The future of Bon Jovi tours hangs in the balance as frontman Jon Bon Jovi opens up about his ongoing recovery from vocal cord surgery. While the iconic band gears up for the release of their 16th studio album, "Forever," a question mark remains on their touring prospects. Recovery Taking Precedence Over Touring Plans In a recent interview with Mix 104.1 Boston, Jon Bon Jovi expressed his uncertainty about returning to the road. The singer revealed his ongoing recovery process following a major vocal cord surgery in 2022 and acknowledged the physical demands of touring. "I don't know about a tour," Bon Jovi stated. "I desire to do a tour next year, but I'm just still recovering from a major surgery." This news comes amidst the band's 40th anniversary celebration and the exciting announcement of their highly anticipated album, "Forever," slated for release on June 7th. This condition threatened his very ability to sing, a prospect he described as having his "craft being taken from me." The surgery, performed in 2022, aimed to restore his vocal health. While Bon Jovi emphasizes his positive recovery trajectory, the physical demands of a rigorous touring schedule remain a concern. Balancing Recovery with the Desire to Perform Despite the uncertainty surrounding tours, Bon Jovi's passion for music shines through. He acknowledged the long and demanding nature of a tour, requiring him to perform "two-and-a-half hours a night four nights a week for months on end." He further emphasized his unwavering determination to achieve this goal: "And so I'm working towards that goal." A Legacy of Rock and a New Album on the Horizon The news of Bon Jovi's potential touring limitations doesn't diminish the band's monumental achievements. Having been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Bon Jovi continues to be a force in the music industry. Their upcoming album, "Forever," marks another significant milestone in their journey. The band celebrated the album release with the single "Legendary," a fitting tribute to their enduring legacy. As fans eagerly await the full album, the question of a tour continues to linger. Jon Bon Jovi's dedication to his craft and his ongoing recovery process offer a glimmer of hope for future live performances. However, fans will have to wait and see if the legendary singer can reclaim his full vocal power and return to the stage. FAQs Q: Is Jon Bon Jovi retiring? Vocal Cord Surgery - explained By Dr. Rajesh Bhardwaj (Award Winning ENT Surgeon)
Tumblr media
Vocal Cord Surgery
Vocal Cord surgery is performed when the vocal cords have growths, such as, polyps, tumors, or other masses that need to be removed for biopsy or to improve function.
The child will usually exhibit a hoarse or raspy voice.Vocal Cord surgery is also indicated to normalize vocal cord functioning when the vocal cords are scarred from various causes, paralyzed, or are otherwise abnormal.
These conditions may interfere with the complete opening and/or closing of the vocal cords, which is necessary for normal speech and breathing.Surgery on the vocal cords can be performed either directly in an open surgical approach (making an incision in the neck) or indirectly through an endoscopic approach (through a tube inserted into the mouth and throat).Either procedure is performed under general anesthesia (the patient is fully asleep).
Recovery after either an open or endoscopic approach includes minimizing damage to the larynx during surgery, as well as reducing inflammation after the surgery. Therefore, your surgeon will recommend the procedure he/she feels will minimize these complications.

After a long day in the city today visiting with my speech therapist and learning my voice is more in the female range following my vocal cord surgery and my speech therapy sessions. Here I am wiped out though after walking 10 miles in the heat trying to get a more girlish figure but it took a toll on my body and I really need sleep now. #transgirl #transwoman #transgendergirl #transgenderwoman #maletofemale #feminine #fashiongirl #littleblackdress #blackdress #blondehair #blueeyes #girlslikeus #speechtherapy #voicetherapy #vocalcordsurgery (at Levittown, New York)

It has officially been 168 hours since I woke up to this sign hanging in front of me at the hospital. Today I start the long, slow road of building up my vocal stamina. In other words, I get to talk again! Still a few more months til I'll sing like Adele though. 😄🎤🎉#farewelltonodes #defeattherasp #unmute #vocalcordsurgery #5minutesandcounting #illtakeit (at GBMC - Greater Baltimore Medical Center)

