Working on a Pokémon irl blog that’s also an excuse to replay scavio for the billionth time- Florian and Juliana co-run it and it turns the story of the paldea games into a real time liveblog. With a few twists compared to the usual order of things, because if you have the dlc you can play the teal mask the moment your treasure hunt in the main game begins and that might be fun :3

Lockwood and Co. (7/10) I tried reading the books but couldn't read them...also very sad that there's no season 2

Oasis (10/10) I learned so much abt and got better music taste (it's been coming back)

ssoooo, funny thing- i may have pulled a classic Vesper Move™ and just.. refused something because it felt like it was being pushed on me and then went and did it of my own volition at a later point in time. first i'll give my thoughts on Elias Shaw replacing Jack Bright:

i dislike it, as well as the other name rewrites for him (nothing against those who choose to change Bright's name though! we're all comfortable with different things). if you want Jack to go by Elias? go for it, we all have different HCs and AUs and this hurts nobody; just don't shit on those who don't.

thoughts on everything:

sighhhh, Duckman was a good author; not a good person. there's not much i can really say except i understand why people would want to change character Bright's name but for me author ≠ character. Author Bright and Character Bright are different people, despite one being used as an object to help harass others. CB is their own entity and can be modelled by the fandom; name changes could be used as alternate dimensions of each other and/or simply whatever the hell you feel like. headcanons are a thing and CB is pure headcanon at this point because some of the canon stuff is bleh. now this is coming from someone who hasn't done too much looking into it, so take my words with a grain of salt.

The Banu Haqim are the sexiest clan hands down. They are the hotties that don't realize they are hot. They are frothing at the mouth for the sweet crimson honey that all other vampires have. They are dangerous. Everything given to them have made them excellent at killing. They will often court others by death battles to win favor and the risk of them ripping your throat out because they can't contain themselves is always there. Their burning passion also shows in their desire to do what they think is right.

If you think the Banu Haqim are the cop clan, fuck you. They are a clan that stands up for what they believe in just like the Brujah, they just approach it differently. (Of course clans are not people and people make up clans but this goes over so many heads)

I feel people are so scared to enjoy the Banu Haqim because of their cultural start. It's okay to like them people, I promise. If you lean into the Middle-Eastern stuff it's okay. If you avoid it completely that's okay too.

If they were reskinned to be Japanese, people would go nuts for them because they are literally anime characters. They have super speed, they can deflect bullets with their swords, they disappear and reappear, run up walls, walk on water, cast magic during battles.

Sure you can fist of caine someone with other clans but you will never be as cool as the Banu are with killing. It's an art and they've been studying the blade while other kindred were having sex. They were one of the main clans that fought in the Baali wars so they are also like doomslayer.

Put some respect on this clan and please if you are sexually active, sleep with one. They tend to be awkward and need it.

I wonder how Wolfsbane felt during the ending of Keir's chapter 2, considering they burnt their own settlement up above ground before leaving and coming to the marketplace

For many reasons, Wolfsbane despised their community and, the night they left, they started a fire that consumed it entirely. It was their vengeance towards everybody that lived there. Wolfsbane took justice into their own hands and exerted an irreversible punishment. They then fled under the mountain.

In Keir CH2, they've finally found a home. A place they actually like, with people they actually love. And then it burns down, in the same way their first home did, except it's not them behind it this time around.

I wonder if they learned empathy that day.

Mairon to Finrod (info dump time)

I am going to draw Oleander when im not busy but I did want to show why it took me three days to finish up everything

Me diving into the outfit design and slso Finrod's opinion on the boys its in the bottom tho skksks

Age: 29 (they pretend they're older as Vigil)

Weaknesses: when they don't want to do something they'll be stubborn about it, can't jump very high,

Backstory timeline:

Has had Fractum Anima for at least 2 months now (same as all Vespers)

In the surface their job was being part of a group of private guards, they mainly escorted people or goods

Ran away from home due to domestic abuse at the age of 12 before joining the guard for training

Worked there for 17 yrs before they got diagnosed and went under

Met Cirrus they were like okay weird but whatever if there's a lunar ichor alternative we gotta try that, saw Cirrus punishing that dude went nope try again later, they did try again later and got the Cirrus grew bored of you route with Ark

Set the pleasure den on fire by using the lotions and oils that were left in the room. Fun fact if you dry lotion on fabric it's VERY flammable and since they don't have synthetic fibers in this game, plus considering what kind of ingredients they'd be using for lubrication, lotions and oil; it's really easy to set things on fire.

After running away and grabbing a new face, they broke into their old room and left their medallion before returning as 'Finrod'

met Oleander while avoiding the guards because they were feeling antsy

became Vigil and is balancing new work, how do I kill Cirrus thoughts and I might need to steal lunar ichor when it pops up in the market.

Habits & hobbies:

Whenever Finrod gets too overwhelmed they use pain to calm their mind, to them pain is clarity. So, sometimes when Finrod stews on bad memories they'll end up harming themselves in some way to force themselves to calm down

Really, really quiet when it comes to pain, crying or having a crisis, high pain tolerance basically which is good because of their flare ups

Sometimes Finrod doesn't really laugh even though something is funny so they learned to fake laugh as a way to show they find something funny

Whenever something is really funny to them they have the habit of covering their mouth

When they're unsure, nervous or feeling awkward they'll scratch their nose

Doesn't have a tell when they're lying cause they do it so much

Finrod has the habit of bringing everything they think they need with them at all times (matchsticks/lighter/strike-a-light/flint, knife, scissors, needle and thread, bandages, map, a magnifying glass, paper and ink) this is because of having to live on the go for their job. scouting behavior etc.

When Finrod is happy/relaxed/calm they'll start humming or singing this applies to games, when they have their plan all finished and they're confident they'll start singing to themselves

In a fight Finrod will throw themselves at people like a battering ram if needed, not that they're big but that they're good at knowing how to use their momentum and weight.

Likes massaging/caressing/tracing their friends' hands as a way to soothe themselves

Can finish dressing up and arranging all their things in under 4 minutes (habit from being a private guard on the go)

Name stuff:

Chose Mairon for their first half because I thought it would be appropriate since this is their first go at the mountain. Finrod is their second go because of how Finrod died and the betrayal stuff that happened to him.

Outfit Design:

Mairon's Clothes

Wanted it to come off as simple and formal more reminiscent of their time as a private guard. The most color you'll get from them is their belt and matching cuffs. Very neat appearance more npc looking since they want to blend in. They use the standard black mask in the game as well.

Finrod's Clothes

I gave it more color because Finrod had to ditch their old clothes due to the fire, it's a mix of things they grabbed or bought after the fire. They kept their belt and cuff because it's sentimental and also just useful to them. Although they wear more colors It's mostly dark shades so that they don't stand out in shadows. A lot of their body is bandaged and when they met Oleander half their face was bandaged under the mask too.

Opinions on the boys:

REaLLy wants Cirrus dead doesn't care if they get hurt in the process

Slowly growing an obsession over Oleander but they're very good at hiding it, their banter helps calm them down

Likes to mess with Kier otherwise neutral but i think storywise they haven't met

Francesco reminds them of a friend from the surface they bump into each other time to time

headcannon that gale can't fuckin roll his r's. I have no basis for this claim, it just feels Correct. Like imagine tav speaks literally anything but common and they have either rolled r's or like a soft r or throaty(?) r and they try to teach him. He's great at picking up vocab and grammar and such, but his pronunciation is actually terrible. I just think it's cute I love him sm
