#Vicinity Simpson's Num-Ti-Jah Lodge

Simpson's Num-Ti-Jah Lodge by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: One day, I hope to have a chance to spend an evening or two at this lodge, but in the meantime I had to take this chance to savor the view of the lodge and front entrance. Mount Jimmy Simpson is the back drop off in the distance.

Bow Peak and Mount Andromache (Black & White, Banff National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I took this image, I was mainly focusing on Bow Peak and the jagged mountains peaks off in the distance. When I later looked at the GPS coordinates and azimuth, I was able to determine that Bow Peak was the main mountain in the image center, but it is Mount Andromache off in the distance, which is on the other side of the highway and Icefields Parkway. Interesting trivia I noted working on the image later.

Simpson's Num-Ti-Jah Lodge Hidden in the Evergreens (Banff National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While watching along the shoreline of Bow Lake, I turned around to catch of glimpse of the lodge. I loved the winter like setting with the evergreen trees all around. What also drew me into this image was the color contrast of the greens of the trees and the red roof. The mountain also added a nice backdrop.

A Look Across the Partially Melting Waters of Bow Lake to Mountains and a Glacier (Banff National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A look to the southwest while walking around the Simpson's Num-Ti-Jah Lodge area. The mountainsides and peaks on either side from left to right are Mount Thompson and Mount Jimmy Simpson. Bow Glacier and the Wapta Icefield are towards the image center. By keeping the exposure more to the right, I was able to capture some of the details in the overcast skies above and bring out some richer colors to the setting on an otherwise blah kind of a day.
