Christine Anderson always felt like she was longing for someone. Perhaps someone she always dreamed about. Someone who is always calling for her.
But what if that someone happens to be three of the most powerful vampires in the world and soon she realizes her whole world got turned upside down?
If you have read this story on A03, awesome but if not, welcome. All Rights belong to Stephanie Myers. Only I own the character, Christine Anderson, the character I created, and Christine's plotline.

How alec, Johnny and Jane court Cullen reader
Warnings: obsessive behaviour, possessive behaviour, oblivious reader, inexperienced reader, mentions of abuse from Cullens
Alec:
Alec has to be subtle about his affections and intentions with you
Your ‘family’ already hate him, they have since the day Edward was introduced to the volturi and could report to the Cullens every thought alec has had of you
His courting had to remain subtle for his forbidden flower, for his sweet Juliet to his Romeo
He found that at first his best option for being close to you was ask for a dance at one of the balls that the volturi threw for the introductions of new members of big time clans
These balls were for the most part mandatory, meaning your family couldn’t just lock you away and you could spend time with other vampires with minimal fear
Alec would walk to to you with one of the volturi kings next to him so that If you accepted a dance with him, they could distract the Cullens long enough for Alec to slip the two of you onto the ballroom floor
He never was one for dancing before you, coming from a poor village in the medieval times he never really had to learn
Even after joining the volturi, he copied basic moves whenever he had to dance with someone for the sake of politeness
But after meeting you and realising that you came from a different time period to him, he begged some of the female volturi members to teach him some steps to dances from your time
He tried to master them but sometimes you still have to correct him, to which he’ll claim that you must be seeing things to save himself embarrassment
He also tried to learn courting culture from your time, but he never could do with all the politeness from it
He preferred being improper with you, it gave him the opportunity to see the real you
So he’d sneak up to your room after the Cullens locked you up for the night
He’d sneak through the window and the two of you would spend the night talking and laughing together, considering neither of you needed to sleep
It made him feel closer to you, made him feel special to have that time with you
He knew that no one else had that experience with you, and that made his worries of you being taken from him
He’s done everything in his power to make sure the vampire clans know that he has claim on you and is courting you, he’s seen the newer clans looking at you like a piece of meat and he thought it best to show who you belong to
If any others try and intrude on your time together, they’ll be hissed at viciously and the volturi kings will be told of the interference to their plan to match you with either Alec or Jane
His last act of devotion to you was to swear you that he will free you from the Cullens grasp, and you can only pray he’s truthful
Jane:
Jane isn’t the most loving person
She struggles to express most emotions, but showing her adoration and love is the hardest
So she tries to court you in more practical ways, such as acts of service
Anything that you need doing, she will have the task completed by sundown
Your struggling to find clothes because the Cullens only give you childish clothes? Jane had handmade clothes tailored to match and compliment your body type and skin colour and she leaves them in your room for you
You’re thirsty but you don’t have any blood to feed with? Jane killed a human for you two to share during your teatime
She even asks for it to be baked into pastry’s even though neither of you can digest food anymore so you both end up coughing it up
You need entertainment while you’re locked away in your room? Jane will sit outside your door and read your favourite books and poems to you and keep you entertained
She also tries to work on her physical affection for you
She offers you an arm when you walk together through the garden at night, she places her hand over yours when you need comforting, she will place small kisses on your hand when greeting you in private
These are all things she never thought she’d be comfortable with until she met you, so she’s slowly improving in private
When she’s feeling extra possessive, she will cover you head to toe in her signature scent either by spraying you with perfume or briefly holding you and rubbing her cheek against your neck
This means she can put a subtle claim on you to show that you are hers and that anyone who tries to touch you will feel the wrath of her painful stare
Her final act of devotion from when she saw you last was swearing to free you from the Cullens so the two of you could stay near each other forever
She does all of this and yet your still completely oblivious to the affections her and her twin hold for you
Johnny (post meeting you)
Johnnys methods of courting is mainly just trying to help you discover more of yourself and help you separate your identity from the one forced upon you by the Cullens
I suppose it would fall under the category of quality time as he will spend hours upon hours with you helping you learn a new skill or remember an old memory
He helps you acclimate to the more modern parts of society that the Cullens never taught you about, such as dating culture and party culture
He tries to find things for the two of you to do that he thinks you’ll enjoy the most
An example of this is him taking you to a petting zoo and letting you control all the cute animals because it made you feel better then hunting with the Cullens
He also used his power to his advantage and he will shape his shadows to make shadowy animal figures for you to admire
He will also get very secretly proud of himself every time he sees you’ve enjoyed yourself doing an activity he chose out
He’s also very big into PDA as he’s less afraid of what the Cullens will do to him
He’s always got an arm around your shoulders or waist when you walk or he’s holding your hand as you talk to each other
But always with permission, he understands that you can have a slight touch Phobia because of your time with the Cullens
He was also raised as a lord, so all of his courting will subconsciously be very gentlemanly despite his playful and rough persona
So that means the sidewalk rule is being obeyed, he’s always taking your arm when you walk together and he’s always generally acting with honour and decency
He’ll do all this and you’ll still swear that he hates you though
Thoughts guys? 😭

from here on until forever - Demetri Volturi
Demetri Volturi was the first ever guy I had a serious fictional crush on on, like it was bad there were so many scenarios I created in my head but there was one that repeated in my head like a never ending movie
And I'm going to write it now
a timeline through the movies like key moments from each film (that obviously features him and my own plot) and the relationship is slowly going to build from there.
And I plan on posting it in parts so New Moon is part 1.
Character:
Name: Evangeline Swan (picture her as you want)
Sister: Bella Swan
status: human (will be changed)
Vampiric ability : seismic sense (later on)
Mate: Demetri Volturi
word count: 3.7k
and obviously all credit to the author of The Twilight Saga and everyone involved in the process of the movies.
___________________________________________________________
New Moon : The Start of Forever
You were sat in the yellow sports car which Alice Cullen had hijacked and was operating with dangerous speed towards the city of Volterra, Italy, where you knew nothing good was going to expect you when you arrived.
Lush green fields of grass and trees could be seen in your peripheral vision, there was something so scarily calming about it. But of course, Bella was too busy bouncing nervously in the passenger seat to admire the scenery, holding onto the dashboard harshly "I'm guessing you didn't rent his car?" she asked Alice.
You snickered quietly.
of course she didn't
"I figured you wouldn't be opposed to grand theft auto" Alice replied swiftly, briefly glancing over at Bella, who was beginning to look a little nauseous from the curves and pot holes in the road, "Not today" Bella rushed out.
Suddenly, you noticed Alice's eyes begin to glaze over and your curiosity was engaged, she was having a premonition.
Bella caught wind immediately.
"What? What do you see?" Bella asked her vampiric friend, a small hint of anxiety in her voice as she slowly feared for the worst and she had a bad feeling her vampire boyfriend had set some sort of plan in motion.
"Alice, are you okay?" you asked her, speaking up for the first time in a while.
Alice brushed you off, "They refused him" Alice said, narrowing her eyes in concern.
"Sooo" Bella pushed.
"He's going to make a scene, show himself to the humans" Alice said, glancing at both you and Bella
"that can't end well" you mumbled, meeting Alice's eyes in the mirror and having your thought confirmed as Alice nodded her head in agreement whilst keeping a steady eye on the prevailing road conditions ahead, steering the wheel smoothly and precisely.
"No.. when?!" Bella's voice was sharp with angst.
"He's going to wait until noon, when the sun is at it's highest" Alice let out a small gasp as her vision came to an end, making you think that she saw something upsetting.
You may not have liked Edward for all the shit he put Bella through, but you weren't the kind of person who would wish suffering on anyone.
"God Alice, you gotta hurry"
"There's Volterra"
___________________________________________________________
Bella rushed off to save her boyfriend through the sea of red coats, as per the tradition of St. Marcus day, celebrating the expulsion of vampires. You however, stayed with Alice and looked for a spot to leave the stolen vehicle.
Alice turned to look at you seriously as she covered every inch of her exposed skin, which was mostly her face, "Evangeline I want you to listen carefully to me, when we get to the castle do not do anything to attract attention" she said, looking you straight in the eyes.
you nodded wordlessly, worry growing within you as you sat still in the backseat of the car and feeling it come to a halt just behind the massive castle where the Volturi resided.
You weren't going to question her, you were about to step into the layer of vampires and you wanted to do everything in your powers to come out alive.
"Come on, let's go" she said and climbed out of the car, prompting you do the same and following behind her as she navigated through the areas covered with shade.
Time felt like it passes too fast as you were suddenly in front of a door with a very old and wooden looking latch "remember what I said" Alice said suddenly before breaking the latch and opening the door, stepping inside and you following right on her tail.
"Come guys, its a festival, you wouldn't want to cause a scene" Alice said smugly, whilst you awkwardly tried to close the door behind you but giving up after 2 seconds when the stupid thing did not want to listen.
Suddenly, your movement froze and you felt like the small hair on your skin was beginning to dance on the back of your neck, making an intense shiver run down your spine before spreading all over your body like a tsunami devouring anything in its way.
You looked up to find the source of this sensation, skipping over the beautiful old and italien structure when your eyes finally settled on a blonde man, dressed from head to toe in black. What actually caught your attention was his blood red eyes and how hauntingly captivating they were, even more as they met yours.
"Enough" a set of footsteps could be heard clacking on the ground and you watched as a young girl approach, pulling her hood from her head.
"Jane" Edward said quietly, acknowledging her presence.
As Edward's voice registered in your brain, you snapped your eyes away from the beautiful blonde individual and averted them to the ground, a small blush growing on your face in the process.
"Aro sent me to see what was taking so long" the girl, Jane, said and looked over Bella and you with bright and bloody eyes, not as beautiful or inviting as the other ones, before she turned around and began walking back to where she came from.
"Just do what she says" Alice whispered to you as you began to walk alongside her, your breath hitching in your throat as you walked past the blond vampire again, even more so when he started walking next to you.
Your heart was having a personal fiesta in your chest, the pace it was pumping at made you think you were about to fall to the floor from cardiac arrest, and it was all because of him.
Butterflies grew rampantly fast in your stomach, your fingers trembled as almost irresistible itch to just "accidentally" touch them to his was difficult to shove aside and your entire body felt like it was coming alive
And no words had even been exchanged yet.
After an elevator ride with a charged atmosphere, you found yourself walking down stone made stairs, the staircase being dimly lit by the light just outside the door.
You tuned out the small conversation Edward and Bella shared, choosing to primarily focus on not tripping and making a horrible first impression on the beautiful you may or may not already have a crush on.
You felt your neves growing as the more you felt like you approaching the belly of the beast that were the 3 king of the Volturi, especially since Alice told you the stories of what happens those who are exposed to the world of vampires of if you betray it.
The receptionist greeting you as you walked out had you snapped out of your thoughts and your eyes, on their own accord, flittered back to the breathtaking individual who walked beside you.
But the off-putting thought? she was human.
"is she human?" bella asked not-so-quietly, looking at Edward in his fancy red robe which you thought looked ridiculous on him.
"Yes"
"Does she know?"
"yes"
"Then why would-" Bella cut herself as realization dawned on her, "she wants to be".
"And so she will be" a shiver went down your spine as you heard him speak for the very first time, and it made your heart palpate faster. His voice was the right amount of deep and adorned with an english accent, making him all the more enticing.
You felt like there was an invisible cord pulling you with a prepostourley strong force towards him, and the more you tried to heed Alice's warnings about the Volturi, you find yourself beginning to lean more and more in the opposite direction.
Suddenly, a hand snaked its way across your back and settled itself on your waist, tracing small and delicate circles on whatever exposed skin was accessible to him. Almost as if to assure that you won't be hurt as long as he was there.
And the surprising part? you felt safe with him.
"Or dessert" Jane said and you found yourself being glad that you were protected.
Jane pushed open two gigantic wooden double doors and walked into a massive throne and of course, on two majestic chairs sat the 3 volturi kings.
Aro, Caius and Marcus.
Aro seemed to be excited.
Caius was glaring at visitors with annoyance and anger.
Marcus looked... well, rather somber.
Alice had tried to grab your arm and make you go in the same direction as her, the beautiful was quicker and pulled you closer with whilst moving to somewhere in the back of the room and away from the action.
Bella sent you a questioning glance, wondering what you were doing but you had no answer for her so you just shrugged your shoulders and smiled reassuringly at her.
"What a happy surprise! Bella is alive after all" Aro said, his tone chipper as he clapped his hands together, a little too chipper for greeting someone who knew about the existence of vampires...
"Isn't that wonderful? I love a happy ending" you watched Aro approach Bella and Edward, biting your lip in anxiety as your sister was dangerously close to having her life ended.
You weren't aware of it, but your hand subconsciously grabbed ahold of his sleeve and squeezed the material tightly in your grasp.
Aro grabbed ahold of Edwards hand, "they are so rare" he said before his eyes widened and glazed over and it reminded you of when Alice experiences one of her visions .
"La tua cantante, both of the swan sisters" he said, eyes flickering over to you in an instant with newfound curiosity bright in his eye before he decided to make his way over to you.
"My dear Demetri, it seems as though you found your mate" He said, stopping in front of you and looking you dead in the eye, making you shift a little closer to you to seek safety.
"So thats his name, Demetri. Suits him beautifully" you thought yourself.
"Yes my lord" Demetri said, his grip on your waist tightening ever so slightly but enough to make you crave more and be closer to him, even if you didn't understand why you wanted to close to someone who eats your kind for breakfast.
Aro's eyes go to you and you freeze, you couldn't decipher that look in his eyes, curiosity but combined with something else and you weren't sure if you wanted to know... or witness.
"Their blood appeals to you both" he started and you noticed a change in his facial expression "it makes me thirsty" you froze and moved closer to Demetri almost automatically.
"Aro can read every thought you've ever had, with one touch" Edward interjects, his voice making you startle in surprise and your gaze went to him, seeing that he's had his eye on you and Demetri, as well as Alice and you sent her a small smile to let her know you were okay.
Aro turned to look at him "you are quite a soul reader yourself, Edward. No, you can't read Bella's thoughts" he glanced at Bella another time "fascinating"
"I would love to see if you are an exception to my gift as well, would do me the hohor?" Aro extends his hand to Bella and you watch her take a tentative step forward, placing her hand in his.
You watch with nervousness and anxiety as Aro lowers his head and closes his hand, most likely trying to rifle through her memories one by one but he won't be successful, you knew that.
"Interesting" he pauses.
"I see nothing".
Maybe that was a good thing.
Aro takes a few steps backwards, interlacing his hands in thought "let us see if she is immune to all our powers" he says and an unsettling grin grew on his face as he looks at jane "shall we, jane?" and you could swear your heart leaps into your throat and panic consumes you.
"No please don't" you breathed and surged out of demetris hold and towards your sister but strong arms wrapped around your frame in an instant and coiled tightly, immobilizing any movement and leaving you thrashing to get away.
"No" Edward growled and lunged at jane, only to freeze on the stop and his body begins to contort painfully, as if his body was being squeezed into a little ball and he falls to his knees.
"Stop" Bella demanded with a fearful tone "no please stop" she pleaded and tried to run to edwards side but was stopped by Jane's brother, Alec.
"Stop, just stop hurting him please, please" her voice grew louder every second that edward appeared to be in more pain, his face completely strained as he fought against the onslaught waves of pain Jane sent in his direction with one steely eyed glare.
"Jane" Aro said that Jane obeyed instantly, stopping her ministrations against edward.
"Go ahead, my dear" aro said eerily softly and suddenly, Jane looked at Bella with excitement.
"This may hurt just a little" she said calmly and you began thrashing in demetris hold again when you realised what was going to happen
"please let me go" you pleaded quietly as you watched Bella prepare herself, a look of determination in her eyes and much like a python, the more you moved in his arms, the tighter he held you to him "please calm down mia cara, she won't come to harm" he whispered softly in your ear, his voice warm and somehow comforting and it sent shivers down your spine.
Aro lets out a laugh and claps his hands "Remarkable" he breathed "she confounds us all".
"So, what do we do with you now?" then, he looked at you.
