cuckoo-among-beasts asked:
“ things must be catastrophic if you’re contacting me at this hour. ”
Tumblr media
He does not usually call on the Uncleaned Realms there are too many feelings there to many memories. It is the scene of a betrayal to a brother that he missed every single day. It is the home of the Sect Leader that many underestimate. Lan Xichen is not one of those people. However, he does humor him but today is not him coming to pick up pieces or him answering a question from Huaisang.
Tumblr media
Xichen had flown on Shuoyue through the night he was not even comfortable sending a message as he might have done under other circumstances. "It is with some concern." he stated seriously. There is no soft smile. No warmth in his body language. It had been lost with the events of the temple. He was still thin and he was recovering from everything that had happened. However, this visit was not about him. Not about his forced exit from seclusion. "I was sent a message by Lan Jingyi an hour ago, and it seems he and Sizhui took some of your cultivators, some of the Jiang Cultivators, Jin Cultivators and Lan Cultivators on a grand Night Hunt, since they are teaching the younger generation. There has been no sign of them since." he said "No trace whatsoever." his tone held the edge of worry.
"I sent a few Spirit Dogs to catch their scent, but it stops in a small glade." he shook his head. "No sign, otherwise, not a sign of any of the juniors." it meant they had to act. He knew that Huaisang did not like to bother but this felt too important to leave him out of it.

(@randomcrowsummon) Caw! Caw!
Itachi took his attention off the small village he was looking down from a cliff when he heard the sound of a crow coming towards him, reaching into his cloak pocket he removed a small bag of birdseed then poured a small handful into his hand to give to the bird.

@smol-sirens-garden asked for a Xmas Starter
"...you realise I just got out of hospital?".
He really shouldn't be that surprised that the group wish to still celebrate the season, despite the feeling of overall dread that hangs over the city as a whole, but getting him to help with decorations? He glanced at the string of lights that sat in his lap, half tempted to strangle Akihiko with them if he made one more smart comment. "If I'd known you guys still had to decorate, I'd have stayed a few extra days. Why not ask the girls or Ken? I'm sure they'd find all this a lot more enjoyable"
Tumblr media
Despite his grumbling though, he's working on untangling the lights, pausing only to give a gentle pet to Koromaru who'd came over to check up on him. He was surprised that it was only the two of them, but in some way also grateful. He wasn't quite prepared to having to deal with everyone fussing over him quite yet.

"Heyyyy Eraser! It's not often I see you in town, man...was starting to think that school locked you in there or something!" With his signature grin firmly in place, Hawks dropped down from a nearby rooftop to land in front of Aizawa, chuckling quietly. "Good to see you though. What are you up to?"
Tumblr media
Aizawa glanced up in surprise at the sound of Hawks's voice, even this close to UA and his patrolling grounds he wasn't used to being recognized. "Hawks." He greeted flatly. "Good to see you too. I just finished up at the school for the day actually." Nedzu had to persuade him to leave for the night, but he wasn't going to admit to that. "I figured I'd get a bite to eat before heading home. What about you?"

