wip wednesday 💕
(and a little update)
hi hi hi, I know I’ve been super quiet on here and I truly appreciate how patient and kind you all have been with me through this shitty little period of inactivity 💖
I come to you with good news that while the big sad perseveres (unfortunately), I did have a nice holiday to Vietnam with some friends that I haven’t seen in ages and it was just what I needed and I feel SO refreshed 😊
When we got to Vietnam this was the name of our serviced apartment and it felt like a ✨sign✨ and I ended up writing a bunch on the flight home
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/2074ccbb5867a0b1ecc7b8d4711a7407/5052a1b8ce286934-70/s540x810/33271ce1596000ade39ede40e2fedb9ab8c397a4.jpg)
My friends are staying with me for the next couple of weeks and work is very busy so I’m gonna do my best to finish up the next chapter of Everywhere, Everything so I can post it this weekend. I also wrote a good chunk for my Under the Weeping Willow sequel and that will probably go up next week!
Anyway, I’ll shut up now here’s the shortest little glimpse of the next chapter. I can’t post too much bc every line is a major spoiler lol 🥲😅
“Elain?” Graysen’s voice broke through her spiraling thoughts. “It’s because of him, isn’t it?
“No,” Elain should her head. She couldn’t work out why even now, after everything that had happened, she was still fighting the truth.
“You love him.”
“No,” she shook her head, hating the way tears immediately started to fall from her eyes, as if her body was rejecting the lie.
“Take off the necklace, then.” Graysen jutted his chin towards her chest, his eyebrow raised and his lips set in a hard line. “If he’s not the reason that you can’t say yes to me, if you don’t love him… take off the necklace.”
Elain stepped away from him, swallowing her nerves. She felt dizzy all of a sudden. Everything felt wrong and the air felt thick and heavy and a horrible ball of misery had settled in the pit of her stomach. “I can’t.”
She really couldn’t. She’d only ever taken it off for an x-ray or a massage. She knew it was ridiculous, that it was just a physical object and it wouldn’t be the end of the world if she did take it off, but unclasping that necklace would feel like the end of something and she just couldn’t bring herself to do it.

Hi everyone,
It’s been a while since I’ve posted something from an article. So I wanted to share an article I found listing some ways to practice self-care. According to this article, here are some ways that could help:
Binge watch your favorite TV shows.
This is the first thing I do when I start running out of gas. It’s comforting, I identify with the characters, I know what’s going to happen in the show, and that relaxes me. It’s easy to do, like putting on a Band-Aid.
Spend a day in doing self-care activities.
I got a massage, took long baths, journaled and ate my favorite meals (a lot of Chick-fil-A and ga roti from Vietnam). I tried to spend time outside, but the mosquitoes were bad, so I ensconced myself in my sunroom which has several windows and is very colorful. It’s my happy place.
Meditate or do deep breathing.
I won’t lie, it’s difficult for me to meditate without a guiding app on my phone, and even then, I have trouble. But meditation is so good for you; it helps you be mindful, manage stress, reduce negative emotion and decreases anxiety. As for deep breathing, I always like to do box breathing, where you inhale for four seconds, hold for four seconds, exhale for four seconds, hold for four seconds and repeat. I read that Navy SEALs use this technique.
Go to a therapist or counselor.
I know that I talked my husband’s and my mom’s ears off about the fundraiser, and I could tell they were getting weary of being a sounding board. So I took my issues to my therapist, which is what I’m supposed to do, and it felt so good to release all that negative energy. She let me vent but helped me refocus on the good I was doing, too. I highly recommend therapy/counseling. If you don’t have a therapist, look into Family Counseling Service. It has wonderful therapists and a variety of programs.
Say no.
This is probably the most helpful self-care action you can take. Also the hardest to do. When I was working on the fundraiser, I didn’t say no at first. My type A personality (really, I’m type B) took over, and I wanted to be involved in everything. Soon I became burned out. After more therapy and self-care, I realized that I had to step back and say no. As soon as I did that, I felt way better. I was still involved in every aspect of the fundraiser, which probably annoyed the committee, but I delegated, communicated better and said no when I needed to.
The link to this article will be below if anyone wants to read through it.

