Kyrgios ruled out of Davis Cup after abdominal strain, replaced by Vukic
Nick Kyrgios has been replaced in Australia’s Davis Cup squad by Aleksandar Vukic after the former Wimbledon finalist suffered an abdominal strain in the lead-up to the Australian Open. After a five-year absence from the Davis Cup, Kyrgios had been a surprise inclusion in the squad named by captain Lleyton Hewitt in December for the first-round tie against Sweden starting later on Friday. “I was…

Serbian opposition lawmakers threw smoke grenades and used pepper spray inside parliament on Tuesday, protesting against the government and backing student-led demonstrations. The unrest escalated when a legislator suffered a stroke during the mayhem.
The protests, sparked by the tragic deaths of 15 people in a railway station collapse, have grown into Serbia’s biggest anti-government movement in years. Clashes erupted inside the chamber as opposition politicians scuffled with security, while black and pink smoke filled the air.
President Aleksandar Vučić condemned the chaos, vowing action against those responsible, while the session continued amid whistles, horns, and demands for justice.

do you want to be in stress city just watch two concurrent tiebreaks. carlos was up 5-2 and vukic dragged him to a tiebreak which carlos fairly handedly won but there were some scares. daniil was down 3-0 and managed to drag himself towards a tiebreak in which he was once again down 3-0 and finally nail bitingly won it at 7-5. never become a sports fan it is terrible on your heart

Finally willing to grind it out in the Challengers to rebuild his ranking on his favorite grass season, former World No. 10 Denis Shapovalov took on seventh seed Aleksandar Vukic for a spot in the second round. Sharpness would also be necessary for one to stand out in this match, which could be tricky but possible, depending on their point construction and pacing.
Even if Shapo had a backhand pass somewhere before A. Vukic held his serves to 1-1, the Canadian started to have a trouble in his second serves as he frequently double-faulted in this game, followed by some erratic showings where the seventh seed turned out to redirect more from his forehand side to secure his break to 2-1. Subsequently, A. Vukic consolidated his lead to 3-1.
Maintaining his point construction as concise as possible, the Australian seventh seed then saw an opportunity to break for the first set thanks to his slight sharpness. After firing a close-call backhand, which turned out to be in, for a crucial equalizer to 5-3* 30-30, he successfully converted his set point made due to Shapo's unforced error with an intuitive volley to break for the first set 6-3, setting himself a set ahead in this match.