Her spirits only continued to lift at Jean's words, the girl smiling brightly as she handed over the wine, deciding just to get the same for herself. She actually didn't drink all too much, having to usually be on alert to survive out in the wilderness on her own like she choose to, but this was a celebration! There may be a lot that she was still rather confused about, but it truly felt as though she was beginning to finally work out the path that she wished to take.
"To overcoming obstacles", she echoed, gently clinking their glasses together before taking a small sip of her drink, eyes sparkling at the taste, "Oh. This is even better than I thought it'd be. This is a mondstadt specialty, isn't it? Are there many other drinks from this nation?". There was so much that she wanted to learn about this place. There had to be a reason as to why this one nation was different from the rest, why her curse didn't affect her here. Maybe Jean could help her? But she didn't wish to make the woman work too hard on her breaks either. In the little time they've known one another, Amos already knew how hard it was to get her to just take a break.
"I may sound a little like a tourist at times, sorry", she smiled weakly, tucking some hair behind her ear, "...to be honest...Mondstadt just fascinates me..."
AMOS:
There really was just something about Mondstadt that was different from anywhere else she had been in the world. It wasn’t that many years now, since she left the abyss and had started to travel. Back then, it was a drive to become stronger, to understand what it was that she was supposed to be fighting for. Something had always felt off to her - and since coming here, since witnessing the world in colour for the first time, that confusion had just increased.  Most people back home seemed to hate Mondstadt, but she still couldn’t understand why. This was supposed to help her clear her mind, yet all it had seemed to do was confuse her even more. “Hmm”, she paused for a moment to think, “I’m not sure if it can be called an occasion as such? I think I may have worked out a few troubles I’ve been having though…that’s worth a small drink or two, don’t you think?”. Jean really was easy yo get along with too, which she was rather surprised with. She wasn’t usually the best at making friends - well human friends.
Tumblr media
“I’m sorry…does that sound weird?”, a small giggle before she walked over to the counter to order their drinks, “What would you like? My treat!”
Tumblr media
The Acting Grand Master smiled in response to her words. “Working out troubles and coming to a positive conclusion… That does seem like a good excuse to celebrate.” Amos didn’t go into what these specific troubles were, and Jean wasn’t going to make her give an answer. She deserved the freedom to say–or not say–whatever she so wished. It was just one part of Mondstadt’s wonderful freedom.
Tumblr media
“Just a glass of dandelion wine, please.” Jean made a mental note to repay Amos back for her kindness at some point. It wasn’t too often that the townspeople invited Jean out for drinks–not because they didn’t want to spend time with her, but simply because they knew the woman was very busy–so Jean thought she should enjoy the break from work. “Then here’s to overcoming obstacles.”

@redemptionbound   sent a bed prompt   //   “ i like falling asleep next to you. “
it had been one of the best night’s sleeps she’s had in a while, just being cuddle up to bucky and his warmth basically causing her to pass out from when her head hit the pillow. letting out a soft groan, she stretched and tuned over to face him, noticing he was already awake. a crooked smile pulled at her lips as she looked up at him, her hand coming up to gently stroke at the stubble of his cheek. ‘ that was my line. ’ she spoke softly and pressed a small kiss to the underside of his chin. ‘ that was the best night’s sleep i’ve had in a while, and i sure as hell don’t wanna get out of bed right now. ’

@targetsbound  because Dumblr was being a little bitch and fucked up ;w;
Tumblr media
In Rock’s mind, befriending her or worrying about her was a bad thing in more ways than one. She only existed for one purpose: to live, fight, and die. She could destroy everything and everyone in her path if she wanted to, even Trident. That alone was a reason to not get too friendly with her. So many others had gotten hurt because of her, even her human, and Rock wasn’t sure she’d ever forgive herself for that. That’s why she had to find a way to get out of this place, so she could continue fighting for her human, and make things up to her.
“No... it didn’t go so well.. I thought I  got back, but then it seems.. I woke up and  I was back here, almost like a dream... “

It was past three in the morning as Castiel sat at one of the wooden tables inside the library section of the bunker looking through some news reports on Sam's computer to see if he could find himself and the Winchester brothers a case, as the angel continued scrolling down the webpage he was currently on, something caught his attention and he clicked the link that would take him to a full description of the police report, apparently the victim had their insides removed when they were attacked and the town's sheriff had marked it as a vicious animal attack, but the angel knew there was no way that an ordinary animal would be able to neatly remove all the victim's eternal organs from their body, and Castiel decided to look through the men of letters files and lore books to see if he could find a creature that removes peoples organs after killing them.
Once Castiel bookmarked the police report on Sam's computer so they could take a look at it once the Winchester brothers woke up, he closed the youngest Winchester brother's laptop then walked over to the bookcase on the far right then took the first book he saw from the top shelve then began to read through it not taking his eyes off it until his ears picked up some noise coming from the farside of the bunker where the kitchen and bedrooms were located.