Would Terry pay for certain "services" 😉
Because when he was coked out in the 80's I can totally see him paying for those "services" then.
---
Of course he'd pay a sex worker and not just for himself; for others too!
On him!
The masseuse girls in Tahiti, Mamona and her girlfriend, could've been just that for John Kreese at the recommendation of a regular someone who knows they're excellent from personal experience. And his Johnny deserves only the very best --- especially when Johnny's doing a bit blue and needs his mood fixed through quality professionals approved by Terry Silver himself! He wouldn't just drop him into anyone's hands. Massage by the seaside plus a happy ending! What guy wouldn't feel better and drop his self-deprecation after that!? Wouldn't be surprised if the Tahitian resort received explicit and in detail instructions from overseas on how John should be treated and how he likes to be treated from Terry personally, if you get my drift --- and no doubt Terry got off on the fact that he and John technically shared the same ladies. Heck! He was on the phone directly with John while John was having his back rubbed. They even synchronized the fact that they were both in the nude, wrapped in towels, sipping on cool drinks, chit-chatting about REVENGE. It's hilarious.
These dudes are open and proud about it!
I feel they brought it back from their time in the military, if we're honest and it just never went away. You find comfort in working professional girls when you're out fighting in the bush and I think these two kept doing it even after Vietnam in one shape, way or form.
My god, even when Terry's gotten older and dropped the habit of narcotics and other more addictive, hedonistic vices, doubt he's grown out of the habit. His character never really changed; it simply took on a different, more socially-acceptable facade for a brief blip there, but underneath, it's all the same. Do we really think Cheyenne wasn't a higher level 'professional' too? C'mon, now. That was very openly a sugar baby on a payroll having her project kickstarted by him, flat out, and nobody can convince me otherwise.
🤷♀️
How about when Terry flat out offers Shannon a 'job' and it's never stated exactly what kind or what this woman could even do for him, but knowing Terry Silver, what he was offering was for sure several shades of shady and he even rubs it into Johnny Lawrence's face later on, how she's a lovely lady. Deserves so much better. He wouldn't just pay an actual sex worker, he'd proposition people who aren't even sex workers to start working for it because nothing's for free, is it? After all, someone has to reimburse the car he so generously borrowed Robby and Tory for prom along with those outfits, yeah? And who's more fitting than Robby's own mother; a woman otherwise in a vulnerable state of mind with a history of addiction herself --- someone perhaps easily exploitable? The ex-wife of John Kreese's golden boy pupil gone rouge? It would be an amazing opportunity to score a point and break the enemy's morale through messing with their woman transactionally, no?
Man's got that pimp and that dog inside of him and you better believe that.
Everyone's a whore with a price and if they ain't, Terry has ways to make them one to suit his own agenda if he wants to, literally and figuratively speaking.
#even the fact that he 'bought' raymond's silence with an apartment a car and god knows what else just has shades and shades of symbolism#terry silver#kk3#cobra kai#tw; sex workers#tw; prostitution#john kreese#character analysis

Sunday, April 2 thru Wednesday, April 5
It's so hot in Phuket that we find ourselves pretty happy to do . . . not a whole lot. It's a beautiful (did I say hot!?!) place to laze around, swim a little, drink a little, and plan something for later. Lots of reading happening.
The flavors and tastes in Thailand are much more in line with what we had expected of Southeast Asian food. Strong, lovely espresso. Croissants with pistachio (?) spread ~ my fav. Exotic fruits with yogurt. Guava and passion fruit juices. As time goes on though, we've gotten to the point where putting more stuff in our mouths just doesn't sound all that appealing. 🤪
What we've found surprising in Thailand is what seems to be a lackadaisical approach to service. How much is a taxi into town? Quizzical, not a clue look. Do you have a map of Old Town Phuket? Nope. Full stop. Our solo bar tender went outside for a smoke during the height of the evening, with musicians playing their hearts out and empty wine glasses on the tables. Don't think it's the language barrier (which is mammoth), something "off" with the people, or us being entitled. There's just something about the culture that's been difficult to understand from a western perspective. I've come away glad that I didn't teach English here because if I'm to be honest, I may have really struggled. (Course I'm only seeing what we're experiencing in this little corner and I suspect had we gone to a western owned chain resort our experience would have been different.) Now Vietnam on the other hand . . . Those sweet, brave children would have SOOOOO appreciated the cultural exchange and chance to learn. The parents too. That's my take away anyway.

Sunday night market is a MAJOR attraction in the Old Town of Phuket. Just an amazing scene with plentitudes of really great street food. I was able to fit a Thai massage in at Kim's first. (Didn't understand the mechanics of undressing at all and my masseuse guy wasn't super helpful in that department; pretty awkward, but thank goodness I'm old enough to handle it 🙈😂🙈). Finished the evening at a wine bar with a fabulous jazz duo from CA.

Spent the afternoon at the"public" pool. Refreshing for sure ~ and with refreshments too (after an unnecessarily complicated ordering process). Ummmmm, so Thai?