"With both of you?".
you huddled closer to demetri at the threatening glint in Aros eyes, almost doing it instinctively.
"You already know what you are going to do Aro" the oldest and kind of depressed-looking spoke up first with a monotonous tone in his voice, as if this whole ordeal bored him.
The blonde king spoke next "They know too much, they're a liability" he said before glancing at you "the younger swan will be spared as she is Demetri's mate, but she has to be turned" he demanded and your stomach tightened with dread.
did you want to be changed? were you really willing to throw a whole chapter of your life away to be with someone you met an hour ago?
Aro sighed wistfully "thats true" he agreed before casting a glance to a burly vampire, giving him a look "Felix" was all he said and Bella was released from Alecs grip
only to be flipped so she was standing protected behind Edward and he lunges at Felix, tackling him to the floor with ferocity and then you felt a rush of wind, suddenly feeling cold.
You looked to the side and saw that Demetri had a hand wrapped around Alices throat in a vice-like grip, not letting her escape and you frowned, she must've tried to intervene.
But with Demetri guarding Alice, you felt exposed and unsafe in a room full of vampires which would easily kill you if given the command, damn you really got comfy in his arms.
Every time edward was slammed into the marble floors, small and tiny cracks grew along his skin, like a porcelain vase that was beginning to shatter and you winced as the cracks and tears grew louder.
And then Felix had him in a headlock, ready to tear off his head and bella let out a cry of desperation "Please, no, no, please, plese!" she cried and aro gave the command to stop felix, hearing the plea in her voice "kill me, kill me, not him" she rushed out and inhaled shakily.
your head turned faster than a cobra striking its pray, you couldn't believer her words, how easily she was willing to give up her life for the man she loved but what about you? were you at the center of her priorities too?
"Bella no, don't say that" you breathed and fought the rising tears as you went to stand by her side but you only got a glare from your sister, so this is what it came to be.
Suddenly becoming a vampire didn't seem like the worst idea.
Aro stalked towards bella with slow and deliberate steps, a confused yet a look of awe in his eyes "how extraordinary, you would give up your life for someone like us, a vampire, a soulless monster"
shivers went down your spine and a burning sensation tingled by the back of your head, you turned your head to look and saw demetri had his eyes trained on you whilst still having focus on keeping Alice captive with is hand wrapped firmly and tightly around her throat.
Guilt consumed you when your first thought was not centred around Alice and her safety but rather the man who had the potential to cause her harm if she so much as she attempted to squirm and break free, the thought of that was enough to get you to turn your head and focus on Bella and Edward again.
But all you then saw was a blur wizzing forward and slamming into another member of the Volturi and you quickly realised edward pounced on him, most likely to protect bella.
(skipping ahead)
Edward was spared from being destroyed and stood with Bella once again and Demetri stood by you again, an arm wrapped securely around your waist.
"let us be done with this, heidi will arrive any moment"
the old and frail-looking king spoke up as he stood up slowly "thank you for your visit" he said slowly with a deep rasp in his voice and then then the blonde king spoke up.
"I would advise that you follow through with your promise soon, we do not offer second chances" he said with a sneer on his face, emphasizing the word "chances" to make it sound more menacing you were sure.
Demetri let go of you momentarily to open the giant double doors and led you and the others out of the throne room "goodbye my young friends" Aro said from behind but you did not once stop to think to turn around, you just kept walking and followed demetri.
"Nice fishing, heidi" you heard demetri say and you looked up, a beautiful vampiric woman in a red dress walked past your group with a sea of tourists following right behind her, mumbling curiously and admiring the architecture of the palace and it appeared as though they were completely oblivious that they were being lead to their deaths.
maybe it was better that way, a quick and swift death.
"yes they do look rather juicy" Heidi replied and sent a smirk in his direction and an emotion that mimicked jealousy (or actual jealousy) rose within you, did she have thing for him? but you shook those thoughts away.
and then the screaming and shouting came.
you froze and wanted to turn around to observe what was happening but demetri snaked an arm around your waist and pulled you close to him "don't look its not for the faint of heart, mia cara" his soft voice met your ear and heat rushed down your spine at the close proximity, the effect he had on you making you slowly forget.
A few minutes later and you were outside, the warm sun beaming down on you and you welcomed it without hesitation, breathing in the fresh air and relaxed.
"It's time we go home" Alice stood next to you, a hand on your shoulder as she gave you a soft smile.
you bit your lip in thought, eyes flickering over to demetri.
for whatever reason, the thought of leaving him was like going through a heartbreak and it was like your whole body was protesting and fighting hard against it, leaving him felt like a gloomy cloud was descending upon you and your world would shrouded in darkness.
"2 seconds alice" you told her quietly and stepped over to demetri, your heart hammering violently in your chest.
"what happens now?" was the first thing you asked him as you looked up at his beautiful face, his beautiful red eyes looking down at you with a certain softness and fondness you didnt think you'd ever on a vampires face.
"We will be together again, and I understand that you must return home" He spoke with understanding as he delicately placed his hand on your cheek, stroking the skin softly like you were the most precious thing he had in his possession.
Which is kind of true given your human nature and his vampire.
a sad and small smile rose on your lips as you subconsciously leaned into his touch, his hand burrowing itself gently in your hair "I look forward to it" you whispered before stepping back, his hand falling from your head and you immediately missed his touch.
"we'll see each other sooner than you think, mia cara"
"this is only the start".
and with that, you turned and left with the others and you were damn sure that you wouldn't ever forget him.

"The meat smells divine today" Felix practically hums out. Whenever the tours came it gave us some kind of excitement. Not that any of us would admit it, we were all so bored. I in a way admired Felix's ability to make excitement from anything even though it could be immature at times. Alec and Jane kept themselves preoccupied in ways that I could tolerate but took years to stomach. I on the otherhand kept myself satisfied with the best thing the world has to offer..women. But even that lately has not had the same effect it usually has for me.
"Hmm" I merely acknowledged until I stopped in my tracks when I smelled the group that was coming. It did smell divine but not how the tours usually smell.
This was different.
It was also extremely overpowering. I wanted to search for and ravish whoever the smell belonged to. Fresh oranges, sweet wine, lavender and ink.
"You can tell someone from this group is rather tasty can't you" Could Felix smell it? Did he feel as I did at this moment? The craving of something unknown. But we were about to find out as the group entered the hall. Me and Felix moved to the side by the assistants desk. The group strolled in with Heidi at the front as usual.
"Demetri" She said sultry trying to get my attention as I didn't even spare her glance worth while. I scanned the group it felt like it went on forever of unwanted faces until my eyes found her.
It was her scent. She wore a orange scented perfume, she just had a glass of wine for lunch, her floral flowy dress was lavender scented from cleaning and she had small smudges of ink on her almost spotless delicate hands.
It all made her so intoxicating.
She was stunning. With her long, slightly wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, and a curvy hourglass figure that was complemented by her slender frame.
"Now she's a tasty little thing" Felix said a little too loud that she had to have heard it but her expression did not change from the somewhat bored one she had. I realized she wasn't in awe nor had the enthusiastic interest that everyone else in the tour group had by Heidi's power of persuasion. Then I watched as her eyes darted to something in the side hallway making her leave the group.
"Well thats rare" Felix somewhat interested in the human making a move in her direction before my arm shot up.
"I got it, I'll meet you in the throne room" Without looking at him I make my way towards her.
I watch her as she is analyzing or I should say scrutinizing the Portrait of a Young Man painting. It wasn't my favorite painting of Raphael's but I didn't think it deserved the amount of scrutiny she was giving it. Her nose scrunched, the lines on her forehead and her eyes almost closed by how hard she was trying to see the even smallest details of the painting.
"Give peace a chance..Let the fear you have fall away" I jumped slightly at the sudden angelic melodic voice that came from her as she stepped back trying to look at it from a different angle. Her hands rested at her bag that laid on her hip preparing to open it. I faked a cough to make my presence known but she did not turn to me as she took her phone out from her purse. I moved towards her quickly taking her phone from her before she was able to take a picture.
"Umm excuse me" She said in a sweet surprised voice as she turned to me. If I had a breath it would have stopped as I looked into her eyes.
They were so blue they reminded me of the Aegean Sea.
They reminded me of a home I once knew and I thought long forgotten.
"What's wrong with your eyes?" She said gently grabbing her phone from my hand. My eyes looked like hers once I think. Now they're not as pretty.
"It's a medical condition...you shouldn't have left the group" She placed her hair behind her ear showing a white plug in it. She took it out.
"Is this real?" She pointed to the painting. She hasn't broken eye contact from me nor my eyes from her. This was quite an anomaly for me.
"Yes what makes you question the authenticity?"I say amused by this creature. I usually take human girls in the privacy of dark corners and be done with it. But her...I wanted to make this last.
"Well for one it's been lost for almost a hundred years, this is a Raphael painting correct?" She says trying to be polite but about to burst from this discovery she found.
"Correct, artist are you?" I said conversational but she precedes to put the plug back in her ear. She turns from me much to my displeasure as I watched her hips start to sway away from me.
"Architect major with an art history minor" She said walking in the opposite direction of where she should be going but stopping in her tracks almost immediately at the next painting. She does the same act as the last much to my amusement. She starts huffing in and out analyzing every detail of the Nativity with St. Francis and St. Lawrence. I make my way over to her. My shoulder an inch from hers as I stood facing the painting as she did. She gives me a side eye understanding I wasn't going to leave her. She goes to her ear pressing on the plugs.
"Is this a replica?" She says now finally suspicious of her surroundings if she wasnt before.
"They're all real...love" I stare down at her as she comes closer to me. Every fiber of my being was restraining myself from ending this. I wanted to relish this, savoring it like one does a fine wine.
"Are you in the mafia?" She whispers and I laugh heartily at the question.
"Now what would give you that idea?" I say coyly as I lean closer to her, my eyes landing on her slender neck. Her pretty little neck.
"Because this painting was supposedly stolen by the mafia" She said matter a factly moving from me realizing how close I was to her. I clenched my jaw at the distance between us. I wanted us closer. I had the feeling even if I skin to skin with her wouldn't be close enough for me. But she seemed absolutely uninterested in me, enamored with what was around her.
"Violet, blue, green, red to keep me at arm's length don't work..You try to push me out..But I just find my way back in...Violet, blue, green, red to keep me out...I win" She gives a mumbled hum of the words not fully singing them out knowing that I'm there close behind. She accepts that fact along with that all the paintings she sees are real. She doesn't analyze them viciously like she did before. Now just taking them in like they should be. But I am analyzing every detail of her. The flutter of her eyelashes, the curve of her hip and the way her hair bounces as she walks. She turns her head to me behind her, giving me an excellence view of her perfectly structured jawline.
"Are you art thieves?" She says innocently genuinely curious. I chuckle at her guess. I look at her ear looking at the plug realizing sound was coming from them.
"What are those things?" She looked at me confused. I lift my hand slowly towards her tapping the back of my finger lightly against one of the plugs.
"Oh..they're airpods" She looked at me like it was the most obvious thing in the world and I had absolutely no idea "they're like earplugs or headphones." I mouthed a little "oh" as she let out a little giggle at my ignorance.
"I'll have to warn Heidi about those" I say more to myself as me and her walked side by side down the hall, further and further away from the throne room. We're getting close to a intersection, one hall leads to a cellar and the other leads to an exit. Decisions...Decisions.
"Was Heidi the lady in charge of the tour?" I simply nod while I think of the fact this girls life is in my hands. Do I truly want to snuff out the sun? I'm quite thoughtful about the decision as I firmly placed my hands behind my back.
"She's kinda an airhead isn't she?" I whip my head towards her uncontrollably crackling at her statement.
"Heidi?" I say absolutely bewildered by the statement. I don't think Heidi has ever been described as an airhead?
"Well I know that is kinda mean. I really am not into girl shaming but..she has all this to show"She twirled around then kept walking "and she said a lot of words with really nothing of substance behind them. I did listen a little to her in and out...I don't know I preferred music over her" My hands tighten behind my back as I stare at her. Her hair when she spun I got a delightful whiff of her shampoo.Citrus. Fresh oranges. Her blood would taste so sweet.
"Like this castle has to be from the 12th century-" She looked at me curiously as I stared at her clavicle. That would be a wonderful place to take a first bite.
"11th" I muttered out. We made it to the intersection, cellar for a drink or exit for her life.
"Oh" She tilted her head up to the ceiling an spun slowly on her heel around "I can picture that..there is some roman designs" She smiled to herself. Her eyes sparkled. It's funny I lived in this castle going on a thousand years and always found it a dull place mostly except when we used to have parties. But in one day she saw the beauty in it.
"Are you a lover of Artemisia Gentileschi?" I asked as she was about to turn down the hallway to the cellar, stopped to look at me.
"Yes...why?" She smirked cutely. I smile at her for giving me that answer. I take her hand in mine and lead her through the hallway with the exit.
"Hey how do I know you're not taking me in some dark room to have your way with me" She said half jokingly. I just smirk to myself. She would be so delicious but for some reason it seems like it would be a waste. It wouldn't even be a minute before her life would be gone and she would be gone. Her beauty, her smile, her voice..everything about her I could just take in an instant if I chose to.
"Your hand is so cold" She did a little tug on it. I turn to her and say nothing. I stare in her eyes for a moment and she looks at me amused.
"So if I'm ever found alive and they ask me the name of the assailant, what should I tell them?" I winced as she dropped her hand from mine before the question. I wanted her to touch me.
"Demetri"I slowly drawl out "And when I see your face on the news what name will I see?"
"Nina" It almost came out as a whisper but I heard it. As I also could hear the screams start but she didn't seem to hear them.
"Here we are" I stop in front of our designated painting and she started to laugh at it. The Madonna and the child was one of our many Artemisia Gentileschi paintings but Jane had all of her famous ones on the other side of the castle that was where I didnt want her to be.
"Really out of her paintings this is the one you have?" She giggles as I just look down at my shoes like a boy. She does stop giggling to appreciate the painting eventually.
"She looks so tired" She says more to herself than to me. Then I really look at the painting myself to see what she means. I see it too in the mother's eyes. I never noticed that before probably never cared. I watch her as she looks over the painting really taking in ever detail of it.
"You should paint me it would last longer" I look down again with a smirk.
"Can I?" I say more flirting than serious. She turns to me blushing and my smirk deepens.
"What am I going to be your Rose to you Jack?" She leans closer to me making start to tense even though I was taken back by the reference. I need to brush up on current entertainment.
"Ahh-" I freeze as I can sense someone coming.
I look behind me seeing the reason why we're here..the exit.
I take her hand and hurry her to the door. We go down stairs and stairs. I have to be mindful of my speed seeing I had to keep a human one. Something came over me that I had to get her out that was my only thought at this moment.
"Where are we going?" But her question is answered when I open a door to the outside practically throwing her out. Then the sun light making me step back into the darkness.
"Wait" She places her hand on the door before I close it and I didn't want to hurt her.
"Will I see you again?" She almost whines out.
"Yes but don't come back here..meet me at the front of the clock tower at night fall...goodbye" I said it quickly as I slowly closing the door.
"Goodbye" I heard quietly right before the door closed. I regretted how it ended but there was reasoning behind the abrupt departing.
"Well this is quite unusual behavior...for you" Felix leaned against the wall at the top of the stairs.
"The girl didn't hear or see anything, no laws were broken" I say stiffly making my way past him.
"That may be but the why is what I'm curious about" he hanged his head over my shoulder mischievously. He wasn't going to let this go.
"It just felt like a waste" I shrug looking almost dazed not wanting to think what I had just done and the why.
"A waste...yes a waste of food. Bloody Demetri if you didn't want her you could've given her to me. But Im surprised why didnt you want her?"He was going to nag and nag until he got an answer to his liking.
"I wanted her...but it just felt as it would have been to quick" This was making me nervous. I haven't felt nervous since the incident with the Cullens. But this was a different kind of nervous, I was worried for her.
"Fine then I'll meet her later at the clock tower-" If on instinct I slammed Felix against the wall my hand around his throat.
"She's mine...I'll take care of it" I shove him back stalking away.
She was mine.
I hated to admit it but I knew it to be true.
She is my cantante.

