Things should be easier now, right? It may have happened somewhat randomly and he may have Amadeus to thank for a lot of it too - but Taru was now safe. She had the time and space to heal after everything that she'd been through, and yet, why did that make him feel so...empty? Don't get him wrong. He knew that he was quite happy for his sister, glad that she could finally get to learn about the good in this world, not just the bad. Happy that she and their father could start to patch things up too...but where did that leave him? He wasn't one that usually allowed for his thoughts to remain so selfish for any length of time, a hand reaching out to allow the rain to fall against his cold fingers, the shield that he'd summoned for protection long gone. He could sense the chill settling in, and in some ways it felt like a just punishment. Why was he thinking on such things? Taru was safe, that's all that mattered. What he did now, it didn't much matter. Keep studying Alchemybut why? He no longer had a reason for wishing to transverse the Abyss...

Train to become a Knight? In a nation that wasn't his home? Where even was his home? Looking at his vision, you'd think it was Mondstadt, and perhaps that could be considered as the truth. He'd spent the majority of the last three years here after all, had learned so much from the welcoming nature of the Knights - but before that? It was constant moving, constant fleeing from his father's past shadows.

"...this is so stupid", he whispered out into the darkening skies, tilting his head back to look at the thick grey clouds overhead, as well as allow the chill of water to run down the back of his neck. It was only then, that he noticed he hadn't been quite as alone as he thought he'd been, Eiji spinning on his heel - after all, who would follow him all the way here, and in the pouring rain at that!? "It's - you?", he blinked, his confusion plain to see. Why would the Traveller, no wait Aether was his name, right? What was he doing all the way up here? Slowly, he allowed his drawn sword to vanish in a golden shower of geo energy, "Sorry...I thought it was only me here".

"It wasn't!" And it was more than her just trying to get out of something she did, too. She had been exploring outside of the Mondstadt wall when she heard it herself, and so, she had gone to check-

"Mr. Kaeya, there's people blowing up some ruins nearby." She looked more than concerned, as she looked up at him. "When I went to look, they tried catching me! I couldn't find miss Outrider, so I came looking for you." She was trying to find anyone, really. She knew what they were doing was bad, and it needed to be dealt with as soon as possible. "Please help me, Mr. Kaeya. They shouldn't be doing that, I just know it!"

"Well, given everything that you've been through, that makes sense." The bard spoke moreso naturally than anything else. While he did have a drink in his hand, they were in the wilds of the place he ruled so freely. He always felt more comfortable not being in the tavern whenever he spoke the truth. It made it less likely for people to overhear and make their usual gossip. "You always have a place here. Everyone you've met on your journey and those you've helped will always have your back. Myself included. If you need some time away from everything, I can show you some great spots no one knows about around here."

Realization that I never shared my newest OCs from this year, at least on most of my accounts / v \ ) Anyway I got into Genshin Impact since last year, and I'm in it deep enough to make a couple fan characters.

First one is Shuili, older half-sister of my adepti duo. I made her before Candace’s reveal, but her kit was me basically going "If Genshin won't give us a Hydro Claymore or Shielder yet then I'll make one myself--"

The 2nd one is her younger half-brother, Huojin. He's heavily based off the huodou, but is otherwise ur very typical on-field Pyro DPS -- just with a bit of extra utility so he can work off-field too.

Overall, I wanted to wait until I gave both my OCs a proper color test / finalized their designs, but with Genshin's complex art direction, I'll need more time for that. Hopefully I can explore their characters more tho, even outside of Genshin.

She wasn’t entirely sure what she was meant to expect, but she ended up getting something anything but expected. Mondstadt was the region of alcohol, well known for the Dawn Winery and multiple taverns within the city. But it felt almost as if she had ended up arriving into the Angel’s Share at the wrong time. It felt... Odd, in a sense, and she felt extremely uncomfortable.

She seemed to be given freedom, but at what price?

“I-I think so... I’m sorry about this.” She spoke quietly, feeling herself take a quiet breath. “I don’t know why I felt so uncomfortable, it just felt... Wrong...”

She was hoping he would understand.

introducing a new fella let's go

introducing shou! shou is a nonbinary 18-year-old with a prosthetic left leg who can control sand that they bleed on. their personality can be best described as 'pre-redemption gaara' but is more willing to listen to their parental figures and actually gets sleep.

in shou's genshin verse, they were involved in the same experiments dottore ran on collei, but unlike her, they weren't able to get the remains of the god sealed properly in them--the seal on their forehead is remnant of what their adoptive father tried to do for them. while they're generally unpleasant to be around with a tendency to become borderline homicidal at the drop of a hat, they find peace in being in sumeru's vast deserts, the sands of which they can control with the power of the god that was sealed in them and the aid of a pyro vision. in terms of power, they're somewhat stronger than collei before her god residue was sealed away. while they're not directly involved with the fatui, they still suffer from what was done to them at their hands, and holds a severe grudge to this very day.

in shou's naruto verse, they more appear in boruto than anything else--a child born with magnet release in the harsh sands of the land of wind, used as a human weapon by mercenaries before being rescued by kankuro at the age of ten. there appears to be something trapped within shou from the seal on their forehead, but it's hard to tell what, and because of that it has caused quite a bit of distress for both shou and the people around them. they're quite powerful, on par with shinki, however they're much more bloodthirsty and have a tendency to go for the kill.

shou likes sand, glass art, and destroying their enemies. they dislike overly cheerful people, fog, and sour things.

"If I use the bow as a type of catalyst I can focus the healing winds around the weapon and then while the weapon turns it causes the breeze to be pushed out like this! I actually came up with this when I fell down a ditch once", she sighed, feeling her cheeks slightly heat up, but now that she started telling the story, she decided to continue, "I twisted my ankle rather badly and there was no way of getting out there without climbing. So, after a small moment of mild panic, I thought on how to improve my healing winds - and this was the result!", she giggled slightly, "N-not that it's that impressive or anything...but I do want to be useful to those around me!". Her gaze once more fell to the ruins nearby, watching the way in which the winds still seemed to cling to some sides of the structures, her chest seeming to tighten slightly, making her rest one hand over her heart. What was it about this nation that held back the curse? What was it that made her feel as though she was finally home? "Oh? I'm actually from Sumeru! But I travel an awful lot...though this was the first time I've stayed in Mondstadt long enough to explore like this. It really is such a pretty land..."

"Don't worry, I get it." It was meant to be a tease more than anything. If Morax knew he actually spoke of him like this, he'd never hear the end of it. Not that he wanted to hear from him at all, if it could be helped-

They butt heads too often.

"He's a lot more like a old man, trying to be wise and not really put much emotion into how he reacts to stuff. It makes what he has to say feel stiff most of the time, even if he tends to be right." In other words, he makes it hard to connect with other people, probably on purpose.

"Oh no, you caught me. Whatever shall I do?" She was clearly being sarcastic about it, knowing something about the bottle she had taken from the table that he didn't. It wasn't her table, and she didn't pay for the bottle in of itself. However...

She offered it back, a blank look on her face as she used a single hand on the rim of it to put it in his hands. An empty bottle that once held alcohol. It no longer did so, so the drink was long gone and the patron just left. "What a crime, I'm a terrible person. Celestia, just end me already, for I am a shame to the walking world."
