Being the calm, cool, and collected ten-year-old that Yuuri was, he pretty much knew he had life figured out. He didn’t realize it then, but he was experiencing awe for the first time. The experience of admiration and elevation in response to physical beauty, displays of exceptional ability, or deep emotional expression being put out for the world to see sirening a song into his very being. The awe-inspiring stimulus could only be experienced as vast and difficult to comprehend for his young mind. It challenged his worldview. His limited sense of island and onsen and town, surpassing the scope of his current frame of reference. Suddenly the world was large and round and waiting.
The realization started in the distance with the sound of an oboe, it's low mournful sound calling the start to an event. It drew in the dark eyes. Ten years on this earth. Five years learning, really learning how to glide and turn, twizzle and slide. Jumps were new, and while he wasn't so bad at it, he admitted he was still learning. And thrugh it all, he'd merely done it for fun. It was a joy, just a thing that could easily become a passing phase. Then he saw Victor Nikiforov make the ice his home. The ease, the grace, the way he seemed to tell stories - older than cold itself - called to him. He turned towards his family and smiled, pointing at the television. "I'm going to skate like him!"
"You'll have to practice hard to get to that level," Mari said, staring at the screen. "Gonna be a lot of work."
"I can do it! I'm going to skate on the same ice one day."
Mari grunted, smiling when Yuuri couldn't see. "Right. Well, if you want to do that, we'll have to figure out some things."
"But I can do it right?"
"I dunno. Can you?"
Light illuminated the the determination in Yuuri's awed smile. "I can do anything! I'm gonna do it! Watch me!"
~~~
He lay on the cheep cotton sheets, his silken hair spread like a fan behind him, damp from the shower, smelling of cold and hotel soap. He'd feasted. He'd dined. He'd savored every crumb. Flowers adorned the thin dresser, lay tossed about the bed, tangled in heaps on the table. These were a mere tokens of the crowed gratitude. Tomorrow was the free skate. Tomorrow he would gorge.
As the drops of water glistening against his winter flesh crackled and steamed, evaporating into mist, Victor smiled to himself. Something was fabulous about this new feeling. Something distant and full of wonder. Perhaps his connection to the Dream was growing, becoming more stable now that he wasn't starving.
He heard what the announcers said. He listened to the cries of shock and delight. He felt the pull of there gasps, sucking life out of the room, afraid to let air back in lest it be their last breath. He'd landed a set of daring combos, wanting - no. Needing to make himself known. The shadows in the ice could echo a summers warmth all they wanted. The shred of snow from its surface could succumb to the heat of artificial lights when ever it wanted. They would not move him from his goal. He'd come here for a reason. He was going to find Yuri. Then he would return to the Dream, where precious things were safe from mundane reality.
His eyes closed, cerulean orbs ready to reflect the day in memory. Breath came in long steady pulls. His skin tingled. He lay limp, a smile tugging his lips.
From the mirror hung uselessly on the wall, far from any purposeful placement, a flicker of something darker remained. It watched, waited, and when the Ice King was well and truly in somnic dreams, it flicked with a quiet presence into dark being, watching. Waiting. When no reaction came, the thin comforter pulled itself over the sleeping teen before shimmering thrugh the shadows into a near by chamber.
~~~
"Tell me," Christophe said to the reflection of a very powerful being, "how is the plan proceeding?"
"If any harm comes to Yuri..."
"That's the mortal world, I'm afraid." Before the threat of manifestation became corporal, the spring fey held up a gentle hand. "You have to trust." The lack of response didn't change the weight in the air. It threatened to suffocate Christophe with a sulfuric caress. Gulping, he reached quickly for the dross he kept in the shape of breath mints, popping open the red and white tin. The stench of peppermint threatened to overwhelm. Despite knowing it would hurt, he crunched three quickly.
"He's here! I know he is! We'll complete him, and then he wont be so reckless. That's what you wanted isn't it? For Victor to stop putting lives at risk because he couldn't figure out what was missing?" For a precious moment he thought the shadow wouldn't listen, was to upset. Then the pressure lifted, leaving the smell of spice and warm autumn breezes. Gasping, Christophe swallowed hard. Clamoring to stand, he looked around. The shadows were merely shadows, the mirrors showing nothing more than they should. When he turned to sink into his bed, he cried out in alarm. He'd sat on a dried leaf, it's crinkling decay crunched under his weight.
He was lucky, he knew, to only receive a warning. The Hero didn't do half measures, no unseelie did. They really needed to find Yuri. And Victor's other half. He didn't know they could survive what would happen if they didn't.

Journal Entry #57 (part two)
Journal Entry #57 (part one) // STORY INDEX
Victor
Just in case anyone was getting the impression that mine and Yuri’s time apart has been completely consumed by thoughts of each other and of Yuri's therapy, let me fill you in on what else I've been doing since I've been back in Willow Creek.
To be fair, Yuri is on my mind a lot, and for the first few days I was here, I felt a little bit guilty whenever I was having fun with my friends or doing something new without him, but I'm feeling better about it now. I talked to Yuri and he said he felt the same way at first, but then he realized what a perfect opportunity he had to spend time bonding with his family.
Despite his initial misgivings about staying with his parents, he seems to be having a good time now, and he's obviously happy. I figured if it was okay for him to feel happy without me, it was also okay for me to feel happy without him. I missed him desperately though. No point in trying to hide that.
Anyway, once I got my head around my "temporary bachelor status", as my cousin Leo put it, I started to relax and really enjoy myself.
Speaking of bachelors, Uncle Stephen, Leo and I have been planning the most epic bachelor party of all time for Julian. We decided on an Italian theme because he and Mom are going to Tartosa for their honeymoon. There's going to be Italian food and music, and everyone's going to be encouraged to wear Italian beach club fashion. Uncle Stephen managed to reserve an event room at the Harbourside Haven with a view overlooking the water. It may be Newcrest, but we're gonna pretend it's a Tartosan beach scene.
At first, I thought it was kind of weird to have a theme, but Uncle Stephen said a lot of people have bachelor parties with themes. I deferred to him because what do I know? Nobody threw a bachelor party for Yuri and me, and this was my first time planning one for somebody else. Uncle Stephen has been involved in organizing at least three — his best friend Matthew's, Uncle JP’s, and my dad's — so that makes him an expert, as far as I'm concerned.
"By the time you get around to planning Leo's bachelor party, you'll be an expert too," he assured me.
Leo wants a superhero theme when his turn comes. Probably no surprise there.
Leo, Ellie and I have been spending as much time together as we can, which probably isn't going to be much of a surprise to anyone either. We've been getting up to our usual nonsense; playing soccer and racing bikes in the park, going to the pool and the arcade, and generally just hanging out, but we've been getting some productive stuff done as well.
I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but Julian moved in with Mom around the beginning of January, like maybe a week or two before my accident. He was originally planning to sell his house, but what ended up happening was that he transferred the title to Ellie instead. What that means is, Ellie gets to live in her childhood home and doesn't have to worry about paying a mortgage since Julian managed to fully pay it off a couple of years ago. At the end of April, Leo moved in there with her, and now they're wholly involved with renovating the place to make it exactly how they want.
They're actually not changing it significantly, but even cosmetic changes require a fair amount of work. They had to hire somebody to install their new kitchen cabinets and appliances, but Leo decided they could do the hardwood flooring in the living room themselves, as well as the painting and redecorating.
And that's where I came in. I might not be very good with electronics, but I definitely know my way around carpentry tools. My mom taught me a lot about home maintenance, so I can measure, saw and hammer with the best of them.
Almost as soon as I arrived, Leo enlisted both me and his sister Kiki to help with the flooring. Ellie and Kiki gleefully ripped out all the old carpet, and then they sanded and cleaned the subfloor. After that, Leo and I got down to business. We got the entire living room done over three days, and it looks fabulous, even if I say so myself.
We're all getting pretty good at painting too. Leo, Ellie, Kiki and I painted Ellie and Leo’s living room, kitchen and bedroom, and then I got them to come over to our new house and help me paint mine and Yuri's rooms, our living room and downstairs bathroom.
Robert and Kim did a bunch of renovations before they put the house on the market, so there’s really nothing much that needed to be changed except the colours of a few walls. The only thing I really want to do besides the painting is to install a jet tub in the upstairs bathroom. Yuri got used to having that at Uncle Kaz's place, and I think he should have one here. It’s very therapeutic for him.
You knew I'd inevitably come back to talking about Yuri, didn't you? Some of you are probably laughing over my inability to keep my mind off him. Go ahead. I don't mind. I'm hopelessly in love with him, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
As a matter of fact, Yuri is the whole reason why I was motivated to record this entry tonight, after kinda forgetting about our journal for almost three months. Now that I’ve gotten all the life updates out of the way, I can get to the really good part. It's the part I maybe should’ve led with, but I guess you’ve all figured out by now that I sometimes like to leave the best stuff till the end.
So, here’s the story. It actually started yesterday evening, when Yuri missed our regular seven o'clock FaceTime chat. By seven-fifteen, I decided I'd better call him. He didn't answer, but I wasn’t overly concerned right away because I thought there might just be something wrong with his iPad, so I texted him instead. I started getting scared when I received no reply to that either, and when I phoned him, I got a robotic-sounding error message that said the customer I was trying to reach had the phone turned off.
At that point, I systematically called everyone I could think of who might know what was going on, but Takahiro, Fox and Sakura had no clue, and the most that Mr. Okamoto's personal assistant Koichi could tell me was that Mr. Okamoto was away on important business for the next several days, which didn’t really help. When I tried to call Yuri's parents, I got the same error message I'd gotten when I attempted to call him.
I tossed and turned in bed all night, and every time I woke up, I sent another text to my husband. By seven o'clock this morning, when I still couldn't reach him, I started scrolling frantically through my phone to see if I had his grandparents' numbers. Somebody had to know something.
I didn't have a number for his grandmother or grandfather, but I did have contact information for his boss, Mr. Tanaka. It was a long shot, but I called him, which may not have been the wisest thing to do. Mr. Tanaka didn't have any idea where Yuri was or what might be happening, and I think I might've caused him to worry with my asking him about it.
Around ten o'clock, I was seriously considering getting online and trying to arrange an earlier flight back to Japan. I'm not even joking.
That was when my phone buzzed in my pocket.
I pulled it out and glanced at the screen. It was a message from Yuri.
You ever hear that phrase 'weak with relief'? I literally was, and I sank down the kitchen floor, nearly crying, with my phone still clutched in my hand.
As if he'd been reading my mind, the message said, «I love you and I'm okay.»
«Where are you?» I texted back with trembling fingers.
He sent, «I’m outside. Are you at home?»
Perplexed and still shaking, I replied, «Yeah. Why?»
«Look out the front window.»
Feeling thoroughly confused, I got to my feet, put my phone back in my pocket and made my way from the kitchen to the dining room so I could peer outside. Parked at the curb was a vehicle I didn't recognize. I took off my glasses so things further away would come into sharper focus, and I think i may have let out a small gasp when I realized who was behind the wheel of the unknown blue minivan.
It was Kenji Okamoto.
I was still forcing my mind to process that when the van's side door slid open and first Yuki and then Yuri climbed out. Mr. Okamoto got out of the driver's side to open the front passenger door for his wife, who was holding baby Kinai.
To say I was shocked would be putting it lightly. During all our daily conversations, Yuri hadn't mentioned anything about him and his family travelling. I could only assume they were here for the wedding, which is coming up in four days, but if they were here for the wedding, that would mean Mom and Julian both knew they were coming as well, and yet nobody had breathed a word about any of it to me.
I should've been upset about that, but I was way too excited over being unexpectedly reunited with Yuri to worry about having been kept in the dark. I mean, real talk here, the sound I made when I saw my husband was a lot louder than a gasp. A second later, I was flinging open the front door and flying down the steps, and he was hurrying to close the distance between us too, arms outstretched for an embrace.
I caught him and spun us both around in a circle right there on the walkway. "Yuri! I missed you!"
"Me too," he said, clinging tight as we completed our big, joyful circle. "I couldn't wait to get here. The last couple of hours, I was getting so impatient I could barely cope with it any more."
"This is why I couldn't reach you, isn't it? You were in a plane."
He was laughing. "Ah... surprise?"
"I was freaking out!" I exclaimed. "Like, I was literally just about to change my flight and everything! You should've known I'd panic when I couldn't reach you. Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"
"I'm sorry," he said, as I carefully set him down. "Don't be angry. It was so hard to keep the secret, and I almost let it slip out, but we really wanted to surprise you."
"I'm not angry," I said. "I'm relieved you're okay, and I'm thrilled you're here, but..."
"But what?"
"I thought you couldn't travel," I said. "What about your therapy?"
"We'll only be here for a week," Yuri said. "I'll miss my psychologist appointment this week, and one in-person session with my nutritionist, and a food intelligence class.”
“Can you afford to miss that stuff?”
“I think so,” he said. “The nutritionist scheduled a fifteen-minute video call so I can check in and show her my food diary and talk about any concerns, but she said I’m doing so well that she thinks I’ll be all right even if I miss a full session.”
"So, uh... I guess you're here for Mom and Julian's wedding?"
"Of course," Yuri said. "I promised them I'd play, didn't I? And I've brought my accompanist with me."
Mr. Okamoto laughed at that. "The things I let myself get talked into," he said. "Grace called Yuri about a week ago to ask if he was able to come, or if they should make different arrangements for their wedding music. When he told her he could, she asked if we'd all like to come, and then Julian got on the phone with her and said that if I was coming, I ought to help with the music as well."
"Nothing like being drafted into a project last-minute," I said, amazed that Julian had felt comfortable enough with Mr. Okamoto to even make a request like that. They'd become fast friends when Mom and Julian were in Mt. Komorebi just after my accident, but I didn't think they'd gotten that well-acquainted. I mean, practising a whole set of wedding music with only a couple weeks' advance notice was a huge ask. I'm not sure I'd even ask my best friend in the world to do something like that.
"I don't mind," said Mr. Okamoto, much to my astonishment.
"You don't?"
"Yuri and I hadn't played together in a very long time, and we've been rediscovering how much we like our violin and piano duets. The music isn't that difficult, and we're already familiar with each other's playing style, so I think it'll work out quite well."
"That's...impressive," I said.
"It's an honour for us to play for your parents' wedding."
"I'm grateful to you for agreeing to it," I said, and I totally meant it. One of Yuri's favourite memories that he always talks about is of playing duets with his dad, and I'm glad they've started doing that again. I'm also super happy that Mom and Julian didn't end up having to hire random music students from the local college or something.
I pulled Yuri in for another hug. "And you too, sweet boy. I'm super happy that you... hang on."
"What?" Yuri said.
It'd taken a moment for my brain to register the observation, but it seemed that Yuri felt more solid in my arms than I remembered. "Excuse the change of subject, but have you gained weight?"
I know... not a very smooth question, right? In any other context, it would probably seem rude, but for us it had the complete opposite meaning.
Yuri drew back a little so he could look up at me. His face practically radiated happiness, and his beautiful smile accentuated the new fullness in his cheeks. "You noticed."
I slid my hands down his sides. "I can barely feel your ribs."
"I gained four kilos since you last saw me in person," he told me.
"In three weeks? Really? That's like, more than a whole kilogram per week." I glanced over his shoulder at his parents. "What have you been feeding him?"
From beside her father, Yuki piped up, "Milkshakes!"
"Not just milkshakes." Mr. Okamoto interjected hastily. He seemed to feel the need to be accountable to me, to prove they hadn't been so reckless as to let Yuri subsist on such a limited and arguably unhealthy diet. "He's been trying all sorts of new foods, haven't you, Yuri? But he does enjoy his strawberry milkshakes."
Of course I knew he'd been consuming more than milkshakes, but I acknowledged Mr. Okamoto's explanation with, "I'm glad you've been getting him to try new stuff." And then to Yuri, "Have you tried any other dairy products?"
"Real butter," he said. "And cream of broccoli soup. I didn't like that."
"Because of the broccoli, I guess. What about cheese?"
He made the most adorable face, scrunching up his cute button nose in distaste. "No. Cheese is disgusting."
"Unless it's in strawberry cheesecake," his father commented, looking entertained. "You should've seen him devouring that."
I raised an eyebrow. "Yuri, you ate cheesecake?"
"Mm-hmm, and cinnamon buns and dango. Oh, and ice cream!" Yuri said. "I can't believe I've been missing out on real ice cream this whole time."
“He’s been making up for it,” said Mr. Okamoto. "I've never seen anyone eat so many desserts."
"Well, I guess that explains the four kilos," I said.
Yuri offered up a grin that somehow managed to be simultaneously angelic and cheeky, "Aren't you proud of me, Victor?"
"Very," I said. "Four whole kilograms. That's awesome. You don't want to shoot past your goal, though. I hope you've been eating low-fibre vegetables and healthy proteins along with all your desserts."
"I don't like vegetables," he said.
"You like carrots and squash. I'll make you some carrot soup. That'll be the next thing for you to try, okay?"
"Okay." He leaned into me and nuzzled his cheek against my chest. "I'll eat it on one condition. You need to take me on a date to that ice cream place you're always talking about, with the forty flavours."
I laughed out loud and gave him an affectionate squeeze. I was beyond happy he'd discovered something new that he wanted to eat. "If you're not too tired from the trip, we can go this evening after dinner," I told him. "On one condition."
"Oh? What condition?"
"I know how much you love anything with strawberries, but The Frozen Cone has forty flavours. I really want you to try something other than strawberry."
"Peach?" he ventured.
"Good choice. They probably have that. They usually have orange-pineapple too, and cherry."
Yuri hummed softly, a little sound of satisfaction. "Let's try peach and cherry. I don't want to taste pineapple until we go to Sulani, okay? I want to save that experience for a really special occasion."
"Okay," I agreed.
"If we get a scoop of each kind in a bowl, we can share. Would that be all right?"
"That sounds perfect," I said.
"And you can feed me," he whispered, but evidently not quietly enough to prevent his father from overhearing.
Mr. Okamoto sounded torn between scolding and amusement. "Yuri—"
"One spoonful, because you're cute," I said. "But you'll be on your own for the rest of it. Rules are rules, you know."
"I tried," he said.
"Full marks for effort." I laughed, and kissed the top of his head. "Come on. Let's go inside. I can show you the paint job Leo and I did in your bedroom, and we can give your family the grand tour."
"Our family," he said.
"Our family," I repeated. I nodded to my in-laws. "Come on in."
Mr. and Mrs. Okamoto both thanked me and bowed respectfully, but I think Yuki forgot her manners in her excitement. She bounded forward and grabbed one of my hands. "Yuri said there's a ghost! Can I meet her?"
I smiled. "Well, that'll be up to Sachiko. I think if you call her Kobayashi-san and remember not to use her favourite mug, she'll come out and meet you. Don't be too surprised if she starts making small objects fly around the room, though."
Mrs. Okamoto frowned. "Are you saying the house really is haunted?"
"That's why the asking price was so low," I told her. "Don't worry, though. Sachiko isn't a bad ghost. She's just been here longer than we have, and she thinks it's her place, so her rules should apply."
"I... see," said my mother-in-law.
"What's this about the mug?" asked Mr. Okamoto.
"It's a red one," I said. "It's Sachiko's, and she's very possessive of it. No pun intended."
"Well," said my father-in-law. "A ghost with a mug, a wedding, and my son wanting to go to a forty-flavour ice cream shop. This should be an interesting week."
I couldn't resist a grin. "Family," I said. "Welcome to Willow Creek."