Meeting His Soulmate
Word Count: 3099 | Pairing: Caius Volturi x OC (Bella's twin sister) | Genre: Fluff
Summary: After the failed attempt of ending the Cullens once and for all, Caius wanders around Port Angeles and meets someone he didn't expect to meet in his eternal life.
A/N: This is my first time writing here on Tumblr outside of Kpop so please be easy on me🙈 It's been a while since I've written outside of Kpop...
He hated this place. It was raining all the time, filled with polluted air with the sound of intoxicated humans and their loudness. His lips curled into a sneer as he had to stay in the area while waiting for their private jet to be ready for takeoff.
This was ridiculous because it should be expected by now to prepare these things beforehand. He did not want to stay longer in this place after a failed attempt to get rid of the Cullens and their hybrid child.
“Brother,” Aro’s voice interrupted his loathing thoughts, “why don't you go out and have a quick snack? I'm sure by the time you return, we'll be ready to leave.”
“Eat here in this disgusting place?” Caius scoffed, motioning to Port Angeles with a flick of his wrist. “I don't want to risk getting whatever disease these humans here have.”
“Either way!” Aro waved off, “Have a little browse, your loathing is extending to us and I don't want to be feeling this after our exciting meeting with our dear Cullens.”
With a small snarl of annoyance, Caius flitted away from the coven, Demetri and Felix trailing behind their king.
Port Angeles was small, there was nothing to pique the Volturi King's interest other than solidifying his impression of humans in this century as being loud, disgusting, and polluted.
As he was about to flit down another street, his enhanced hearing picked up on the sound of two people in a scuffle. Since there wasn't any battle with the Cullens, he might as well witness a downgraded battle between two humans.
He hid in the darkness of an empty alleyway, across from the one with two people in a scuffle. His eyes zeroed in on the humans, noting it was an older man harassing a young woman. “Let go of me!” the woman hissed, fighting with all her might against the man.
“Why don't you just be a good girl and be still!” The disgusting excuse of a man grunted, trying to hold down her hands.
Caius was not impressed with the sight.
“Master,” Demetri called from a distance, “do you want us to detain them?”
“Why not,” he drawled nonchalantly. “This is the most interesting thing to happen in a while. We can end it, unlike the Cullens.” At his consent, Demetri and Felix were a blur going past the king, easily separating the humans and holding their arms behind their backs to await Caius' orders.
Caius casually strolled to the opposite alleyway, eyes glinting with sadistic glee as he could almost taste the fear from the humans. He strode to the male human, eyeing him from head to toe. The man was filthy, reeking of alcohol and whatever junk food he ate. He stared at Caius with fear, struggling with all his might to escape. It made the corner of Caius' lips quirk up in amusement. “Pathetic,” he hissed. He moved on to the next human, the young woman.
The first thing he saw was her chocolate brown eyes full of caution and small hints of fear. It intrigued him that fear wasn't the dominant emotion in her eyes like with the man. But that wasn't what made him pause, though. It was the fact he felt something prod at his cold dead heart for the first time in centuries.
For a moment, it felt like his heart came to life when he connected his eyes with her.
It can't be…
He furrowed his brows, eyeing her head to toe as he did with the man. But unlike with the man, Caius found himself checking over her for injuries. Hatred seethed through him when he noticed the bruises on her wrists after he silently told Demetri to release her.
Instinctively, his hands reached for her fragile wrists, observing the bruises. The woman barely flinched at his cold touch but allowed him to analyse the injuries.
“Are you hurt?” Caius found himself asking her quietly. Why, he had no idea.
“O-Only a little bit…” she whispered, nodding to her wrists. That was enough for him.
In a blink, he whirled around and grabbed the man by his neck, lifting him in the air easily with Felix releasing his hold on the human.
The man's hands flew to Caius', choking for breath.
“Pathetic, harming her for your selfish greed!” Caius snarled, tightening the hold on the human who was turning red. “You shall pay -”
“Stop!” The woman appeared in front of him, hands pressed to his chest for his attention - attention he immediately gave much to his confusion and dismay. “Stop!” she pleaded. “Don't kill him!”
“Why shouldn't I?” Caius tilted his head. “He harmed you, don't you want him to be gone from this place?”
“I don't want him to die! Yes, he should get punished, but not with death!”
“Oh, how naive and innocent you are,” the King tutted.
“I'm not stooping to his level of harming someone!” she retorted. That made him pause. “We can…we can report him to the police,” she stuttered, “He can get his punishment there. But no death. It's not necessary, I'm okay, he didn't hurt me much.”
Caius observed her, checking for any hints of fear or her lying - but there was nothing. He saw honesty in her, and that baffled him.
“He could have hurt you much more if I didn’t intercept.”
“Well, he didn’t.” She remained firm.
“If that is what you wish…” And with that, he dropped the man on the floor carelessly.
Ignoring the man coughing and heaving for oxygen, Caius focussed all his attention on the human…who still had her hands on his chest from trying to stop him from killing the man. He found himself okay with her touch, but nonetheless, he raised an eyebrow and motioned to her hands. She reeled back embarrassed.
“What is your name?”
“E-Elizabeth Swan -”
“Swan?” Caius barely held in a grimace. “Are you related to Isabella Swan?”
“Bella,” Elizabeth corrected habitually, “and she's a Cullen now. You know her?”
“Mutual acquaintances,” he replied dryly. “What is your relationship with them?”
“Well, Bella is my twin sister, and the Cullens are my in-laws, I guess,” she shrugged.
“Are you close with the Cullens?” Did she know about vampires?
“N-Not really, I mainly stay away from all the drama and attention…”
She didn't know about vampires…right?
Before he could delve deeper into his musings, the human man calling for help in his strained voice made him focus on the current situation. “Are you sure you don't want him dead?”
“No!” she replied automatically with a disappointed frown. “No unnecessary deaths.”
“Strange human…” Caius muttered lowly under his breath for her not to hear, but he nonetheless listened to her request, ordering Felix to grab the human male. “Lead the way to the…police, then.”
“Y-You don't know where it is?”
“I'm not from here,” he replied blandly, walking beside her with Felix, Demetri, and the scared human man behind them.
“I can definitely see that…” she eyed him suspiciously. “Why are you here? How do you know about Bella and the Cullens? And before, you lifted that man easily - why are your eyes red?”
“So many questions,” he sighed, looking ahead. “You and your sister have the same curiosity that will kill you in the end.”
“Hey!”
“Let's just bring this filth to the police and we can talk afterwards,” Caius decided. She wanted to argue back but knew it wasn't the right choice - the man before her screamed power and danger, and she felt like he was barely holding back his pent-up emotions, so she stayed quiet.
Surprisingly, the visit to the police station went smoothly, with the vampires using their smooth talking to have the police do what they wanted. “HELP! PLEASE!” the now-criminal yelled while fighting against the policeman's hold. “THEY'RE FREAKS - SOMETHING IS UP WITH THEM, LOOK AT THEIR EYES!”
“Contacts,” Demetri explained casually, “We just attended a costume party.”
“Once everything settles, come back here and end that man's life,” Caius ordered in Italian with their vampiric speed. “We cannot risk him spreading rumours.”
Felix and Demetri bowed their heads in understanding.
“What about the girl?” Felix nodded to Elizabeth who stood beside Caius, oblivious to their conversation as she was deep in thought.
“I'll handle it. For now, keep your distance unless I call for you.” With another bow, the two guards disappeared.
Elizabeth looked around, having felt the wind go by from their speed. “W-Where did the other two go?” she wondered.
“They're around,” Caius replied, “but let's talk. You have questions.” And I have some myself concerning you and why you're making me feel weird…
○-○-○
So far, he could see Elizabeth knew nothing of the supernatural world…hopefully. She may be Bella’s twin, but they live different lives. Bella was frolicking with vampires and shifters, while Elizabeth spent her time alone listening to music, painting, writing, reading, and composing music herself. Elizabeth was an outcast and felt like she never fit in anywhere, so she kept to herself. Even with the Cullens, she didn't feel comfortable being around them for long and only hung around them when necessary.
She didn't know that Renesmee was Bella’s biological daughter, and she didn't know that Bella was a vampire. Caius was impressed that the coven managed to keep their secret from Bella’s twin, as he knew twins held a special connection from what he saw with Jane and Alec.
Bella’s love and protectiveness must be strong for Elizabeth…but it was all a waste in the end since Elizabeth was Caius Volturi’s mate.
He didn't expect this. He didn't expect this at all.
He thought he was just doing these things for entertainment since nothing interesting had happened recently - but that wasn't the truth. He couldn't believe it.
Elizabeth Swan was his mate.
Talking to the human late at night in a 24-hour Cafe made him realise that she wasn't just the twin sister to Bella Cullen, but she was his mate.
The strange feeling in his heart when he connected eyes with her the first time, the wrath and hatred he had when realising she got hurt by the human filth, wanting to kill him. The fact he listened to her request to not kill the man (even though he was planning to have him killed still to protect their kind), and the fact he found himself enjoying talking to her and not wanting to leave her yet.
He couldn't believe his mate was related to the enemies.
Or maybe they weren’t mates? He did have a wife back in Volterra - but their marriage was simply for politics…right?
But as he sat in the Cafe with the woman, he couldn't deny this strange feeling towards her. “Get Marcus,” Caius demanded in vampiric speed under his breath, knowing his guards were nearby. He wanted to check with Marcus the depth of the connection between him and the human before him. Whether it was worth it, to tell the truth of their kind or to leave her be.
“I've just been answering your questions about me,” Elizabeth pulled him away from his thoughts. “Can I ask you questions?”
“You can try…” he answered warily.
“Are you the ‘cold ones’?”
Caius froze.
“Bella bought a book a year or two ago on some legends,” Elizabeth shared to him calmly, “I read it when she was with Edward on a random day, and…the things described there match with you…the red eyes are a giveaway as well.”
He didn't say anything and just stared at her.
“I've known about the ‘cold ones’ since then,” she admitted meekly, “I know what the Cullens are - I dunno why their eyes are gold though - and I know Bella…Bella became one…I'm her twin, I know when something is up…but I stay quiet because I know she just wants to protect me. But yeah…I probably sound crazy right now, don't I.”
“You do,” he deadpanned. Her shoulders sagged in defeat and embarrassment. “...if you were talking to someone else.” She perked up. “You're correct in your assumptions. Vampires exist. Your twin is one, like the Cullens, and I am one myself…” He leaned closer to her from across the table they were sitting in the corner of the room. “Are you scared?”
He heard her hold her breath the closer he got to her face, heart thumping rapidly. But despite that, he could see she wasn't scared at all. “No,” she answered, proving his observation to be correct.
“Why?”
“Because the Cullens haven't harmed me, and neither have you. You haven't given me a reason to fear you.”
“Just because the Cullens haven’t harmed you doesn’t mean others will follow,” Caius frowned. “Did you not see me strangle that filth before?” Caius wondered. “I lifted him easily with one hand. My guards grabbed you in the blink of an eye - we were planning to end both of your lives -”
“Why didn't you?” she inquired, seeming to remind herself to start breathing once he backed off at her question. “You didn't kill me. Why?”
“I couldn't.”
“Why?”
“Because…” I don't know.
“Because?”
“Soulmate…” Marcus whispered from somewhere in the distance, making his appearance known to Caius. “You have found your soulmate…congratulations.”
Soulmate…the rarest pair in the supernatural…it’s somewhat easier to find your mate - but to find a soulmate, that only happens to the lucky ones.
And Caius found his. By accident.
I almost killed her and would have drank her dry…
“No, it's not!” Caius hissed in reply to Marcus. “She's human!”
“What?” Elizabeth was confused at the random outburst. Caius shook his head, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“I couldn't kill you,” he answered slowly, closing his eyes. “Once I connected eyes with you…I couldn't.”
“But why?”
“Because…we're…” he struggled to tell her, in disbelief that his revelation was true. This was not part of his schedule that day. He wanted the Cullens to be ended that day. Not find a soulmate he never thought of having.
Elizabeth waited patiently for him.
“What do you know of soulmates?” he blurted out roughly.
“...not much…just that soulmates are those who are destined to be, right?”
“Right…”
“Are we…are we…soulmates?” she asked nervously.
“...yes.”
“...oh…”
“Mh-hm..”
They were silent for a few seconds.
“What a first meeting, huh?” she joked lightly. “Our first meeting is with you saving my life -”
“Almost killing you and becoming my snack,” Caius corrected with furrowed brows.
“Hm, that isn’t what I saw in my perspective,” she shrugged. “On my side, you saved me from a dangerous man who was about to do something to me.”
“True, but my intentions weren’t -”
“That’s your side. My side happens to be brighter and better.”
“What?” Caius did not understand her.
Elizabeth merely grinned.
“You are definitely related to Bella,” he commented dryly. “Both of you are clueless when it comes to facing danger.”
“Wha - hey!”
He wouldn’t admit it out loud to anyone, but he found it quite fun to tease her.
○-○-○
They spoke for another hour at the cafe, mainly to plan how their relationship was going to proceed from there. Elizabeth was against dropping everything to go to Italy with him, so he had no choice but to concede to long distance as they got to know more about each other. He couldn’t just drop everything either, he was one of the Kings in the vampire world, and he had responsibilities - once Elizabeth pointed out the similarities they had, he agreed to long distance.
He also had to sort out the business with his wife in Volterra - which he told Elizabeth about, her surprisingly being understanding about it.
Before he knew it, they stood outside the cafe with a taxi waiting for Elizabeth on the curb. “Keep in contact,” she reminded the Volturi King. “I would like to get to know more about you.”
“As will I,” he returned cordially. “I must mention though, I do plan to visit you more since you refuse to visit me -”
“My dad would not like the idea of me suddenly taking trips to Italy with the small money I have -”
“I can easily prepare the tickets -”
“Do you even want to meet my Dad now? We barely know each other, it would be weird and suspicious for him if he heard some guy is buying me tickets to go to Italy,” she pointed out. He scowled at that - he was not just ‘some guy’. “He already dislikes Edward -”
“Not my problem -”
“Caius,” she scolded. “Be patient, please. It’s a lot to take in. I think some distance is good just in case.”
He sighed at that. She had no idea how soulmates worked…
“Visit me,” she invited. “I’ll be more than willing to meet you here. And when we know each other more, and more comfortable with each other, then…then I’ll consider going to Italy.”
“...fine…” he gave in with a grumble.
“Here!” Rummaging through her backpack, she ripped out a piece of paper from her notebook and scribbled numbers down. “Here’s my phone number. You can contact me there.” He accepted the paper with two hands, making sure to hold it firmly. The taxi beeped at them as a reminder, Caius sending a glare at the driver.
“Thanks for saving me before, and it’s nice to meet you,” Elizabeth farewelled. “I’ll talk to you soon?”
“Talk to you soon,” he nodded, opening the taxi door for her. One last goodbye and she was on her way back home. Felix and Demetri appeared behind him, Marcus appearing beside him. “Felix, Demetri.”
“Yes, Master?”
“I need a cell phone. Get me one or else.”
“Yes, Master.” And they were gone again.
“It is a blessing to meet your soulmate,” Marcus told him in his low, airy voice. Caius hummed. “She will help you in many ways. Your bond to each other is strong.”
“She’s human.”
“In time, she’s still young like young Bella.”
“Hm.”
“Give it a chance,” Marcus encouraged him. “Very rare do we have a chance to find our soulmate and be with them.” They all thought of Didyme, and Caius felt slightly remorseful for taking his situation for granted when there was Marcus who was suffering from losing his love of his life.
“Of all people, it was someone connected to the Cullens,” the blonde King grunted. “Now there’s no way we can get rid of the Cullens, for it will hurt Elizabeth immensely.”
“You will have to talk to her at one point about that, by the way.”
“...hm…” He was not keen on that conversation.

Last Christmas
Pairing: Felix x Female!Reader
Summary: This year, to save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special
Warnings: smut. p in v, Dom!Felix, spanking, blood play, oral (f! receiving), unprotected sex
With Thanksgiving over and my birthday on the horizon, the Christmas season has started for me (though tbh I am in fact one of those people who loves Christmas year round). So enjoy this celebratory story!
"This is a disaster," you complain to no one in particular. "I can't believe I got roped into this."
