[Hey!! It comes from tumblr RP etiquette of yesteryear. Everyone used to have OOC or Out of Character tags, some people just did OOC, but it was also pretty common to make fun ones that suited the character you wer RPing, especially if it fit with the OOC acronym. So, Out Of the Crown fits the acronym, and it fits Roman because ya know. Princey.

It's the same with me tagging quote posts and things with ";heavy is the head that wears the crown"--RP blogs used to reblog stuff like that and tag it with "musings" or "in [character name]'s head" to represent that these quotes are things that the character would think, or that would be reflective of them in some way, and I was originally gonna do "in Roman's head" but then I remembered that expression and it fit so well that I had to use it.

Same with why I use semi-colons in my tags and brackets for OOC posts and tags.

This RP culture isn't as prevalent as it used to be a decade ago, but I'm an Old so I still build my RP blogs like this. But I have adapted to say "mod" instead of "mun" like we used to!]

There were official ages from ITV marketing, but they were pretty WTF. They mostly stopped using them once TAG started being picked up by other countries. (As everyone started wtfing at them. 😂) Meanwhile some of the cast said something that contradicted that most wtf aspect and there’s been some other things in the writing too that suggest the creative crew and marketing didn’t see eye to eye... SO. YEAH. uh. Yeah. (Ages are always a mess with Thunderbirds. lol) In end it became pretty ymmv until Rob Hoegee (the head writer) got all specific with how long Jeff’s been gone on us. lol

BUT it might help you to know that Rob IS on record on twitter as saying you can consider a season as roughly a year... so probably at least 3 years have actually passed throughout the series, which does make sense... if Alan was like 15 when show started, he’s now likely 18 (as he is a march birthday) which is the graduating age for north american highschool. (Which generally they do write the boys as being fairly american in their ways/slang/sayings.) Also 15 is pretty common age for learners permits to start learning to drive a car.

Rob also said in an AMA around the start of TAG Scott was in his mid-ish 20s. Hope this helps a bit? (...think I’m gonna make a post myself sorting all this stuff out again. Don’t wanna hijack your post more than I already have here. XDDD)

I am currently having a breakdown over John saying to Lady P "I know dad had you looking into him [The Hood]"

As of season 3, Jeff has been gone 8 years. Due to Haley's Comet, we know a minimum of a year passed between season 1 and 3 (likely two, but one is what im sticking with for now)

Okay. When we see the zero-x explode, the GDF talk about the Hood as if he's very new, but we know he's been around for a little bit because of the TV-21. That's not what's logic breaking. Penny's age is.

She's gotta be somewhere within the vicinity of Gordon's age cause, you know, Pen and Ink.

I'm not sure if the Tracy brothers' ages have been confirmed officially anywhere, but what's generally accepted in the fandom (research based on every little Tracys fic I could find, don't @ me) is that the gap between then is fairly uniform, apart from a bigger gap between Alan and Gordon.

We know that Alan was of a young enough age to struggle to remember Jeff. That's kinda hard to define, since 8 years is a long time even if you aren't young. We also have no evidence that Gordon is having any of these issues, indicating that he was maybe 12, 13? Like, old enough to not have issues remembering.

Taking the seemingly most popular accepted age gap between the terrible two (4-5 years), Alan would therefore have been around 8 when Jeff dissapeared (which fits with how old he would need to be when graduating high school).

Why am I talking about Alan? Because I got off track, BACK TO PENELOPE

If Penny is the exact same age as Gordon, Jeff would have been sending a 13 year old on an investigation. But there's no reason she has to be the same age. Lets say she's three years older than Gordon. Now he's sending a 16 year old after an international Supercriminal! Can you see why my mind is broken yet?!?!?

Being super, super generous, I'll consider Penny 18 at the time of Jeff's disappearance. Disregarding the fact she would have had very few connections in order to actually do an investigation, she still might not have been 18 when told to look into the Hood! And honestly, her being 18 makes the thing with Gordon a little dodgy, so I'm gonna assume she was younger

The obvious IRL reason for this is that when season 1 was in production, season 3 hadn't been planned out, which I guess is reasonable. It's still gonna confuse me though

Cripes Anon. You didn't read what I actually wrote, did you? You just read a tag. I'm not disappointed people don't like a character. I got no issue with that. Why would I?! Blimey.

I was disappointed that it seems many were supportive of the notion that a female character has less depth because she had dressing in a “pretty” way stripped away. (More of what I’m getting at I tried to write in my reblog.) Few seem to see how that comes across... that’s what left me feeling that way.

Could I get a matchup please? I tend to come off as intimidating when I’m alone, but that’s just because I’m terrified of people. When I’m with my friends I’m super loud and excitable. I’m kind of the Remus of my friend group if you know what I mean. I like making music and drawing or painting. I also love to do debate in MUN even though it terrifies me to speak in front of people. Generally, I’m a bit annoying and touchy but that’s just because I care about my friends and because I like hugs.☺️