Can- can I just talk about the Victuuri relationship? Pretty please?
I just…. I’ve never seen a healthy relationship that starts from idolization and a need to get out that has ended in a satisfying way.
Let me elaborate:
We all know that Yuri idolized Victor. It’s why he was so nervous in the beginning and why it took time for them to build on their relationship, he saw Victor as a god.
Victor? He was depressed. He loved the ice so much but he longer found excitement in competitions. He didn’t have any worthy opponents that had a chance of beating him (sorry Chris).
I believe Victor “fell in love” at the banquet. He was attracted to Yuri but, even though he lost, he also saw potential in him. That night was probably the most exciting night for him in a long time. I think he felt genuine affection for Yuri but also saw a way to get out of his predicament.
Then, of course, Yuri didn’t show up the following season (a year had passed before the present timeline). He was most likely annoyed that someone who had gave him excitement didn’t show up. Did he think Yuri had a chance of beating him at first? Probably not. Did he see potential or at least someone he could have fun with during the season? Hell yes!
And then when he saw the video of Yuri skating Stay Close To Me, something that awarded him a gold medal. That’s all he needed. He saw how Yuri not only skated it perfectly but I bet he thought Yuri skated it better. Let’s not forget that emotion is a huge part of skating. If you don’t skate with the passion your supposed to hold for whatever theme you have, your performance can almost seem futile. Victor obviously won because he perfected it but if it was based on how he presented it alone, he would’ve lost. He saw someone worthy of skating an gold medal piece while also having the heart to do it. That’s talent.
Anyways, because of this, their relationship doesn’t hold well in the beginning. He’s passive aggressive towards Yuri because he doesn’t see his own talent and Yuri is just going along for the ride because holy shit it’s Victor fucking Nikiforov.
As they get to know each other and Yuri opens up more (plus Victor getting info on Yuri from the others) Victor starts to see Yuri as an actual person and not someone he can use to project himself onto and then later skate against. And Yuri starts to see him as an actual person too.
I saw on another post talking about how we didn’t see them during the summer and how the end credits of every episode suggest they got to know each other better as both in the credits and in the show they (Yuri) are able to touch each other more. I 100% believe this.
I also believe they might’ve had an argument or two on this topic. It’s not easy to switch from inadvertently seeing someone as anything but a person to an actual person with emotions and feelings. I believe Victor would’ve tried to back away from this subject but Yuri wouldn’t let him. It wasn’t big arguments like in episode 7. It was probably little quarrels that annoyed them both but after having a long conversation they finally started to become more comfortable with each other.
Yuri started letting go of the notion that Victor was a god like creature and Victor saw him as something other than a pawn. Yuri stopped getting as embarrassed with Victor touching him and Victor stopped trying to seduce him as much just so he could see the man from the banquet.
This most definitely leads the way towards a healthier relationship but episode 7 was inevitable. Yuri’s anxiety was at an all time high when he comes out on top. The fact that he needs to stay on top and not mess up is getting to him. As a person with anxiety, it’s pure hell. The thoughts of failing won’t get out of his head and even as he turns off all the monitors he can still hear everything.
Victor takes him away from prying eyes and has no idea what to do. Despite an obvious change that would’ve had to include some emotions from both occurring over the summer, he still has no idea how to help someone in distress.
Then he makes his first mistake. Yuri is visibly shaken by someone’s scores (can’t remember who) and Victor, who is at his wits end, yells at him to stop listening and puts his hands over Yuri’s ears. This tells Yuri how nervous Victor is too and despite knowing that Victor wouldn’t leave him now it shows to him that Victor doesn’t have faith in him (even if he does).
Victor tried to shatter Yuri’s heart. He must’ve expected Yuri to maybe sign heavily but tell him that he’ll do everything in his power to win (probably something that’s happened with him and Yakov). Instead he see’s the consequences of his carelessness. Yuri rightfully lashes out at him and even through all that Victor stills says “should I kiss you?”. Idk what Yuri was thinking but if I were him I would be extremely offended that Victor would try and use me like some doll he can play with and can assume that physical affection and love can fix everything, which was probably what Yuri was thinking.
There’s something off about Yuri and Victor when they emerge but Yuri is surprisingly better now. Cathartic crying can do wonders, kids. There’s also my favorite part of the entire show (couldn’t find a gif):
*head jab* “Hey, fuck you.”
*more head jabs* “Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you. I know you don’t like this you unempathetic dicknip.”
*head pat* “You’re forgiven.”
We all know what happens next: Yuri ends his love story with Victor’s signature move and Victor kisses him out of joy and the need to one up him (with love, of course).
I’m gonna get a little sloppy here with the timeline because I have the memory of a female protagonist that needs to go back to work to get something only to accidentally bump into the jerk CEO of which she will develop a toxic relationship for fan service, so forgive me.
Gonna skip ahead to the scene where Yuri tells Victor that he’s leaving skating, and basically Victor too. (At this moment I realized I’ve been spelling Viktor with a c and not a k which is really fucking with my brain but it’s too late to go back). Victor starts crying and realizes just how Yuri felt when he was rejecting him.
I believe Yuri found some light in the situation because of that fact, which Victor was not having. They’ve been closer than ever now. They’ve kissed, they’ve also announced they they’re getting married, so what the hell?!
Yuri, as we know, feels he’s keeping Victor from the ice. Victor, while he misses the ice and wouldn’t mind being competitive again, has found meaning and if he’s going to be Yuri’s coach to stay where he is than so be it.
He wanted to coach Yuri because he wanted a worthy competitor and while he still wants that, what matters most now is his relationship with Yuri. If he stops being Yuri’s coach and Yuri goes off the ice he knows it will be the end. Yuri loves the ice too and I’d bet he’d try to distance himself from Victor as to not feel regret from leaving without actually knowing that he’s doing it.
They’ve grown so much at this point. But that doesn’t mean it’s over. After all they’ve been through Yuri doesn’t realize that consequences of parting from one another. While being too dependent on your spouse isn’t good, it’s what they both need right now. They are what caused the other person to be happy again and while I hate those types of storylines this one executed it perfectly.
I find Victor’s silent plea to Yurio absolutely heartbreaking. He knows it’s bad to put pressure on people but now he’s doing that to a 15 year old boy. He’s putting his relationship and his life into this child’s hands because he knows there’s nothing else he can do.
I do think Yurio had a crush on Yuri but even if he didn’t: Yuri has taught him so much. He, although being an ass most of the time, has really come to love Yuri as family. It’s clear that Yurio was always lonely (Otabek being his first friend and all) but once he came to Japan and lived, truly lived there, he wasn’t lonely anymore.
Yurio wins, Yuri gets silver and all’s well that ends well.
I guess my point of this was to show how well the relationship in YOI was. I could’ve included some more detail on some points but I usually write stuff in one take (it’s very hard to revise without my mind shutting on itself).
I just love how an implicitly toxic relationship can come out so healthy. They don’t do any of that miscommunication bullshit and when they do it’s because the characters don’t know what to do or how to handle something. Like humans do!
They could’ve easily made this the hot famous guy thinks the kawai girl boy is just so adorable and the kawai girl boy is absolutely infatuated with the hot guy. Hijinks ensue which includes the kawai girl boy thinking the hot guy is in love with someone else. She He gets pushed into thinking that she’s he’s more independent in the end and happily ever after for the couple that will divorce in less than five years! Yay!
Seriously, I thought that was what was going to happen but YOI subverted my expectations so much. They are people that grew from their bad mindsets. And you know what? Yuri still has anxiety! Victor is still bad with handling emotions! And that’s ok! We don’t change that quickly. It takes time and hopefully another season.
I’m definitely using this show as a template for healthy relationships. It’s so hard for me to properly write them when I’ve never been in one and I’m not given the chance to see it happen in different environments (when searching it up all I get is “they trust each other. They blame each other. They’re compassionate.” Like ok but can you show me how?)
Yuri!!! On ice…. I love you so much. You have done so much for my mental health and my writing. Thank you.

¡Skate/sing your hearts out! (Yuri Plisetsky x reader)
(part one)
part two part three part four part five. Find the rest on; Masterlist
Summary: After last year's cancellation of Figure Skating Grand Prix, Yuri Plisetsky finds himself unable to bring out his inner skater after a year of doing nothing but enjoy life like a regular teenager. That's when you enter the picture; We Are Voice Grand Awards's currently hottest competitive vocalist come first place two years in a row. Just like the other competitors of Grand Prix, it turns out that Victor and Yuuri faces the same issue. With an arrangement between Victor and Yakov, they agree to travel to Japan and hire you as a mutual coach for Yuri and Yuuri to help bring back the emotion into their performances like before, maybe even more intense than ever. Yuri however, who's never experienced issues with his coaches before, for some reason finds this one particularly difficult to coexist along with in their (reasonably) odd partnership. Warnings: none
*Yuri's POV*
"Remind me once again why we're going to Japan? It's clear you'd never take us there just because you miss Victor and I know by experience that it's not because of his apprentice."
First class flight like usual. The view out the airplane window of the sparkling city at nighttime below them would stun anybody but at this point, Yuri has traveled so many times it's only become regular sights and the lights of the streets are only plain colored spots in a dark void to him these days. One thing he will never feel comfortable with though is staying in the same seat for hours on end until the airplane arrives at its destination. His legs are itching from wanting to move around. He'll just have to jog it off back on the ground like every other trip in the past.
"You'll be spending some time with Yuuri Katsuki and Victor the following weeks to gain your fighting spirit back. You need to get back in touch with your emotions, remember?" Yakov slightly turned his posture towards the Russian skater beside him, folding his newspaper in half and putting it in his lap.
He only nodded with a slight hum. He could see Yakov's reasoning, some parts of it at least. He HAD been lacking in emotional performance ever since the new year began and it was time to get back into the mindset of winning yet another Grand Prix gold medal like last year. No, not last year. Last year's competition was cancelled after a minor pandemic spread through Russia and the nearby regions. In fear of the virus spreading, all competitions cancelled and larger crowded areas were forbidden to take place. Therefore Yuri's only been able to practice by himself and keeping himself fit for a possible competition next year. But a year of doing nothing can really change your spirit and afraid to admitting it to his coach, he's been missing several opportunities to hit the rink and stayed home watching anime or scrolled through social media instead.
But one thing he doesn't get is how Victor and Yuuri are gonna make him get his mindset in the right track again. He already won his first gold medal at his senior debut and he doubt that the Japanese skater will be in any better condition than Yuri's currently in right now. Pig-man must've been in a much worse state considering his boo Victor had to stay in Russia during the pandemic, unable to keep an eye on Yuuri's routines.
"Besides, there's a little surprise waiting for you where you'll be staying with the two of them. It better work out fine or else I'm out of ideas."
That caught his attention to say the least.
"Well if it's supposed to save me from the deep end then why be so secretive and hushy with it? Spill the news, Yakov."
The old man only grunted and picked up his newspaper once again and hid his face behind it. Well now he really wanted to know what it was. Clearly he would have to make some effort. Soon the article about a Russian charity event taking place this weekend got replaced with a clenched fist going straight through the back of the paper. Yuri expected some kind of reaction but Yakov only sighed and leaned back in his seat without even a flinch.
"It's no surprise if I tell you. I promised Victor to keep it a secret."
"Tell me."
"No."
Yuri groaned and folded his arms with a sour glare. The display in the ceiling told the traveler's that it was 10 minutes until landing so he gave up his attempts and let his eyes rest for a while. At least he would find out tomorrow, he assumed. It was 2am and he would be staying at a hotel close to the airport since it was too late to make rest of the trip in one day.
Yuri was out with the speed of a lightning bolt the second the plane doors opened. He sped past everyone before him and he didn't stop when he finally got outside. His feet carried him to run circles around the plane meanwhile he was waiting for Yakov to get out the normal way. It's a silly habit of his and he knows he looks stupid doing it but his coach has given him strict orders to not run away at one random direction like used to do at first. It would take like half an hour for him to be found once he took off, but only if he got lost.
"Yuri! Get over here!"
Well, there's his cue to get ready and head to the hotel. Finally he's able to get some sleep before he's forced to wake up early at dawn to head to Hot Springs and meet the two most annoying people in Japan.
...
He didn't even have time to eat breakfast. He overslept and got rushed to the cab with an angry Yakov behind him, newspaper folded tightly in his fist. The trip through the beautiful Japan would've been pleasant if Yuri hadn't dozed off every 10 seconds. He didn't get much sleep after all. He spent at least three hours thinking about the special surprise and raiding the free mini bar before he finally got to rest. At 8am he was woken up with banging on the door and now, at 10am, he was standing at the entrance of Hot Springs waiting for Yuuri's mom to announce their arrival. She hurried away somewhere with her usual bubbly happy self that Yuri had no idea how a person could be so... not moody all day long.
The place was as crowded with customers as last time and the two Russians were told to step inside to the more private parts of the building where the family lived along with Victor at the moment.
"Victor! How come my brand new lotion is used? You smelled a suspicious amount of peaches and wild berries at breakfast and there's no point denying it!" A fairly soft and modulated voice was heard from somewhere to the left where the private shower stalls were located. A couple seconds later a giggly Victor and Yuuri came through the direction of the living room and greeted Yuri with happy cheers. The slender white haired Russian caught Yakov in a bear hug, much to the old man's surprise. Yuuri extended his hand towards Yuri but Yuri didn't give any effort in taking it.
"Food. I'm starving."
Yuuri dropped his hand with a light blush but Victor pouted and let go of his former coach. Strong and clingy arms were suddenly wrapped around his chest and he couldn't breathe.
"So unpolite... Yuriooo we've missed you! Haven't you missed us?"
Yuri thrashed like a fish caught in a net and tried to hit the arms of the bastard trapping him. Yuuri joined in, only to get a kick in the hip. His stomach growled angrily and the endless void in his body didn't lighten up the experience a bit.
"Let go you old man! You too piglet!"
"I hoped you'd say it out loud but I know that deep down you've been missing us, Yuriii." Victor went to whisper in his ear with pouty lips but was swatted away by a backhand in his face. That finally caused him to let go and Yuri jumped out of reach for the two males.
"Hm... Or not." The expression he got from Victor was sad and pouty and the man earned a hand on his shoulder, put there by Yuuri. Yuri could only sigh and shake his head.
"Victor! Did you steal my shampoo too?! I will- Oh? What now?" Yuri turned around abruptly by the unfamiliar yet familiar voice behind him. His eyes widened.
The girl was standing to the left of the hall, seemingly coming from the shower. A curious hand rested against the wall beside her and her face was covered in a grey clay face mask, a toothbrush lazily hanging from the corner of her lips. Her (h/c) eyes glistened with mild shock along with her mouth hanging slightly open.
"You are early... Victor, you told me they would arrive at 1pm1!" She pointed a strict finger at the tall man who scratched the back of his head with a hesitant laugh. Her eyes narrowed and she grabbed her toothbrush. Because even if she was standing unprepared in front of two strangers, she would at least not forget to brush her teeth in the process, as you do.
Yuri might've considered it normal if it wasn't for that she was almost naked. Two towels were the only fabric hiding her, one wrapped around her dripping figure and the other tied up in her hair.
"Yeah, about that! I kind of mixed up the time of their arrival and your meeting with the press, that's, by the way now when I think of it, not actually cancelled but later today. Silly of me to forget, right?"
She eyed him as though her bullshit meter was ticking in the red zone and let out a huff. Yuri had to advert his gaze when it suddenly felt intruding to eye her the way he did. He also turned away because a light tint of pink was creeping up his cheeks.
"Right. Thanks for the early update. I appreciate it, really. I'll be with you again in 30 minutes. Don't wait up for me." And with that, she was gone. The silence of the men maintained for a few moments until Yuuri coughed with an awkward smile, his red cheeks still visible even after the girl had disappeared. 'It's a little weird to blush at your almost naked sister' he thought.
"So food, right? Mom is preparing pork cutlet bowls for you, Yurio, since she remembered how much you liked them last time-" He didn't have to say it twice. Yuri was off to the dining area before the man even finished saying 'pork cutlet bowl'.

Fly Me to the Moon
Yuri Plisetsky
Celestial beings + royalty AU. You're the Night. He's the Moon. You're stuck together, whether you like it or not.
Notes: A longer post this time! I could have gone with a normal royalty AU but nooo, of course I didn't. I hope this turned out okay! Title is from a Frank Sinatra song of the same name.
---------------
The Day is the bringer of the Sun; It surrounds it, and it holds the Sun up, just as the Sun brings the Day with it wherever it goes. They move and work together.
The Night is the guardian of the Moon; it is the contrast which allows the Moon to shine brighter, stretching endlessly behind the Moon, the herald to its beauty and grace.
You are the Heir of the Night, training tirelessly to prepare to take on the mantle of the Moon's Guardian, and you are tired.
No, seriously. If you have to hear about the union of the Sun and the Moon one more time, you're going to scream. You mutter exactly that to yourself, under your breath, as you walk through the training facility to your studio. To your surprise, someone replies.
"I know, right? It's gross. If I ever fall in love, hit me."
Who in the world…?
You spin around, coming face-to-face with sea green eyes and golden hair. The same eyes hair you would one day be sworn to protect. Before you stood Yuri Plisetsky, the Heir of the Moon. He didn't know who you were, but you certainly recognised him. After all, you'd been watching his progress since you were selected to become the Heir of the Night. Your life's work would be dedicated to his being.
Only after a split-second did he seem to realise that he had talked to another being, and that he was decidedly not alone. He spun around, glaring.
"Who are you? The hell are you doing here?"
I'm the only one allowed around here, you thought amusedly. You're the trespasser. You wondered if you could tell him that. Heck, what was stopping you? It would be nice to see the look on his face.
"As a matter of fact, I'm the Heir of the Night. Also known as the person who'll be working with you closely for the entirety of your reign." You pause and shoot him a pointed look. "And the only person allowed in here, Mr. Trespassing Heir of the Moon."
Ah, the sweet satisfaction of watching someone's brain shut down. He sputters for a bit and turns ever-so-slightly pink, scrambling to come up with an excuse.
"If we're gonna work together, w- what's wrong with me being here anyway? I- It's not like I'm not some random civilian!"
He pauses, and an oddly aged look crosses his features.
"I just- I needed somewhere to get away for a minute, okay? I would very much like to be able to breathe without those two advertising their relationship. And I don't want to go for class," He sighs. "I'll just go now."
Something about the way he says it resonates with you. Maybe it's the resigned tone in his voice, or the weary look on his face. And you understand, you really do. After all, you've been preparing to take up an equally important -- and equally heavy role. Sometimes you wanted an escape, too.
"Do you… Want to stay? And watch for a bit?"
He pauses and turns to look at you. He's trying to act nonchalant, shrugging casually with a "Sure,", but you see the way his shoulders sag a little, as if the tension was released, and his features smoothen out just a fraction. You tell him to make himself comfortable along the sides somewhere and begin running through your combat drills.
As it turns out, Yuri is a pretty courteous audience. He doesn't ask too many questions, and only does when you stop for breaks. At the end of your training session, you sit together, backs to the wall, and bask in companionable silence, taking a breather from the stress that your roles bring you. Finally, you prepare to leave the studio, locking up and exchanging farewells.
"Hey, uh, thanks for letting me stay. I think I needed that. I'll, uh, see you around. I hope."
"Well, we'll meet again eventually. Moon and Night and all that. Feel free to come back anytime, though."
He heads off in the other direction, waving as he walks away.
You don't see him for a good month.
You don't know why. Did he get in trouble? Did he not want to return? Was he doing alright?
You'd just about given up seeing him until coronation day ever again, until one day you open the door to the studio to find it already unlocked. You open the door anyway, paying it no mind, and promptly walk face first into something. Someone.
Yuri.
He grumbles about getting crashed into, mumbling a "Watch where you're going, moron" under his breath quietly, but he steps aside to let you in anyway. How did he get in? No, nevermind that, Lilia was coming in today. He shouldn't be here.
"My advisor's coming today. You should get out before you get caught."
He stares at you like you've grown a second head.
"Moron, did no one tell you? I bargained with Yakov. You're gonna teach me to fight, and I'll, well, they'll find something for me to teach you. Anyway, I'm meant to be here, stupid."
You gape at him as Lilia strides past you two and into the studio, thoroughly unimpressed at your expression. She tells you to "close your mouth, you are an Heir, not a fish", and she "certainly did not teach you to dawdle in doorways". You put your stuff down, but you have no clue where to begin. Teach someone?
Lilia sighs. "The basics, girl, unless you want him to spend more time on his butt than his feet."
Right, you feel like an idiot now. Please let there be a hole to swallow you up. You gesture for Yuri to join you in the centre of the room, and slowly run him through warm-ups.
Over time, you fall into a routine. Some weeks, you teach Yuri to fight, and other weeks, he teaches you dance. Not just waltz, you know how to do that, but other forms of dance. Ballet. Tango. Flamenco. The macarena, because why not, although that was mostly a joke. You meet Yakov, his advisor, as well and the current Sun and Moon, Yuuri and Victor. Most importantly, you meet his cat, and his grandfather. Victor says it's wonderful that Yuri's friends with you. Yuri says he's too nosy.
As the time passes, you find yourself enjoying his company more and more. You realise that he's actually a kind person, even if he doesn't outwardly show it. And one day, you catch yourself thinking, he's really pretty.
When did you fall for him? You don't know. But as soon as you realise, you never stop realising. You're hyper-aware of everything he does. It frustrates you to no end. You're in the middle of a foxtrot with Yuri, and you can feel yourself flushing wildly. He frowns at you and stops.
"What's up with you? Why've you been so jumpy these days?" He presses a hand to your forehead. "Tch. You're not sick, are you?" You shake your head, but you can't quite meet his eyes.
Because the heat from your cheeks seems to have somehow fried your brain cells, you decide to throw all caution to the wind. You might also be too sleep-deprived to regret this.
"I- I LIKE YOU!" You blurt, before your common sense finally catches up to you and you clap a hand to your mouth. "Ah, sorry, you uh, heard nothing… Ahah…"
He gapes at you, and then he averts his eyes. Great, he totally thinks you're a weirdo. You've just messed up your relationship with the guy you're stuck working with for your entire career.
"I like you too, moron." It's so quiet you could swear you imagined it, but Yuri stands across from you, eyes on the ground, face as flushed as yours. It's your turn to gape at him, as he bites out a "What? Quit staring at me!", although you can tell there's no real heat to his words.
"I'm glad," you hum, smiling gently as you extend a hand to him, a silent invitation to resume dancing. You let the music wash over you, losing yourself in the steps, and every time your eyes meet, there's a soft smile on his face.
Epilogue
You take your place on the dais next to Yuri, preparing to face the court for your coronation. You'd been there for him before this, through demanding days and insecurities. You'd seen him at his worst, in the days just after Victor announced he was stepping down as the Moon, helping him to fight off his self-doubt. You'd been there for Yuri, and as the new Night and Moon, you'll continue being by his side. As his guardian, but also as his betrothed.
Over the next week, there are ceremonies and festivities, including your wedding, which takes place on the last day. It's a whirlwind of crowds, carnivals, and dancing. You and Yuri have your first dance, the same foxtrot you had been dancing when you got together all those years ago, the same soft smile ever-present on his face, as if it's just you two in the ballroom, like it was back then.
Then the music changes to something more bold, and you charge at each other in a mock-battle, your movements dynamic and explosive, yet graceful, a testament to your proficiency in both combat and dance.
As the night progresses, your friends and family join you on the dance floor, laughing and mingling. There's not much actual dancing happening, but that's perfectly fine, because you're surrounded by loved ones. Someone starts a line dance at some point, and you get everyone who joins to do the macarena, just for laughs. You see Lilia rolling her eyes, but you laugh and pull her into the crowd to join you.
And at the end of the night, you're in the comfort of your room, Yuri by your side. He pulls you in for a sweet, languid kiss. This is the love of your life, the man you'll wake up next to every day for the rest of your life.
After all, the Night is the guardian of the Moon; it is by its side, always. It is the Moon's refuge, its home. It loves the Moon dearly, and the Moon loves it back.

Day 2: Desperate during sex
Yuri On Ice | Victor x Yuri | Mixed Wires
“I’ll be right back.” Yuri inched his way out of the booth, leaving me with Christophe and JJ. We all happened to be back in Russia for a press event for skaters and decided to meet up for drinks at a local pub. The outside of the pub is crawling with reporters wanted to speak to Yuri after his second place spot at the tournament, and thats great and all, but its making it hard for us to be lovey dovey at all, I cant even hold his hand in fear of someone snapping a photo. I watch Yuri as he makes his way to the back of the bar, after only having half a beer, there is no way he is breaking the seal already, thats when it hits me,
“I gotta take a leak as well.” I slide out of the booth as well, leaving Christophe and JJ behind me, following Yuri into the dinghy pub bathroom.
“Viktor!” Yuri gasps in surprise as I open the stall door and come up behind him, grabbing him and turning him around.
“This is so unlike you Yuri.” I grab him in kissing him deeply, my leg going tight between his against the stall wall.
“Viktor i-” Yuri winces as I feel myself become erect, I know he can feel it to, His hands are grabbing down at himself, could be be trying to whip it out, right here, right now? Im astounded by the thought of getting to go this far with Yuri in a place like this,
“Let me help.” I leave Yuri’s lips for the first time senses entering the stall and crouch down, to bring his dripping member from his jeans.
“Viktor- I-need-” Yuri is out of breath, I take him and start stoking him, he is getting hard, I go back up and start kissing him while my hands keep moving, I thrust my leg between his harder, trying to get myself off on his warmth, his whole body tenses up, I feel his hand grab at my leg, His nails digging into me.
“Oh Yuri.” I moan, this is so unlike him
“Viktor! Im gonna-” He cries
“Its okay love,” I move my hand faster and faster, ready for this to fall into my arms,
“Viktor No- i’m-” I stop kissing Yuri and look at his face, ready to see all the pleasure, but I don’t see that, I see tears, he looks like he is in pain.
“Yuri?” I panic, Did I hurt him? was I bad at it this time? I stop moving my hands, Immediately, I feel wetness down the front of my leg, a spattering on the floor of the bathroom stall.
“Oh Yuri?” I look down,
“Im sorry.” Yuri falls and Cries into my arms, pee cascading out of him and down my lap. “I tried to say something bu-” He doesn't even move to the toilet, there is no use, his bladder is emptying full force onto both of us.
“Its okay love, it’s all my fault, I thought this is what you wanted.” I caress his head the the faint hissing comes to an end.
“I mean, I didn't not want this, but I really had to go.” He wipes the tears from his face.
“I know, Let’s get you home and cleaned up.” I grab my poor dripping wet lover and guide him out of the bathroom.
Those reporters outside are gonna have a field day with this, I think looking down at me and Yuri dripping wet pants.

Prompt #198 for @wewritevictuuri: Dying is a lot more painful than I thought it would be
Victor tracks down Yakov diligently through the facility with Yuri Plisetsky in tow, after completing a press conference commemorating his fifth consecutive win at the Grand Prix Final. He doesn’t realize he’s still on auto-pilot when he makes a few remarks about Yuri’s last junior program to which the young boy replies, “I already won so who cares?”
As Yakov hears the blatant attitude, he is already in lecture mode when Victor can feel a set of eyes on him.
Generally he lets this go, but something in him tells him to turn around and then he spots him. Japan’s Ace, Katsuki Yuuri. He doesn’t know much about Yuuri, and rarely spoke to him the entire time they were competing. Granted, Victor always showed up right before he was set to enter the ice, but it never deterred the other competitors from coming forward to him to wish him luck or to let him know he was going down (though Cao Bin was the only one who dared to challenge him this way).
Victor wouldn’t say that Yuuri seemed to blend into the background, because that wouldn’t be the truth. He had a mysterious presence about him, and he knew he was capable of pleasantries because he spoke enough with Chris. Watching his free skate from the waiting area on the flat screen, Victor noticed that his inconsistency drew the audience in and no matter how much he messed up he still finished through to the end, even if it landed him in last place.
He offers him a small smile, trying to break through his quiet shell by asking him for a commemorative photo, this was his first time at the Grand Prix Final after all. But what Victor doesn’t expect is a frown to meet him and a swift turn. He watches Katsuki Yuuri walking away from him. How utterly strange.
Another tailored suit, another flashy smile, another hand to shake, another mindless banquet. Victor is bored to tears but he knows it’s in his roster of obligations to be here tonight. Yakov is still lecturing Yuri P. about banquet etiquette and asks him not to scowl at potential connections when Victor’s gaze falls on Katsuki Yuuri again. His shoulders are slumped and his coach Celestino Cialdini is trying his best to get Yuuri to straighten up and at least eat a little.
Victor takes another sip of champagne, thinking to himself, “That’s a god awful tie, you couldn’t have dressed him better, Ciao Ciao?”
Another myriad of guests approach Victor again to congratulate him on his win, and then the dreaded question he’s been acting coy about with the press pops up. “What’s your next move?”
Victor answers with a wink and that same flashy smile that makes every inch of his muscles sore. “I’m hoping to continue to raise the bar, you know how I love to keep the audience on their toes.”
Laughter erupts and Victor is satisfied with placating the guests enough, grateful that they don’t catch him gracefully grabbing another flute of champagne and promptly washing it down, ebbing away at something he can’t place. When he feels like he’s just about spent at the banquet, someone abruptly says “HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY. BE SURE TO DRINK THE CHAMPAGNE, IT’S FANNNNN-TASTIC!”
Victor’s eyes scan the room and he sees him once again. His suit jacket is off, he’s untucked his button up shirt and he’s gracefully dancing to the cocktail hour music with no reservations. Chris appears behind him and can’t help but chuckle.
“Maybe this is Yuuri in his final form.” He murmurs.
The whole room watches intently as Yuuri asks for a different song. Someone obliges by putting on a hip hop track and suddenly he’s break dancing and it is a sight to see. Before long, a crowd of people are stepping away from the middle of the dance floor to make room for the man. Song after song, he keeps going, stopping only to stumble for another glass of champagne.
“Geez, what an idiot. JUST RETIRE ALREADY YOU IDI-” Yuri P. starts yelling.
“HEEEEEEY. DO YOU WANT TO BATTLE?” Yuuri yells over at the boy.
“HUH?!” Yuri P. exclaims as he rolls up his suit jacket.
“BATTLE ME ON THE DANCE FLOOR.” Yuuri laughs as he seemingly composes himself, he means business.
Yakov is about to intervene but it’s too late. Yuri P. is smack dab in the middle of the dance floor along with Yuuri. Another song rages on and they are dancing on their own volition, interpreting the rhythm of the song. Victor notes that Yuuri seems to be dancing as if the music was made to bounce off of his body.
“This is too good not to capture are you getting this?” Chris says from beside him.
Victor tentatively reaches for his own phone and snaps away, laughing in delight as Yuri P. struggles to keep up and Yuuri continues to unleash dance moves that he’s never seen before. After three songs, Yakov drags Yuri P. back by the collar of his shirt.
“Are you insane?! You have a reputation to uphold!” Yakov barks.
“How can I have a reputation when my dignity is on the line?!” Yuri P. angrily sneers.
Victor is scrolling through the photos of Yuri P.’s defeat when another hushed round of murmurs resounds. “Who the hell put up that pole?”
He turns and sees the exact object everyone is pondering about. Somehow in the corner of the banquet hall, a silver pole appears. Yuuri’s gazing at it intently as Celestino tries to persuade him to just call it a night already. He shakes his head and continues to insist on dancing. What happens next sends a shock down everyone’s spine, he strips off his shoes, pants, and button up shirt, keeping his tie loosely secured around his neck.
He grabs onto the pole and gracefully climbs up before swinging back down. The look on his face seems to ask, who’s next, and Chris answers the call. Any reason to subject the room to his mature eros was his specialty and honestly he was curious to see what the man was made of.
Victor watched in awe as the two did a routine together on the pole, one climbing on top of the other, balancing on each other, swinging and looping around like an act that was always meant to happen. Someone hands Yuuri a bottle of champagne and he pours it over Chris’ body, a fit of laughter explodes from them both and they nearly slip trying to get back down on the ground. Chris throws in the towel after a good 20 minutes, Celestino successfully gets Yuuri to put his clothes back on save for his jacket before someone starts playing a fast paced latin song.
His head perks up and he’s back in the floor again but he’s searching for something, for someone. Victor doesn’t have enough time to react before he feels Yuuri’s hands in his dragging him to the middle of the floor for a paso doble. He starts in a stance that screams come hither, Victor returns the gesture with a smirk and takes the bait. They dance in tandem with each other, ebbing and flowing in perfect sync. At some point Victor takes off his jacket to emulate a matador and Yuuri puts his hands up to signify horns and rushes for him. Victor is quick enough to jump away, landing with a thump on his formal shoes. The grins on their faces are indescribable, a new feeling bubbles up in the pit of Victor’s stomach, he feels lighter than usual, more unreserved, and he swears this is what having fun used to feel like.
The rhythm changes and as quickly as Victor has his jacket back on, Yuuri has him by the waist, twirling him around for a tango. Victor notes that despite how drunk he is, he’s moving with such precision it’s making his head spin.
They continue to dance the night away together when Yuuri’s honey brown eyes stare intently into Victor’s and he asks the Russian, “Are you ready?”
Victor flushed in the face from the dancing and from feeling so overwhelming light is confused at first, but then Yuuri dips him down low, a firm loop of his arm holding Victor upright. Victor laughs with delight as he places a hand firmly on Yuuri’s back. He looks up and sees Yuuri smiling down at him and for a brief moment he envies that joy. Not only envies it but he wants to bottle it up because it’s even more intoxicating than any of the champagne in the room. He asks him to keep dipping him again and again. He doesn’t want the dance to end.
Eventually, things settle down. Victor finds himself back with the others genuinely laughing in delight as they start to rattle on about what just happened. Chris is beside him wiping away at the last of the champagne while Yuri P. scowls in Yuuri’s direction. He’s heading right for them, against Celestino’s feeble attempts to rangle him in. Yuuri clasps onto Victor, his hips gyrating in a circular motion, Victor is stunned and doesn’t say a word.
He can briefly make out a few words that Yuuri is slurring out, something about yet another dance battle, an inn that his parents own in Japan, he wants to win this battle because he wants something from Victor.
“Be my coach, Victor!” Yuuri exclaims before he throws his arms around Victor, weighing him slightly down.
Victor’s heart skips a beat. A coach? He wanted him as a coach? Victor stays still and stunned as Celestino brandishes more apologies, finally dragging the man away from the banquet hall for the evening. Victor wonders how many times is he gonna have to watch him leave when he wants him to stay.
The next day, Victor is adamant about meeting with Yuuri again to thank him for a wonderful evening and to slip him his number so they can discuss his proposition. He’s filled with warmth and delight, as he bounces around his hotel room giddy with the aspect of being reunited. But that all comes crashing down, with 8 words.
“They left in the middle of the night,” Chris muses the next day as the duo wait for coffee.
Without another word and like the wind Katsuki Yuuri is gone. Victor’s head is pounding and he’s sure it’s not from having his fill of champagne. He hadn’t given him a number, a note, anything at all to let Yuuri know how thankful he was for a night he was sure he would be dreaming about forever.
“Hey, are you alright?” Chris asks, handing him his latte.
Victor looks at the steam pouring out the cup. He swears the pattern of the way it flows and moves take form of him and Yuuri. Even thinking of him now stabs lightly in his gut, the heaviness starts to consume him again. He doesn’t realize how blank his stare is, until Chris watches something flicker in him and he reverts back to the overly chipper attitude while saying a rather distressing line, “Dying is a lot more painful than I thought it would be.”
“Huh? What are you going on about?” Chris replies.
Something that Victor would never let on or face was how he processed through emotions. This one in particular strangled him harder than the ball and chain he felt loosely clinking around his neck. No more fun, no more joy, no more glimmering eyes and surprises.
Back to obligation, back to mindless, back to perfection, back to numb. Back to boredom.
“Nothing, I think I had too much to drink last night.” Victor says playing it off.
At least he’d always have the photos as proof of when he felt like himself again.

“He’s so pretty I think I’m gonna faint.” Yuuri x Victor
Sitting up and reaching for his glasses, Yuuri let out a frustrated sigh. He’s been in bed for hours with little luck falling asleep. He was no stranger to sleepless nights. There had been countless times he’d been kept up by anxieties or nerves, mind spinning until the sun rose over the horizon. With everything that had been going on lately, it was a miracle he got any sleep at all. Luckily brutal conditioning and long practices had worn his body down to exhaustion; he’d been asleep as soon as he hit the bed most nights.
Glasses slid into place, Yuuri felt around for his phone until his fingers connected with the cool plastic surface of his case. He brought it up close to his face before clicking the home button to determine the time. Blinding light emitted from the screen, but he was able to make out 3:26 am before squeezing his eyes shut and pointing it down towards the floor. He ran a hand through his hair, shoving his bangs back. He flopped back down into bed, landing with a soft thump. It was so late, or early now that it was technically the next morning, and he had to get up for practice in just a few hours. Letting out a long breath, he pushed himself to his feet. Clearly, just lying in bed wasn’t getting him anywhere. He shuffled out of the room, careful to make as little noise as possible while sliding the door shut. Gently walking down the hall, he passed Victor’s room and made it to the stairs. The last thing he would want to do was wake Victor in the middle of the night while he’d been working so hard to coach him.
Yuuri flipped a light on once in the kitchen, wincing as his eyes adjusted. He began going through the familiar motions of making a cup of tea. After filling the kettle with water, he set it on the stovetop. Turning the knob until the fire came to life, he watched as the flames danced below the kettle. He sorted through the teas until finding the chamomile blend. It was caffeine-free and calming, so therefore perfect for a 3:00 am cup of tea. The water soon began to rumble and steam, so he turned off the heat and scooped up some of the dried chamomile flowers. Dumping them into the pot, he watched as they fell in and slowly started to stain the water a pale yellow color. Pulling his attention away from the tea, he hunted for a mug and strainer. Once found, he leaned on the counter, forearms propping his body up, and watched as the tea turned from a light color to a rich and deep gold.
There was something about the middle of the night that Yuuri loved. Everything seemed to calm and still. There was no chaos or worry, only quiet and peace. He found it much easier to relax, yet at the same time, there was nothing to distract him from his own thoughts. It was also easy to spiral out of control, spending hours obsessing over something trivial, just for morning to arrive and to realize that it never really mattered to begin with.
Shaking the thoughts away, Yuuri peered into the kettle. Deciding that the tea had brewed for long enough, he carefully poured the hot liquid through the strainer and into his cup. Gingerly taking the hot mug into his hands, Yuuri wrapped his fingers around the mug. Settling down on a cushion and placing his mug on the table, his eyes were drawn to the steam drifting away from the tea before disappearing into nothingness. It was beautiful, yet fleeting and untouchable. If not for the lack of sleep he may have found it in himself to compare it to Victor, so close but just out of reach. Instead, he simply brought the mug to his lips. A quick sip warmed his throat, the comforting flavor helping to put his mind at ease.
Tapping his phone screen, it illuminated with the time again. This time, the light was manageable, tempered by the overhead lights of the kitchen. The minutes ticked by, his alarm getting closer and closer as each one passed. On a whim, he opened up his phone and scrolled through his contacts. He landed on a very familiar name, Phichit Chulanont. It hadn’t been too long since he had last seen Phichit, yet he missed the constant warmth and optimism by his side. Tapping the call button, he brought the phone up to his ear.
Moving to Detroit was one of the scariest and most exciting things Yuuri had ever done in his life. He was leaving the comfort of his home, family, and even his own country. But, it was to further his competitive career. Celestino had been invaluable in advancing his skills, so of course the experience was worth it. However, Phichit had been the one to make it enjoyable. He had bonded with Yuuri right away over their passion for skating. His compassionate and easy-going nature was a perfect counterpart to the stressed and anxious side of Yuuri. They could talk about anything and everything, and he was always there to listen.
“Hello?” Phichit’s voice crackled through the speaker.
“Hi, it’s me. Are you at practice?” Yuuri answered, one hand wrapped around his phone, the other around his mug.
“Yep, but I’m on a break,” Phichit’s peppy voice was a welcome sound. “Isn’t it really late there? What’s up?” Concern crept into his voice. He knew that Yuuri had trouble sleeping occasionally, being roommates and all, but he still worried for his friend.
“Yeah, it’s like 3:30.” The 13 hour time difference between Detroit and Hasetsu meant that it was mid afternoon for Phichit. That big of a difference usually made communicating a bit tough, but texting always worked well enough since they could just answer whenever they were awake. “I just- I don’t know Phichit.” Letting out a long breath, Yuuri slumped against the table, leaning his upper body against its surface with a hand propping up his head.
After Socchi, his life had basically turned upside down. He went from one of the lowest lows to his life and skating career, to soaking in the onsen and being coached by his idol, Victor Nikiforov. He was so thankful. Victor was producing results; Yuuri won the Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu Championship by a relatively wide margin. His short program, while very different from his usual style, was commanding attention and was rewarded with a high score. And of course, it was a dream come true to spend so much time with Victor, yet he was more stressed than ever. The stakes were raised impossibly high. With the Cup of China coming up soon, he had to perform spectacularly. Now, if he failed, Yuuri wouldn’t just be disappointing himself, he’d be disappointing Victor’s fans, Yuri, basically the entire figure skating community, and worst of all, Victor himself.
“Everything is changing, for the better, but I’m overwhelmed,” Yuuri admitted. Overwhelming: that summarized the experience pretty well. Victor had come crashing into Yuuri’s life like a beautiful, chaotic storm. “It’s just a lot to take in.”
Phichit hummed in response, affirming what Yuuri said. “I’m sure it is. You live with the Victor Nikiforov,” he replied. “Eighteen year-old Yuuri would have had a heart attack and died,” he finished, a warm chuckle following his words.
“I’m not sure twenty-three year-old Yuuri is faring much better.” Whether it was just a European tendency, his personality, or something else, Victor was always far too close for comfort. It wasn’t that Yuuri didn’t like it, but he constantly felt like his heart was going to burst. It was always something: a firm touch correcting his posture, leaning in a little close, or asking to sleep together. He was starting to think that personal space was not in Victor’s vocabulary.
“How is it? Living out your dream?” Phichit questioned. Yuuri pondered the question for a moment. He’d barely even had time to process that he was, in fact, living his childhood dream. It was everything he’d imagined, but it was reality too. Sure, he was being coached by his idol, but that didn’t magically solve all his problems. It fixed some of them and also created some more. He logically knew that people would have higher expectations for him now and that he’d be harder on himself. The problem he didn’t anticipate as a kid was the adult reality of living with someone you loved for basically your whole life. The crush he’d developed on Victor through years of idolizing was becoming an issue.
“Yes and no,” Yuuri replied, knowing that it wasn’t really much of an answer. “It’s just… Sometimes, he’s so pretty I think I’m going to faint,” Yuuri mumbled. His cheeks burned and he knew his face would be flushing to a deep crimson. While he’d admitted to himself long ago that he had a crush on Victor, and it went further than just admiring his skating, the embarrassment of saying it out loud still hit him hard. He’d gushed to Phichit about how cool Victor was countless times, but now that he knew Victor personally, and he wasn’t just some celebrity image, it felt all the more real. He found himself wanting to reach out and close the space between them more often than he’d like to admit.
“Yuuri, You’re in love! That’s so cute!” Phichit’s voice was suddenly much louder, excitement evident in his tone.
“I- I don’t know about that,” Yuuri sputtered back. He wouldn’t deny that there were definitely feelings there. He just wasn’t quite sure that they could be called love. Not yet anyway. His attachment to Victor was growing each day. Being the first person Yuuri saw every morning and usually the last one he saw at night was starting to wreak havoc on any and all rational thoughts. Yuuri knew that Victor was his coach, and getting involved could get really messy, but when Victor pulls him into a hug, he never wants to pull away. But, it didn’t matter in the long-run anyway. Victor was the top figure skater in the world, anyone would be thrilled to date him and there’s no way he’d ever look at someone like Yuuri in a romantic light. It was a miracle that he had even seen Yuuri’s video and decided he was worthy of Victor’s coaching.
“Just be sure to invite me to the wedding,” Phichit laughed, the sound bright and clear.
“It’ll never happen, Phichit. You know me. I’ll just enjoy every second I have now, while he’s looking at me, probably have a couple panic attacks along the way, and cry when Victor inevitably goes back to St. Petersburg. I’m just trying not to get my hopes up too high.” While Yuuri knew he’d probably get hurt in the future, he figured he could at least indulge himself for now. As embarrassing as it was, he allowed himself to enjoy Victor’s closeness. He’d take an extra glance when Victor walked out of the onsen in only a towel, or even the simple things like enjoying a meal together.
“Come on Yuuri, you have to go after him! You just don’t give yourself enough credit. Anybody would be lucky to have you!” This was why Yuuri always loved talking to Phichit. He was always there to make Yuuri feel better about himself and shower him with encouragement.
“I’ll think about it.” A small smile tugged at the corners of Yuuri’s lips. “I should probably go, I need to sleep.” He didn’t even want to think about how exhausting practice was going to be tomorrow on this little sleep.
“Definitely! Call me again soon, okay?” Phichit replied.
“Of course,” Yuuri hung up his phone and laid it on the table next to his now mostly empty mug. He did feel a bit better now, having talked with Phichit.
Leaning back, he laid back on the ground, legs stretched out under the table, gathering his resolve to get up and head back up to bed, hoping to get some sleep. Then, his eyes settled on a figure stepping into the kitchen. “Victor!” Yuuri all but squeaked, bolting upright and smacking his knees on the table in the process. He winced at the pain, but scrambled to his feet, turning to face Victor. Hoping the panic wasn’t showing on his face, he offered a small smile. “Why are you up?’ He questioned, desperately hoping Victor hadn’t heard anything from his conversation with Phichit. He might actually die if that happened.
“Water,” He replied simply. “But, I could ask you the same question.” Victor retrieved a glass and filled it up with water before turning back to Yuuri.
“Um, I couldn’t sleep, so I thought tea might help.” Not mentioning the phone call seemed like the safest option. Hopefully he could escape back to his room before Victor asked any more questions.
“Who was on the phone?” Victor asked with his usual bright smile and energetic tone. A new wave of panic rushed through him and Yuuri felt his heart sink. This was it. He was going to have to retire from figure skating and never show his face again. He couldn’t even hope that Victor would misunderstand the call. Yuuri had even mentioned Victor by name.
“How much did you hear?” Yuuri said, voice quiet and eyes downcast. He was clinging onto the hope that all Victor had heard was their good-byes like it was a lifeline.
“Just something about not getting your hopes up. Worried about getting to the Grand Prix?” Victor took a sip of his water, looking at Yuuri with innocent eyes. Relieved, Yuuri started heading toward the stairs, trying to ease his way out of the conversation.
“Something like that,” He agreed, too tired to come up with anything else. That made sense and Victor would understand. Victor followed him to the stairs, heading back to his own room as well.
“Well, don’t worry. You can do it, no problem. You have the best coach out there,” Victor replied, another smile spreading across his features. Despite the tension of the situation, Yuuri felt his nerves settle with the reassurance from Victor, even if it wasn’t relevant at the moment.
“Thanks. I, uh, should probably get some sleep,” Yuuri said as they reached the door to Victor’s room.
“Yep! I’ll see you in the morning,” Victor replied, opening his door. “Oh, and Yuuri, if you ever feel faint, I’ll catch you.“ He finished with a wink. At that, Victor slid his door shut, leaving Yuuri standing in the hallway, staring at the door. Something in his brain short circuited at the comment. Victor had heard everything. All of it. He was completely unable to process what Victor just said to him, and didn’t think he’d be able to even if he were well-rested. Blush flaming on his cheeks and heart pounding, Yuuri stumbled back to his room in a daze. Convinced he was delirious and had been hearing things, he rejected the possibility of Victor taking any interest in him. It was crazy. Maybe it had been a dream instead. It was easier to believe that he’d finally lost it. Shaking his head, he fell onto his bed, letting his phone slide to the floor.
The night ahead was sleepless, but far too short. Yuuri was still processing when the sun rose. Doing his best to shake it off, he prepared for practice with Victor. He knew it was going to be a very long day.

Yuri!!! on ICE Omegaverse Series Pt. 2
Here’s the second installment of the YOI Omegaverse series that I have in the works. It’s a continuation of the other post. If there’s enough attention and enough people like this, I’ll see what I can do about continuing. However, for now, it will stay on tumblr with only these two installments. So, if you really like it, like and reblog the shit out of these posts!
****************
The three alphas stalk into their bedroom, door slamming behind them, as they go to sate the heats of their omegas.
“Who’s going to take who first?” Otabek asks.
“Let’s let them decide,” JJ suggests, not taking his eyes from the presenting omegas in front of them.
“Good idea. Yuuri, Yuri, who do you want to take you first?” Victor asks, walking closer to their nest.
They both stop presenting, much to the alpha’s disdain, and turn to look at their alphas hungrily. Looking at each other, they move to the edge of their nest and make grabby hands.
“Clothes!” They exclaim.
Chuckling, the alphas remove their clothing and hand them to the omegas. Then, they watch as their clothes are added to the nest, mostly to the head of the bed. But the omegas hold onto the briefs and bring them to their faces, inhaling deep. Their hips begin humping the air and they moan loudly at the scent of their alphas. In desperation, they turn to each other to get friction, grinding furiously against each other.
“Damn!” JJ murmurs, biting his finger as he watches the show. “I love it when they get like this.”
“Me too.”
“Little Omegas, you still haven’t told us who you want to take you first,” Victor calls to them.
Ignoring the alpha, Yuuri and Yuri keep going at it.
“Ah! So good!” Yuuri moans, his head flying back and his face flushed,
“Mmm! Gonna-gonna c-um!” Yuri exclaim, leaning his forehead on Yuuri’s shoulder.
As their hips move, slick pours out of their back ends, making the nest smell even more amazing.
“Omegas!” Yuuri and Yuri freeze as all three alphas command their attention. “Answer us or you’ll be punished.”
Moaning at the tone being used on them, they go back to presenting as their omegas haven taken over completely (not that the boys minded). “Take us!” They exclaim.
The alphas growl again and look at each other.
“How do you want to do this?” Victor asks. “They’re too far gone to answer us.”
“I have an idea. Since they need a knot from each of us, then what we’ll do is take a turn in each of them. Two of us will take their asses while the one left out will be serviced by their mouths,” JJ suggests.
“That’s a good idea. Turns me on like no other. But there’s one problem: we still don’t know who’s going first.”
“Let’s see which pair of boxers they take. We’ll decide from that.”
Moving into the nest, the alphas pick up their discarded boxers and hang them in front of their omega’s heads. The omegas’ heads snap up as the scents tease them. Yuuri reaches out and grasps Otabek’s boxers while Yuri grabs JJ’s. They both then reach for Victor’s and growl at each other slightly.
Smirking, Victor crawls in front of them. “Now, now; there’s no need to fight over me. You both can have me.”
Licking their lips, both omegas move towards Victor’s hard cock. They bury their noses into his pubic hair and inhale. Then, they begin to nose up and down the silver-haired alpha’s cock. Opening their mouths, they begin licking and sucking along it.
“Yes!” Victor moans, throwing his head back.
Meanwhile, Otabek and JJ look at the open and twitching holes in front of them. Glancing at each other, they grin and swoop down to eat out their lovers’ asses. The omegas’ tongues and mouths pause momentarily as moans bubble out of their throats.
“Suck, Omegas!” Victor commands harshly, putting a little bit of his alpha tone in his voice.
Quickly, the omegas go back to sucking on Victor’s cock while JJ and Otabek feast on their asses.
Mate!
Breed!
Claim Mate!
Knot them!
Our Omegas!
My Omegas!
Mate!
Knot them!
JJ, Otabek, and Victor’s inner alphas were going wild and shouting at them to claim, breed, and knot their omegas; to get them pregnant.
Pulling away from Yuuri’s ass, Otabek leans over him and begins placing kisses up and down his neck and shoulder while sliding one finger into the slick hole. “Suck his cock good, Omega,” he rumbles in Yuuri’s ear, sliding a second finger in.
“A-Alpha!” Yuuri moans, bucking his hips. His lips move to the tip of Victor’s cock while Yuri’s move to Victor’s balls. Opening his mouth and relaxing his throat, Yuuri takes Victor all the way in, nose resting in his pubic hair.
“Yes!” Victor hisses, pulling out and thrusting back in.
JJ, too, pulls away from Yuri’s ass and also leans over him. “Offer up your slutty mouth too, Omega,” he whispers, “that way your Alpha can take both of your mouths.” Thrusting two fingers in, he scissors and stretches Yuri’s ass.
“Ahh!” Opening his mouth wide, he offers it to the silver-haired alpha for the taking.
“I have two mouth pussies to choose from?” He asks. “I believe I’ll take both!” Sliding out of Yuuri’s mouth, he thrusts in deep into Yuri’s mouth. He begins alternating between the two, loving how their mouths feel completely different around his cock.
“You’re ready now,” Otabek rumbles, lining up his cock. Thrusting in deeply, he groans loudly and throws his head back in pleasure.
Yuuri moans loudly around Victor’s cock as tears start to leak out of his eyes at the overwhelming pleasure coursing through him. When Victor pulls out to go to Yuri’s mouth, Yuuri exclaims, “ALPHA!”
Three fingers are squirming around in Yuri’s ass, leaving him writhing in pleasure. The fingers are quickly removed and a long, thick cock is shoved in. As he goes to moan, Victor shoves his cock in his mouth and down his throat, choking him.
Both JJ and Otabek are thrusting in and out of their omegas’ asses roughly, growling as they watch the mouths of their omega’s being used and abused over and over again.
“G-gonna cum!” Victor groans.
The walls around their cocks tighten, signaling the release of the two omegas. As the walls get tighter, the closer the alphas come to knotting them. Their knots begin to grow, dragging along the inner walls of the omegas.
Victor stops thrusting into their mouths and starts stroking himself frantically. “Open your mouths, Omegas, while I release all over your faces!”
“No! In Yuuri’s mouth!” Yuri groans, throwing his head back.
“If you insist.” Thrusting back into Yuuri’s mouth, he goes hard and fast, choking the Japanese omega. He cums deep in Yuuri’s mouth and pulls out, however, Yuuri doesn’t swallow. He holds the cum in his mouth and turns towards the other omega. Their lips attach and Yuuri’s mouth opens as Yuri starts scooping some of the cum out for himself. Their tongues tangle, letting cum overflow and drip down their chins.
JJ and Otabek growl as they watch and their knots completely inflate and catch on the omegas’ inner walls as they pump tons of cum into their omegas. As the knots rub against their sensitive prostates, they moan into each other’s mouths and cum. Gulping down the cum in their mouths, they collapse to the bed in exhaustion. It doesn’t take long for them to pass out their alphas soon afterward.
**********
Groaning, JJ is awoken by movements on his lap and groans as he opens his eyes and looks down. What he sees, though, makes up for the rude awakening. Yuuri is grinding wantonly on his cock, spreading his slick up and down it. He has two fingers in his mouth and is bracing himself with the other. Once his fingers are sufficiently slicked up, he reaches under and inserts his fingers in himself. Moaning softly, his eyes close and his head flies back as he continues to pleasure himself. Taking his fingers out, he rises up and positions JJ at his entrance before slowly sinking down. Yuuri groans at the stretch and JJ groans as he is sheathed in the omega’s warmth. Using his powerful thigh muscles, Yuuri rises up and down, getting gradually faster as he gets the hang of it. The alpha reaches his hands down and grasps the omega’s hips, holding on with a bruising grip. Angling his hips, JJ slams up into Yuuri as he is coming down, hitting his prostate and making the omega throw his head back and yowl out with pleasure.
Meanwhile, Yuri gets awoken by something filling him up and shocks going up his spine. Moaning, he finds Victor buried balls deep in him as his thrusts get very rough and fast. Yuri’s mouth opens to moan and he finds Otabek’s cock thrust down his throat. Moaning and salivating around Otabek’s cock, he feels incredibly full with an alpha in his ass and an alpha in his throat.
As Yuuri gets closer and closer to his orgasm, he gets sloppier and sloppier, and his movements become less satisfactory to the alpha, so JJ takes matters into his own hands and flips over so Yuuri is on his back. Once situated, JJ begins pounding Yuuri into the mattress.
“A-Alpha!” Yuuri moans loudly. “ALPHA!” When the alpha starts hitting his prostate with every thrust, the omega quickly comes undone. His walls pulse around the cock of the alpha.
“Ah! OMEGA!” JJ roars as his knot catches inside the omega.
As Victor is thrusting in and out of the blond omega, he watches JJ and Yuuri go at it as well, and as his lovers cum, he does as well. His knot swells and presses against the prostate of the younger omega, causing him to cum. As Yuri moans around Otabek’s cock, the alpha releases into the omega’s mouth.
Just like the previous time, instead of swallowing, the omegas share a messy kiss and the alpha’s cum between each other. Once the omegas swallow, they collapse to the bed, twitching in the aftershocks of their orgasm.
“I have to say that their cum kiss is probably the hottest thing ever!” Victor murmurs as he slumps over the blond omega.
JJ nods, also slumping on the older omega. “It is, but I think it’s their way of spending time with each other during their heats since the only way their heats can be truly sated is if they receive a knot. Obviously, they can’t knot each other, so this is how they spend time together.”
“That’s really smart,” Otabek murmurs, moving to lay in between the two omegas.
JJ blushes. “Thanks, Beka.”
“I think that once we’ve all recovered from this heat, us alphas are going to have some special bonding time. How does that sound?” Victor asks, looking between the two of them.
“I like that idea,” JJ murmurs shyly.
“Good.”
Their knots slowly let up and slip out of their omegas, making them whimper in their sleep. All three alphas begin crooning to lull their omegas back to sleep so the alphas have a chance to rest before they continue. The omegas beginning purring, and this soothing sound lulls the alphas to sleep.
**********
“Yuuri, wake up,” Victor rumbles into the Japanese omega’s ear. “Do you want my knot?”
Whimpering, Yuuri opens his eyes and blindly searches for the silver-haired alpha. “Alpha!” He cries, tears pooling in his eyes. “Knot me!”
“Shh!” Victor soothes, smoothing the dark hair away from the omega’s face. “Do you want JJ to join us?”
Yuuri nods. “Alphas!”
“Okay, okay. He’s coming.”
JJ slowly moves over to Yuuri and pulls him into a hug and pressing his lips to the omega’s. He swallows the moans of the omega as Victor slowly fills him up. Their tongues dance as the other alpha slowly thrusts into Yuuri. Kisses are trailed up and down his neck, and nips are oftentimes laid on his scent gland.
As Victor hits Yuuri’s prostate, Yuuri breaks the kiss to throw his head back. “P-please!” He begs in a whimper. “Please knot me.”
Victor snaps, hearing the desperate plea coming from his omega. Snapping his hips in quickly, he picks up a brutal pace.
“A-Alpha!”
Yuuri’s loud moans awaken the blond omega as he sleeps cuddled into Otabek. He whimpers as the familiar feeling of heat hits him as his eyes flutter open.
“Shh,” Otabek coos, pressing a kiss to his forehead and rolling on top of him. “I’ve got you.” Spreading Yuri’s legs, he slowly sinks into the heat of his omega and groans. “God you feel so good, baby!”
“Knot me! Need Alpha’s knot!”
“And you’ll get it, calm down,” Otabek rumbles. His pace goes from slow to fast with each thrust; this has the omega writhing and whimpering in pleasure. “Yes! Do you feel me, Omega?”
“Y-yes, Alpha!”
Leaning down to connect their lips, Otabek adjusts his hips to hit Yuri’s prostate.
“Mmm!” Yuri’s cries are swallowed by his alpha.
JJ licks his lips as he turns to watch Otabek and Yuri kiss, and this reminds him of something. Pulling away from Yuuri, he makes him lean down till Yuuri’s face is right in front of JJ’s cock. “Wanna suck my cock with that pretty mouth of yours, Yuuri? That way you can share my cum with Yuri.”
Yuuri’s mouth opens wide, quickly engulfing JJ’s cock in his mouth and throat. Slurping and sucking, Yuuri uses his tongue to trace the veins on the underside of his alpha’s cock. JJ’s head flies back in pleasure and his fingers thread into the omega’s hair.
Now even more turned on, Victor and Otabek’s paces go even faster and rougher. The omegas’ thighs are quivering and their orgasms are ripped from them, their walls clamping down on their alphas’ cocks. Yuuri moans loudly around JJ’s cock, and this has him almost cumming. Victor is the first to lose, moaning as his knot drags and catches on Yuuri’s sensitive walls, the cum flooding the omega’s channel. Otabek follows, his head flying back from the kiss and his knot expanding, flooding Yuri with ribbons of cum. And lastly, there’s JJ; he snarls out a moan and cums deep into Yuuri’s mouth. Pulling out, the alphas watch as Yuuri reaches over and tiredly pulls the blond to him. Their mouths connect and the cum is shared in yet another messy kiss. After swallowing, the two omegas collapse to the bed, exhausted and finally completely sated. Their eyes droop closed once more and soon they are fast asleep.
“Let’s clean them up and then we can sleep,” Otabek murmurs.
JJ shakes his head. “No way,” he mumbles. “I’m going to sleep; we can take care of this in the morning. Plus, the omegas will want to clean their nest.”
“That’s true,” Victor yawns, turning Yuuri to his side and spooning him from behind. “Let’s just sleep.”
Otabek nods and turns Yuri so he’s facing the others and spoons him. “Okay.” A big yawn escapes his lips as his head hits the pillow.
JJ lays down in the middle with an omega on either side. “Goodnight, guys.”
“Goodnight.”
The alphas are asleep in seconds, cuddled into their omegas.
**********
Giggles rouse the alphas from their slumber and they find the omegas absent from the nest.
“Where are they?”
Otabek sits up and points to the bathroom. “In there.”
They look at each other before scrambling to the bathroom door to peek inside. What they see warms their hearts. Both omegas are sitting in the bath, grooming each other and playing with bubbles.
“You have bubbles on your nose,” Yuuri giggles, looking at his lover.
“So do you!” Yuri giggles right back. Then he pauses, going completely serious and looks down. “Do you think it worked?”
“I don’t know, Yuri; we’ll find out in a week or so,” Yuuri replies, also going serious.
Yuri rises, allowing the bubbles to slide down his body and subsequently giving the alphas a nice view. His hands find his belly and caress it. “I can’t wait to be pregnant,” he whispers, too softly for the alphas to hear. “How do you think I would look with a big, round belly?” This question is said loud enough where the alphas could hear him.
Yuuri also rises. “I think you would look so hot,” he answers, putting a hand on Yuri’s belly. “How do you think I would look?”
Yuri’s cheeks turn pink. “I think you would look hot too,” he answers, putting a hand on Yuuri’s belly.
They both are now a shade of pink and they giggle at each other. “We’re such saps,” Yuuri laughs, sitting back down.
Yuri follows him. “That we are, but I think Victor, JJ, and Otabek would be even bigger saps.”
The alphas feel slightly insulted. Us? Saps?
“Let’s hurry with this bath; before we know it they’ll be awake and demanding our attention again. I just want to spend this time with you for now,” Yuri says, urging the other omega to finish his bath.
Grins split the alphas’ faces. Their omegas were bonding even closer now. Not wanting to disturb them, the alphas creep back to the nest and lay down, pretending to be asleep. Thankfully, it works when, a couple of minutes later, the omegas come tiptoeing into the room and to the closet. They quickly dress and creep out of the room and shut the door behind them.
Once they’re assured the omegas are far enough away, the alphas sit up and look at each other.
“They want our pups,” Victor breathes.
“They’re bonding!” JJ beams.
“They’re adorable!” Otabek is in awe of how beautiful the two omegas are.
“I can’t wait to have pups,” all of them sigh together.
“Let’s wait a little bit longer until we go out, so that way we can actually make it look convincing that we were asleep,” JJ suggests.
“Good idea.”
While the alphas fake their slumber in the bedroom, the freshly bathed omegas twirl around the kitchen.
“I really hope I’m pregnant,” Yuri sighs, his hand coming to rest on his abdomen again.
“Me too, Yuri; me too.”
Suddenly, Yuri gasps and freezes, his eyes wide. “Oh my gosh!”
Yuuri immediately stops twirling and looks at the younger omega worriedly. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
“Our punishment!” Yuri breathes excitedly.
Yuuri bursts out laughing, so hard that he’s doubled over. He doesn’t stop even when the three alphas wander into the room, looking at him in surprise.
“What’s going, Yura?” Otabek asks, watching the laughing omega in confusion.
Yuri is bright red and avoiding the alphas’ stares. “Nothing.”
“I have a feeling that our Yurio said something funny.” Victor chuckles as he watches the omegas.
“Pig, shut up!” Yuri hisses so that only the Japanese omega can hear.
“S-sorry! It was just the way you said it!” Yuuri’s laughter quiets down and he finally stands up and wipes away some tears.
“Shut up!”
“Oh man, that was great. I’m all for it if you feel like reminding them.”
“Shut up!” Yuri screeches, pouncing on the older omega.
Yuuri begins laughing again as he tries, and fails, to fend off the incoming attack. “H-hey!”
Meanwhile, Victor, JJ, and Otabek are watching the exchange in confusion. “What is going on?”
“Hell if I know,” JJ replies, grinning. “But I’m enjoying watching this.”
Otabek sighs and walks over to the blond, picking him up off of Yuuri and hauling him to his chest. “Yura.” He uses a warning tone that has him calming down almost instantly. “Now, does someone want to tell us what’s going on?”
Yuri begins grumbling and giving the other omega a look promising death if a word is breathed.
When nothing is said, Otabek places Yuri on the couch and comes back to pick up the other, placing them side by side. “Don’t make me use my alpha tone.”
The omegas look at each other, and Yuuri grins. “You were so excited just now, what happened?”
Yuri rolls his eyes and moves so he’s kneeling over Yuuri’s lap. “Does this ring any bells?” He asks, putting his forehead on the older omega’s shoulder.
Suddenly, the alphas remember the abruptly ended Skype call that left them wanting more.
“Yes, but what…?” Victor trails off.
“Ah!” JJ instantly knows what’s going on. “I know.”
“What?!” Otabek and Victor exclaim when JJ doesn’t elaborate.
The Canadian alpha scoffs. “I’m not reminding you if you can’t remember.”
“Yura, are you going to tell us?” Victor asks.
Yuuri pats the other omega’s back as he begins groaning in embarrassment. “It’s okay, Yuri; you can tell them, I don’t mind.”
“It’s embarrassing!” He whines.
Yuuri lets out comforting pheromones as he begins running his hands through the blond hair. “It’s okay,” he coos.
Soon, both omegas are once again completely engrossed in grooming each other and ignoring their alphas.
Victor and Otabek immediately turn on JJ, dragging him out of the room. The pin him against the wall in the bedroom roughly.
“Okay, JJ, you’d better tell us what’s on your mind or else we’re going to punish you!” Otabek rumbles.
JJ grins. “Hmm, you’re almost right on the dot.”
Victor frowns. “JJ,” he warns.
“Just think,” JJ says. “What did we catch them doing? And what does Yurio generally get excited like that for the most?”
The other two alphas almost immediately realize what he means. “Ah; Yura wants a punishment.”
“And Yuuri’s okay with it too.”
“That’s why they acted the way they did on the Skype call.”
“And that’s why he got so embarrassed when it came to telling us.”
“Ah. Makes sense.”
“What to do?”
“Give him what he wants,” JJ says, wriggling his way out of the alphas’ grip and walking over to the closet. “Go get them and bring them in here.”
“The nest is still dirty from their heat; let’s do it out in the living room,” Otabek replies.
“Fine.” JJ grabs a box from the closet and follows the other two alphas to the living room where the omegas are still grooming each other.
“All right, you two. Strip!” Victor orders.

