TENEBRAE (1982) Grade: C-
These movies are not usually my type. It was hammy & the basic instinct type of plots usually don't appeal much to. me. I could see someone taking the plot and do a modern remake.

It’s time for another 1980s feature from director Dario Argento with a return to the Giallo sub-genre. The film is Tenebrae – or Tenebre (original title) or Ténèbres (French) – and features Anthony Franciosa, John Saxon, and Daria Nicolodi. Argento was inspired by a series of incidents that saw an obsessed fan telephone the director to criticize him for the damaging psychological effects of his previous work. The telephone calls culminated in death threats towards Argento, who channeled the experience into the writing of Tenebrae with a double helix of a plot.
At the time of this writing, Tenebrae is available to stream from Wicked Horror TV, Shudder, Kanopy, and Plex. It is also available on Blu-Ray and 4K Ultra HD from Synapse Films.
This is the Decades of Horror Grue Crews’ xth encounter with Argento. Here are their other Argento episodes if you care to check them out.

"Justin Kürzel’s UK-Germany sci-fi thriller Morning, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Laura Dern, Noah Jupe and Naomi Ackie, is set to shoot in Germany after receiving €2m from FFF Bayern’s funding programme for international theatrical features and series.
The project is based on a screenplay by Screen Star of Tomorrow Sam Steiner and is produced by Cumberbatch and his partners Leah Clarke and Adam Ackland through their UK company SunnyMarch with Maximilian Leo and Jonas Katzenstein of Cologne-based augenschein Filmproduktion and actress-producer Veronica Ferres of Munich’s Construction Film, in co-production with Laura Dern and Jayme Lemons’ Santa Monica-based Jaywalker Pictures.
Around two thirds of the film’s shoot will take place at locations in and around Munich."
Here's hoping this is the very last project with Adam Ackland, that Benedict actually makes money for all his hard work, for once AND that Ben has security or a handler so that he is not subjected to abuse like he was under Campion. These parasites are everywhere.

The impulse had become irresistible. There was only one answer to the fury that tortured him. And so he committed his first act of murder. He had broken the most deep-rooted taboo, and found not guilt, not anxiety or fear, but freedom. Any humiliation which stood in his way could be swept aside by the simple act of annihilation: Murder.

This week I’ve mainly been focusing on my art essay. I’ve written a lot more (though it still needs to be edited), but have a few more paragraphs to write and I need to develop some of the current ones further, including the analysis of some of my own work. Throughout the essay I have discussed artists who have inspired my work the most (Todd Forsgren, Veronica Steiner, Joel Penkman for example) and have talked about how they have influenced me. I have also written about environmental activists who have inspired me, though I still need to work on this paragraph and add in images of the awareness posters I have produced so far. The essay is supposed to be illustrated and so I have included images of the artists’ work that has been the most influential to me. I have also included images of my own work that I feel relates most with the artist studied.