When Gianna approached you about attending her work's Christmas party you had initially declined. You've seen her paychecks, her apartment, her wardrobe. It's a whole fucking lot. There's absolutely no way you could confidently rub elbows with the people she works with.
But then she gave you the puppy dog eyes.
And then she gave you an "old dress" of hers that just so happened to be your exact size.
On top of all that, she also gave you a matching pair of heels and a new purse.
You couldn't say that after being so spoiled by your best friend.
"Oh, hush," Gianna tells you. "This isn't so bad."
"We're in masks!"
She shrugs. "It's a masquerade. You should be a bit more grateful, ya know. If you weren't here with me you would be at your own work function with-"
You raise a hand, effectively cutting her off. "Don't. I don't want to think about him."
Gianna lifts a brow, her eyes silently teasing you as she hides her smile behind her wine glass. "Then don't."
"I need a drink." You heave a dramatic sigh as you slip off your barstool and slink through the crowd to find the bar.
The large ballroom is packed to the brim with people, most of them chatting with one another in small groups while a few others dance wherever they can find the space. It's strange that, despite the larger number of people in the room, you aren't feeling the least bit warm. In fact, it's kind of cold. Oh well. You'd rather feel the slight chill than want to burst out of your own skin from overheating, you think as you finally get to the bar.
"What can I get you?" The bartender asks.
You give him your order and sweep your eyes over the room one more time as you wait. Everyone is laughing and generally enjoying their time together. Had this been your work party you would be slinking around in the shadows, begging whatever god would listen that you wouldn't run into your ex.
The one who dumped you last year.
On Christmas.
And then hooked up with your step sister.
Also on Christmas.
"I'd hate to be whoever you're thinking about right now," a low masculine voice says just over your left shoulder.
You jump, slightly embarrassed to be caught. "Oh, uh, yeah..."
You trail off, not sure of what to say when you get a good look at him. He easily towers over you and seems to be as wide as two of you put together. His muscles are visible even through the exceptionally well tailored midnight blue suit he wears. Each one of his movements, despite being graceful, threatens the integrity of said suit. If he flexes even slightly you're sure it'll rip at the seams. His mask is the same color as his suit with silver filigree around the edges. It reminds you of a prettier Phantom of the Opera mask. Behind the mask his eyes are dark. Almost pitch black.
He tilts his head as he looks down at you. "I haven't seen you before."
You shove a thumb over your shoulder, pointing to where you left your friend. "G-Gianna, she- I'm her friend."
Leave it to you to become an absolute mess in front of the first handsome man you see.
"Friend or friend," he teases with a wolfish grin.
"Just friends. I'm not her type."
"But you're someone's type."
You scoff. "Not in about a year."
He hums thoughtfully. "A touchy subject, I see."
"I got dumped on Christmas."
You aren't sure exactly why you're spilling your guts to this guy. Maybe it's the masks. The anonymity of it all is probably giving you a sense of misplaced courage.
Your handsome stranger picks up your hand and runs his lips across your knuckles. "Then he's a fool. Someone as sweet as you should be cherished always."
Heat floods through your body and prickles at your skin. "I don't know about that."
"I do. What's your name? Or shall I just call you darling?"
You give him your name and he repeats it reverently. "Do I get your name?"
"Felix," he says as he bends down so his lips are next to your ear. "It's best to remember as you'll be screaming it later."
You laugh. "Sure, big guy."
The bartender hands you the drink you ordered and you cheers Felix on your way back to your table. You can feel his eyes on your back as you walk away.
Gianna looks panicked as you take your seat, her doe eyes large and afraid. "What took you so long? Did you talk to anyone?"
"Just-" you look back to the bar and find Felix in the same spot you left him. "-him."
All the color drains from her face. She gathers her purse and coat quickly, saying, "we're leaving. Now. Get your things."
She spares one more look at Felix who simply inclines his head before disappearing into the crowd. If it's at all possible, Gianna looks even more physically disturbed.
"Make sure to lock your door tonight. Don't let anyone in for any reason," she lectures while rushing you out of the building and down the street. "Do you understand?"
You struggle to keep up with her hurried steps. "I know I've made questionable choices in the past, but I don't tend to let strangers in my apartment."
Gianna looks at you, her face dead serious. "If anyone comes, scream. Scream as loud as you can."
Her warning echoes around in your head for the rest of the night as you get ready for bed. You aren't used to seeing Gianna afraid. Out of the two of you, she's the one with the unshakable courage. You're just... you. And that's always been fine. Usually. Mostly. It's just unsettling, is your point. It's unsettling that Gianna is scared.
Your doorbell rings suddenly, and you're about to answer it, your hand inches away from the bronze doorknob, when Gianna's words pass through your mind one more time.
Don't let anyone in.
So you don't.
Not even when the doorbell rings two more times.
Nope.
You ignore it three whole times... but the fourth time is what gets you. It's just that it's annoying, you reassure yourself. You'll tell whoever it is to go away and that'll be that.
"Felix?" You stare in bewilderment when you open the door. "How do you know where I live?"
He's even more handsome without the mask. His face is chiseled and angular like some sort of statue of a Greek god. The smile he gives you is positively radiant. Charming even. He holds up your coat.
"I texted Gianna when I saw you left your coat. She gave it to me."
"She did?"
Felix nods.
"Oh... well..." You open your front door wider. "Do you want to come in?"
"I would love to." He steps over the threshold and looks around your tiny apartment. His eyes linger on the Christmas tree in the corner of your living room. "I see your breakup hasn't dampened your holiday spirit."
"Nope. Can't let the fucker ruin all of my Christmases."
"Eloquently put."
Heat pools in your cheeks, a sense of inferiority creeping in. "Do you want anything to drink? I've got tea, coffee, water..."
Felix shakes his head. "I'm alright, thank you."
"Look, I-"
Whatever you were about to say dies on your lips because Felix is suddenly there, mouth on yours. His lips are cold and demanding as he guides you through the kiss. He tastes sweet like candy.
"What were you about to say?" Felix grips your hips, pressing you closer to him. You feel his erection press into your stomach and all thoughts leave your mind, replaced with the aching need between your thighs.
The part of your brain that's still semi-operational tells you this is a bad idea, but the louder, hornier part quickly overrides it.
Felix is hot.
It's Christmas.
Why shouldn't you do this?
You tilt your head up, angling for another kiss. "Nothing. I wasn't going to say anything."
Felix smiles and you swear you see the flash of extra sharp canine teeth, but it must've just been a shadow. It's gone in the next second.
His mouth meets yours again, his tongue tracing across your lower lip. You moan into the kiss and feel your body melt completely against his. He lifts you easily, like you weigh nothing, never breaking the kiss. Reflexively, your legs wrap around his waist.
"Good girl," Felix praises you. "Which way to your bedroom."
You gesture wildly, hoping he'll get the idea. The only thing you can focus on is the feel of his hard cock pressed against your core. Even through the layers of clothes you can tell he's huge. You feel almost feverish with how badly you want him.
Felix, sensing your neediness, all but runs to your room. He places you on your bed and demands you turn on your stomach, his hands making quick work of your pajamas. He strips out of his own clothes and leaves them in a pile on the floor.
You arch your back and wiggle your ass, your hand falling between your legs to toy with your clit. Felix groans as he watches you play with yourself. He knew he chose well tonight, but he never imagined you'd be this willing. This pliant.
"Fuck, you're so wet for me, darling." Felix grips your hip with one hand and uses his other to teases your entrance, sliding the tip in and out of your slick hole.
You can't find words so you moan instead, pressing back against him so he'll go deeper inside you.
"Mmm," he moans. "Tell me what you want."
"I..." you struggle answer, desperation rushing through you at an alarming rate. "I want you..."
"Try again, darling. Tell me what you want."
"You... I want... you..."
Smack! Felix's hand lands on your ass, the sound loud in the small room.
"I said," he says as he lands another slap on your ass, "tell me what you want."
Each word is punctuated by another spank. He growls at how red your ass is, bending down to lick where little droplets of blood bubble up on your skin. His tongue trails further down and he circles your entrance, savoring this taste of your blood mixing with your juices. Felix can hear your holding in your sobs and it hardens his cock even further.
"Felix," you manage to say between breaths. "Please, fuck me, please!"
Felix hums, pleased with your begging. "That's what I thought. You want my cock inside you, darling? You want to bounce that pretty little ass on it while you come?"
You nod. "Yes! Please!"
"Take it," he tells you as he slips inside you.
You cry out at the sudden intrusion. He's far bigger than you assumed earlier, stretching you around him as he pounds into you mercilessly. It hurts in the best possible way.
"Oh, fuck!" You throw your head back and it lands against his shoulder. "Oh, Felix, oh my god!"
Felix growls in response, the sound reverberating through your whole body. His mouth falls to your neck and his teeth sink in the delicate skin as he pumps in and out of you. He drinks deeply, swallowing mouthful after mouthful while you moan and let him fuck you.
"Come for me, darling," he whispers in your ear when he feels your slick cunt pulse around him.
You feel lightheaded but you do as he says, moaning when you feel him finish inside you as well.
Felix sighs as he pulls out of you, licking his mouth clean of the last few drops of your blood. Your wound should heal in a few days and you'll be left with a pleasant fog of memories.
"Thank you," he tells you as he pulls his clothes back on. "You don't know how badly I needed that."
You hum something that sounds like an affirmative, nuzzling into your bedsheets. Tomorrow you'll be sore with no recollection of why.
But at least this Christmas was better than the last.

☨ Fire Away ☨
✴︎ Chapter Ten (p.1) ✴︎
A/N: Why hello there, everyone! It's been a long while since I posted for this story, and I just want to apologize for that! In total honestly, I lost interest in this story. I didn't enjoy writing it anymore and I thought maybe the whole JCB fanbase has fizzled out, but I can see that's not the case. So in true fashion, this will be a two parter - just because there's a lot to write and I didn't want it to be crammed together. More drama and angst filled in the second part, but I thought it would be good to write in Caius POV for once, just to tell his side of the story.
Side note, if you haven't seen Horizon.... Run to the theater and go see it! I'm actually going again tomorrow to see it for the 3rd time... It's truly amazing! For my Jamie/Caleb story, I will be starting on the first real chapter tonight. I don't have an exact time when it will be released, hopefully by the weekend or a day before. But I just want to say thank you to everyone that is still reading Fire Away, it means so much and I hope you enjoy the new chapter ❤️

Caius’s POV.
“Where’s that little wifey of yours been hiding lately, nephew?” I looked up from the paper – Aro standing in front of the window that overlooked the garden. “She’s in delicate condition and shouldn’t be left out of sight.”
I let out a sigh as I leaned back into the chair, “She’s perfectly fine.” My answer was short. “She’s been hanging around Charlotte and getting things ready for the nursery.”
Aro's gaze turned intense as he inquired, “She knows the gender?”
I shook my head, “No.” His sudden smile quickly dropped as he turned back towards the window. “Apparently, they couldn’t tell when she went to the doctors. They told her they would look again at her next appointment.”
He stayed silent for a moment as he turned to walk to the desk, “My physicians are perfectly capable of taking care of her here – that way she doesn’t have to go to an outside sou-“
“It’s not up to you, Aro,” I interrupted, my voice firm. “Fuck, it’s not even up to me. She's her own person, and she'll make her own decisions about her care.”
“You’re the father, Caius,” his eyes burning into mine. “She’s only the mother – you have all the say when it comes to that baby – especially if it’s a little boy.”
Before I could reply, a soft knock sounded on the door as Vanessa peeked her head in. Her small smile quickly fell once she met the stare of Aro – his body reacting as he beamed at her. “Oh, speak of the angel.”
“I can come back,” she started to back away.
“No, no darling,” Aro walked over, taking her hand as he pulled her into the room. “Caius and I were just speaking of you. How are you feeling, sweetheart?”
Her eyes connected with mine as she answered him, “Fine – thank you,” her hand protectively placed against her growing bump. The overalls she wore placed her stomach on display as the denim pressed against her skin.
Aro caught onto her actions. “How’s the littlest Volturi doing? It seems like it’s been ages since I last spoke to you, darling.”
I could tell that she was growing uncomfortable as she shifted her bare feet on the wooden floor. “Baby is doing just fine.” She gave him a small smile before directing her attention to me. I could tell something was bothering her, but she didn’t want to say with Aro still in the room.
“When are we gonna find out what the child is? You’re already past your 20-week mark, correct?”
I let out a sigh as he continued to press.
“21 weeks,” her voice soft. “Maybe at the next appointment they will be able to tell. The baby was being stubborn that day I guess.” A soft laugh broke through as she rubbed her stomach.
“Typical Volturi man if I heard of one,” Aro smiled. “Just like his handsome father – Caius was the same way when his mother was pregnant with him. We didn’t officially find out if he was male or female until his mother was 30 weeks along. I was finally able to talk her into seeing the family physician – pulled up the ultrasound right away and there he was.”
Vanessa stood silent.
“Well,” Aro clapped his hands together. “I will leave you two with some privacy,” he moved closer to where she was standing. “Still have plenty of things to do before the benefit tonight.” Aro’s body side by side with Vanessa’s, making me sit straighter in the chair as I watched. “Hope to see you there, sweet Vanessa.”
Vanessa took a step back as Aro tried to caress her arm as he left – his eyes darkening at her action. She was the first woman to deny his advances – Vanessa was the only woman to not bow down to my uncle, and that enraged him. She waited a moment once she was sure he was gone – a sigh of relief pushing past her lips.
Silence surrounded us – the words from our fight weeks ago still fresh on both our minds. I was still sleeping in the guest room – not wanting to barge my way back in until she was ready. The air between us was better than it was before. We were back on speaking terms – a gentle touch here and there when close together. I couldn’t blame her for feeling the way she did – my liquid courage causing word vomit to escape. I never meant those words – kicking myself the next morning as I watched her avoid me like I had the plague.
“You okay, darling?” I broke first.
She nodded her head, slowly stepping towards the desk. I couldn’t help but stare at her – absolutely stunning without even trying. Pregnancy had created a glow that made her even more stunning – a vision almost. Vanessa never had to try – whether she believed it or not. “Just wanted to tell you that me and Charlotte are going to town for a bit. I told her I would help her plant some flowers in the garden before I had to get ready.”
I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of her helping Charlotte. “She’s very particular about where she buys her seeds from – may have to come rescue you if you’re gone too long.” A sly smile came over her causing my heart to soar. I slowly removed myself from the chair, taking a couple steps before I towered over her petite frame. Her brown eyes synced with my blues as we took each other in.
"Are you sure you're okay?" I asked, my hands gently pulling her in, feeling the tension in her body slowly start to relax under my touch.
She hummed in response, her blue eyes locking with mine. "Everything's fine, Caius," she whispered softly, a faint smile playing on her lips.
I studied her face, searching for any traces of worry or doubt, but all I found was the familiar warmth and strength that always drew me to her. Despite her reassurance, a nagging feeling lingered in the back of my mind, telling me that something wasn't quite right.
I took a deep breath, trying to push away my concerns. "If anything's bothering you, you know you can talk to me, right?" I said, my voice filled with genuine concern.
As she nodded and the room fell into a brief silence, the tension between us seemed palpable, the air thick with unspoken words and emotions. Our bodies were mere inches apart, the closest we had been in weeks, and I could feel the longing in my fingertips, aching to touch her soft skin once more.
Before I could say anything else, she interjected, "I better go. Charlotte's probably waiting for me in the car." Her words cut through the moment, bringing a sense of reality back into the room.
Frustrated by the sudden interruption, I ran a hand through my hair, trying to mask my disappointment with a sigh that escaped through my lips. "Yeah," I murmured, my voice low with a tinge of regret. "We'll just make sure to be back before six – the dinner starts at seven sharp."
She gave me a small nod and a fleeting smile before slowly stepping out of the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts and the lingering ache of missed opportunities…
I sat on the edge of the bed, the unfinished knot of my tie dangling loosely in my hand, thoughts of Vanessa and the unspoken tension between us weighed heavily on my mind. Downstairs, she was still with Charlotte, their voices drifting up to me as they tended to the newly potted flowers. The dress she had chosen for the evening hung elegantly against the closet door, the shimmer of glitter catching the soft light of early spring.
Her troubled expression from earlier lingered in my thoughts, her eyes reflecting a mix of worry and sadness that she chose not to share with me. I couldn't shake the feeling that something significant was troubling her, something she kept guarded within herself.
With a heavy sigh, I pushed myself off the bed, the need for a distraction leading me to the pack of cigarettes on the nightstand. However, my frustration grew as I discovered that the lighter had died, leaving me cursing under my breath.
Fumbling through the drawers in search of a replacement, my mind distractedly moved from one drawer to the next, until I reached Vanessa's drawer. Among her belongings, a small ultrasound photo caught my eye, its message hitting me like a ton of bricks.
"It's a boy!"
The words "It's a boy!" reverberate in my mind, the gravity of the news began to sink in with a profound weight. We were going to have a son - the Volturi heir that Aro had been eagerly anticipating, the next generation of our lineage. This child would be my firstborn, carrying with him the legacy of our family, the littlest prince destined to inherit the mantle of leadership in the kingdom my uncles had painstakingly built.
The thought of this new life, this tiny being who would one day grow to wield great power and responsibility, filled me with a mixture of emotions. Pride swelled within me at the prospect of fatherhood, mingled with a sense of duty to guide and protect this future leader. Yet, underlying it all was a deep sense of apprehension and uncertainty, knowing the challenges and expectations that awaited my son as he entered a world steeped in tradition and intrigue.
As I carefully placed the ultrasound photo back in its designated spot in Vanessa's drawer, the weight of the revelation still lingering in my mind, a pang of hurt and frustration crept into my thoughts. The fact that she hadn't shared the news of our baby's gender with me stung, albeit subtly. It was a reminder of the distance that had grown between us, a gap that seemed to widen with every unspoken truth and withheld emotion.
Reflecting on the situation, I couldn't deny the twinge of disappointment at not being the first to know about our son. The news of Vanessa's pregnancy itself had come as a shock, revealed to me in a moment of public unveiling orchestrated by Aro at Marcus's funeral, a setting that was far from ideal for such intimate revelations.
Closing the wooden drawer with a sigh, the forgotten need for a lighter now insignificant in comparison to the weight of the photo hidden atop the clothing in the 3rd drawer. Running my fingers through my hair, I gave the ends a hard tug in frustration. A part of me wanted to go out there and confront her right away – not wanting her to hide the truth any longer. The rational portion of my brain simply said to wait until after the benefit. The air between us was already tense – a fight right before the event was sure to make everyone’s night terrible.
The sound of soft footsteps on the staircase caught me by surprise, freezing me in my tracks as I quickly backed away from the drawer, my heart racing with a mix of anticipation and apprehension. Hurriedly, I moved towards the open window, seeking a moment of respite as I tried to collect my thoughts. Glancing back, I saw Vanessa entering the room, her eyes meeting mine as she closed the door behind her.
"I didn't realize you were still up here," she remarked casually, making her way over to the dress hanging on the closet door. "Figured you went with Aro to make sure everything was set up."
I cleared my throat, my voice betraying a hint of nervousness. "Uh, no," I replied, trying to sound composed. "He told me to just stay put until it was time to show up. Besides, I already checked on things this morning to ensure everything was proceeding smoothly. Can't exactly rely on Aro when it comes to dinner party arrangements."
I observed as Vanessa's expression shifted slightly; her curiosity evident as she focused on the dress in her hands. Sensing the need to change the subject, I quickly interjected, "How are the flowers? It seemed like you and Charlotte were quite in tune with them." I watched her inspect the dress she had chosen with Charlotte, undoubtedly envisioning how stunning she would look in it at the event.
“Got them all potted for the most part,” she said curtly. “I’m gonna shower real fast and get ready.”
Before I could reply, she had already retreated to the bathroom, the sound of the shower turning on filling the otherwise silent room. I listened as she stepped into the shower, my feet carrying me almost involuntarily to the bathroom door. Through the glass, her silhouette came into view – her bump prominently displayed as she lathered her hair. In that moment, she looked absolutely beautiful – not that she doesn’t in general – but there was something about her vulnerability that made her seem almost angelic.
A part of me wanted to jump into the shower with her – to tell her and show her how much I truly loved her. I would forgo the gala just to hold her in my arms for the rest of the night, to place my hand upon her growing stomach and speak to my son for the first time. That was all wishful thinking, though.
I let out a sigh as I slowly walked out of the bedroom, shutting the door to ensure her privacy. I found myself in the kitchen, searching the drawers for the forgotten lighter. Cursing aloud as my search came up empty.
"Try looking in the cupboard, dear," came a singsong voice. My nerves rattled at the sound of Charlotte’s unexpected suggestion.
"Jesus, Charlotte," I muttered, my head hanging as my heart pounded in my chest. "Trying to give me a heart attack?"
She let out a chuckle, the sound light and teasing. "The world might cease to exist if you can’t smoke that cigarette, darling." she said, gliding into the kitchen with an air of effortless grace. Her presence was always a mix of comfort and command, something that never failed to both soothe and unsettle me.
I opened the cupboard as she suggested and, sure enough, the lighter was there. I grabbed it and turned to face her, shaking my head with a rueful smile. "What would I do without you?"
"Probably lose that handsome head of yours if it wasn’t screwed on straight," she quipped, her eyes sparkling with amusement. She leaned against the counter, her gaze softening as she looked at me. "She getting ready for tonight?” Her eyes glancing to the ceiling.
I nodded my head as I lit the stick, the flame casting a warm glow that flickered in the dim kitchen light. "Yeah," I replied, my voice thick with emotion. "I just want to thank you for accepting her and making her feel loved. She seems to really enjoy your company, and I can tell she appreciates your kindness – especially now with the baby coming along and all."
Charlotte's expression softened, a tender smile playing at the corners of her lips. "You don't have to thank me, Caius," she said gently. "Vanessa has been an absolute joy. She's a remarkable woman, and you're incredibly lucky to have her in your life. For once—" she reached for my hand, her touch warm and reassuring—"you thought things out with your brain instead of what's zipped inside your trousers."
A laugh escaped past my lips as I nodded my head. "She's not like the others, that's for sure."
Charlotte chuckled along with me, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, it's about time, isn't it? Finding someone who truly understands you, who brings out the best in you."
I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of her words. "Yeah, it is. She's changed everything for me. Made me realize what truly matters." In the short time that we’ve been married, my thoughts were no longer focused on myself or the family business. Before Vanessa, I didn’t care what happened or who I hurt. I was only focused on getting whatever job needed to be done.
"And she's just as lucky to have you," Charlotte nodded, a knowing look in her eyes. "It's a lot, carrying a life inside you. But she's strong. Both of you are."
“You think I’m gonna be a good father?” My eyes focused on my ringed finger. “I mean I can only model myself after Aro and Marcus – they’ve raised me since I was small – most of the time it was you and the other help that I would see for days.”
Charlotte's smile softened as she reached out to place a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Being a good father isn't about having all the perfect examples," she said gently. "It's about love, commitment, and the willingness to learn and grow. You have all those qualities in spades."
I looked up at her, the worry in my chest easing slightly. "But how do I know I won't mess it up? What if I make the same mistakes?"
Charlotte shook her head. "We all make mistakes, dear. It's part of being human. But the fact that you're asking these questions, that you care so deeply about being a good father, shows that you're already on the right path."
I sighed, the weight of my doubts still lingering but feeling a bit lighter. "I just want to do right by her, by our child."
"And you will," Charlotte reassured me. "You have a good heart, and you care. That's more than enough to start with.”
I gave her a small genuine smile.
"Now—" Her hands moved down my bicep, her touch warm and familiar. "Where is the rest of your suit?"
We both laughed as I explained to her, "This is the style at the moment. I can’t be all stiff and boring like Aro and those other men – gotta stand out in the crowd, Charlotte."
She shook her head, still chuckling, her eyes filled with a mix of amusement and fondness. "Well, you're certainly doing a good job of that," she said, her voice teasing but affectionate.
Her aging eyes peered past me, and a soft smile formed on her lips. "Well, I think the beauty standing behind you will make that happen more than your outfit will."
I turned to see Vanessa approaching, her presence instantly lighting up the room. She radiated a warmth and grace that seemed to draw everyone's attention, including mine.
The champagne-colored dress that Vanessa had chosen fit her body like a glove, the color and sparkles making her already glowing skin pop out even more. My eyes trailed down to her stomach, my heart swelling as the bump was more noticeable than usual. I honestly couldn’t even put a sentence together—her beauty rendered me speechless.
“Oh, darling—" Charlotte shuffled past me as she made her way to Vanessa. "You look absolutely breathtaking."
Vanessa smiled warmly at Charlotte, leaning down slightly to give the older woman a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, Charlotte," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. She glanced my way, her eyes twinkling with affection and amusement at my awestruck expression.
As they exchanged pleasantries, I took a moment to compose myself, trying to find the right words to express what I was feeling. Vanessa's presence was like a beacon, illuminating everything around her and grounding me in the moment.
“Caius, sweetheart—” Charlotte’s eyes glinted with mischief as she and Vanessa turned their attention onto me. “Rather than keeping your jaw on the floor, why don’t you tell your wife how beautiful she looks?”
I snapped out of my reverie, feeling a blush creep up my neck. Vanessa’s amused smile only made my heart race faster. “Right,” I stammered, taking a step closer to her. “Vanessa, you look... breathtaking. I mean, you always do, but tonight you’re just...”
Vanessa’s eyes softened. “Thank you,” she said, her voice gentle. I could still sense a hint of timidness in her posture as I stepped beside her.
I cleared my throat, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. I was apprehensive but determined to provide the support she deserved. “Shall we go?” I asked, my hand hovering near her lower back.
She slowly nodded, a soft smile still framing her face. “Yes.”
As we made our way to the awaiting SUV, Vanessa walked a couple of steps ahead of me. Every movement she made seemed to draw my attention, and I felt a surge of protectiveness and love. My body instinctively moved into doting husband mode as I rushed to open the car door for her.
“Here, let me help you,” I said, extending a hand to assist her into the vehicle. Her fingers brushed against mine, sending an electrical current through my body. The simple touch was enough to make my heart race.
“Thanks,” Vanessa murmured as she settled into the seat, her eyes meeting mine. Her gaze was unreadable, a mix of emotions that I couldn’t quite decipher.
I settled into the seat beside her, and the driver quickly gathered himself, rolling down the driveway. The ride was mostly silent, filled only with the rhythmic sound of raindrops hitting the darkened windows as the car traveled down the interstate.
I glanced over at Vanessa, her profile illuminated by the occasional streetlight. She seemed lost in thought, her fingers lightly tracing patterns on her lap. I wanted to reach out, to bridge the quiet gap between us, but I hesitated, unsure of what to say…

Twilight next gen: Alice x Jasper vers.
Ezmeralda June Hale Cullen
Faceclaim: Teagan Croft
Ezmeralda is the one and only daughter of Alice and Jasper
Before Ezmeralda was adopted by the Cullen's, she came from a terrible family that treated her like she was invisible and never acknowledged her existence
School for her was also no treat for her either, since she was bullied senseless, teased, and even SA'D
One day after school, a group of girls jumped Ezmeralda and beat her near death.
It was shortly after that that Jasper and Alice found her lying on the floor with a bunch of bruises and blood coming from her lip, nose, and back of her head
Alice turned her after she saw Ezmeralda losing a lot of blood and brought her back home.
After Ezmeralda was turned, she was quiet and scared. Having no idea what happened to her. Luckily, Alice and Jasper helped her through it and explained everything that happened.
After both Alice and Jasper helped and trained her, they introduced Ezmeralda to the rest of the family, where she also met her new cousins
It was overwhelming at first, but as time went by, she grew comfortable and safe with her new family, who accepted her immediately
Ezmeralda is called Ezme, Izzy/Ezzy, Ez, Jem, and sweetie (the last one is what Alice calls her)
Like Elizabeth and E.J, Ezzy is also an introvert and prefers to be in solitude.
When Ezme was turned, she was gifted with invisibility
Liz, E.J, and Ezme are introvert buddies
Ezme is still shy and quiet, but she has her own sense of confidence, especially when it comes to her new family
Jasper taught her self-defense, and Alice teaches her to control her thirst
Ezzy is a daddy's girl

𝓡𝓸𝓼𝓪 𝓓𝓸𝓵𝓬𝓮 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓮𝓻 9
~𝓟𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓸𝓾𝓼 ~ 𝓜.𝓵𝓲𝓼𝓽~ 𝓝𝓮𝓽 ~
I stood in the mirror to adjust my outfit. I wore a white sweater with a white vest, a plaid skirt, and black tights. My hair was uncertain. It was either braided on either side or an updo. I could have let it out but instead, I just did my half up half down duo, my usual style. I looked in the mirror to gain confidence.
'Christine. You can do it. You're heading to a house blood-sucking vampires who feed on animals. Not humans. What could be wrong?'
I breathed and exhaled as I exited my room. I headed toward the kitchen as Cordelia noticed me. "Oh you're up early," Cordelia replied.
Heading to the fridge, I picked up two waffles and put them in the toaster. "I'm going over to a friend's place," I said as I waited for my waffles to pop up.
"A morning hangout. How fun?" she said. I open the cabinet and pull out a plate. Just at the right time, my waffles popped up from the toaster. After placing them on the plate, I sat down at the small kitchen table. I grabbed the syrup, poured it over the waffles, and took the first bite. Curiosity spread across Cordelia's face as she asks "So who is this friend you're going over to? Is she Bella?"
"It's the Cullen," I answer. She looks at me surprised. "I never knew you and the Cullen were close," she said.
"W-Well. Alice, the girl that came into Aphrodite. We started talking and we had a pleasant relationship, so she invited me over," I replied as I continued to eat.
"Oh. this Alice. Do you like her?" Cordelia asked. I choked as Cordelia's response caught me off guard. Cordelia laughed at my reaction. "Cordelia," I yelled.
"What? You know I love you just the way you are?" she said as she sat down with coffee. As soon as she sat down next to me, she grabbed my face and smiled at me. "No matter who you choose to be with." She pecked my head. As soon as I grasped her hands, I got her to let me go.
"Cordelia. We're just friends. In addition, she has a boyfriend," I said as I stabbed my fork into my waffles.
Cordelia snickered at my reaction. "Well, I'm glad you are gaining more friends," Cordelia said as she drank her coffee. I turn to her as she smiles at me. She knew I was having trouble forming friendships here, but Cordelia was my only support through it all.
I finish eating and wash my dishes. "Well, I'm heading out."
"Okay. I'll see you in the shop," Cordelia said.
I nod my head in response and grab my keys and bag and exit through the front door. I went to my car and sat in the driver's seat. I then pulled out the card Alice wrote the directions on. I used my phone to get directions to the Cullen home. After passing the Calawah River bridge, other houses flashed past us. They became farther away. As I drove through a misty forest. I'm further out than that, I thought to myself. I then turned onto a dirt road. It was unmarked, you could barely see it among the ferns. The forest encroached on both sides, making the road ahead unclear for a few meters. It twisted like a serpent around the trees. After driving slowly for a few miles, I saw a thinning of the woods. It was almost like a meadow or a lawn. Soon I saw it, the Cullen house. Six primordial cedars shaded an entire acre with their branches. The tree held its shadow up to the house wall.
As I step out, I admire their home from the outside. It looks timeless, graceful, and probably a hundred years old. It was painted in soft faded white and stood three stories tall. There was also a deep porch wrapping around the house front. It had a lovely charm to it. I noticed Bella's truck. I shut my car door and walked to the front door. I stood there patiently, quietly.
'Okay. Christine. You got this.'
After giving myself every bit of confidence, I breathed and exhaled. When I reached out to knock on the door, Alice opened it and stood beaming brightly.
"You're here," she said.
I nodded my head smiling. I was surprised as Alice grabbed my hand and pulled me inside. At the door, I noticed the house looked nice as my eyes wandered around. The inside of the first floor was open and bright with a few internal walls. To the left of the front door was a wide central staircase. To the right was a raised area with a grand piano in the center, a dining room, and a kitchen.
"Nice huh," Alice said. I nodded my head. From the stairs, I saw Jasper.