Halloween Party (A YOI Ficlet I Quickly Wrote)
Halloween Night- A Few Months After Yuri Moved to St. Petersburg
Yuuri fussed over his own costume, frowning. It didn’t look right, he was sure. He couldn’t tell why, though, he just knew something was off.
“Alright, let’s just go through the list: Cape? Check. Billowy white shirt? Check. Blood red vest? Check. Black pants? Check. Gloves? Check. Fangs? Oh wait!
Yuuri put in his fangs and smiled. Now he was finished! A vampire, simple and clean (hint hint). He sighed and groaned. He hadn’t even stepped out of his room, and he was tired of the party.
Yuuri and Victor has been invited to a skating party at the ice rink. The requirement was to dress up and skate around for at least a minute, but Yuuri just wanted to skate. Alone. Or, maybe just with Victor. Either way, just pure bliss.
Speaking of the silver-haired, silver-tongued Russian, Victor came up behind him and kissed his neck. “Such a sexy vampire, I can feel your hypnotic powers working.” Victor wrapped his arms around Yuuri’s waist and smiled, then slowly frowned. “... You’re not happy.”
“I dunno, the get-up seems... Too much? I just don’t feel comfortable.”
Victor nodded, then rested his head on Yuuri’s shoulder. “Well, we can’t go without costumes. Mila demanded.”
Yuuri chuckled. “I know. I’ll just suffer through the party, I guess.”
Victor sighed, trying to think of how to please Yuuri, when his lover began to shiver.
“Are you cold?” Victor asked.
“Just a bit. This is a cheap costume.”
Victor pulled away, grabbed his jacket, then paused. “... What if you didn’t have to be a vampire?”
“... What did you have in mind?”
———————————————————
Yuri Plitsetsky was not one for costumes. Which is probably why he only had two options: A really cool tiger onesie; or a different, just as cool tiger onesie.
“Beka, which one?” He held up the two onesies against his body, facing the camera. Currently, Yuri was only in his black boxer-briefs, shuffling around. Otabek seemed slightly amused by how the Russian tiger-fairy was running around with no clothes on.
“I think what you have on now is just fine.”
Yuri deadpanned and flipped the bird to his phone’s camera. “I’m serious! I’m already late!”
“Alright, alright. Uh... the one in your right hand.”
He held up the one in said right hand and Otabek gave him a thumbs up. He smiled and rushed off-camera, but still close by.
“I know for sure I’m not gonna like this party. Ugh, it’s gonna be so boring!”
“Why’s that?”
Yuri poked his head back into frame. “First off, you won’t be there to make it actually cool. Or, cooler, since I’m going.”
“Of course,” Otabek rolled his eyes.
“Secondly, that Japanese piggy and his old ass fiancé are going to be there, and they’re gonna be gross!”
“Oh?”
“Gonna kiss and hug and just be gross. And Mila is bringing some new hussy boyfriend with her to the party, and they’re gonna be just as bad at the piggy.”
Otabek nodded. “Yeah. I wish I could join you. Probably would be a lot of fun.”
“Yeah... Definitely would be better with you here.” He came back into frame fully and smiled. “How do I look?”
“Ferocious.”
“FUCK YEAH!” Yuri laughed, smiling widely.
“Alright, I have to get on my flight. I’ll talk to you after.”
“Of course you will.” He smiled and hung up, then sighed flopped onto the bed. Needless to be said, Yuri missed his best friend.
———————————————————
Finally, everyone was at the party. Yuri was skating away from Mila, who was dressed as a black cat. Georgia was dressed as an emo/scene person, although he was confused to be the only person who evaded Mila’s rule about costumes. Even Lila and Yakov were dressed up, as Frakestein’s Bride and Frakenstein’s monster (Wait, they match...).
Outside the doors, Yuuri and Victor were adjusting each other’s costume.
“You sure about this, Victor?”
“It’s a costume, and a sexy one at that.”
“I feel like this is cheating.”
“What, to dress up like your favorite celebrity?”
Yuuri was about to counter, but Victor shushed him and pulled him into the rink. “We’re here!”
All the skaters turned to look at them and jaws dropped.
Yuuri was dressed up at 5x Gold-Medalist Victor Nikiforov Of Russia, and Victor was dressed up as Silver-Medalist of the 2016 Grand Prix Finals Katsuki Yuuri of Japan.
(Technically, Mila should’ve counted this as cheating, but they looked too adorable)
Yuri was the first person to speak: “GROSS, YOU TWO ARE DRESSED AS EACH OTHER?!”
Mila smirked. “You two look adorable!” Then, she resumed chasing around Yuri.
As the party went on, the couple of the hour went around, talking to others. At some point, Yuuri started to get really into his role.
“Look at me, I’m Victor Nikiforov and I think that if I just open my arms for someone to hug me, I don’t actually mean I want a hug. Don’t get blood on my vest!” Yuuri started to act like the jacket he wore- Victor’s competition jacket- was the vest he wore when Yuuri smacked his face into a wall during a competition.
“Yuuri, that was one time-“
“Ooh, I’m Victor, and I decided to retire as a professional skater, but not really!” Yuuri casually flipped his short hair back, smirking.
“Really, bringing that up-“
“Look, I’m Victor! I decided to be jealous and assume that the guy I have a crush on is dating his dance teacher!” He put his hands on his hips and smiled at Victor.
“... Alright, we can play that game.”
“Huh?”
“Hi there, I’m Yuuri Katsuki and I got drunk at a GPF banquet and flirted with my future fiancé!” Victor smiled and draped himself over Yuuri, who was blushing madly now.
“Victor, I swear to god-“
“I’m Yuuri Katsuki and I decided to skate an Eros routine, but envisioned my eros as a porn cutlet bowl!” Victor posed sexily, smirking.
“Boi-“
“I’m Yuuri Katsuki and I got my boyfriend and I matching wedding rings. But, we’re not engaged, they’re just for ‘good luck’.”
Yuuri was about to retort, when Yuri called out, “SHUT UP, YOU TWO! YOU’RE BEING GROSSER THAN USUAL!”
The two lovers looked at each other and smiled, then rushed over to Yuri in the rink and started to tease him.
“LOOK AT ME, IM YURI PLITSETSKY AND IM SO EDGY! I WEAR DARK MAKEUP AND LISTEN TO HEAVY METAL!”
“IM YURI PLITSETSKY AND I PLANNED AN EXHIBITION SKATE THE NIGHT BEFORE I PERFORMED IT!”
“IM GOING TO KILL YOU TWO!” Yuri started to pull off his skate, prompting the other two to skate away.
———————————————————
Near the middle of the night, Yuri was against the rink walls, texting, when Mila came up.
“We got a new guest. Can you go see so it is?”
“Why should I if you already know-“
“Just go!” She pushed him towards the exit of the rink. He huffed and slowly skated to the exit, then saw who the new guest was.
In a large, teddy bear onesie and with a suitcase, Otabek stood at the doorway.
Two seconds later, Yuri rushed over and launched himself onto Otabek, smiling widely and screaming, “BEKA!”
(Later the next day, someone found a video someone had taken of Yuri tackling Otabek, and someone may have put it to the audio of “This bitch empty, YEET!”)

Journal Entry #5
Victor
Good news! My sunburn wasn't quite as bad as I thought. It might even settle into a nice tan in a couple of days, if I'm lucky.
And yes, I know this is my second entry today, but I feel like a lot happened on my first full day here, even though I didn't even have any activities planned.
This evening, after I’d found my way back to my campsite and applied a massive amount of lotion, and after the weather cooled off a bit, I decided to go exploring.
On my way up the beach from my campsite, I noticed a few huts that looked like they might be food stands or something, but they were all closed. But, not wanting to give up my quest for food cooked by someone other than me, I kept going. Eventually, I discovered a bar. Not gonna lie, it was kind of run-down if I were judging it by Mt. Komorebi standards. The cooking smells drifting out of it were literally making my mouth water, though. I was super hungry, so I made up my mind to check it out.
I don't know how, but somehow the bartender figured out right away that I'm a tourist. This totally never happened when I first moved to Mt. Komorebi. Even though I wasn't from there, nobody ever gave me such suspicious looks or called me out for being a newcomer. Maybe it was because they all respected my mad snowboarding skills, or maybe it was because Yuri and I were practically always together and no one felt it was appropriate to ask questions when I was with him.
Sadly, I don’t have my soulmate or my snowboard with me now, so I guess I’ll have to muddle through the awkwardness of being obviously out of place here as best as I can on my own.
Despite the weirdness with the bartender, I enjoyed the music and the general atmosphere of the bar, and I really loved the fresh local fish I ordered for dinner.
The place is called The Sand Bar, by the way. I think that’s a playfully accurate name for it, and I’ll definitely be coming back.
Tomorrow, I’ve got a few things on my itinerary, including snorkelling and a scuba diving lesson. Later in the week, I’m hoping to try my hand at sailing. Sailing is a sport, right? I predict I’ll be awesome at it.
It’s getting late, and I want to call Yuri and say good night to him. I miss him already, and I really wish he was here. Maybe some day in the future, I’ll convince him that we should travel somewhere together, but for now, I suppose I’ll have to be satisfied with phone calls until I get home. It’s difficult, but I’ll get through it.
Anyway, I’ll update all of you on my adventures tomorrow. See you soon!

15 fics under 1K kudos - WIPs
Here’s the list for wips, I might have to do a part 2 for this too lol WHO READS THIS MUCH JSADGSJG these are all fics I think are not abandonded (if I’m wrong, correct me) but I just listed stuff that've been updated in the last 6 months, just in case. Anyway, enjoy :)
A Practical Guide to Winning the Olympics (Dos and Don’ts) by Anna (arctic_grey) (@finleighsaid)
Canonverse, Rated E, 75K, 3 / 4
When pair skater Yuuri Katsuki’s career comes to a scandalous end, he does not expect the retired pair skating legend Viktor Nikiforov to suggest that they compete together. But taking on a new skating partner is full of trial and error, and the skating world doesn’t know how to react when the Katsuki-Nikiforov duo, against all odds, starts doing well. The last thing either of them should do, as they strive for their last chance at greatness, is to fall in love. Yuuri knows he is damaged goods, and Viktor knows his body is starting to fail him. They have competitions to survive and medals to win. No, falling in love is out of the question; they’re just very good friends. And even if Viktor felt something, he’d never act on it, and even if Yuuri happened to be hopelessly in love, he’d be mortified if Viktor ever found out.
“Well,” Viktor said, “let’s summarise: I’m pushing thirty, have a bad ankle, and haven’t skated competitively in three years. You’re barely out of a doping scandal, coachless, and on the JSF’s blacklist. Hell, Yuuri – we might as well go for it, then. What on earth do we have to lose?
When Viktor put it like that, it seemed to make an awful lot of sense.
• The fact that this is one of the few pair skating AUs out there it’s insane imo BUT this one is so good? just imagine the amount of UST, they’re all over each other, i’m in love!

Curse his fragile little heart for always falling for people out of his league.
Like, what chance did he ever have with Victor Nikiforov? But Victor still became, not only his childhood idol but also, his first crush.
His first crush was a man four years his senior. A man who lived in another continent. A man that hadn’t known he existed until a week ago.
Then he had moved to Geneva, and his heart had been hypnotized by Chris’s charm
Before he knew it, not only had Chris hypnotized him, but also seduced him.
His fragile little heart had done it again, falling in love with another man out of his league.
At least his second crush had been a little more realistic.
He knew Chris, they had been rink mates - and later roommates.
Maybe that is what made it so much more dangerous.

Loving Yuuri was a choice that Viktor never regretted making. His smile, his laughter, the way his lips felt against his own—nothing could make him happier than having Yuuri in his arms.
But when the entire world has no idea that rivals Yuuri Katsuki and Viktor Nikiforov are in a relationship, Viktor can't do anything at all when Yuuri gets in an accident and is rushed to the hospital the day after he proposes in a hotel room in Nagano
• Angsty secret relationships are apparently my thing, this one is so bittersweet because they’re so cute and soft but at the same time the drama!!!

There is a bitter rivalry between Yakov Feltsman and Celestino Cialdini that has stretched on for decades.
As tensions escalate and the ISU begin to punish any aggressors, it was inevitable that Viktor Nikiforov and Katsuki Yuuri, rivals-by-consequence and enemies-by-association, would fall in love.

Maybe it was the impact of the fall, and the numbing action of the ice, but he felt weightless. He felt conquered by cupid and the sting of his arrow right in the middle of his chest as he looked up at Yuuri, who held a blank expression on his face.

Somewhere in the distance, though it seemed like a different dimension to Victor, a timer went off. The music stopped.
You could hear it in the silence then.
Victor’s heart was going one hundred miles an hour.
Or the one where Yuuri Katsuki, scented candle aficionado, and self-proclaimed hot mess, never intended to capture the attention of one eligible bachelor, Victor Nikiforov, but sometimes the universe has its ways of making things happen. Amidst inner battles with their demons and themselves, they find a world in one another neither quite expected.
• The tags look kinda crazy but don't fear (?) this fic goes through lots of years LOTS, a story about friendship, love, heartache, “we can't be together vs we should be together”, and the ongoing growth of the characters BEWARE it gets super angsty at times.

YOI Future!Verse ABO AU - How Chris joined the family
Chris is Yuuri’s 5th husband in our big polyamorous family, and back in November when I was doing the family portraits, I also typed out some text headcanons explaining how they joined which I posted on my Patreon.
For Chris’s birthday, I’m sharing Chris’s headcanons publicly today!
Long, under cut, Chris x Yuuri-centric!
~~
IF YOU ARE NEW TO THIS AU: It’s a Yuri!!! on Ice AU, Yuuri-centric with end-game polyamory in an ABO setting, Yuuri gets married to six mates and they have OC kids.
BASICS and timeline of this AU
OTHER POSTS (comics + illustrations) in the Future!Verse ABO section of my YOI Masterpost.
~~
Here's some headcanons for how Chris ends up in this family:
In general, it goes much like this: Victor and Chris have always been BFFs with a LOT of benefits, and while they've never been romantically in love they're very platonically in love, as well as sexually and they did a lot of their sexual exploration together.
Chris has always been very attracted to Yuuri and has been pretty open about it (especially his fondness for his ass LOL) but he's also never been interested in looking for a committed relationship. He likes being very open and having fun with a variety of people who're also interested in the same. He's an extremely experienced lover who always makes sure that his partner(s) are having a great time, but he just never wanted all the additional emotional stuff and makes sure his partners are always aware of this.
Yuuri in this AU is pretty demi--he's quite oblivious about romance/sexual attraction for the most part, and can't really feel sexual attraction towards anyone he's not emotionally attracted to first. He's definitely the wrong partner for a one night stand or a casual open relationship, and Chris figured this out pretty early (while they were still Juniors), and was content to admire from afar and tease once in a while, occasionally quietly scaring off people who didn't get it from the shadows.
Then comes college and Phichit, then comes along Victor and Yurio, and while Chris has always been a friend/friendly acquaintance? with Yuuri, with Victor comes a closer position to Yuuri. Then comes marriage and Chris was like whelp, he had fun with Victor and it's gonna be weird (and honestly a bit lonely) never seeing him in the bedroom again because that's something they've always had, but it was bound to end one day...but Victor was like that's stupid, if Yuuri's alright with it and Chris wants to continue their open sexual-platonic relationship, then that's something Victor wants too because while not essential to their friendship, it's still part of them and what they share.
And Yuuri's okay with it, he genuinely really likes Chris and more importantly knows and trusts Chris, has honestly known him (however from a distance) the longest out of all of them? And while Chris is very firm on his lack of interest in a committed relationship, he's also honest about his attraction to Yuuri, and Victor's pretty happy because his relationship with Chris is something he'd like to share with Yuuri too. Given his experience now with Phichit, Victor, and Yurio, Yuuri feels a bit more confident and honestly if he's gonna trust anyone else it's gonna be Chris and he'd be lying if he said he didn't find Chris attractive, so...
...is all it was supposed to be. Chris comes to hang out a lot because he's still Victor's BFF and Victor has a sweet house, he was already friends with Phichit but he's getting along better and better with the others (and for some reason often ends up coordinating with Otabek), of course he's delighted to share any time with Yuuri, the sexytimes are fun and flexible, and the kids are adorable and Chris doesn't see himself wanting his own so all the more reason to get attached to your best mate's, right?
And sure, when he gets a temp job in Asia he sorta more or less moves in (semi?) permanently (like why would you ever even think about a hotel if your friend lives in an ice rink-hot springs palace?), and sure he sorta gets his own personal room, and sure he sorta helps Yuuri train the lil ones at the rink and then helps Minami tutor the kids in schoolwork and yeah he just went grocery shopping so Yurio can make dinner but like, that's normal right???
Another thing that's sorta been on going with him and Yuuri that was supposed to be entirely a joke is that they call each other really disgustingly cheesy pet names. Like Yuuri in general isn't very fond of super coupley pet names and sure he'll throw around a "Yes dear," once in a while, he honestly cringes a bit at "Honey," "Baby," "Babe," etc. But with Chris it's always been nothing but play-pretend so they toss these around very casually without batting an eye along with the mutual ass gropes that have just become part of daily routine, and Victor finds it endlessly amusing because anyone uses those pet names and Yuuri'll make the Face of mild disgust.
And then there's Yuuji. This is going to be the topic of one the upcoming Yuuji-centric 4Komas, but Yuuji goes through a phase when he was younger and just starting to talk where he just calls EVERYONE "Papa." Because he likes the word, because there's a lot of Papas and the parents assume he's just trying to figure out who he can apply it to, there's a lot of people and it can get confusing so it's fine if he takes his time. Yuuji gets bored of calling everyone other than his actual dads Papa within a few months, but for some reason has NEVER stopped calling Chris and Otabek this. Even when he, like the other kids, learns to call the dads by first name when talking about them in 3rd person and there's a need to distinguish them, he still goes back to calling them "Papa" in 2nd person.
Yuuri's terribly flustered that Yuuji refuses to stop calling Otabek this even though Otabek says he doesn't mind, it's quite an honor really, and Yurio thinks it's hilarious, and Yuuji looks so smug Yuuri throws up his hands and goes fine! whatever.
With Chris though, it sorta very naturally falls in place with their Honey-Darling mock relationship, and whenever Yuuji says, "Papa," Chris always returns "Yes, son?" without batting an eye. They're pretty sure Yuuji knows that's not the case at this point but whatever, what's the harm?
...So one day Chris wakes up as usual in the Katsuki household with Victor snoring on one arm and Yuuri on the other, and Yuuri mumbles, "Good morning, Babe," and Chris automatically responds, "Morning Honey," and they kiss with nasty morning breath, and Yuuji pokes his head in the room and sees that Chris is awake and says, "Papa, the dogs want to poo," or some shit, and Chris is like alright son let's let the dogs go poo.
And while he's watching the dogs prance around in the back yard with Yuuji dangling from his back, drinking coffee that Phichit had made, Chris sorta thinks--what the fuck am I doing? And how long have I been doing this? Is it just me or has this been going on for more than a decade? When was the last time I had some fun (or even wanted to) with anyone outside this family?
...Is it just me or am I already more than committed?
........and then when Victor finally crawls downstairs and has his coffee too and Yuuri's still sleeping in with Yurio and Minami, Chris is like, so uh, mind sharing Yuuri's ring size...
And Victor may or may not have spat out his coffee before ringing Phichit down from his office and they may or may not have exchanged money because the fucks had apparently been betting on him and Chris just sorta groans because his friends are terrible but this is apparently his life now.
....is basically what I have planned at the moment ^ ^;;;;;

