Personalization Prompt #2 – Martha
And for the reader appreciation day of the event, I’m using the second personalization prompt for the wonderful Martha @going1582! Thank you so much for being a friend 😊 And I hope you’ll enjoy!!
BLACK: what face claim from an anime, comic book, or cartoon do I associate with you?
Of course, you already know this one, but it really is Alex Benedetto from Gangsta.! She’s gorgeous, has the right colouring, and is just always the first character to pop into my head when I think of Martha!
WHITE: what flame type and box weapon do I think you’d have in the khr!verse?
While I sort of answered this when I did the other personalization prompt, I do think you have dual Mist and Rain Flames. Your Mist Flames are just the tiniest bit stronger, and though you can’t create full blown illusions, you can use the Mist Flames in ways that do help to deceive or trick others, mostly in defensive ways, while your Rain Flames are the more offensive of the two. As far as box weapons go, I think your Rain box animal is a whale and your Mist Flame animal is a turkey. Going again with the symbolism of spirit animals, both of these animals have deep ties towards community and family. The whale is a symbol of wisdom, emotional healing, keeping history, and peaceful strength, while the turkey is a symbol of abundance and generosity.
RED: what aesthetics do I associate with you?
I know I did these up for you years ago now but they all still ring very true to me 😊
BLUE: what are three songs I’d put on a playlist for you?
LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS, the beatles
SWIMMING, james newton howard
DON’T GIVE UP, twice
YELLOW: what fictional world out of all my fandoms would I picture you in?
Going with the obvious answer that everyone has probably guessed will be here. KHR is the fandom we’ve shared for the longest time, the one we’ve talked about most, and it’s the one I see you in the easiest!
GREEN: who would I pair you with out of all my fandoms?
For KHR, it’s Hibari, of course! For K Project, it’s Dewa. For Nanbaka, it’s Trois. For Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun!, it’s Kalego. For Bungou Stray Dogs, it’s Chuuya. For Servamp, it’s Higan. For Saiyuki, it’s Kougaiji. For Eyeshield 21, it’s Akaba. For Ronin Warriors, it’s Cye. For Kekkaishi, it’s Hiba. For GetBackers, it’s Ban. For Black Cat, it’s Lin. For Karneval, it’s Jiki. For Gangsta., it’s Delico. For Bleach, it’s Hitsugaya. For Naruto, it’s Kankuro. For Deadman Wonderland, it’s Yo Takami. For Ouran, it’s Kyoya. For Durarara!!, it’s Walker. For Gintama, it’s Kamui. For Mystic Messenger, it’s Jumin. For Ikemen Revolution, it’s Oliver. For Blush Blush, it’s Volks. For Date Warp, it’s Alben. For Hatoful Boyfriend, it’s Nageki. For The Outsiders, it’s Ponyboy. For Class of the Titans, it’s Archie. For Ultimate Spider-Man, it’s Danny. For Gravity Falls, it’s Ford. For The Mighty Ducks, it’s Fulton. For Jungle Fury, it’s R.J. For Ninja Storm, it’s Dustin. For Mystic Force, it’s Xander.
PURPLE: what gif reminds me of you?
PINK: if you were an AU, what type of AU would you be?
I do see you as a nice, relaxed, soothing type of AU, something very slice of life oriented without a lot of major drama and angst, so a nice coffeeshop AU or even a high-school AU would be what I would picture you as.
RAINBOW: if i were to write a khr sequel, following Tsuna’s demise, and could only use my reader’s as characters, who would you be?
Easy! It’s the same answer it’s probably always been, where I see you as the next Rain Guardian!

I bought Dollmore Sona × Volks hybrid (found it completely by chance) to put DIM Benetia head on Volks body, but decided to keep it the way it was. The more time I spend with her, the more I understand that head means nothing. It's pretty and I like it. But it's foreign to the body. There's something mystical about it. The feeling. Don't know how to describe it. Guess best analogy is Celty from Durarara. The body has its own conscience and lives by itself. Sounds stupid. It's not like I'm anthropomorphizing, I like dolls for being dolls. But this body is kind of special (besides being aesthetical, tactile and very decent-made). Now when I discovered that it may be 20 years old I like it even more. Maybe I'll name her Sadako.

The "Frankification" of Germany under Napoleon refers to the imposition of French language, culture, and institutions on the German states that were part of the Napoleonic Empire. This process had a profound impact on German identity and culture, and it contributed to the rise of nationalism and the Romantic movement in the 19th century. Here are some examples and quotes that illustrate the impact of Frankification on Germany:
French as the Language of Administration: One of the most significant aspects of Frankification was the imposition of French as the language of administration in the German states. This meant that German officials were required to learn French and use it in their official duties. This had a profound impact on the German language and culture. As the German poet Heinrich Heine wrote, "The French language is the true spirit of the Revolution, and whoever knows it can never be a slave."
The Napoleonic Code: The Napoleonic Code, which was introduced in the German states during the Napoleonic Wars, replaced the traditional legal systems that had been in place. The Code emphasized equality before the law, individual rights, and the separation of church and state. These principles were seen as a threat to traditional German values and institutions.
The Rise of Romanticism: The Romantic movement, which emerged in the late 18th century as a reaction against the Enlightenment's focus on reason and rationality, was also a response to Frankification. Romantic writers and artists celebrated the natural world, the Volk (the German people), and the mystical qualities of Germanic culture. As the German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe wrote, "We Germans have never been so German as we are now, because we have never been so oppressed and occupied by foreign powers as we are today."