Woke to a video of one of life's incredible moments. It's a boy! 💜💚💜
Second trip into the Old Town for a mani/pedi (can't imagine what was being said about my well weathered heels 🤪) and lunch at Raya's (a local haunt for royals; pretty great curry!) Even bought a pair of linen pants. Big-time focus on Kate day.

Go for a massage
I went to Sans Souci Remedial Thai Massage which was very low key. The service was very nice and the experience was good, and you get a cup of tea at the end which is very nice and relaxing. The tea was a blue green colour which was interesting and tasted slightly sweet like barley but it was nice.
I did an hour’s full body massage with oil which smelled a bit like tiger balm afterwards. It also involved hot stones. I quite enjoyed it as usual but did struggle as usual as I am quite ticklish and sensitive. At the beginning, the lady put her entire body weight on me and was literally crawling up my back and she used her knees to massage my butt - I can’t believe there’s so much trust that I can take her weight. I feel relaxed and much better after the massage but my arms are still a little bit sore from Pilates.
It was a good experience and I am glad I did it. I didn’t quite want to pay for their winter warmer special but it sounded quite good. Now I think of it, it’s strange because it’s summer, but it’s appropriate for the current weather I guess.
I was supposed to go to Pilates after this, but Iman has cancelled because she is going to Vietnam/Cambodia tomorrow and has too much to do and is stressed, so at least I don’t have to trek it out to Parra today for the third time in a row.
I am feeling a little bit better these days, so maybe if truly was just holiday blues. My next goal is to do a paint and sip, but I think I can accomplish one at home, so I’m going to have Courteney, Emilie, Nicole and maybe Chris over for one next Sunday evening, which should be a cute little event - I will go to Kmart and buy all the materials and make little vegetarian charcuterie boards and perhaps some light dinner as well.
Apart from that, I’m not really sure what I have going on. Ryan and I are going to check out a wine bar in Newtown tomorrow evening and then it’s Nicole’s birthday, so perhaps I will kick onto that - I am not really overly keen to go in general, given I went to anime night, I am trying to limit the amount of group things I do and have other things going on, but I think it would probably make sense to go given I am already out.
I am also going to Melbourne early next week with Will Zhong, which should be fun, he has some friends there so we will have dinner and I think he wants to go see the Van Gogh exhibition which I would also like to see, to be honest. I think it should be a good relaxing trip and he’s pretty good company.

Walkabout Traditional Vietnamese Medicine in Da Nang, Vietnam
youtube
I recently had the opportunity to visit the Da Nang Traditional Medicine Hospital, a remarkable institution committed to preserving and practicing traditional Vietnamese medicine. Nestled in the heart of Da Nang, this hospital offers a unique fusion of ancient healing techniques and modern healthcare services, attracting both locals and international visitors. Stepping into the lobby, I immediately noticed the tranquility—a stark contrast to the usual hustle and bustle of typical hospitals. It’s a serene space that embodies the hospital’s focus on harmony and holistic well-being, considering not just the physical but also the mental and emotional aspects of health.
I’ve had my fair share of experiences with traditional medicine, with results ranging from mediocre to surprisingly effective. From massages to acupuncture, my interest was piqued as I toured this expansive facility. The hospital is more than just a single building; it’s a network of specialized centers, including a downtown treatment hub. The hospital’s grounds are vast, much more spacious compared to the compact city center, providing a more relaxed environment. I was thrilled to accept their invitation to film some of the unique treatments they offer.
Traditional Vietnamese medicine, with its roots stretching back over 2,000 years, is deeply influenced by Chinese practices but has evolved its own distinct identity, integrating indigenous knowledge and local herbs. The practice revolves around balancing the five elements—wood, fire, earth, metal, and water—alongside the principles of yin and yang, aiming to harmonize the body’s internal environment with the external world.
One of the fascinating features of the hospital is its pool, which is used for both therapeutic exercises and swim lessons for children. It’s refreshing to see such facilities that blend traditional and modern healthcare approaches. The hospital’s focus on rehabilitative treatments was evident in the neurological rehabilitation unit, where I met Dr. Linh, a specialist in the field. He explained that the hospital serves 20 to 30 patients daily in this department alone, showcasing the high demand and importance of their services.
Vietnam’s diverse flora provides a wealth of medicinal plants, many unique to the region. The hospital even teaches patients how to grow and use these medicinal herbs at home, integrating gardening as part of stroke rehabilitation therapy—a wonderful way to blend physical recovery with traditional practices.
The highlight of my visit was the hospital’s traditional medicine kitchen, an industrial-scale facility dedicated to preparing herbal remedies. Here, herbs are dried and processed using massive heaters before being transformed into various medicinal concoctions. Herbal medicine is the cornerstone of Vietnamese traditional medicine, with a history dating back over two millennia. The hospital’s pharmacy boasts an extensive collection of herbal remedies, many grown right on site. Patients receive personalized prescriptions tailored to their specific health conditions, formulated by experienced herbalists who continue to build on centuries of knowledge.
Another unique experience was the Dragonfire Moxibustion therapy. This traditional practice involves burning moxa, or dried mugwort, near the skin to enhance blood circulation and boost the immune system. I was invited to try it myself for some lower back pain that has plagued me for years. The sensation was surprisingly soothing—an unusual mix of warmth and coolness, much like the feeling of using an icy-hot patch. It’s fascinating how this ancient technique, adapted over time to suit local conditions, continues to provide relief in the modern age.
The hospital also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, where patients breathe pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber to promote healing. I was amazed to find such advanced medical technology integrated into a traditional medicine hospital. This combination of ancient wisdom and modern science exemplifies the hospital’s holistic approach to healthcare.
In addition to traditional therapies like acupuncture and acupressure, which are used to treat a variety of ailments from chronic pain to digestive issues, the hospital’s facilities are designed with patient comfort in mind. From air-conditioned rest areas to comprehensive rehabilitation centers, the hospital’s commitment to patient well-being is evident in every detail.
Visiting the Da Nang Traditional Medicine Hospital was a truly eye-opening experience. The dedication to combining traditional practices with modern healthcare solutions is impressive, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share this journey with all of you. The hospital rarely grants filming permissions, so being able to document and present these unique therapies was a privilege. As the field of health tourism continues to grow, I hope more people will explore the benefits of traditional Vietnamese medicine.
Thank you to the hospital staff allowing me this behind-the-scenes look into an institution that honors Vietnam’s rich medical heritage while embracing the future of healthcare.

