I think this'll be my last update on this sketch. Sadly, I can't finish editing this work without my app committing death. Haha, It happens after 400 layers. But, hey, at least it got the general vibe, right? :P

Below the Spoilers is some easter eggs and tid bits about this sketch. (Hidden meanings and all that)

The Windows (Starting from the left to the right):

The marriage of Luceris and the MC. This most definitely wouldn't be something I would expect to be in the Palace proper but I imagine a great deal of artists would find ways to dramatize the 'wedding'.

This window depicts the past- namely the burning of the Vesphire Palace. I know you can't see it thanks to the FOUR people covering it. But I did include a mountainous castle with a town, both set to the torch. Including scenes of bloodshed. 1. The window is open, with the cold of Vesphire seeping into the court in the form of icicles and snow.

This window depicts the future. At the time I was drawing this one- Chapter 2 was technically still not out. AND BABES it was the Palace being set aflame. I just- can't!!!! hAHAHA. Anyways, it's completely covered up by Luceris AND Lancelot's body. 2. Like the other window depicting the past, this window is also open. Unfortunately, I couldn't include the smoke that was supposed to be rising from the back. (Hence the strange lighting effect on that side of the room.) It was supposed to signify the poison set by those characters' actions. But, alas. Sketchbook Pro has to be a brat.

Window four depicts the 'Farah poisoned by Catalina' scenario. Except there are cracks in the picture. The full story is not there. Did Catalina really poison Farah? If so, why did she immediately disappear without a trace? Where is she now? 1. If you look closely- I gave Farah the dead Anime mom Haircut- and no, I am NOT taking it back. We all get to live with this information. 2. Catalina and Vesper also bear a striking resemblance. Wearing the exact same dress as one another in both of their respective Stain glass windows. This is brought up MULTIPLE times within Coe's story. So i just wanted to make it even more obvious.

Vesper and Helios.

Why isn't Luceris the one sitting down? Why is Helios holding the MC's wrist? Why does Helios look so pissed? Haha, well babes, this is what I like to call an artistic representation. Neither Helios or Vesper (my MC for Coeluvr's game) are being portrayed as themselves. Instead, they are both being showcased as the embodiments of their kingdoms, Rosea and Vesphire.

Vesphire is ensnared by Rosea. Trapped. Unable to escape.

Likewise, the MC, Vesper, is JUST barely touching the throne. So close to those who destroyed their life. Yet too far from true freedom

Meanwhile Helios, or in this case, Rosea is the only one able to sit, to relax. They are the one with control in this situation.

I am going to pick the voice actors for my gods, RS’ dream cast for her LO live action is just for points and not even there to play the roles and she only picks her celebrity crush Mads to be Christian blue I know. Not in the sense that William made Vincent. Maybe more akin to the way that Alexis made Sam: unwarranted, unwanted, unwelcome. Three words to describe the process of transformation from the you who lived Before and the you who lived on After. Who lives now, in the present. Funny how sometimes it feels less and less like a gift. Three is a magic number, and you are slowly becoming more and more acquainted with the concept of magic.

You love Vincent. You love the life you share with him, you love the glimpse into another world he showed you.

You hate Adam. You hate what he took from you, you hate that he thrust you fully into that world, only recently made known to you. Whether you wanted to be a part of it or not.

Groseille is a kind soul, who always tries to cheer up those close to her, and help those in need, she uses joy and humor to try to hide her sadness and anger. However, like any other person, she has a dark side. In Groseille's case, it is her jealousy and thirst for revenge. She wants revenge on Luceris and all those who helped him in the death of her family. She envies the lives of others and feels jealous whenever someone she likes is close to other people. Even though she always feels guilty when she feels this way, she fears being abandoned, despite always joking about it. She uses jokes as a way to defend herself from her own insecurities and fear. She loves to cook, especially sweets. She says that sweets make life sweeter. She makes sweets and gives them to everyone, including Luceris. But she would deny it to her death if someone asked her if she makes sweets for him too. Part of her feels sorry for Luceris, but she still doesn't forgive him and wants revenge. Her bad habit is sleeping too much. She can spend a lot of time sleeping. There was one occasion when they needed Naima's help because Groseille hadn't woken up for two days, which scared some people in the palace.

Lancelot & Luceris: She has grown very close to Lancelot over the years. She sees him as a father figure. He has always taken care of her. However, she feels insecure around him. Part of her fears and knows that if Lancelot had to choose between her and Luceris, he will choose Luceris. She feels a small pang in her heart whenever she thinks about it, and she feels that in some way she is part of Lancelot and Luceris' relationship, like that chain that at the same time unites them also divides them. She hates it. She feels that they are both trapping her in a cage. But in the same way that she cannot help but hate Luceris, she cannot help but love Lancelot.