A Country Doctor by Franz Kafka
A Country Doctor A Country Doctor by Franz Kafka is a short story about a doctor who struggles to reach a sick boy on a winter night. Louis H. Leiter writes about A Country Doctor: "A Country Doctor" comments on man, who, buffeted by the scheme of things, is unable to transcend the part assigned him by the absurdity of that existence. Because he does not lack conscious knowledge of his condition, but refuses to act in the face of his portentous freedom, the doctor, an archetype of the anti-existential hero, deserves his fate." A Country Doctor by Franz Kafka
Franz Kafka's A Country Doctor English Subtitle
Who was Franz Kafka?
Franz Kafka was a German-speaking Bohemian novelist and short-story writer, widely regarded as one of the major figures of 20th-century literature. Born into a middle-class, German-speaking Jewish family in Prague, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Kafka's unique body of writing—much of which is incomplete and was published posthumously—is considered to be among the most influential in Western literature. His works are characterized by themes of alienation, physical and psychological brutality, characters trapped in an incomprehensible system, and mystical transformations. Kafka's writing blends elements of realism and the fantastic. He often created malevolent, absurd worlds and characters who struggled futilely and had a deep sense of existential angst. Despite the posthumous publication of the majority of his works, Kafka's influence has grown steadily, influencing a vast range of writers, critics, artists, and philosophers during the 20th and 21st centuries. List of Works by Franz Kafka: - Novels: - "The Trial" ("Der Prozess") - "The Castle" ("Das Schloss") - "Amerika" (also known as "The Man Who Disappeared" or "Der Verschollene") - Short Stories: - "The Metamorphosis" ("Die Verwandlung") - "In the Penal Colony" ("In der Strafkolonie") - "A Hunger Artist" ("Ein Hungerkünstler") - "The Judgment" ("Das Urteil") - "A Country Doctor" ("Ein Landarzt") - "The Great Wall of China" ("Beim Bau der Chinesischen Mauer") - "A Report to an Academy" ("Ein Bericht für eine Akademie") - "The Hunter Gracchus" ("Der Jäger Gracchus") - "The Burrow" ("Der Bau") - "Josephine the Singer, or the Mouse Folk" ("Josephine, die Sängerin oder Das Volk der Mäuse") - Letter Collections: - "Letters to Felice" ("Briefe an Felice") - "Letters to Milena" ("Briefe an Milena") - "Letters to Ottla and the Family" ("Briefe an Ottla und die Familie") - Diaries: - "Diaries 1910-1923" ("Tagebücher 1910-1923") This list is not exhaustive, as Kafka wrote numerous other letters, fragments, and shorter pieces. Some of his works were destroyed, either by Kafka himself or by others after his death, so the full extent of his writings is unknown. Read the full article

In the heart of Darkwood forest, where the shadows whisper low,
Lived a creature, fair and mystic, with a radiant golden glow.
A man of grace and mystery, standing tall at six feet high,
With hair of sunlit splendor and a gaze that pierced the sky.
His locks flowed like a golden river, cascading down his back,
And his eyes, pure white as moonlight, held a wisdom none could track.
Elven ears adorned his visage, a testament to ancient kin,
And a silver earring sparkled, a token of secrets hidden within.
He wore a woolly sweater, vibrant purple like the night,
Black and red boots upon his feet, guiding him through the twilight.
Dark blue sweatpants hugged his frame, comfortable for his quest,
While a big brown backpack held treasures, and masks he loved the best.
For within that worn companion, a collection of masks he stored,
Each one a gateway to another realm, where secrets were explored.
Encountering this enigma, a chance few had ever known,
Would grant a boon of knowledge, that would leave your face o'erthrown.
With his presence, minds would open, as the mask he offered gleamed,
Revealing paths untraveled, as if living in a dream.
The mask bestowed upon the seeker, a gift from the forest's guide,
Would grant visions and insights, in realms where wisdom did reside.
Oh, the tales spun by the wanderers, who crossed this being's path,
Of the truths they unraveled, escaping ignorance's wrath.
For the man with golden tresses, in Darkwood he found his home,
Amidst the ancient trees' embrace, he'd forever freely roam.
So, let us raise our voices high, and sing this volk song's tune,
Of the blond man in Darkwood, who brought wisdom's sacred boon.
May his steps forever wander, through the forest's verdant grace,
Granting knowledge to all seekers, as they gaze upon his face.