“you didn’t add anything else to the food, did you?”
Itachi slowly turned his attention away from the stew he was preparing at the stove when he heard Jiraiya ask if he added anything else to the food before serving it to him at the table. "Well…I did add some more black pepper and a few more spices because when I first tried some on my own while cooking it tasted a little bland." the Uchiha explained while he walked over to the kitchen table with his own bowl. " Why do you think I added too much pepper and spices this time around?" he asked before sitting down at the table across from the sannin.

We Call Upon You Who Have Gone...
They had returned only recently to home--Wei Ying was a part of the Lan Sect, the Clan itself by marriage his past self would have died but his past self did not understand his love for Lan Zhan at the time or what all that would entail and mean. Today, he had lured Lan Xichen to at least visit with him at his and Lan Zhan's home. Lan Zhan had a sect meeting to attend and he had been asked to watch over the Juniors and his brother. Wei Ying would have gone with him but he suspected it was going to be petty bickering and he didn't do well with control of his mouth.
The main room had been cleared of everything but a sitting table. A circle of protection on the floor had been drawn already in his own blood. He would take no chances with the life of his brother in law. He had added talisman's as well. There was no hiding what he planned from his husband and Lan Zhan knew, he trusted him. That was the warmest feeling in the world. He was not dressed lax in the simple robes he wore when in the Jingshi. His black over red was donned. He held a simple bracelet of charms, this was for Xichen. It would protect him in the summoning. He also had a unique looking piece of shaped jade set in the circle. It was the one the junior's had, had a misadventure with a few weeks back.
He tweaked it for his needs tonight.
"I have all the things I need tonight." he said as he motioned his brother in law into the home. His bare feet peeked from the red and black robes as he moved about. " The tea is already ready and once you are centered we can begin." this was Wei Ying's element this was what he knew how to do and do well. There was no hesitance no playfulness in his motions. He took this very seriously because so many things could go wrong he had double checked everything in fact he had Lan Zhan check his work that morning, neither had left for breakfast until they were sure it was safe. There was a charm hanging from his belt meant to break if something went wrong. It would immediately end any Empathy he was using. His wedding band glowed brightly in the dim light reflecting his own emotions at the moment.
Only once Lan Xichen was within did he settle into his circle. " You have your questions ready, You are going to play Inquire, and I am going to augment your playing like I do A-Zhan's okay." he murmured "I can make the spirit come to me." they both knew the Red Blademaster. Wei Ying had a deeper feeling that Nie Mingjue would answer his sworn brother. The other side of his plan was to make Jin Guangyao manifest as well. It was within his power and he had already been inside the man's head when he had forced his nightmares into form. Wei Ying could and would find him if he was dead. He did not think the man died, they had found no sign of a body. There were those who said--Oh he was crushed to death, and Wei Ying did not think so. Death, was not so simple to hold some people down. He had hopes that if he could prove to Lan Xichen he was not dead, that would give him some small amount of hope to return more fully. That he had not killed his sworn brother.  Wei Ying could be sneaky when it came to it but he was very family oriented--Lan Xichan did not quiet understand the lengths he would go to for those he loved.

@ghoulguise liked this post for a starter
Often times Bede loathed when individuals came so deep into the Tangle. It’s always dangerous, there’s a lot here that could hurt an ordinary person if they aren’t careful enough. But being a gym leader himself, he has seen the strength that such individuals must carry to maintain their positions. As such, when he saw the ghost child among the spirits, a sight that would most likely be terrifying to most, he was anything but angry. Quietly, Bede watched from a distance, drawing the fairy types of the area to him just like the ghosts seemed to be drawn to the other. He just wanted to observe... Just a little bit.
“Normally I’d ask someone why they decided to come out to the changeling tree but...” He finally spoke up, approaching quietly, his posture relaxed and calm. “You seem more than capable of residing in harmony with the spirits of this place. As to be expected of the ghost type gym leader.” A hum was on his voice, as far as he knew this was the only place ghost type pokemon really made themselves known... Bede personally theorized this had something to do with what the Unseelie Court liked to do to humans they didn’t like, but that was just his own personal theory.
“I suppose you came out here to think? Or to train mayhap?” He felt only slightly on edge, knowing full well that his cottage was only a three minute hike from the Changeling tree, but all the same he didn’t suspect anything to rough of the younger. He seemed kind enough after all.

@hero7of4oblivia
Wicke felt a bit out of place in Oblivia, having never been to the islands before. Still, the Aqua resort seemed like a nice place thus far. Certainly, it was a good location for a vacation. The entirety of Oblivia, at least what she’d seen of the islands thus far, all seemed nice. Still, it had been awhile since she’d ventured out of the familiar atmosphere of Aether Paradise at all, and, even then, she remained in the Alola region.
Still, this was a vacation, and she was determined to enjoy herself, despite how out of her depths she felt. Of course, she could tell herself it was a vacation all she wanted, but the fact remained that, when she saw a snubbull with a wound on its face, her first instinct was to run over to it and try to help, on vacation or not.

It was hard, very hard, being seperated from family is one thing but knowing one of them will never come back is another.
She and a few other freed widows were in search of the rest, they were in the middle of Pakistan trying to extract another cluster of widows through the information Natasha had previously grabbed back in the red room, when the blip happened. Yelena was used to hearing screams within amongst gunfire, but these were a different kind of scream, more blood curdling. she quickly wiped to look towards the others within her group to notice a few had started to....disappear. she stared at the dust, floating between the streams of sun and into nothing. those...those were her teammates. she hadn’t realised that she was exposed as a bullet went straight through her shoulder, collapsing to the ground behind a stone pillar, she desperately applied pressure to her arm stemming the bleeding.
There was a twinge within her, some sort of entity pulling at her energy and it made her feel weak. she tried to push herself up from the floor with her right hand but stumbled back as it just began to disappear. she watched in horror as her arm fully disintegrated, then her legs and then soon the rest of her body until there was nothing left. Yelena had made sure to whisper out her last words before succumbing to whatever it was that was taking her.
Мне очень жаль, вдовы.
A sudden jolt forced the blonde awake, she was in the same spot but everything was a little different, the building she was in looked a lot more rundown, foliage grew wildly around the roof. she quickly poked her head over the box she was hiding behind, the wound in her shoulder screaming at the sudden movement. ‘ Блядь. ’ she gritted out, her hand coming back to apply the pressure needed to the wound, again. what the fuck just happened? her gaze fell to the other widows beside her with equally as confused expressions, but she noticed a few others had gone missing. ‘ Samantha, are you there? ’ she spoke quietly into her comm, trying to not make the enemy aware that they were there. ‘ y-yelena? ’ the blonde pinched her brow at the woman’s clearly bewildered tone. ‘ you’re alive? ’
Yelena peeked from behind the pillar and noticed that they were in the clear, signing a quick. move out, to the widows beside her. it wasn’t safe for them to be in there, and yelena wanted to figure out what the hell had gone on. ‘ Of course I'm alive, where are you? we’re heading to the extraction point on the north west corner of town. ’ the blonde spoke quickly into the comm, as another widow tended to the bullet wound on her shoulder. ‘ Yelena, there is no one there. It's been five years. ’ Samantha’s soft voice spoke into the comms and all the women looked at one another with a mix of fear and confusion. ‘ w-what do you mean by five years? ’ Mariam, another widow, stuttered. ‘ There was an attack, some alien called Thanos wiped out half of the population. ’ Samantha paused, a quiet sniffle could be heard before she spoke again. ‘ I thought you were all dead. i came looking for you, but it was only me and i was nearly over powered by the others, i needed to leave. ’
five years
FIVE YEARS