"Hello Christine," Jasper greeted me. I greet back. She led me to the raised floor section by the grand piano as I heard Edward's voice asking where's Alice?
"I'm right here," she said as she pulled my hand and there stood Edward, Bella, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, and a woman. But no Rosalie and Emmett. I wonder where they are.
"Christine, I would like to introduce you to Carlisle and Esme," Alice said.
Esme. She was pale and beautiful. She was small, but less angular and more rounded than the others. Something about her heart-shaped face and soft caramel-colored hair reminded me of those silent movies. She smiled warmly. Carlisle and Esme were both dressed casually. I feel like I overdid my outfit.
"Umm. Happy to see you again Dr. Cullen," I said nervously.
"You're very welcome Christine and please as I told your friend, Bella, call me Carlisle." I nod my head.
"Christine, it is lovely to meet you," Mrs. Cullen said as she reached for my hand. Her hand was cold.
"It's nice to meet you too, Mrs. Cullen."
"Alice didn't tell me you were aesthetically pleasing," Mrs. Cullen remarked.
"Oh, thank you, Mrs. Cullen, " I blushed. "You can call me Esme," she replied. I nodded my head, and responded, "Of course Mrs... I mean Esme."
My eyes wandered around. Their home looks nice. It's clean and bright. "Alice told me that your mother owned that adorable flower shop in town," Esme responded.
"Y-Yes. Since we moved here, Cordelia has run it. I help her out sometime. That table centerpiece, I made myself," I said as I pointed to the lavender and tulips centerpiece on the grand piano.
"Really. You have quite a talent," Esme said. I felt Alice bump my shoulder, teasing me. I could feel my cheeks heating up at her comment.
"T-Though with a lovely home like this, I am honored that my work can sit in your home." With a bright smile, Esme replied "The honor is all mine."
I smiled as I felt a small bump on my hip. I turn toward Bella as she looks at me. She leans in close to me and whispers, "I didn't know you were coming here."
"I got invited to come over by Alice on the day she came to the shop. And you?"
"It was a last-minute thing," Bella whispered.
I nodded in understatement. My eyes wandered and landed on the piano and so did Bella. "Do any of you play?" Esme asked me and Bella.
"Oh no. I don't. As a child, I never got into playing a musical instrument, unlike my brother. I was more of a dancer," I explained.
"You dance. What type of dance?" Esme asked.
"Ballet," I answered.
"Really? You have to invite us to the next show," Esme said. "I'll be sure to get a ticket to my next performance when that comes," I replied with a nod. I cleared my throat to focus on Bella.
"Umm, Bella. What about you? Do you play?" I asked.
Shaking her head, she replied, "Not at all. It's very beautiful. Is it yours?" She laughed and answered no. "Edward didn't tell you he was musical," she said. Bella and I both look at Edward and reply "No."
I had no idea Edward could play piano. "Edward can do everything, right?" Bella replied as I heard Jasper snicker. It was then I heard Esme scold Edward hoping he hadn't been showing off saying it was rude before telling him to play for us.
"I thought showing off was rude," Edward objected. "Well there is an exception to every rule," Esme replied.
"I would like to hear you play," Bella said. I'd like to hear as well. A push from Esme leads Edward toward the piano and he pulls Bella along to sit on a bench beside him. While walking toward the piano, I stood by the side. Edward played a beautiful melody. Bella's eyes lit up with amazement, while I was filled with awe.
His fingers move swiftly on the keys. I was amazed. The melody was beautiful as it shifted to a soft tone. As I listened, I heard Alice whisper "Hey Christine, you wanna come with me for a second? I can show you around the house." I nodded my head in response. Alice walks to the stairs as I follow her. Suddenly I heard a different melody. The moment we walked up the stairs, Alice whispered to me: "I think Esme likes you."
"Does she? Are you sure I wasn't an idiot?" I asked.
Alice giggled as she shook her head. "Where's Rosalie and Emmett? I didn't see them," I asked. "They're around. Now let's show you around," Alice said.
She showed me everything. To Carlisle's room, Rosalie and Emmett's room, to her and Jasper's room. It was all pleasant. "So what do you think? Not what you expected, huh?" Alice asked. "It looks nice and old. How old is your home?" I asked curiously. "Early sixteen-thirties," Alice said. Wow. It's an antique. She told me that it belonged to Carlisle's father and that he carved it himself.
"Just curious, how old is Carlisle?" I asked. "367," Alice said.
My eyes widen at her response. 367. I had a million questions in my head. In response to her question, I asked, "Where was he born? What year did he turn?"
"He was born in London in 1640," Alice said. She then told me that he was the only son of an Anglican pastor. His mother died in childbirth. His father was intolerant. During that time, Protestants came to power and he strongly believed in evil. His father led the hunt for witches, werewolves, and vampires.
'How awful.'
I also learned that innocent people were burned. Despite his best effort, he couldn't find the monster he wanted. The pastor grew old and appointed Carlisle to the raid. Carlisle was more persistent than his father. He found a coven of vampires living in the city sewers, only coming out at night to hunt. One emerged and he was ancient and weak with hunger. She told me that the vampire ran through the street as Carlisle yelled out in Latin to warn the others. Being 23 at the time, he was fast and pursued. The vampire then attacked him but the others were close behind. In defense, the vampire killed two men and snatched a third, leaving Carlisle to bleed on the street. Anything infected by the monster must be destroyed, but Carlisle acts instinctively to save his life.
After crawling away, the vampire and his victim were followed by the mob. Carlisle then hid in a cellar, burying himself in rotting potatoes for three days. "Could you believe that he stayed hidden without being noticed?" Alice said.
"I believe it."
I was drawn into the story. I asked, "And what happened next?" She then smiled and said, "You know I think it's better if we go and speak with Carlisle himself. You should go to his office," Alice said as she pulled along. "O-Oh okay. Is it safe?" I asked.
Alice giggled and replied yes. I nodded my head and walked to his office. As soon as I arrived, I saw Edward and Bella. Edward noticed and replied "Back again I see," Edward replied. "I came to learn about Carlisle's history. Alice told me to come."
"You're in luck, and so is Bella," Edward said as he looked at her. I look at Bella and she responds, "I want to know myself."
I nod my head. As we waited at the door, I heard a faint voice saying come in as Edward opened the door. Carlisle's office was interesting. The walls were paneled in dark wood. Most of the wall space was taken up by towering bookshelves that held more books than I have ever seen in a library. Carlisle sat behind his mahogany desk.
"What can I do for you?" Carlisle asked, rising from his seat.
"I wanted to show Bella some of our history," Edward replied.
"I too came to learn your history. I hope we didn't disturb you," I said. Carlisle shook his head. "Where would you like to start?" he asked. "The Waggoner," Edward said.
It was then that we faced a wall different from the others. Framed pictures of all sizes adorned this wall. In vibrant colors and dull monochromes. We were now standing in front of a small square oil painting in a plain wooden frame. I began to examine the details of this painting as it was painted in varying sepia tones. A miniature city with steeply slanted roofs and scattered towers topped by thin spires appears in the painting. Moreover, there was a wide river in the foreground crossed by a bridge covered with tiny cathedral structures.
"London in 1650," Edward began.
Carlisle a few feet behind me added, "London of my youth."
Edward asked if Carlisle would like to tell the story, but Carlisle explained he was running late and told Edward to tell it. As he knows it better than Carlisle himself. Carlisle then left the room leaving me with Edward and Bella. I later discovered this painting. This city was Carlisle's hometown. "Then what happened? When he realized it?" Bella asked. "When he knew what he had become, he rebelled against it. He tried to destroy himself but that's not easy," Edward said. The biggest shock was Carlisle jumping and drowning himself but he survived. He was born into another life and was very strong but his instincts were strong and took over everything.
He then grew very hungry and weak. He kept away from humans but his willpower weakened. He wandered nightly for months, loathing himself and seeking the loneliest places. My heart sank with guilt for Carlisle. In the middle of the night, a herd of deer passed through his hiding place. He was so thirsty that he attacked the deer without hesitation. It was then that his strength returned and that there was an alternative to being the vile monster that everyone feared.
"So he realizes that you don't have to kill people for blood," I said. Edward nods his head as he continues. "He made good use of his time. He was always intelligent. He studied at night and planned by day. He swam to France," Edward said.
"He swam to France," Bella said.
Like Bella, I was shocked. Edward explained that vampires didn't have to breathe while swimming. That breathing was just a habit. To continue, Carlisle swam to France and then traveled through Europe to universities. By night, he studied music, science, and medicine. It was at that moment that Carlisle knew he had found his calling in helping people.
It took two centuries of torturous effort to perfect his self-control over blood and now immune to the smell of blood, he can do the work he loves. The hospital was a place where he felt peace. Then he tapped his finger on a different painting that was different from the others in front of us. "In Italy, Carlisle was studying when he discovered the others there," Edward said.
"Others," Bella questioned.
"Much more civilized and educated than the London sewer wraiths," Edward explained. I examined the painting he touched. In the image, it was a comparatively sedate quartet of figures painted on the highest balcony, looking down calmly at the mayhem below them. And there I noticed a golden-haired man named Carlisle painted beside them.
"Carlisle's friends greatly inspired Solimena. He often painted them as gods," Edward said as he pointed them out calling them by name.
"Aro, Marcus, and Caius. Nighttime patrons of the arts," he said.
As I heard Edward talking in the background, I stared at the painting hanging on the wall. I looked at the figure on the balcony. I have seen them. I have seen them before. Their hair. Their features. Eyes that show adoration for me. I know them. I realized as I said, "It's them." Bella turned toward me and replied, "What?" I looked at her and pointed at the painting hanging on the wall.
"It's them. The ones in my dreams.

----------------------------------------------------
A year. I haven't been to Forks in a year. I spent my entire life thinking that it was everything, now I'm not so sure. I miss my home more than anything, but the wonders I have seen while away. I can only imagine what those quiet town folk will think of my stories. My reason for returning? An envelope that arrived to my hotel room in Bankok. Simple, off white paper with silver etchings that read the following:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Isabella Marie Swan
And
Edward Anthony Masen Cullen
Together with their families, request the honor of your presence at the celebration of their marriage.
Saturday the thirteenth of August, two thousand and eleven, five O'clock in the evening
420 Woodcroft Ave
Forks, WA
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I could hardly believe the words as they spilled from my mouth. My sister, married? My sweet, anti-social, 18 year old sister? Yes I'm aware that she had found herself a boyfriend, our phone calls over the past year have been of nothing else, it seems. It's so unlike her, but nevertheless I am giddy. Later that evening I recive a phone call from the bride herself, bestowing upon me the title of maid of honor.
When I first met Edward Cullen, I was surprised. I never had any classes with him since he was a grade bellow me, but he always seemed off. His whole family did, which became the talk of the town for months and months. The rest of his siblings seemed relatively well rounded, with sharp minds and passionate interests. I became acquainted with Emmett and Rosalie during our shared English class. Rosalie, while much more reserved than Emmet, was always helpful and kind. We never became friends outside of school but I was shocked to find out that she had a disdain for Bella (I would later realize that this was due to me not trying to stick my nose into vampire business, although I would have if I had known that the Cullens were supernatural beings.) Emmett was very sociable, we didn't have much in common but I was glad to have such a friendly classmate.
After the shock of the wedding died down, I booked a plane ticket home as soon as possible. My father, Charlie, would pick me up from the airport. I would get to see Bella. Gosh. I haven't seen her in person since I left. Bella, one year younger than me, has always lived with our mother. That was the agreement. She went of to sunny Arizona and I started in the rain. I always liked the rain though, and I always liked Forks. Right before I started grade 12, Bella moved here. And I loved it. I had never been happier. But that only lasted so long. Bella got caught up with her vampire-like boyfriend and I started feeling a horrible longing to leave. I made the decision, much to my father's dismay, to take a gap year. Travel. I had been working at the diner after school since grade 9 and I had saved almost all of the money I made. My favorite thing about Bellas new beau was his family. They were quite lovely people, although strange, and they helped me quite a bit with my travels. Alice, the only one who I had become moderately close to, aswell as Mr. and Mrs. Cullen, had filled my mind with many inspirations for my travels. They also gave me some extra money to help make it as fulfilling as possible, despite me protesting about 100 times. By the end of grade twelve I was itching to leave. My itinerary was stacked, I planned to stay in Europe for two months and the rest in Asia. I cherished the cathedrals in Germany , the busy streets in Mumbai, the quiet ashrams in India, sights of Nepal, Vietnam, Italy, France, and now Thailand. I have come away from this trip with a bigger sense of the world, and myself. But now I've grown rather homesick from shuffling village to village, my sense of adventure has been filled and I'm ready for peace and simplicity. I think I'm ready to go home. Little did I know that returning to the middle of nowhere, Washington, would lead me on the greatest adventure of my life.
END
Thanks for making it to the end! <3 -CC

_________________________________________________________
Leaves crunched beneath your feet, mud clinging to your boots as you trekked through the gloomy forest of forks and you had noticed that the sun was beginning to set in the horizon, giving the sky a pink hue.
you had just left the Cullen house and needed to get away from the tense and insufferable atmosphere.
Ever since you'd gotten back from Volterra and the rest found out that Demetri is your mate, you felt as though there had been a rift growing between them and you, like they pushed you out because you were fated to the tracker of the volturi guard.
they grew quiet when you entered the room, didn't talk to you as much in school anymore and didn't invite you to their thunderstorm- dependent baseball.
And now that Bella's life was in danger once more because she was being targeted by a newborn army, they ignored you completely and you've felt nothing but alone since.
It made you miss demetri dearly.
oh how you longed to feel his arms around you again, to pull you close and whisper that was everything was going to be alright, to feel him close again.
the dreams you'd been having of him did not help either.
Some nights you'd shoot up in your bed with your body covered in a light sheen of sweat, your heart racing at a certain dream you'd have of him and you, alone together in your own little bubble.
You snapped out of your thoughts when a sudden gust of wind blew past you, your flowing aggressively forward and you froze, that gust of wind did not feel natural.
alarms went off in your head as you turned your head and took in your surroundings and the more you didn't find anything, the more your heart began to pound.
an eery and unsettling feeling settled in your body and you picked up your pace, arms crossing over your chest and eyes zoomed ahead and you didn't dare turning around.
But that was a mistake.
in the distance, you heard branches snapping one by one and it only came closer and closer until you felt like the sound was coming from right above you, like a cyclone tearing down everything in its path as it hunts you.
Next thing you knew.. you were on the ground.
you let out a startled yelp as your body landed harshly with a thud on the cold and wet forest floor, soaking your clothes as you thrashed against whatever held you down but it was impossible, because whatever had you trapped felt like it was made of stone and the more you struggled, the more painful it was.
Your body was spun around so you were laying on your back, your hands being forcefully pushed up so they were restrained above your head in iron-clad grip.
You looked up and felt your blood run cold.
It was a vampire, you could tell by the red eyes and insanely pale skin.
But it wasn't just any vampire.
"Victoria?" you whispered with a strained voice as you took in her wild red curls, her prominent red eyes and how cold and calculating they were, a visible snarl left her lips as she leaned closer to your face, her grip tightening ever so slightly.
"what do you want from me?" you cried as she came closer and closer, until her breath hit your ear.
"you're not the one I want" she whispered and bit the shell of your ear harshly, making you gasp and thrash as pain radiated from the spot but there was no use in fighting.
She was a vampire and you were a human.
"But you'll do for now"
with a menacing growl, her teeth clamped down in your neck with swiftness, embedding them so deep as you screamed in pain, tears of agony streamed down your cheeks as you tried to push her off but you felt completely and utterly helpless.
you screamed as loud as you could, screamed so much that you thought your vocal cords might burst from the extreme pressure they were operating under but it was to no avail.
no one was coming anyway, and the wolves couldn't cross over either.
but then it all stopped and her fangs left your neck.
and then she was gone, leaving you bleeding on the floor and unmoving.
and then the burning started.
It felt like flames were being shot out in your body and were burning away everything, you thrashed and cried out as the fire within you grew stronger and stronger, you felt like your insides were being torn apart, your blood vessels and arteries bursting open.
Pain and agony like no other until it suddenly turned black and you passed out.
____________________________________________________
Demetri:
Demetri, Jane and Felix had been sent by Aro to keep an eye on the growing situation of the newborn army that had been gathering in Seattle.
They were in the process of scouring the forest of forks when Demetri stopped, his ability honing in on his mates mind and he immediately knew something was wrong.
"Felix! Jane!" he called out to them and sped off in your direction, determined to get to you as fast possible when scenario after scenario began to play out in his head.
and they each ended with you, dead and unmoving in his arms.
he couldn't let that happen, he just couldn't.
if anything happens to you, he will not be okay and he would do whatever it takes to find the person who harmed you and end their miserable existence.
the closer he came to you, the more his tracking ability began to pick up on images and thoughts and emotions and what scared him the most was the near paralyzing fear he felt rolling off you, the chemo signals your scent gave off did not make him feel better either.
a few seconds later and a body comes into you and he knew it was you.
"No, no, no" he breathed and his frozen heart shattered as he examined your run down state and then his eyes narrowed when he saw two puncture marks on your neck, as if you'd been bitten.
And then it hit him.
you were transitioning.
Demetri gently picked you up, carrying you in his arms as he ran through the forest towards the Volturi palace. He was determined to get you to safety as quickly as possible. As he ran, he couldn't help but worry about your condition. He had seen countless vampires transition before, but this time it was different.
This time, it was his mate who was in danger. He knew that the transition process could be dangerous and unpredictable, and he was worried about what the future held for you both.
As they finally arrived at the Volturi palace, Demetri carried you inside urgently and laid you down on a soft bed within his bedroom, making sure you were situated comfortably.
He sat next to you, watching over you intently as your body went through the transformation. The hours ticked by, but he never left your side. He would whisper words of comfort and reassurance, hoping that you could hear him even in your delirious state, even if he knew it wasn't likely.
_______________________________________________________
Back to your pov:
The days passed and the torture was finally over, you finally started to wake up.
Your eyes fluttered open and you slowly began to register your new surroundings. Your vision was sharp and clear, you could see the smallest details from the wrinkle in the curtains to the dust on the door handle.
You could hear every sound in the room with incredible clarity, like everything was a melody dancing above you. You tried to sit up, but your body felt weak, and a wave of dizziness washed over you.
That's when you noticed that Demetri was sitting next to you, watching you intently with a mixture of concern and relief on his face.
"What-" you breathed as you sat up on the bed and took in your surroundings, this was definitely not forks and you had a feeling you knew where you were when you saw the architecture.
Demetri smiled softly as he watched you come to your senses. He could see the confusion and surprise in your eyes as you took in your new surroundings.*
"You're in the Volturi palace," he said quietly, "You were attacked by a vampire, mia cara. By the time I found you, it was too late. You were already in the process of transitioning into a vampire".
Your eyes went over to him and you froze "Demetri" you whispered and something inside you snapped, and an insatiable urge to be close to him took ahold of you, probably the mate bond now that you were a vampire, it became stronger.
He reached out and gently took your hand, his fingers intertwining with yours. He pulled you closer to him, the magnetic attraction between you two undeniable.
"I'm here," he said softly, his voice filled with reassurance.
"I'm not going anywhere."
You rushed to him in lightning speed, your entire body pressed against him and you wrapped your arm tight as stone around him "oh Demetri I missed you“ you whispered against his ear, tightening your hold without realising you were using your newborn strength.
He let out a small noise of surprise as you squeezed him tightly, and he could feel the strength of your newborn instincts. His arms instinctively wrapped around you, holding you just as tight as you held him, trying to soothe your frantic energy.
"I missed you too, love," he said softly, his voice both comforting and a little bit amused.
He held you close as he spoke, the scent of your skin filling his senses and causing his own body to react. The mate bond was sending waves of longing and desire through him, but he pushed those feelings aside for the moment, focusing on calming you down instead.
"You're still adjusting to your new senses and strength," he said gently, "It's going to take some time to get used to, but I'll be here to help you every step of the way."
You leaned back and looked back at his beautiful face, your grip on him not faltering "what about the Cullens?" you asked him worriedly, knowing they must be looking for you, or at least you hoped so.
Demetri's eyes darkened as you mentioned the cullens. He had been keeping a close eye on you whilst you two remained separated and so he was aware of how the treatment of the Cullen clan towards you began to change when they discovered you were his fated.
And he was angry.
Because even if you were his mate and they disliked it, they still could have tried to do something to prevent you from turning, tried to prevent Victoria.
Demetri's hand reached up to caress your cheek, his touch soft and gentle. He could see the anxiety in your eyes, and he knew how much you cared about your friends in Forks.
"I'll talk to the Volturi rulers and make sure they understand the situation," he said reassuringly. "They may not be happy about you being a newborn, but they'll understand the importance of the mate bond."
Your eyes went back to Demetri but then you froze, an ache that started in your throat turned into a burn and you let out a raspy choke, overcome with a sense of hunger.
You froze.
You had a feeling you knew what the burning sensation meant, and you didn't like it one bit.
Demetri noticed the change in your expression and immediately understood what was happening. The transition process had increased your hunger significantly and you were experiencing the powerful thirst that all vampires felt.
He instinctively pulled you closer, trying to comfort you as you struggled with the pain and hunger, "It's alright, love," he said soothingly "It's a natural part of being a newborn. You need to feed."
"No I can’t" you cried without actually shedding any tears, but the more the burn in your throat became stronger, the more the blood of a human became more appealing to you and your lust grew.
You hated that you didn't have a choice in the matter, hated that in order for you to survive you had to feed off of a human being. A human being who probably has a family or has things that they wanted to accomplish. Someone's child, someone's loved one and someone's family.
And you would be the person to squelch that and take it all away.
Demetri's heart ached as he heard your protest. He knew how strong the thirst could be, especially for a newborn, and he could see the struggle in your eyes as you resisted the urge to feed.
He gently took your face in his hands, his touch firm but caring. He looked into your eyes, his own filled with understanding and love. "Love, you have to understand," he said softly. "You're a newborn. You cannot survive without feeding. The thirst will only get stronger, and it will drive you mad if you try to ignore it."
"But I can’t kill someone" you cried out and huddled closer to him, your hands clawing at your throat as if you could just rip the hunger out like scabbed skin.
Demetri carefully wrapped his strong arms around you, holding you tight against his chest. His voice was low and gentle, but firm.
"Listen to me, love," he said, his fingers gently stroking your hair. "You're a newborn vampire now. You need blood to survive, and feeding from animals won't be enough."
He paused for a moment, letting his words register in your frantic and frenzied mind as he continued to hold you against him.
"I know this is hard for you. I know you don't want to hurt anyone, but you have to understand that you cannot fight your nature forever. The thirst will drive you mad, and eventually, you'll lose control. It's for your own survival and for the safety of others."
Eventually, you gave in "okay" you cried softly, the ache unbearable now and by now, you wanted to anything and everything to put a stop to it, even if it meant going against your moral compass.
Then a knock sounded on demetris door and then overwhelmingly sweet smell of human blood hit you, and a low growl escaped your lips.
Demetri must've arranged something for you to feast on whilst you were transitioning.
The door opened, and two Volturi guards entered the room, carrying a human prisoner. The scent of human blood was potent and overwhelming, and the guards held the human securely, their expressions stoic and vigilant. Demetri's eyes flickered between you and the guards, watching you carefully as the scent of blood further ignited your newborn instincts.
He spoke in a firm tone, his gaze shifting to the guards as they held a struggling victim in their grasp, "Leave us" he commanded and the guards nodded their head, leaving you and demetri alone with the unlucky victim.
His attention shifted back to you, he could see the hunger and desire for blood in your eyes and he wrapped an arm around your waist to momentarily restrain you before your animalistic instincts took over.
"Take it easy, cara" he whispered in your ear before he let you go and then you pounced.
One hand snaked into his hair as you held the person down, tugging on to expose his carotid artery by the side of neck, barely using any strength to keep the thrashing human pinned down.
You don't waste one second, with a low growl you sunk your fangs into the skin of his neck and a hiss of pleasure leaves your lips. The taste of human blood hit you full force and it was like nothing you'd ever experienced before, as if your senses had been amplified ten fold.
One drop of human blood was enough to fill you with an intoxicating power and satisfaction.
Demetri clenched his hands into fists as he watched you feed on the human, his own primal instincts beginning to flare up but he fought against them for your sake as he listened to the slowing heart rate of the human and he could tell you were almost finished.
It was a sight to behold.
witnessing the brutal beauty of his newborn mate, your eyes changing from the hungry black color to the hauntingly beautiful red color that he also had and he felt a sense of satisfaction as he witnessed you embracing the vampiric nature.
Your movements were less frantic and more controlled now that you've sated the desire for blood and the urge began to fade. With no more blood left, you pulled away from the lifeless being and stood up again, turning around to face demetri.
A new sense of hunger took over, but this time it wasn't blood your vampiric self wanted.
It was him.
Demetri growled lowly, sensing your sudden desire for him through the mate bond and an intense lust and primal need flared up between you.
He took a step closer to you, his eyes tracing your new and improved form hungirly. The scent of blood combined with your own alluring scent sent his instincts into overdrive, it took every ounce of his control to keep himself in check and not pounce on you with unrestrained efficiency.
His voice was low, laced with restraint and intense desire.
"you're exquisite," he murmured as he came closer to you, closing the distance between you two. His hand reached out to wipe lingering blood from your chin, his touch sending a shiver down your spine. You saw how his eyes darkened considerably, the struggle in them evident.
"Demetri" you let out a soft growl when the lust for him became unbearable, especially now that he was standing this close to you and everything within you was urging you to give in, to give yourself to him.
"I know, cara," he responded, his voice deeper and thick with desire, barely holding himself back. He pulled you closer to him, the hand that was on your chin moved to the back of your neck and he took ahold of it "you're still new to this, we need to be careful. You're still adjusting to your new nature, to the intensity of the mate bond between us and I don't want to cause you anymore pain than you've already been through."
You felt touched by his words but right now you didn't really care for taking it slow, more for jumping his bones "We don't have to go all the way but please, Demetri" you breathed softly, a hint of a whine in your voice "kiss me".
Demetri's heart clenched at the pleading tone in your voice, the desperate need for physical contact and to be close to him. He understood your need, the way the bond was making you crave his touch, and he couldn't deny you any longer. He needed it as much as you did.
Without hesitation, he closed the remaining distance between you and captured your lips in a deep and passionate kiss. His arms wrapped around you tighter, pulling you impossibly closer against him. The kiss was intense and filled with all the pent-up desire and need they had been holding back. He could feel the mate bond strengthening with every touch, every press of his lips against yours. The taste of your skin and the sweetness of your lips sent waves of pleasure through his body, fueling the burning need he felt for you.
He continued to kiss you deeply, his tongue teasing and exploring your mouth as his hands mapped your body with precise and efficient movements and you loved every second of it as the occasional moan tumbled out of your mouth. He could feel the heat between you growing more intense, the pull of the mate bond making it nearly impossible to resist the primal, carnal need to claim you completely.
He reluctantly broke the kiss, his breath coming out in short puffs as his forehead fell forward on yours which is ironic given that vampires don't need air to be alive "We need to be careful, I don't want to rush you or overwhelm you" he whispered softly against his lips and despite every raging hormone telling you something else, you agreed with him.
Even though you were destined to be together, especially now that you're both vampires, it would be too fast and too soon to give into those urges now and "consummate" the bond. You felt like you wanted to get to know him better and spend more time with him so that the two of you could establish a connection outside the mate bond.
"We have eternity, my love"
"I know, I know" you whispered and leaned into his touch and willed your breathing to even out despite that one nagging voice in your head telling you something else. You just focused on the feeling of being in his arms and the serenity it gave you that you finally were able to after spending those agonising months without him.
Least now you knew why they were agonising now to begin with.
But then a different thought crossed into your mind and the smile began to fall from your lips ever so slowly "The newborn vampire army, they're on their way to forks as we speak. I have to help them" you told him with a hint of panic lacing your voice as you thought about the battlefield the Cullens (and Bella) were about to step onto.
Demetri could sense the concern and the urgency in your voice as you mentioned the newborn army and the threat they posed to your loved ones in Forks. His expression hardened, the protective instincts kicking in again.
"You're worried about your family and friends," he said, his tone serious. "I understand. But you also need to remember that you're new to this whole newborn thing. You can't just rush into a battle like this without proper control and training. We need to think about this carefully and come up with a plan."
"Demetri they’re my friends and the newborns are targeting Bella, I have to help them" you pleaded softly, and bit your lip in thought. You had witnessed some of the training that Jasper lead and you had been able to remember some of it "jasper taught the others how to fight a newborn, I’m sure I’ll be able too".
Demetri's expression softened at your pleading tone, sensing the depth of your concern for your friends and the urge to protect them. He could see the determination in your eyes, the firm belief that you wanted to help them. "I know you're worried, love, and I understand your desire to help," he said quietly. "But you have to be realistic. Yes, Jasper has taught them how to fight newborns, but you are still a newborn yourself. It's one thing to practice and another to be faced with a real battle."
Before you could counter his argument, which was futile because you knew he had a good point, a knock sounded on his door, Jane stepping into his room without any regard "Aro wants us to take off again" she said, her voice void of any emotions just as always.
Demetri's attention flickered to jane for a moment as he responded to her, his voice and tone guarded "We'll be right out, Jane" he replied before turning back to you, his gaze softening once again.
"Wait I was in forks when Victoria attacked me, how did you get to me so fast?" you asked him when it dawned on you, and you looked at him expectantly.
Demetri's expression became guarded again. He could sense the curiosity in your question and he knew that he was going to have to explain himself. "That's a long story, love," he said. "It involves my unique abilities, and I'll explain it to you later, but we don't have much time right now."
"Alice said that the Volturi had been keeping their eye on the situation, was that why you were in forks?” you asked him again, wondering what was going on that he was trying to rush you and him out the door.
Demetri let out a sigh and offered you a small smile. It was true, the Volturi had been keeping a watchful eye on the situation in Forks, and his presence there was related to that.*
"That's part of it," he admitted. "The Volturi have been keeping a close watch on the situation in Forks, and I was there on a mission to assess the situation and report back to them. But it's a complicated matter, love, and one that cannot be explained right now. I promise I will tell you everything, but we really need to go."
___________________________________________________________
*Time skip*
"They're coming!" Alice's distressed voice could be heard as you emerged from the treeline and everyone's attention turned to the group of Volturi guards, including you. The silence that fell upon the scene was palpable as the Cullen Clan looked at you with various expressions of shock, confusion, and hostility. You could feel their gazes digging into you, their disbelief evident.
there was a variety of emotions amongst the vegetarian vampires, but most prominent were shock and confusion. Bella's eyes widened, her expression a mix of disbelief and concern as she took in her sister and her changed persona. Her mind was likely racing, trying to understand why you were present with the Volturi.
Demetri remained close to your side, his presence steady and reassuring. He noticed their reactions, but he kept his expression neutral, his focus solely on you and the Volturi mission. He could feel your own emotions through his tracking gift, the nerves and worry mixing with the longing to help your family.
You pulled the hood of your cloak down as everyone else did, Jane speaking up, "Impressive" she started, looking each and everyone in the eye "I've never seen a coven escape an assault of this magnitude intact".
"We were lucky" Carlisle answered calmly, his posture and body language guarded but neutral as he offered a small smile, just like he'd always been.
"I doubt that" Jane replied cooly.
"It appears we missed an entertaining fight" Alec spoke up after, a smug smile on his face and you fought the urge to role your eyes at him.
"Yes" Jane agreed almost instantly, "it's not often we're rendered unnecessary" she said.
"If you arrived a half hour ago you would've fulfilled your purpose" Edward spoke up and your gaze flittered to him and you flinched when his cold gaze was already set on you, a secure arm wrapped around Bella whilst she was cautious as to not make much eye contact with the Volturi.
"Pity" Jane practically spat out the word before her gaze spotted someone unfamiliar, a young girl who looked no older than 17 and you felt sorry for the young girl when you realised she must've been one the vampires from the army, a newborn just like you.
"You missed one".
