Singapore Passport Holders Enjoy Unrestricted Access to 192 Countries
According to the latest report by the Henley Passport Index, Singapore passport holders enjoy an incredible advantage, with visa-free access to an impressive 192 countries, securing the top position in the ranking. This surpasses all other countries and reflects the passport's significant strength and travel convenience for its citizens.
Previously, Japan held the first position for five consecutive years but has now been ranked third. Tied for third place with Japan are Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, South Korea, and Sweden, all providing their citizens with visa-free access to 189 destinations.
Germany, Italy, and Spain jointly hold the second place, offering their passport holders unrestricted access to 190 destinations worldwide.
The United Kingdom ranked fourth, while the United States of America dropped to the eighth position, tied with Lithuania, with visa-free access to 184 destinations.
India ranked 80th on the list, granting its passport holders visa-free access to 57 destinations, a position shared with Senegal and Togo.
On the other end, Afghanistan holds the least powerful passport, with access to only 27 destinations. Yemen, Pakistan, Syria, and Iraq closely follow, each with similarly limited visa-free privileges.
The Henley Passport Index, compiled by Henley & Partners, an immigration consultancy based in London, assesses and compares visa-free access for 199 different passports to 227 travel destinations. Each passport receives a score of 1 if no visa is required for entry, and the same score applies if a visa can be obtained on arrival, or if a visitor's permit or electronic travel authority (ETA) is sufficient for entry.