There was a roaring in Yelena’s ears as she stared out into the golden sands before them, a sob beside her brought her back, shaking her head she wrapped an arm around Mariam, letting the other woman rest her head against her shoulder. ' Yelena? ’ the blonde shook her head, clearing her throat before answering. ‘ go ahead.’ ‘ I was just saying I can get another jet to come and pick you all up, or if you wanted to call natasha? ’ At the mention of her sister's name, Yelena quickly grabbed her phone from her pocket, dialing the number Natasha had given her. it kept going to voicemail, yelena realised if it was an alien attack then her sister would be busy dealing with it and told samantha to pick her and the others up instead.
10 hours later
They all had arrived safely to their base in Saint Petersburg, something Melina had put together to keep them safe. she hadn’t expected for the other widow to pull her into a bone crushing hug, but it really was welcomed, the same going for alexi. There was still no answer from Natasha and it made the blonde antsy, she paced her room not being able to sit down. ‘ c’mon. c’mon. it doesn’t take this long to kick alien ass, nat. please. ’ After a couple minutes of trying she decided to leave it for a little while and laid down on her bed. The pain in her shoulder still throbbed but it really wasn’t something she cared about, she needed to make sure Natasha was okay.
Yelena finally drifted off to sleep to then be awoken by the shrill tone of her phone, the blonde jumped up from her bed and stared down at it, her head tilting as she didn’t recognise the number. picking it up she spoke hesitantly. ‘ hello? ’ her broke raised at the mention of the man’s name. steve rogers, don’t let alexi see this number. ‘ This is Yelena, correct?’ ‘ Yes, this is her. ’ a gnawing began to form in the base of her stomach, why would he need to call her? Where was natasha? ‘ I'm sorry to have to say this by phone, but natasha- ’ she could hear the pain in his voice. ‘ d-don’t say it. ’ she snapped, tears burning in her eyes. ‘ Please, please don’t tell me what you’re about to tell me. ’ her voice shook, a lump forming in her throat. ‘ Natasha sacrificed herself to help win this war. ’ she was gone. she promised to not leave me again. ‘ she-she’s gone? ’ her voice was a whisper. ‘ Yes, I'm sorry. ’ Yelena tightened her grip on the phone, crushing it between her fingers before throwing it off to the side.
She stood there for a moment, body in shock and not daring to move. Natasha couldn’t be gone, she couldn’t be. there was no way she could be gone, she was too strong she couldn’t die. a shrill scream filled her ears, as her body worked on autodrive, her hands grabbed at furniture throwing it against the walls, chairs and tables soon turned into debris as she rampaged around her room trying to get whatever she felt out. she noted the blood at her fingertips but did not care, she needed to get this pain out. her voice had gone hoarse from the screaming, which was basically a silent scream as she collapsed to the ground, not caring as the splintered wood cut against her body.
A strong pair of arms picked the woman up from the evidence of her rampage, she didn’t bother fighting knowing it was alexi. she wondered if he knew. He settled her against the medical bed, concern flashing across his face as he looked down at her. If only she could see herself, then she could see what grief looked like. her gaze watched as alexia began to walk away as he was shooed out by the medical staff, but her hand darted out to grab at his. ‘ she-she’s gone. ’ she croaked out. his face fell, pain flared in his eyes as he nodded at her before pulling away and leaving. turning back to face the ceiling, yelena felt numb.
it was real to me too
Natasha's words repeated in her head as a lone tear fell from her eyes. Before she knew Natasha was out there, she could just google her name and there was an update, but now...now she was gone, gone because she needed to save the world. Once the medical team had left and Yelena was on her own, the blonde let out a sob, her hand coming up to stifle the noise. she curled herself into the fetal position, her hand still over her mouth to try and stop the sobs. ‘ Why? Why did you leave me? you promised you’d come back. ’ she took a deep breath, letting her hand fall from her mouth to beside her. her gaze fell upon the door as she pursed her lips and whistled their tune, just hoping this was a sick joke.
              ‘ Please, come back. ’