I will try?
Tall cream boy in pink sweater, pink wig, and tie-dye dark pink pants is a Switch - ah shoot, I've already forgotten. I thought they said Ajeong? (Sorry, I should have written this stuff down. Note to self - take notebook next time.) Hey @blacksheepdolls - who is your boy?
Tall girl is my Dollmore Trinity Elysia holding a - either a Pukifee or Realpuki (the owner said Realpuki at the meet but tagged it Pukifee on Facebook, and considering I forgot my dolls all the time, heh).
Doll with black messy wig in all black is my Fairyland Feeple65 Medusa Angela on the Impldoll Star Model 63 cm body.
Cream kneeling doll with pastel rainbow wig is my Supia Doll Rosy on the DF-H 68-cm muscular female body.
In the brown Adirondack chair is Doll Chateau Sharon (I love this sculpt). Behind her in a high back chair in a pastel pink wig is Mystic Kids Miri (1/3 scale doll).
Between Sharon and Rosy is a Volks SDM doll. Behind her was a Volks SD10 doll - Mio, possibly (they didn't remember, either).
Front middle in red/purple is a vinyl limited Volks Dollfie Dream - going to need help with the character. Is this a Sailor Moon doll?
The 1/4 Fairyland Fairyline Hyde with rabbit legs belongs to blacksheepdolls. Someone is looking for another pair of 1/4 rabbit legs, if you know someone with a set to sell.
Tall man in chair with facial hair is a resin Granado boy, and man was his outfit amazing. Pretty sure it is Cain. Like Iplehouse, Granado boys take small (12 mm) eyes.
White doll in blue dress with horns is a Gem of Doll Capricorn Shipher fullset, and man if that outfit wasn't gorgeous (and complicated). Her owner might be buying my Elysia, heh heh heh. (The owner really liked Elyisa. I liked finding a sucker volunteer to carry Elysia around.)
The quintet of dolls, top right, with the Battat brown horse are all Resinsoul, and their owners make the clothes and painted the dolls. Incredibly talented pair - Aeon's Wares (on Etsy) makes clothes, and the spouse makes props. I traded clothes with them for my noisy sewing machine.
The headless doll being held by another Resinsoul boy is an old 1/3 Dreaming Doll body in search of a head. I brought a Mystic Kids blank Miri head, but it was too small. Also - I owe the owner the heel feet.
spring meet-up at inniswood metro gardens. I had a great time meeting everyone and gushing over all the gorgeous dolls! can't wait for the next one.
I won't be tagging all the sculpts bc there's too many lol.

Volks Mysticism:
Reincarnation cycle and connection to the owner of the BJD -- (official Volks website)
*
“Big eyes in order to stare at you and scarlet lips to convey their thoughts to you.” ~ (Volks Japan)
*
This is perhaps one of my favorite topics and why I fell in love with the world of BJDs. It is also one that you do not hear mentioned by many people due to its somewhat “clandestine” nature. - Volks has created a very real air about their product in terms of artistry and respect. I daresay it is almost ‘cultish’ in nature. I feel comfortable throwing these words around due to images like the following on “SuperDollfie World View”:
Volks Dollfie Timeline (image credit Volks USA) - This was once a very real image used to describe the Super Dollfie product line on the Volks USA web site before the redesign (in 2014).
Volks clearly indicates that Super Dollfie is a spiritual experience and the dolls are linked to the owner throughout the life cycle, as well as in death. -- I cannot explain what is happening here but there’s obviously some hits on reincarnation, our relationship to our dolls and… something cosmic that indicates that these dolls should be perceived to be as very much alive.
As per Volks Inc. Super Dollfie are often referred in literature as “another self”. They are also called ”dear sons and daughters” as well as angels (or "tenshi" in japanese), spiritual beings that reflect our own traces of personality as they "leach" or are "connected by" the live of their owners. - It is also suggested that terms such as “bought” are vulgar when describing the acquisition of a Super Dollfie, when a Super Dollfie comes to its new owner, both, owner and company, refers to this as “welcoming” or “adopting” a Super Dollfie.
In Japan at the “Angels’ Sanctuary” (“Tenshi no Sato”) there is something called an “Omukae (meaning ‘picking up’) Ceremony” which new owners can elect to partake in. - This event in the past has often been overseen by company president Shigeta himself. - The event is quite spectacular: After a speech by the Volks official who is presiding over the ceremony, new owners walk down an aisle to stand at the foot of a large statue who resembles the Virgin Mary (called "Mother Super Dollfie"). - At the base of the statue lies a special box enveloped with light, gauzy fabric. Within this material lies the new Super Dollfies who are waiting to be welcomed by the owner to their lives. - Then the presiding official will carry a lit candle to the owner and light candles at either side of the aisle in front of the statue.
The overhead lights dim and the room is enveloped in candlelight. Then, after a long speech by the Volks official, the owner blows out each candle on either side of the altar. The owner is to lift back the fabric and reveal their new “other self” and welcome it into their arms. - Thus a new Super Dollfie has come to life!
It may all seem very strange to outside eyes but when put in context of the cultural importance of ‘dolls’ worldwide the mysticism behind Super Dollfie begins to make quite a lot of sense.