You watched as jasper made his way over to the young one, standing next to her in a protective manner in case the Volturi would try anything, his posture rigid and you could tell he was on high alert with the way he watched every member but you saw a flicker of uncertainty whenever her his eyes landed on you.
As if he could not determine if you were going to harm them or if you were still on their side.
"We've offered her asylum in exchange for her surrender" Carlisle explained, his hands crossing in front of him.
"It wasn't yours to offer"
And then Jane proceeded to glance at the girl, her expression void as she asked the newborn why she came here to forks but when she didn't answer, Jane set her ability to use and the girl let out a piercing scream of pain, collapsing to the ground.
Once Jane stopped projecting pain onto her, she answered every question as she slowly sat up again, informing Jane that she didn't know much as Riley, the leader of the army would not share information because their thoughts were not safe.
Most likely because of Alice.
"Felix" Jane gave a silent command and you watched as the brute made his way over to the newborn with long strides and dread settled in your stomach, knowing what was about to happen. Esme tried to defend the girl and come to her defence by exclaiming the newborn had no knowledge of what she was doing and that they'd take responsibility for her.
You thought that was admirable of them but it wasn't enough to persuade Jane to let her live as she instructed Felix to continue and you almost immediately could see the defeat on their faces and soon, the young newborn was no more.
"Evangeline" Bella spoke up after some time with a quivering voice before the Volturi began to depart the scene , not being able to keep quiet anymore "what are you doing? with them?” she asked you, a hint of disdain in her voice as she emphasised "with them"
Bella's question hung in the air, laced with disdain and confusion. It was clear she didn't understand why you were now standing alongside the Volturi, an enemy to her and her family, and it was evident in her strained expression. Your heart ached as you heard her question, the mix of emotions coursing through you as Bella struggled to grasp the situation. You knew she was confused and distrustful, but you also knew you had to explain yourself.
Demetri, remaining by your side, remained silent, allowing you to take a moment to gather your thoughts. He knew this wasn't easy for you, that you were caught between loyalty to your friends and family and the circumstances that have led you into an unexpected alliance with the Volturi.
Bella, it's complicated," you began, your voice tinged with emotion. "I know you don't understand, and I know you're distrustful of the Volturi, but please try to hear me out…"
You swallowed the lump in your throat, steeling yourself and taking a deep breath as you formulated the explanation carefully in your head "I didn't choose this," you continued, struggling not to let emotion slip into your words "I didn't choose to become a vampire or expect at all to be here with Demetri and the Volturi. What happened... it was beyond my control"
The rest of the Cullens listened carefully as you continued with your explanation and you could see the curiosity swimming in their gazes but also a hint of distrust, you couldn't blame them, you did show up with the volturi after being gone for 48 hours with no notice or anything.
"Victoria ambushed me in the forest and turned me against my will," you said and took a deep breath, your mind briefly flickering back to the event and you only hoped they would understand where you are coming from.
"Demetri and the Volturi found me on the forest floor whilst I was going through the transition and brought me to Volterra where they made sure I was safe and could survive" You glanced towards demetri and a small smile grew on your face as you took in your mate, the only reason you were not spiraling right now was largely because he was standing by your side.
You glanced back at the others and to your relief, their gazes had softened a little and you could the understanding and concern crossing their faces as they absorbed the news of your attack. Esme's emotions were the most noticeable out of all as she looked at you, what looks like guilt and sadness were swirling like a whirlpool in her eyes.
You smiled a little.
Bella's expression softened slightly, her disbelief starting to give way to a hint of concern. You could sense her own emotions changing as she seemed to take your words into consideration. She nodded slowly, her expression showing a small trace of understanding, but her confusion and worry remained on her face.
"I never meant to betray you or any of you," you continued, your voice tinged with sadness and guilt, your eyes watering and pricking at the corners of your eyes, even if you knew they were never going to fall. "I wish more than anything that things could be different, but I'm alive because of the Volturi."
Bella's expression softened further, her eyes locking with yours and her own emotions became more visible now. There was a hint of understanding and empathy in her eyes, but the hurt and confusion still lingered under the surface, the pain of betrayal still present despite the explanation.
"I don't ask for your forgiveness," you whispered softly, feeling the emotions building more in yourself as that thought surfaced, "but I ask for your understanding. This isn't who I chose to be, but it's who I am now."Your words were tinged with sadness. You didn't want their rejection but understood their feelings of betrayal. The emotional turmoil within you was overwhelming. A mix of fear, sadness, and longing for acceptance.
“Please believe me when I say,” you said softly, your voice laced with genuine emotion. “I am not the enemy. I never wanted to be apart from any of you. I am still me.”
Then you glanced at Demetri and he met your gaze and offered a reassuring nod, his eyes filled with understanding. He could feel your emotions through the bond, understanding the complexity of the situation. His presence remained strong and unwavering at your side.
"But Demetri is my mate and the reason i'm here today" you said softly as you threw a glance at Bella and Edward, observing how close they stood together and a knowing smile grew on your face "you know what it's like, Bella"
Bella hesitated for a moment more before stepping forward, closing the distance between you two. She stood in front of you, her expression a mix of compassion and sadness, recognizing the complicated emotions you both shared.
She searched your eyes for a moment before speaking softly, her voice carrying the weight of understanding and the pain of the circumstances. "I'm… I'm sorry," she whispered, her expression filled with emotion. "About everything that happened to you."
If you could've cried, your entire face would have resembled a damn waterfall. You felt so relieved that she accepted you and wasn't holding your transformation against you.
"You're not a traitor, you're my sister" Bella whispered, her words carrying the deep understanding of the bond you shared. "I see that now. I can… I can see the connection between you and Demetri and I understand."
Bella's words struck deep and it caused a swell of relief and emotion to crash over you. She seemed to finally understand and grasp the depth of the bond you and Demetri shared as mates, the intense connection that drove your actions, as it reminded of her of her own connection to Edward and she was reminded of how much her world was turned upside down the second she met Edward Cullen. In that moment, she knew and understood that you needed to be with him and how important it was that you get your newfound vampiric persona under control.
She gently reached out her hand and interlaced it with yours, a gesture of unity. She didn't even flinch or react to the ice cold skin of your palm "will you be okay?" she asked, her voice cracking slightly with emotion. She knew being with Demetri was crucial now, despite the challenging circumstances that had led you to where you are but through all that, her concern for her younger sister prevailed.
You squeezed her hand as gently as possible and sent her a soft smile, you greatly appreciated her understanding as you knew this could not be easy for her "Yes" you spoke with heartfelt sincerity, meeting her eyes with unwavering honesty. "I'm okay, now that i'm with Demetri. He's my anchor and my support, I'm not alone in this"
"Promise me you'll come and be my maid of honour."
Bella's words surprised you, the request to be her maid of honor was a little unexpected and it stunned you momentarily, making you speechless for a moment. A smile tugged gently at the corners of your lips as her request sunk in.
It was a moment of vulnerability and a hint at the trust that was rebuilding between you two, the acknowledgment of the significance of you in her life. Your eyes locked with hers, seeing the sincerity in her eyes and the genuine hope that lingered "I promise," you whispered quietly, touched by the gesture.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world."

La Tua Cantante Series
Pathetic Little Thing
Part 1: Alec
"Is this the start of your rebellious teen phase?" Alec trailed along Jane in this little park they came upon.
"As long as we clean up after ourselves the masters won't care too much" She says nonchalantly her eyes landing on a couple in the distance.
"What about no feeding on the locals?" Alec piped up one of the Volturi's rules for living in the town.
"Occasionally the locals end up on the tours, as long as we don't make this little outing a habit it should be fine" Alec and Jane stared at the little teenage couple who probably snuck out of their parents house to meet here. It was very late at night hardly anyone was out.
"Do you want to join me?" Jane asked still staring at them with a look that if Alec didn't know his sister he would have thought was jealousy.
"No actually, maybe Ill stumble upon my own act of rebellion" Alec lightly chuckled and Jane preceded to hers. Alec wandered off in the opposite direction of Jane's fun. It was a few minutes passing of wandering and Alec thought maybe he wouldn't find a midnight snack.
Alec started to feel something as he walked as if something was pulling him in a certain direction. He then eventually smelled what he was craving. Blood.
Suddenly he heard a girl's voice screaming that perked up his ears.
As he focused on the girls screams that sounded like it was towards a group of italian boys. They were laughing and speaking in things in italian that dulled Alec but also made him wrinkle his nose in disgust. He also heard dogs barking and growling as he approached the scene.
He saw as a group of italian boys probably around twenty in numbers were surrounding a girl. Some of them were surrounding two German Shephards holding them by their leashes antagonizing them.
Alec moved towards the group unnoticed when he stepped on something. Realizing they had the contents on the girls purse all over the area around them as he picked up her passport.
Aisling Barton. 14 years old. American from New York.
"Tourist" he ringed smirking as he threw the ID over his shoulder.
The boys were playing with Aisling, they pulled at her hair, ripped at her clothes, hit her in different places, threw things at her while she frustratingly was trying to communicate with them. She kept making erratic movements with her hands. It then hit Alec that she was deaf. But then he saw her dark brown almost black eyes and how they weren't focused on anything. She was blind as well as deaf. What a pathetic little thing Alec thought as he watched the scene before him. He leaned against a tree as if he watching a show.
But the more Alec just stood by and watched it happened. Something snapped inside him that he thought was gone long ago.
Memories.
Her screaming was replaced with his.
Once he was just poor boy who everybody but his family hated. They saw him as an easy target, an easy person to blame for all their troubles. Him and his sister were beaten, tormented and bullied daily just because they were different. The villagers children would always attack them in groups. The group of boys started to get even closer to her.
Surrounding them as they beat them nearly to death. They were stomping on her to the point Alec heard bones crunching. They put them under their heels and spit at them from above. One of the boy pressed his heel into her temple then Alec noticed something.
Silence.
The girl had stopped long ago with her sobs. She stayed silent as they started to pull up her legs. Jane stayed silence too.
"This is boring" Alec said loud enough for one of the boys to turn. Before the boy could say a word Alec's mist had reached him, it had reached all of them.
Part 2: Aisling
Aisling felt alone in her hotel. Girls that were in the studying abroad program left hours ago. But she did have Aries and Athena laying on each side of her. She couldn't sleep in this new place. She didn't want to be here but her parents shipped her off to wherever they could.
She was a hindrance to them.
Even though she was a very independent girl.
Too independent as she decided to take a night walk. She was completely reliant on Aries and Athena at night when it came to her sight. But she enjoyed night walks. The stillness and freshness in the air. At night the busyness of everything was completely at peace. It seemed even more so in this town. But then she felt something start to happen. Several feet on the ground. Then before she knew it she was knocked to the ground. She could feel Aries and Athena going crazy and then they were pulled from her. She tried to not let go of the leashes but they stomped on her hands. She cried out clutching her hands to her chest. She was surrounded and she knew it. She tried to sign to them but they just pulled her in different directions clutching at her clothes. She kept trying to communicate with them hoping they would understand but screamed out in fear and frustration when her purse was finally taken from her. She kept trying to sign but their hands on her, the rocks and foul-smelling cans that met their mark, her clothes barely holding together, she accepted her fate. They started to kick and stomp on her making Aisling barely conscious.
She thought she was going to die as a man's heel pressed against her temple but ended up just kicking her head. They started to pull her body to the ground but something happened. All the bodies froze and then something miraculous happened. She felt a sort of mist come upon her and her senses changed. Her vision became it's usual grayish blur that it was during the day but never at night. Her hearing was better than her usual. She could usual only hear very loud bass music but right now she could hear boys screaming. She felt Aries and Athena come back to her side. Athena going behind her barking but she seemed frightened.
Aries stood in front of Aisling barking wildly as if he was afraid too but he would die to protect her. Aisling tried to make sense of her new found senses. She could see movement and the bodies still before they fell. She was actually shocked she never had been able to see the shapes of things before. But now she saw the bodies standing still or kneeling down while a force moved one by one to them. Some dropping to the ground while others they're bodies became halves of themselves flying in the air. Aisling didn't understand.
The screams were the worst part. It was the first human sound Aisling ever heard and it terrified her. But all of a sudden it stopped.
Part 3: Aisling & Alec
Alec came closer to being in front of Aisling.
She wondered what he was an animal...an archangel...a monster.
"Strange" Alec almost purred as he sucked the blood off his fingers staring closely at the girl before him.
Aisling ears perked up as she still felt the mist around her and realized it was the reason she could hear. But she didn't hear what the voice said only knew a voice came from whatever was in front of her. Even as she imagined or she actually could hear her babies still barking.
"You know you're the bravest dog I've ever met" Alec kneeled before Aries as the dog was the only thing standing between him and Aisling.
Athena had started to back away making Aisling confused. She never felt her dogs this scared before. What was in front of her?
Then she felt the mist start to leave and her vision went black. Little bit of sound she heard for the first time was gone.
"What to do with you?" Alec hummed melodic type of way as he surveyed the girl as she laid on the ground twisted up in different ways.
She gently started to pull the German Shephard to the side of her making a space between Alec and her. Alec sat there wondering what he wanted to do.
He could tell she was trying to use the dog to get up but she was weak. But her hand started to crawl up the ground towards him and he moved away. He knew she could tell because her hand stopped. Alec looked around perplexed as to why he was even thinking about this. But for some reason he just couldn't go for the kill. She's such a pathetic little thing there was no fun in it. Then something caught his eye. A phone on the ground by her purse. He slowly walked and kneeled down to it picking it up. He stood up playfully tossing it up and down in his hand catching it as he stared down at the pathetic little thing.
"Decisions....Decisions" He looked around at the mess he made realizing it was quite a mess.
Then truly looked at the braille phone and realized his first call to make.
"Felix come to the exact location I text you and come with haste" He ended the call and texted the description of the spot. He didn't want to clean this up. Call it laziness if you want. His eyes never left the girl as he wondered if he should leave her for Felix. He turned around ready to leave thinking he was going mad for even making it a decision but he didn't know what it was that made him go no further. A cosmic pull..an instinct whatever it was something snapped in Alec that he could not leave this girl to die. He rushed over to the girl lifting her up like she was made of glass. Something in him tensed all over that her animals faded into the background.
Everything around him became different as he held her to him. It was her...her smell..her blood..
He needed to hurry for whatever he was going to do. He rushed to the nearest public place at this time of night. Called the phone again. 112 he dialed for an ambulance. Saying the address and condition of the girl before hanging up. He with uncharacteristic gentleness laid her against a wall. He stared at her for a time and she raised her head to him. Did she know he was there? He didn't know never took the time understand her kind he thought as if she was another species from mortal. He was leaving her when she reached up toward him but he left to quickly. He waited on a rooftop nearby for them to come. Eventually someone joined him.
"You owe me" A growl came from his side.
"Is it taken care of?" Alec didn't take his eyes off the girl.
"I surveyed the mess you made and called Santiago. He'll clean it up" Felix said in a prideful manner that Alec thought he had no business in having.
"That's not what I asked" Alec calmly straightened his cuffs as the ambulance came.
"I am not your errand boy" Felix sneered as Alec smirked. He still didn't bother looking at him even as mist started to leave his hands making Felix step back.
"I won't tell if that's what you want" He said through gritted teeth still slowly stepping back but the mist kept coming.
"I'll make Santiago keep quiet as well plea-" Felix actually tripped over his own feet making Alec giggle and turn around while the ambulance was leaving. Alec strolled over to Felix ending up kneeling next to him.
"Next time do as you were told like a good boy" Alec roughly patted his cheek making Felix grimace. Alec causally got up making his way back to the park.
"Incompetence" Alec gave a disappointed shrug at the scene before. Blood specks still littered the ground. He still smelled death in the air not that he minded the smell. He even thought he saw an ear on the ground or a bit of throat. Beer bottles and cans covered in blood.
That didn't annoy him though.
It was the contents of Aisling Barton's purse that littered the ground still. He kneeled down annoyed snatching up the purse itself. There he saw a card to the Hotel San Lino. Alec bit his lip and stared at it.
He made a decision that night. Something that not Jane or Aro helped him make and one neither of them would approve of.
He debated over it but he made it all the same.
That he was going to see her again.
