT to survive, which is pretty ironic,” You pause to take another sip. “That a gem is more wife material than most of the humans around here.” You kind of realize what you just said after it came out of your mouth, so you quickly shove some potato salad into your face to hide your embarrassment. You hope she didn’t pay too much attention to that bit at the end.
You chew your food nervously for a moment, before looking up to meet Spinel’s gaze. Her face is comically blank, like she forced any expression off it, and she’s staring in the general direction of your mouth.
“You’ve got something on your cheek.” She states, and points to the corner of your mouth. You wipe off your face, and give her another look. “It’s still there.” You wipe again and raise your eyebrow at her. “It’s, ugh, let me,” She says in frustration and leans right over into your personal space, swiping the corner of your mouth with her thumb. You feel your face heating up immediately, and mutter a thanks to her. She only leans back slightly, very much still in your personal space, and smirks at you.
“W- what?” You stammer, like a complete fool.
“Nuthin’. You’re just cute when you’re all flustered.” She replies, grinning at you.
“Cute!?” You all but yell in response, and give her a small shove to the side playfully. You guess you caught her completely off-balance, because you just managed to tip her over, and she’s howling in laughter much to your distress. You’re watching her fit of giggles die down as she’s holding her sides, half of her face pressed into the grass.
Something deep down kind of clicks in place that you’ve been trying and failing to itch at for months now. Watching Spinel’s gem sparkle in the sunlight as she lays there, catching her breath, you think that maybe, it would be so easy to fall in love with her. And maybe you have already, just a little.
The two of you spend the next hour or so making various amounts of small talk with the occasional bout of teasing each other, before you agree that it was time to head home.
The walk back is nice, and you find yourself cherishing your time with her quite a lot. You don’t really want it to end, but you do have to run a couple errands after this. You turn to Spinel walking beside you.
“Do you wanna hang out again soon?” You ask her. She looks a bit surprised that you asked again, but pleased nonetheless.
“I’d love to.” She smiles. “Do you want me to be the one who chooses what we do again?”
“No, let me choose this time.” “Mmm, yeah, okay.” She bumps your shoulder with hers on purpose, her ponytail swinging lightly.
“Also, you should text me more. I’m going to spam you with pictures of Jellybean, and you’ve got to look at all of them. Otherwise, we’re not friends.” You bump her shoulder back, and she snorts.
“I think I’m getting the hang of human tech, so.. I’ll try my best.” She replies as the two of you pass by a couple of houses leading up to yours. “Today was fun, by the way. So.. thanks for spending time with me.” The both of you walk up to your front door, and you turn to face her.
“Don’t thank me. It was all my idea anyway, and you just went along with it. I’m just happy you agreed to try something new.” You say to her, reaching for your keys.
“You’ll keep in touch, yeah?” She nervously fiddles with the hem of her shirt, not meeting your eyes.
“I’m gonna text you in twenty minutes. Count on it.” You move to unlock the door, struggling to get the key in the deadbolt. Once you wiggle it enough it unlocks pretty easily. You turn to say goodbye to Spinel, and you feel something soft and warm on your cheek. She pulls away so quickly you barely catch it.
“I’ll see ya soon!” She shouts, already at the end of your driveway, and keeps walking until you can no longer see her.
You stand there with your door open, completely frozen on your porch. You get your shit together after a few moments so the neighbors don’t stare, and head inside. You close the door and lean against it, unable to comprehend what just happened. You pull out your phone to text your friends.
Y/N: Can one of ya’ll bastards call life alert.

20. EXCUSE ME, Catherine?!?!! Aren’t daughter-in-laws supposed to support their father-in-law?!?!?!?! What planet are you from? I literally can’t stand Catherine or Bailey or Minnick... this new season of Grey’s is driving me nuts....
21. DeLuca honestly has every right to be pissed at Karev.
22. Now it’s gonna be Karev loving Jo AND DeLuca loving Jo...
23. Mer & Maggie’s mom getting along gives me life <3 One, large, happy adoptive/blood family.
24. I’m sorry you don’t like the person I’ve become.. but I do. — Maggie’s Mom
25. Don’t leave!!! The next time you see (or want to see) your daughter it could be too late for you :[
Oh man... when Maggie finds out her Mom has cancer, she’s going to be recked.... and then she’s going to pissed at herself for yelling at her mom.. ah..... :[
26. You’re on Bailey’s side on all of this? — Richard [to his bitchy wife]
27. Alex, Maggie, & Mer in Mer’s bed is so great, and reminds me of the old days when Mer, Izzie, and George...\
28. Come on, Amelia.. Open the door! I don’t understand why she’s acting like this... Owen didn’t do anything.

30. Also, why would Bailey give April head of GENERAL SURGERY when April’s a TRAUMA SURGEON?
I hope April stays Team Webber.....