How to Choose the Perfect Singapore Cruise Package for Your Honeymoon
When thinking of cruising in Asia, Singapore remains the undisputed choice among couples and families. Your honeymoon is going to be one of the most cherished moments with your significant other, so it can be your experience in Singapore cruises. However, given that there are a number of cruise liners offering their services, not all of them might suit your needs, timing, budget, and even your idea of your post-wedding romantic gateway. So it is important to do your research and choose a service accordingly. And don’t forget to skim through the following if you want to use some practical suggestions.
Define What You Look For
How do you envisage a perfect honeymoon? Why not ask yourself:
Do you want a cruise with exotic destinations or a cruise that offers embalming hospitality, absolute privacy, and a lot of chances to lounge?
How much are you ready to pay for?
Do you have a fancy for any particular cruise line? Or are you okay with a well-reputed company that tends to offer maximum value regarding entertainment, dining, and other amenities?
Do the destinations go with your common interests, which can be anything from culture, beaches, or shopping?
Check for the Itinerary
A number of Singapore Cruise Packages offer various itineraries that might sound tempting. But not all might offer what you are specifically looking for. You can choose by:
Deciding on how long your honeymoon cruise should be.
Check whether the proposed ports of call have the factors that fascinate both of you.
See if any specific cruise is offering themes that you like. They can be anything from gourmet experiences to wellness or romance.
What are the perks?
A number of cruise liners offer upgrades for free to the honeymooners. Or you can also enjoy romantic dinners for a rebated price or even free champagne! So never forget to enquire whether you can enjoy some perks in your package.
Accommodation Matters
Make sure to choose an accommodation that is comfortable, safe, and aligns with your budget and preferences. You can get some excellent deals by comparing and contrasting the services. While booking, you might want to look for extras that add to the luxury quotient. Examples include whirlpool tubs, balconies, and butler service.
Entertainment and Activities
You can make your honeymoon kind of attractive by choosing a cruise that offers what you like. Look for cruises that offer music, live shows, karaoke, spa service, massages, a range of dining options, and anything that promotes romantic amenities.
Real Reviews Don’t Lie
Check online reviews to see what real-life honeymooners have to say about their experiences with specific cruise lines. Services like Cruisebay, for example, have garnered almost unanimously positive testimonials from couples. From honeymoon perks to travel insurance, as they mention, the company covers it all, giving complete peace of mind.
Popular Singapore Destinations
Some of the most reputed cruise lines cover exotic destinations like Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and others. However, the teams can also customize the packages to your needs. Bookings for some of the best-known ships, including the Genting Dreams' and the Anthem of the Seas, are already on for the next year. So, if you want your cabins booked, then consider making it as soon as feasible.