Your SND/SIT AU is super cute~ Has Victor ever dragged his little family on a spa day? How did Yura react to knowing you could paint your nails? I bet he wanted tiger stripes on his nails hahaha
Manicure
“We should go away for theweekend.”
Yuuri hummed at Victor’ssuggested as he sunk a little deeper into the bath. It was only Wednesday andhe was ready for his rest day. But thankful, Victor had seemed to pick up onhis tired mood and run them both a lovely bubble bath to share.
Helet out a soft moan as he felt Victor’s fingers slip into his hair, slowly beginningto massage shampoo into his hair.
“Thereis this spa resort a few towns over. It does lovely massages and mud baths. Oh,they even let children into the,” Victor said a work that he didn’t know, causing him to tilt his head back to look up at his fiancé. He repeated theword slowly, earning a chuckle from Victor.
“Facility,”Victor said in accented English, causing him to nod, “So, we can take Yurochka.”
Victor smiled down at him for a momentbefore flicking bubbles into his face. He gasped at the attack by his fiancé beforepulling away from his fiancé.
“No,” Victor whined, pulling him back down, causing water to rock back and forth at the sudden action.
“Stay there,” Victor commanded beforereturning to washing his hair. He huffed as he wiped away the bubble attackbefore letting his eyes slide shut, enjoying the feeling of Victor’s handsrunning through his hair.
“So, what do you think?” Victor asked whilegently pouring water over his head, washing the shampoo out.
“You’d have to ask Madam Baranovskaya foran extra day off,” he pointed out, causing Victor to let out a whine.
“Why Lilia? Why can’t I ask Minako?” Victorwhined. He chuckled as he carefully turned around, trying not to splash toomuch water out of the bath as he did so. He smiled up at Victor when they werefinally facing each other.
“Minako-sensei isn’t in charge of mytraining this week,” he told Victor.
Victor stared at him for a moment beforesighing dramatically before leaning forwards to press a kiss to his forehead.
“Fine, I suppose.” He chuckled softly athis fiancé before closing his eyes, simply relaxing against his fiancé chestfor a moment.
“So, spa weekend?” Victor confirmed, fingers tracing up and down his spine.
“Yes. Spa weekend,” he confirmed, smilingto himself as Victor pressed another kiss against the crown of his head beforebursting into excited chatter that he was too tired to keep up with. He let thesound of his fiancé talking lull him into a light snooze as he enjoyed theirshared bath.
“Papa.”
“Yes?”
“Are we there yet?”
“I don’t know.”
Victor couldn’t help but chuckle to himselfas he glanced into the rear-view mirror, catching sight of the adorable pout plasteredon Yuri’s lips.
“Vicchan,” the boy called out to him, catchinghis gaze in the mirror.
“Yes?” he questioned, smiling at the boy.
“Are we there yet?” Yuri questioned.
“I don’t know,” he replied, earning a groanof displeasure from the boy.
“Vicchan!” Yuri whined, pouting even moredramatically at him.
“Sorry, sorry,” he said, turning hisattention back to the road in front of him. “Do you see the big house to ourright?” he questioned.
“Yes,” Yuri huffed.
“That is it,” he told the boy. The backseatwas quiet for a moment before there was a gasp of delight.
“Really?” Yuri questioned in excitement. Hesmiled as he turned into the drive way, driving the car all the way up until hestopped right outside the front entry. Almost as soon as he turned the car off,a valet appeared, opening the car door for him.
“Good morning sir.” He smiled at the valet, handing the keys of his pink Cadillac while moving to the back of his beloved pinkCadillac – something that Yuuri had called over the top the first time he hadshown his than boyfriend the car – to start getting all the luggage out whileYuuri helped their little hellcat out of the car.
“I’ve got that, sir.” A man interrupted him, beginning to remove their luggage from the back of the car from him. He stoodthere a moment, making sure that no damage was done to his car or their luggagebefore turning to check up on his little family.
“Papa, no!” Yuri’s voice called out, catching his attention. He smiled as he glanced over to see Yuuri offering topick up the boy while Yuri shook his head in denial.
He had noticed recently how their little guyhad begun getting disgruntled whenever he was being carried around – at leastwhen it wasn’t bed time. He couldn’t blame the boy from getting upset. He wassix after all, they really shouldn’t be carrying him around - but Yuri was justso small and cute.
“Fine, but you have to hold Vicchan or myhand,” Yuuri told the boy, holding out his hand. Yuri stared at his father fora moment before glancing towards him. After a moment, Yuri took his father’shand, sticking a tongue out in his direction.
“Yurio,” he gasped, clutching his chest, “Youwound me.”
Yuuri rolled his eyes while holding out hisother hand towards him. He smiled as he took it, lacing their fingers together.
“This way,” he said, pulling his Yu(u)ri’stowards the entry of the spa.
“What are they doing?” Yuri mumbled curiously, trying to peak over the edge of the table to see what the manicurist cleaningVictor’s nails was doing.
“She giving me a,” Victor said, finishingthe sentence with another word he wasn’t familiar with. He repeated the word tohimself.
“Manicure,” the manicurist repeated inEnglish. He smiled at her, not bothering to inform her that he was aware ofwhat she was doing, just hadn’t been aware of the word in Russian.
It was strange, it had been a while sincehe hadn’t known a word in Russian, and now within less than a week, he hadlearned two new ones. He might have to organise a coffee date with Dina to makesure his Russian was still up to standard.
“Manicure?” Yuri repeated slowly.
“She’s cleaning Vicchan’s nails and thenshe will make them pretty,” he told Yuri while holding his arms out for theboy, offering to hold him up to get a better look. Yuri eyed his arms for amoment before stepping into them. He smiled as he scooped up the boy, givinghim a better view of the table.
“What colour should I get my nails painted,Yurochka?” Victor questioned, catching the boy attention.
“Colour?” Yuri questioned curiously. Hechuckled as the manicurist pointed behind them where the wall was lined with hundredsof nail polish bottles – organise first by brand and then by colour.
“Why don’t we go pick some colours forVicchan while the nice lady cleans Vicchan’s nails?” he offered, earning a nodfrom the boy immediately.
He walked towards the wall of nail polishbefore slowly starting to look through all the colours. After a moment, heshifting Yuri in his arms so he could reach out and grab a hot pink colour.
“What about this one?” he asked, shakingthe bottle before handing it to the boy. Yuri took the bottle of nail polish, looking at it for a moment before shaking his head.
“No. Vicchan should get gold!” Yuri toldhim with a serious look.
“The nice lady can do lots of prettycolours, we don’t have to pick just one,” he told the boy, biting back achuckle at the look of wonder that went across the boy’s face.
“Really?” Yuri questioned, glancing overhis shoulder towards Victor.
“I bet if you asked, she could even drawsome pretty pictures,” he whispered to the boy, earning a gasp.
“Can she do my nails too!” Yuri questioned, turning to look at him with an excited look, “I want tiger stripes!”
“How about we pick some colours out forVicchan and then we can ask?” he suggested. Yuri started to wiggle in his gaspuntil he gently set the boy on his feet. Yuri hurried to the other end of thewall, starting to look through the colour at that end.
After five minutes, they settled on a nicegold – that Yuri wanted Victor to wear – and a nice metallic pink – that hewanted Victor to wear, it also helped that it matched the gold that Yuripicked.
Victor seemed delighted with the colours, thanking Yuri for picking them out for him. The boy smiled in delight beforeturning towards the manicurist with a serious look on his face.
“Excuse me,” Yuri mumbled.
“Yes?” the manicurist replied.
“Can you do my nails after Vicchan’s?” Yuriquestioned, “I want tiger strips.”
The manicurist stared at the boy for a momentbefore nodding her head, smiling brightly at Yuri. Yuri cheered in delight, turning to them with a bright smile.
“I’m gonna get tiger stripes!” Yuri toldthem in excitement.
“He is going to starve to death.”
Victor whined dramatically as they sat inthe dining hall, large plates of food spread out in front of them. He raised aneyebrow towards his fiancé who was staring at Yuri was a worried look on hisface.
He sighed as he turned to the boy who wasstaring down at his nails with a look of fascination on his face – a look thathadn’t faded since the manicurist had finished doing the boys tiger strips.
“Yurochka,” he called out, “Eat yourdinner.”
“But papa,” Yuri gasped in horror, “I mightruin the strips.”
“No, you won’t,” he ensured the boy.
“Papa,” Yuri huffed, “The lady said that Ihad to be carefully or I’ll ruin them.”
“She meant while they dried, Yurochka, there are very much dry,” Victor ensured the boy, who huffed at them.
“Not going to ruin them,” Yuri huffed, turning in his chair to look away from them.
He turned to Victor with a defeated look onhis face.
“Yurochka,” Victor called out to the boy, “Ifyou ruin them, we will just have to get you more tiger strips.”
Yuri paused before slowly turning back tothem.
“Really?” Yuri questioned, eyeing themclosely.
“Yep! Maybe next time we will get leopardspots instead,” Victor suggested, earning a gasp of delight from thesix-year-old.
He sighed and shook his head, wonderingwhat trouble they had gotten themselves into by allowing Yuri to get amanicure.