I love being a transgender woman and although I'm 56 years old in chronological age I feel young and happy at heart and it took me a long time to become pretty in my own eyes from a purely physical perspective. I could never take pictures of myself as a guy but as a transgender woman my cell phone camera is my best friend because I love capturing my femininity and my male to female progression which I must say I'm very pleased with and although I'm not really noticed by others or complimented by family or friends I know I am beautiful both inside and out but as a guy I never felt beautiful because I wasn't. I was an ugly looking guy but that had nothing to do with my transition. My transition was something I fought all throughout my life and I tried all throughout my life but the timing was bad and I wasn't emotionally ready. Then after family tragedy and feeling completely lost and devastated and experiencing my gender dysphoria more than ever I made the bold step at age 50 to embark on my journey towards transgender womanhood and I couldn't be any happier. I just have to help my son cope with my transition as do I as it's very difficult emotionally, mentally and physically and to combine that with mental illness, suicide history in the family, bipolar disorder and raising an 18 year old autistic son and helping out my wife's family from the Philippines makes it even more complex to deal with. I just had my vocal cord surgery which I'm still recovering from, then I'm hoping for surgery to remove a lipoma on my back pushing against my spine which is the size of a plum and finally awaiting surgery down below to change my male physical genitals to female constructed genitals known as gender reassignment surgery. #transgendergirl #transgenderwoman #transgirl #transwoman #transgenderjourney #feminine #dresses #femininefashion #fashionista #hairbows #womensboots #maryjaneshoes #bluefloraldress #jacket #pinkdress #genderreassignment #vocalcordsurgery #voicefeminization #lipomaremoval #blonde #girly (at Levittown, New York)

Walking along Central Park up by my doctors office at Mount Sinai Transgender Center at E 98th Street and taking a leisurely stroll down 5th Avenue to Penn Station. My appointment with my vocal cord surgeon went very well and my voice is now constantly hitting the female range of 220 Hz and as high as 380 Hz! I am very pleased as is my surgeon! #mountsinai #mountsinaihospital #transgendercare #vocalcordsurgery #voice #femalerange #transgirl #blonde #hairbow #transwoman #centralpark #uppereastside #blouse #coat (at Central Park 96 and 5 Av)

Now she must continuously test her voice and refrain from speaking for at least 3-4 weeks and have limited conversation thereafter for 6 months and when she feels up to it she will start doing speech videos to monitor her progress after mid July 2017. #vocalcordsurgery #vocalcords #transwoman #transgirl #subtlevoice #voicefeminizationsurgery #voicefeminization (at Levittown, New York)

Do you like this style of dress for me? I guess I don't always have to wear a dress 👗 and I must admit I do love the blouse and women's Capri trousers. I think I look pretty ok in this outfit. Actually this was the outfit I wore when I went for my vocal cord surgery 3 days ago. #womensfashion #pantsandblouse #capripants #blouses #vocalcordsurgery #transwoman #transgirl #transgenderwoman #transgendergirl #maletofemale #blonde (at Levittown, New York)

I hate to inform you all of my current medical condition but my doctor who recently took my blood tests to see if I am fit for vocal cord surgery at request of the surgeon scheduled to perform it on 4/13 has informed me that my blood test results were not good and she seemed very concerned for my health and wants me to come back tomorrow to get new blood test results. I'm hoping it's just a bad reading the first time and this time it will be ok but she seemed very concerned for my health and welfare but tried to keep her cool on the phone as she informed me that she really needs to speak to me in person about what's going on with my blood that's so alarming to her and she said she is hoping this second reading will come back favorable but if the results are the same as the first test she said she would need to have a long talk with me and would want my wife to be in attendance so I have no idea if it's a matter of life and death but she seems very concerned and has me starting to worry as I was looking forward to my vocal cord surgery and hopeful gender reassignment surgery and if I'm stricken with some form of blood disease that could possibly affect my health adversely I would have to be prepared for the reality of my situation which is at this point still unknown but cause for concern. #bloodtestresults #transgendergirl #transgirl #transgenderwoman #transwoman #medicaldoctor #vocalcordsurgery #lifeanddeath #hopeful #lifeinsurance #bipolar #genderdysphoria #blooddiseases #callenlorde #mountsinaihospital (at Levittown, New York)

I believe this is a hematoma/contusion but it's undiagnosed and it happened the day before I had blood tests taken which my surgeon needs results of for my vocal cord surgery. To any medical doctors out there I have a question that I hope can be answered. I have vocal cord surgery scheduled for 4/13/2017 and my doctor who took the blood which was day after I suffered this major bruise and I'm curious if a hematoma or contusion can have an adverse affect on blood test results since I have to go back to my doctor tomorrow to redo blood test results. I'm hoping this time my blood test results will be ok so I can do the vocal cord surgery! Any doctors in the house that can lend their opinion on this matter??? #contusion #hematoma #bloodtestresults #vocalcordsurgery #callenlorde #mountsinaihospital #medicaldoctor #surgeon #doctorinthehouse (at Levittown, New York)