Fadya: Groseille and Fadya have been best friends since they met, Groseille finds Fadya funny and very capable of doing amazing things, For Groseille Fadya is the brightest star that has ever been seen. However, Groseille doesn't like sharing Fadya with others she doesn't know, but she's never said that to Fadya.

Hunter: Groseille sees Hunter as one of her best and only friends. Even when she first arrived Hunter was kind and nice to her when almost no one else was, she missed him so much and would love to repay that birthday dance they had Groseille fears that he will stop being her friend and find someone better than her and abandon her.

Vincent:Despite everything, she has always tried to be kind to Vincent, but she likes to tease him, like making harmless jokes or teasing him just to see how he will react. She wishes he liked her, because she has nothing against him and even finds him cute, but the way he treats her, she thinks he will never see her in a good light.

Soarine: Despite not knowing her that well yet, Groseille hopes that they will become close, she finds Soarine charming and bold, she wants to help Soarine with her problem, and maybe get more information from it

♡Helios♡: When she was younger, she was envious of Helios, because while he was a child who had family, friends, and his kingdom, she had nothing. In a way, it was like looking back at her past and it made her feel sick. But as time went by, she began to see him in a different light. She saw that he was nothing like his father. He was kind, intelligent, and had a heart of gold. She soon realized that she couldn't hate him. She really wanted to get closer to him, get to know him better, become his friend, and not just watch and admire him from afar. But there had always been a barrier between them, a barrier called Luceris. After their conversation in Helios' mother's room, she felt something she had never felt before, something that confused her. She felt her heart beat faster, even if only briefly. She felt touched by what he had done for her, so that she could go to her homeland.

How I see it, to get a idea of why Vincent's route, we just got to look at his close friend and counterpart Helios as a comparison.

With Helios, we have someone who was born/raised with a kindness similar to his mother and who, fortunately, was not influenced much by Luceris to see MC in a cruel light. He's felt awkward around them because, frankly, the whole situation around MC is awkward, especially because it heavily involves his father. But there was never anything fueled by hatred and while he has been conflicted because he loves his dad, it hasn't stopped him from seeing how unfair and messed up everything has been for MC, even if he may not have a indepth understanding of them. While it in no way makes the romance with him burn fast, it makes sense that Helios isn't as weighed down as Vincent both because of his general personality and his past interactions, while awkward, never went into cruel territory.

Then there's the man of the chapter hour, Vincent. From the moment he met them, he started off as a cruel bully to MC when they were already at the lowest and that behavior went on for a good number of years from the looks of it; right off the bat, the origins of Vincent's connection to MC can be described as hostile and unpleasant. Ikram having a hand in shaping that negative view of MC (a lot of negative things can be spoken about with Luceris, but he at the least didn't try to shape Helios' personal opinions on MC), his original admiration and yearning for his mother's approval, and his own close bond and protectiveness of Helios only further fueled his hatred of MC. He's certainly less hostile now, but he's still got years worth of keeping MC at arms length and, unlike Helios, has no motives at the moment to want to understand MC and their plight better. That's not something that will change overnight and will need active work from both ends to overcome the rough start to make a more positive connection to each other.

This was basically my long winded way of saying Vincent being a second most slowburn bond, romantic or platonic, makes sense considering that his history with MC was really bad. Also makes it very foreboding that despite Hunter's general friendliness towards MC, something of their own past makes them the most slowburn romantic bond MC can pursue. What dark secrets behind that smile...

People always expect for Helios to be THE slowburn of the century, and in a way it is because it's so juicy and slow in its own way, but Helios is much more open and has practically no walls around himself. He's very approachable and it's almost easy for the heart to fall for him despite the history that surrounds them.

Vincent is the complete opposite, his walls are super high and he's very guarded and he makes that very clear. With MC, he's not approachable nor friendly nor does he even want to change that about himself because he doesn't want anything to do with MC.

It will take time to change that, it's slow as hell because they have to reach a point where they're at least friendly and then we can finally go to romance.

Aside from that, I find it hard to imagine that MC who suffered from Vincent's words in the past would be falling head over heels for him so soon when it's canon they don't particularly like him at this point because of the past. He will have to change his behavior around MC for there to be anything at all, so enjoy the process. 🫡

Hunter is a whole other matter but I do hope people enjoy all the routes hehe. 🫶

Collab of the Century

Over the past few days, I've done a very interesting collab with @jasperygrace. In this collab, we drew two of each others' characters while swapping clip studio files for different stages of our art processes. I created the sketch, then they made the line art, and I finished with color and rendering.

I decided to draw Vincent Helio and Orias, the two main characters of Jasper's novella, An Immortal Laid to Rest. Their art of my characters will be on their blog at some point! Without further ado, the boys:
