how are you hunting all the different vivillion in scvi, i thought they only had the meadow in the game and you had to transfer the others? :o

In pokemon go you can save postcards attached to gifts sent by your friends, and then send those postcards to scvi using mystery gift. Postcards from different regions of the world cause different vivillon patterns to appear in scvi for 24 hours after the postcard is sent. For instance the tundra vivillon I hunted using a postcard from Norway and the polar one I just posted was from sending a postcard from canada.

If you're looking to hunt them yourself, I had a lot of luck getting friend codes for different regions on reddit (though with the blackout idk if the sub is up)

i love the butterflies. i need the butterflies. i cant call myself a true bug collector without the butterflies. i am eagerly awaiting the day when I can bring a full team of ev trained vivillons all with different wing patterns and dumb gimmicks so i can get my ass kicked beautifully in online battles.

Seeking Vivillon!

I'm looking for trainers who live in areas I've not receive (m)any postcards from. I was able to evolve 7 Vivillon patterns so far, with 2 more in the waiting. I primarily look for:

Icy Snow,

Tundra,

Meadow,

Sandstorm,

River,

Monsoon,

Sun,

Ocean,

Jungle,

but the rest are welcome, too. I maxed out Marine, Modern and High Plains by now, but it's still a Scatterbug every 15 gifts, so… ^^

If you are in any of these regions and you would consider adding me, I'd be so happy and grateful! (Please tell me which region/habitat are you from, if you add me.)

In return I can send you postcards from the MARINE region. Not very exciting, I know, I'm in continental Europe.

i may not be making progress on anything that matters (it's friggin thanksgiving week, nobody's open), but by god is my living form dex chugging along

i have just discovered that when a scatterbug generates in pokemon go, the pattern of vivillon that it will evolve into is not only set, it STAYS set if you send it to pokemon home and then move it into a mainline game such as pokemon scarlet or violet. meaning you don't have to accumulate 124 candy per vivillon pattern you want to evolve, you just have to get it to level 12 in the mainline game.

(there is also a situation where you can send a pinned postcard to pokemon scarlet or violet directly to make wild vivillon generate in that location's pattern for 24 hours, but i haven't tussled with that one yet. since i already had these carefully labeled scatterbugs.)
