The Colour Out of Space by H. P. Lovecraft
Cover art by Victor Valla
Lancer Books, November 1971
The whole farm was bathed in this mixed color, unknown and hideous: trees, buildings, and mixed greenery and grass which had not completely turned to the fatal disintegration in the gray. The branches all stretched towards the sky, capped with tongues of filthy fire, and shimmering streams of this same monstrous fire slipped around the ridge beams of the house, the barn, the lean-tos. It was a scene inspired by a vision of Füssli, and over everything else reigned this debauchery of luminous inconsistency, this rainbow out of the world and out of measure of secret poison, which arose from the well - bubbling, palpating, enveloping, extending, scintillating, embracing and malignancy of bubbles in its cosmic and unidentifiable chromaticism.

Heaven Hell Purgatory
read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/YUWiMTv by FennB A road trip. Going to work. Leaving a concert. Hitchhiking across the country. Running from the cops. It doesn't matter why they got in their cars, they all ended up in the same place. They all see the tree. Valla's trying to make the best of an impossibly hard situation, but it's easier with Cas at her side. He had that affect on people. Dean just wanted to spend the final week of summer hanging out with his friends and shielding Sammy from their imploding family. God must have some funny ideas about family therapy because instead of a painfully awkward week long camping trip, they find themselves in a town they can't leave, where the monsters come out at night. Words: 7814, Chapters: 1/?, Language: English Fandoms: Supernatural (TV 2005) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Major Character Death Categories: F/F, F/M, M/M Characters: Original Characters, Castiel (Supernatural), Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Mary Winchester, John Winchester, Jody Mills, Donna Hanscum, Jack Kline, Ellen Harvelle, Jo Harvelle, Kevin Tran, Ash (Supernatural), Linda Tran, Victor Henriksen, Other Character Tags to Be Added, Minor Characters, Gordon Walker Relationships: Castiel/Dean Winchester, John Winchester/Mary Winchester, Castiel (Supernatural) & Original Character(s) Additional Tags: Original Character-centric, Found Family, Trans Character, Queer Characters, obviously, John Winchester is a whore, Jack is Castiel's nephew, mention of cults, not the main town though, dadstiel, A LOT of Dad!Castiel, Car Accidents, Time is a Weird Soup, period inaccurate music, Internalized Homophobia, Transphobia, Homophobia, Alternate Universe - From, Weechesters | Child Winchesters (Supernatural), dean is 18, Sam is 14, Valla and Cas are 20, Dean Needs to Use His Words, Valla should too, but she thinks the miscommunication is funny, Implied/Referenced Sexual Assault, Attempted Sexual Assault read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/YUWiMTv

Nine Stories from The Horror in the Museum and Other Revisions by H. P. Lovecraft and Others
Cover art by Victor Valla
Beagle Books, October 1971
Some tales in this collection were inspired by H. P. Lovecraft, others he revised, two he co-authored – but all bear the mark of the master of primordial terror. The Horror in the Museum –Locked up for the night, a man will discover the difference between waxen grotesqueries and the real thing. The Electric Executioner – Aboard a train, a traveler must match wits with a murderous madman. The Trap – This mirror wants a great deal more than your reflection. The Ghost-Eater – In an ancient woodland, the past comes to life with a bone-crunching vengeance. AND TWENTY MORE STORIES OF UNSPEAKABLE EVIL.