Latte Talks About: Y//O//I
okay, fuck it, let’s go.
for context, i use to be a fan of the show in the beginning. i thought it was kind of interesting, and the main character being in his 20′s and coping with constant anxiety was something i can 100% relate to! that being said, i have a shitton of issues with the show and the fanbase itself by extension.
i’m gonna put all this under a readmore and separate this by categories. before that, i’m gonna start off with a quick summary of what Y/O//I is (for anyone that’s kinda curious and have 0 idea wtf this anime even is about). i tried to keep everything as brief as possible so it won’t be too much to read through, but i have a lot to say about this entire anime that i didn’t get to say last year, soooo.
PROLOGUE: WHAT IS “ YOI ” ?
if you already know what YOI is, you can skip right over this and jump right into PART ONE.
ok, so. Yuri!!! on ICE (a.k.a. YOI) is a sports anime series that was produced by MAPPA, directed by Sayo Yamamoto and was written by Mitsurō Kubo. it ran from October 6, 2016 – December 22, 2016, with 12 episodes under its belt for one season and talks of a possible second season.
the story goes that 23-year old (turns 24 in episode 9) Yuuri Katsuki is Japan’s top figure skater and he fucks the fuck up at the last Grand Prix Final (GPF) he participated in. he decides that he might as well put this career on hold or just quit altogether. while he’s chillin’ back at home (which is a hotel-bath house, keep that in mind for a lil’ bit), he recreates an advanced performance done by his idol Victor Nikiforov during that same GPF (Viktor was in first place, Yuuri was dead last).
well, this performance was secretly recorded by his friends’ triplet daughters and put up on YouTube, getting the attention of Victor and prompting Victor to stop skating for an entire season to coach Yuuri (much to the dismay of Victor’s coach, Yakov). this event sets off Yuri “Yurio” Plisetsky, a 15-year old skating protege that worked with Victor closely and was promised Victor’s help years ago.
the two compete for who gets to be coached by Victor in this season and Yuuri beats Yurio, leading to the rivalry between the two and Yurio returning to Russia without Victor. the anime goes through the entire skating season revolving around these three characters- along with a revolving door of side characters in order to keep the competitions interesting- going through physical and even mental obstacles to kick their opponents’ asses.
...and this is where my issues with the anime starts.
PART ONE: THE STORY IS AWKWARD
i have a lot of issues with this anime. a lot.
for one thing, the entire story hinges on this one accidental night that was revealed in episode 10 after Victor and Yuuri trade matching golden rings: Yuuri got hella wasted after his fuckup in the GPF, and basically gave Victor the time of his life. they danced, and Victor had fallen hard for drunk-off-his-ass Yuuri. (pole dancing was also somehow involved. don’t ask me how.)
Yuuri forgot the entire night, presumably because he dropped off the face of the earth in social media. my main issue with that is how was this never brought up again with any of the other characters?! how was Yuuri completely unaware of this happening?!
Yuuri’s friend, Phichit, being unaware of it makes a little bit of sense due to his absence during that GPF. but not Yuuri? there was a small segment in the first episode that shows that he had his phone notifications off for a long period of time after he recreated Victor’s routine.
but, i still find that to be a bit too convenient. and after he’s back into skating how did no one else mention this? i know Chris, Victor and Mickey alluded to it at separate points and that makes sense- it’s a good way to get the shock of what episode 10 dropped on us to be even better.
...but no one’s bothered to straight-up mention, “hey, Yuuri, remember when you spun on a fucking pole and beat a 14-year old in a break dance competition? yeah, what the fuck was up?”
my main issue with the entire story would be the ending, so...
PART TWO: THE ENDING KINDA WAS MEH IMO
the end of the series has Yuuri coming in second place (a huge improvement from the last year) and Yurio in first place in his first senior-division GPF. oh, also JJ gets in third place somehow, but we’ll get back to that in a second.
now, i get why they made Yuuri get second place since he promised to quit skating competitively once he wins gold and to also “allow” Victor to go back to skating (there’s a huge internal conflict with Yuuri since a lot of people assumed Yuuri “stole” Victor from competing). what could’ve happened instead of Yuuri getting second is the following:
Yuuri wins gold, and he either stays in the competing world as a competitor for another year because he gained his love for the sport back and wants to go for one more year. or, he decides to teach Minami (an upcoming Japanese skater that greatly admires Yuuri). this would help create a new dynamic with Yuuri and Victor (if Victor coaches Yurio if Yuuri starts coaching), along with introducing Yurio to a new competitor for the next skating season.
Victor stays as a coach, for either Yuuri or Yurio (since Yuuri does move in with Victor after this GPF). he really enjoys coaching people, and learns how to improve his coaching skills with extra help from Yakov.
Yurio comes in second. he’s devastated at first, and he’s disappointed in himself. but then he remembers: he’s only 15. and he got second place in his first senior division GPF. and that itself is fucking incredible.
JJ gets dead last. after an incredible season of completely crushing all of the other competitors and even showin’ Yuuri up by perfectly executing Victor’s signature move (that Yuuri struggled to replicate), he fucked up. he messed up both his skate routines. with the promise he had made is fiance, Isabella, that winning gold means they’ll get married and he fucks it all up. but, Isabella is still with him after he fucks up; his parents- that are also his coaches- still support him; the crowds still chant for King JJ! the king may have fallen, but he’s not gonna give it up. and he becomes stronger from that!
give Phichit or Chris bronze, dammit.
PART THREE: THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES ARE MEH AS HELL TOO, NGL
so the character design was handled by Tadashi Hiramatsu, working off of Kubo’s original sketches of how the designs would look. and overall, i think the designs are alright. they don’t stem too far from reality (with a few exceptions, because this is a fuckin’ sports anime so fuck it!).
i’m only gonna specify a few characters, because tbh almost all the characters are very flat or not interesting. if they didn’t have nice designs or hella bomb music for their routines i wouldn’t even give a flying fuck about them. but they have that goin’ for them, i guess.
Yurio Plisetksy
oh, we’re gonna get back to this character don’t worry.
Seung-gil Lee
i personally don’t have much to say about Seung-gil, but the issue of racism against this character was brought up multiple times while the show was airing.
Seung-gil is a South Korean skater that competes against Yuuri once, and was unable to make the cut. the issue with this character is that he’s rude to a lady skater that seems to have taken some interest in him (and she was being polite and sweet to him) by ignoring her calls and outright saying he has no interest in being her friend. he also is calculating his scores as he’s performing.
Otabek Altin and JJ
god, i wish Otabek was introduced earlier ‘cause he probably would’ve been a much better character. his entire existence was basically just to contrast Yurio, and not in the way JJ does with Yuuri.
Otabek is a large and powerful masculine man, while Yurio is constantly called the “Russian ice fairy” due to his more feminine appearance (which was stated in the anime). and Otabek admires Yurio’s grace while Yurio admires his strength. but, other than that, Otabek is basically only a prop for Yurio. his entire character revolves around Yurio, and that’s it. you can’t really talk about Otabek at all without even mentioning Yurio.
with JJ, he’s got his own character arc goin’ for him. he’s always been at the top, he’s incredibly skilled and everyone fucking bows for King JJ. fuck, he has an entire song called Theme of King JJ! and this contrasts amazingly with Yuuri!
whereas Yuuri is constantly questioning his self-worth and skill, JJ owns that shit. but with Otabek and Yurio, it falls flat, and in the next section i’m gonna delve into the character of Otabek a bit more.
Makkachin
the dog is objectively the best character and no one can say otherwise.
PART FOUR: YURIO IN GENERAL TBH
honest to god, i think Yurio was the character that was hardest for me to get use to.
and i’m just gonna start right off with my biggest issue here: Yurio was incredibly sexualized. and not in the way that would be Yurio owning his sexuality.
nope, Yurio’s performance for his exhibition skate Welcome to the Madness was very... uncomfortable to sit through. his performance was like this:
(CREDIT FOR THIS GIF)
there is absolutely NO FUCKING REASON to show off one of the youngest characters in this show in this way. there’s ZERO REASON FOR THIS BOY’S SHIRT TO RIDE UP LIKE THIS, OR FOR HIM TO REPLICATE THIS SPECIFIC ICE SKATING MOVE. you want one of your characters to perform that kind of move as a homage to Stéphane Lambiel? HAVE YUURI DO IT- HE WAS THE ONE THAT SKATED TO EROS- A LITERAL SKATING ROUTINE ABOUT PASSION AND LOVE-MAKING AND ALL THAT JAZZ.
yeah, Yurio was the one that wanted to go for that spicier routine (basically personifying lust) over Agape (personifying wholesome love), and you can argue that having Yurio do shit like this was for the character to show everyone that he has control over his own sexuality, but that isn’t the case. having his arc be about how he’s coming to terms with his sexuality or how he feels pressured into being more sexual while still being a minor- leading to him being uncomfortable and having a new friend step in and say “hey you do wtf you wanna do” would’ve made this shitshow better.
no, the creator made this routine in order to get more sales (which duh), and to garner more interest from the side of the fanbase that wants to see Yurio get together with Otabek by throwing him in the routine.
Otabek’s part in the routine was only for a decoration, like icing on the cake for Yurio’s performance! he was only there so they could upstage Yuuri and Victor’s duet!
this isn’t a character taking charge of his sexuality or even an arc about how figure skaters. no, they only had Yurio doing this performance because a lot of people wanted to see Yurio and Otabek end up together (which is something I’ve already stated i have a few issues with).
a really good way they could’ve taken Yurio’s arc was to show him being pressured by the adults in his life into having to sexualize himself, and constantly showing Yurio being uncomfortable with this. he just wants to skate his own way, but then the fear of the judges and other competitors looking down on him because he’s the youngest competitor in this year’s GPF (everyone’s in their 20′s, minus JJ who is 19) he falls into a state of depression because he’s not doing things on his own terms. have Yurio combating with this inner struggle and have him overcome it by saying, “hey fuck you, stop staring at me like this.” have Otabek back him up- have Otabek (who is 18) be someone that isn’t confident with himself and have him be the one that tells Yurio, “hey, this is hella gross, are you even okay with any of this?”
or, y’know, don’t sexualize kids just for money, just sayin’, that’s a better option.
another issue i’ve seen with Yurio is that he’s fucking everywhere.
yes, Yurio is a main character and i get that he’s gonna get a shit ton more merch than Georgi or Leo, but he’s overshadow the other two main characters. and honestly, i’m sick of seeing him. it’s upsetting, but true. i’m sick of that character entirely.
PART FIVE: THE ANIMATION REALLY ISN’T GOOD
so, another issue i have is that the animation really isn’t jaw-dropping.
the only time i was fucking impressed by the animation was episode one, showing off Victor’s performance of Stammi Vicino!
the show’s animation was subpar at best, and it wasn’t anything revolutionary or stellar at all. it was very flat and static, and even the ice skating routines were boring in that regard. there’s barely any real effort that is put into the animation of the anime, and it’s a real let-down!
y’know what anime had crazy-good animations? Mob Psycho 100.
this character is just talking to people, and he’s incredibly animated and overall interesting to watch!
this show has very interesting use of squash and stretch when it comes to making characters emote. even the smallest of expressions are easily magnified due to the solid execution by the animation team at Studio Bones!
YOI could’ve better attempted at doing this with at least the skating routines, and the bare minimum with the main three characters. it would’ve made the anime a lot more engaging instead of having everything be so damn static or consist of shot reverse-shots. having more interesting angles in the show would also help with the expression of feelings, as this show is very heavy on emotional weight when it comes to Yuuri and Yurio’s struggles to compete against the other.
and i’m so not upset about MP 100 losing to YOI in the Crunchyroll anime awards because it was totes not biased. which, by the way...
PART SIX: THE FANBASE ITSELF (OH BOY)
these are a few examples of the issue i take with the fanbase. for this section, i’m going to list off what problems i have with the fanbase, and why i now have the entire YOI tagged blacklisted.
Victor and Yuuri’s relationship (homophobia!!): this is one of the biggest reasons why i don’t associate with the fanbase anymore. the fanbase constantly takes this couple and tries to add toxic “relationship problems” to them. this includes (but is not limited to):
threatening to divorce each other
doting “wife” Yuuri
“playboy” Victor
Yurio’s “constant disgust” with the two being happy together (Yurio seeing “sin” if the two so much as cuddle with each other)
basically calling two men that are together “a dirty sinful ship”
“Victor is the man of the relationship” “no, Yuuri is” (basically the application of heterosexual standards onto a gay pairing, and having a “power struggle” with them instead of them being happy together)
fanfics (which i will make a separate part for)
Yurio’s sexualization (OtaYuri): i’ve went well into depth about this, but there’s another point i would live to bring up. there are actual minors that don’t want to see Yurio in a sexual way because they’re around the same age as him and don’t like the idea of having people having sexual fantasies about a teenager. that thought genuinely makes them uncomfortable. well, the side of the fanbase that ships OtaYuri (the ship name) will go well out of their way in order to make them uncomfortable. some OtaYuri shippers join anti-OtaYuri discord servers or skype groups, and then spam them with OtaYuri content until they’re permanently banned from the chats.
Killing Stalking (also referred to as “KS”): i already can’t stand the fucking online series called Killing Stalking, and it’s horrid to sit through. the fanbase of KS already has a fucked up vision of shipping the two main men- one of them being a homophobic serial killer that breaks the other guy’s legs in order to keep him trapped in his home and another his obsessive stalker that broke into his house. and the Yuri!!! on ICE fanbase flocked right into that the second the anime ended, and decided it was okay to take Victuuri (the ship name of Victor and Yuuri), and try to come up with their fucked up headcannons and AU’s with KS.
The YOI Fanfics: okay. this is honestly a huge part of why i’m very cautious of interacting with YOI fans. there’s a multitude of fanfics that incorporate homophobic, non-consensual aspects into their writing just so people can get their rocks off to it. and that really bugs me. i’m going to talk about the kinds of fanfics that really seem to bug me the most. WARNIING: this is NSFW-related, since that’s the most kind of fanfic i’ve seen of them.
Alpha/Omega/Beta Fics: this category for fanfictions involves an AU where occasionally characters will go “into heat” and have the uncontrollable need to breed with either their partner or anyone nearby. and usually it’s the “uncontrollable, lusty, submissive Omega” (which is commonly Yuuri) that needs their “dominating and powerful Alpha” (usually Victor) to give into desires and screw. a lot. now, this is wrong for a coupe of reasons: it portrays these gay men as people that cannot control their desires at all; this isn’t always consensual sex at first; there’s always a focus on a power dynamic between the two+ characters involved due to being “presented” as an Alpha, Omega, or Beta.
THE POSITIVES: YES, THERE’S A FEW POSITIVES I SAW
its music was composed by Taro Umebayashi and Taku Matsushiba, and they did a fucking great job workin’ with the music. On Love: EROS will remain as my favorite song from the entire album that YOI released.
seeing Yuuri attempt Victor’s move in episode 7 and then successfully master it in episode 12 was something amazing to see. it was an incredible thing to see Yuuri land on his feet as opposed to him hitting the ice again, and it really shows how far’s he’s come.
another positive would 100% be the fact that figure skating had gained a lot more popularity. it was so nice seeing so many people become more interested in the sport itself, and i loved seeing pro skaters even love the show! Stéphane Lambiel even had a cameo in episode 12!
the characters’ designs are really not all that bad. and the voice work is great! i don’t really watched dubbed anime often, but the dub for YOI was over-the-top and ridiculous! and the VA for Yuuri in the English dub (Josh Grelle) was at SuperCon this year, and he kept talking about how much he loved Yuuri’s character. he loves the fact that the story of YOI takes place in a world where no one has to be afraid of loving who they love, and that’s something he wants to see in the near future, and i find that incredibly sweet.
the dog is immortal.
CONCLUSION
so. there you go. that’s all i have to say about the entirety of Yuri!!! on ICE.
did i enjoy it? well, yeah, a little bit. i was a part of a YOI skype chat when it began because i was so excited that we were getting a sports anime about figure skating!
was it worth all the Internet-breaking hype? eeeeh, not entirely, no? episode 7′s kiss was something special, yes, but the show itself wasn’t allowed to be critiqued that often while the show was still riding the high of popularity it had.
and if you liked the anime, that’s awesome! i’m glad you did! i can 100% see why the show was very popular and why a lot of people still love it!
i don’t label every YOi fan a homophobe for liking the show, but seeing this kind of behavior way too often has made me lose my love for the show overall. i can’t even look at the show anymore, and that’s really upsetting to me. but, it did make me happy for the time being. it’s just a fucking shame that the show had a shit ton to work with, and they didn’t go for it.
i’m sorry this got very long, but there were some areas that i needed to delve more into than others and i got carried away.

yuri on ice liveblogging ep 10
Oooh Victor's POV! Do I get insight into him now!?
Okayy Victor re: offering to take those naked pictures of Christophe, aren't you with Yuuri now? Isn't that a thing? If that means we have 'I'm not gonna stop being a flirty playboy it doesn't Mean Anything' fight coming up I'm excited for it tbh, but I hope something happens.
And is Victor's phone case a closeup of a costume of his? LOL Victor.
"Now he oozes sexuality, but when I first met him he was like a pure little boy" is not making the subtext of Chris being Victor's maybe ex something be LESS, I'm just saying. It sounds a whole lot like Yuuri's arc too.
LOL Yuriy is such a brat. Checking in's not that hard… and he gets what he deserves with the horde of catgirls, I guess :D. Gotta say, his furious faces all the time crack me up.
"Jetlagged Sleeping Beauty"!!!! I wondered if the Sleeping Beauty references would come back but here I don't think it's a fairy tale thing, just literal. (And aww it's sweet that Victor calls him beautiful in his narration.) And… I guess… Victor has ~awakened~ him, arguably, so there's that, even if it's an abstract big-picture thing.
SO WHY ARE VICTORS CLOTHES ON A SEPARATE BED? Surely they're sleeping together now?? Or maybe not, who knows!
"Yuuri's life and love have opened up a brand new world for me" - okay, after all the professional-level narration that's really fucking touching. Yuuri's love!!! But also PLS EXPAND PLS EXPLAIN Victor okay??
Ahhh man Victor posting sexy selfies with another guy while your boyfriend's sleeping in bed! Let's see how he reacts to that. *chinhands, gets popcorn*…. apparently NOT AT ALL? Cmon Yuuri! I guess he's confident or whatever but I wanna see conflict.
And the beds look like they're pushed right together! I don't think they did in the earlier shot…?
"Love's changed me" HMM tell me about it. Oh well of course he's ~stronger.~ And he misses Victor!!! Awww!!! Only not when Victor actually comes in lol…. again I would like the Conflict!
"Nobody had ever asked Yuriy if he wanted to be friends with them before" possibly cause he spits venom at everyone but I guess that's why Yuriy/Otabek is a thing!
"Fine then I'm tired" aw <3 lol it's very managey which Victor tends to be but it's what Yuuri needs right now so it's good.
Huhhh I wonder what Victor's meant to be talking about re: Christmas! e.g. does he mean they still celebrate New Year's instead of Christmas, which is a pretty big thing (what my family does, and huge celebrations on TV) (I would say though like for any big holiday, the decorations and food-making definitely start before the day of!), or is he talking about Orthodox Christmas being in January, or..? This has nothing to do with anything but I'm curious.
A lucky charm and a gift for Victor, okay, this is the rings! And he puts it on Victor's finger in a church…… honestly, I'm going with Symbolic Wedding Rings (but actually technically just rings) for whatever money we wanna put on it.
"Thank you Victor, for everything you've done. I wanted to get you something and this was the best thing I could think of. Anyway, I, um, I'll do my best from tomorrow on. So, tell me something?"
"Okay. I'll tell you something that you won't even have to think about. Tomorrow, skate in a way that's true to yourself. Show me a program that makes you proud. There's only one way to a gold medal that I know, and that's it."
"this was the best thing I could think of" kinda kills me A LOT. Cause it's obviously not about the appropriateness or quality, physically, of the ring as a simple gift. It's "the best thing I could think of to give you wasn't a THING, it's this symbol of me/our relationship," it's… giving myself to you symbolically in this way, giving this symbol of seriousness and committment, (which is what the rings are - I don't think they're literally either engaged or married? cause that scene looks like a marriage, not an egagement), is… better than anything, right? Yuuri has the confidence to say that believing that Victor thinks it's so, but, also, I believe, wants confirmation.
Cause all the thanks and all the doing his best and so forth are real, and are important, as well as being what he's allowed to say by the show, but shhh.
And Victor going with "I'll tell you something you won't even have to think about" is actually wonderful!? Cause it might sound not so romantic, why's he talking about Yuuri's performance rather than about how much he loves Yuuri, etc., but the fact is… Yuuri, right now, is incredibly worked up about this upcoming performance. Victor knows it, Victor gets it, and what Yuuri needs from him right now, more than anything, is something that'll calm his nerves. Something that he won't have to think about cause thinking distracts him - and Victor, presumably, knows that. So making his response this gentle pep talk is Victor showing Yuuri how he loves him, rather than telling him.
"At the banquet you got wasted on champagne and started dancing." Yuuri's dirty moves! Again, so this is where this came from!
Yuri says "it's a good luck charm! And, you know, there are layers!" Then Victor says "it's an engagement ring!" AND HERE I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST FANDOM DISAGREEING LOLOLOL. And for once I'm not even saying 'er maybe you guys should talk to each other and like FIGURE IT OUT!' I'm going with what I said earlier, that it's a committment ring, a promise ring, y'know, something like that; symbolic and meaningful and certainly relationshippy, but not too specific within that area. Not what I'd call an engagement ring per se cause there was no proposal AFAIK. Meaning the actual truth lies somewhere in between what the two of them said - and it makes total sense how both of them are bending it, not for themselves or for each other but for the audience.
Yuuri doesn't want everyone to know what he's doing/thinking/feeling, he's a pretty private person. He may not be hiding his relationship with Victor per se but I feel pretty safe saying he'd rather not make a big public thing out of it, either, unless that happens spontaneously in some moment.
Whereas Victor the shameless flirt is like, it's an engagment ring! Whether he expects anyone to take him seriously or not, he's a show-off. Like we also know. And these things aren't just about Victor's or Yuuri's relationship and how they present it, but how they are, generally.
And will they actually get married when/if Yuuri wins the gold? I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if they get married sometime before next season starts, regardless. They seem to be moving things pretty fast! So Victor's not just making shit up in that regard, even if they haven't promised or discussed it.
Also lol JJ is SUCH AN ASS.
Hotel room with two beds pushed together again! And Victor absent. Is there some Hays code like rule that we can't see them sharing a bed??
It's, uh, interesting I guess that Victor doesn't feel the need to defend Yuuri in absentia from Yuriy's insults. I guess he doesn't take them seriously enough. (I feel like his default actually when it comes to things that aren't skating or love but just, like, general interaction, is neither to take things seriously nor to be serious himself. Which is an interesting contrast with Yuuri, who's pretty much all serious all the time.)
OKAY WELLLLLLLLL that was an interesting ending sequence, all right! WITH THE POLE DANCING AND EVERYTHING, and so I guess Yuuri both kinda hit on Victor and asked him to come to Hasetsu and coach him before the season started which um. Maybe says some things about how weird-seeming Victor was acting when he came out there? He thought Yuuri wanted him, WOW AMNESIA TROPE, but… he thought Yuuri had just thought better of it, I guess, over time? Without them ever talking about it apparently, TALKING COULD BE A THING.
Anyway wow yeah yep that's a lot; I'm not in love with any of it myself, but tropey as hell.
#yuri on ice stuff#i am nearing the end of this! lol#but i have been quite enjoying#and may add some pretty gifs to my queue.. but that's it
