Cultural Heritage Class (CHC) camp in Narayanashrama Tapovanam (26-May-2024)

In a vibrant gathering of 43 children, the resonating theme of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" set the stage for a day filled with enlightenment and camaraderie.

The morning commenced at 9:30 am in the serene ambiance of Vijnana Bhavan. The children were shown a PowerPoint presentation titled 'The Story of Ashram'. Poojya Swamiji graced the occasion with profound insights, responding to the eager inquiries of the young minds. One child sought to unravel the journey of Swamiji from being a disciple to where he is now, while another expressed her lingering doubt - What is God? nobody has seen him, so is it only a supernatural power?

Following this enlightening session, Ma, with her gentle eloquence in Malayalam, shared heartfelt reflections on how blessed the children are, being part of such an enriching session. Her words resonated deeply as she expressed her own aspirations as a child to embody goodness.

After a hearty lunch, crowned by the delectable payasam dessert, the children were grouped into six teams, engaging in collaborative activities, meant to make them understand valuable lessons in synergy, cooperation and teamwork.

The culmination of the day was marked by a drawing assignment, prompting the children to illustrate their daily essentials on paper. Amidst animated discussions, the canvases came alive with symbols of interconnectedness — stars, sun, moon, trees, rivers, roads, hospitals and so on. Through their creations, the profound message echoed loud and clear: our existence is interwoven with the fabric of the universe, each component indispensable to our very being.

Poojya Swamiji, Nutan Swamiji, and Ma listened to their explanations, as they examined each artwork with care and appreciation. With the distribution of prasada and a jovial tea session, the day drew to a close, leaving hearts brimming with gratitude and souls enriched with the wisdom of unity.

Centuries ago one of the most popular Sanskrit poets Bhartrhari, while highlighting the specialty of Yoga, said:

धैर्यं यस्य पिता क्षमा च जननी शान्तिश्चिरं गेहिनी

सत्यं सूनुरयं दया च भगिनी भ्राता मनः संयमः।

शय्या भूमितलं दिशोSपि वसनं ज्ञानामृतं भोजनं

एते यस्य कुटिम्बिनः वद सखे कस्माद् भयं योगिनः।।

Meaning that by regularly practising Yoga, a person can imbibe some very good qualities like courage which protects like a father, forgiveness as possessed by a mother & mental peace which becomes a permanent friend. Through regular practise of Yoga truth becomes our child, mercy our sister, self-control our brother, the earth becomes our bed & knowledge satiates our hunger.

The International Yoga Day 2023 will be celebrated on the official theme, “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, which also represents as “One Earth, One Family, One Future.” This theme emphasises the healthy being of every individual irrespective of any discrimination with the regular practice of Yoga.

Wali Kota Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara bertindak sebagai Inspektur Upacara yang digelar di Lapangan Lumintang Denpasar, Rabu (17/8/2023). Hadir dalam kesempatan tersebut Wakil Wali Kota Denpasar, I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, Ketua DPRD Kota Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Gede, Wakil Ketua DPRD Kota Denpasar, A.A Ketut Asmara Putra, Kapolresta Denpasar, Kombes Pol. Bambang Yugo Pamungkas, Kajari Denpasar, Rudy Hartono, Kepala Staf Kodim 1611/Badung, Letkol Inf. Pedro Soares Sarmento serta Perwakilan Pengadilan Negeri Denpasar. Rangkaian Peringatan Detik-Detik Proklamasi di Kota Denpasar berlangsung sebagaimana umumnya. Diawali suara sirene serentak, Teks Proklamasi Kemerdekaan dibacakan Ketua DPRD Kota Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Gede, dilanjutkan dengan Pengibaran Bendera Sang Merah Putih oleh Paskibraka Kota Denpasar. Usai pelaksanaan Apel, Wali Kota Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara turut menyerahkan Penghargaan kepada Kapolresta Denpasar, Kombes. Pol. Bambang Yugo Pamungkas, atas komitmen serta dedikasinya dalam menjaga keamanan dan ketertiban wilayah Kota Denpasar melalui Aplikasi Polisi Banjar Hebat. Selain itu juga turut diserahkan Dokumen Putusan dan Akta Pencatatan Sipil bagi Penerima Layanan Bantuan Hukum Masyarakat Miskin. Wali Kota Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara didampingi Wakil Wali Kota Denpasar, I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa mengatakan, HUT ke-78 Proklamasi Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia ini merupakan momentum untuk mengimplementasikan spirit kebersamaan serta Vasudhaiva Khutumbakam yang bermakna kita semua bersaudara. Hal ini menjadi kunci dalam merealisasikan tema besar yakni Terus Melaju Untuk Indonesia Maju. Lebih lanjut dijelaskan, dalam HUT ke-78 RI tahun 2023 ini, sejatinya ada beberapa hal penting yang diamanatkan Presiden Joko Widodo. Hal ini utamanya tentang estafet dan keberlanjutan pembangunan yang memberikan kemanfaatan bagi masyarakat. "Tema ini hendaknya dimplementasikan dengan membangun sinergitas lintas sektor bersama stakeholder di Kota Denpasar sehingga mampu menciptakan pembangunan berkelanjutan yang memberikan kemanfaatan optimal bagi masyarakat luas," ujar Jaya Negara. Jaya Negara mengaku bersyukur rangkaian Peringatan Detik-Detik Proklamasi Kemerdekaan ke-78 Republik Indonesia di Kota Denpasar berlangsung khidmat dan lancar. Hal ini tak lepas dari komitmen semua pihak, terutama perangkat apel dan peserta apel yang tetap berdiri tegak meski diguyur hujan. “Yang pertama patut kita syukuri, dimana kita bisa melaksanakan upacara ini dengan lancar dan khidmat, kedua yang patut kita syukuri adalah pemerintahan secara nasional telah berjalan dengan baik, hal itu dapat kita lihat dari angka inflasi yang terus menurun dan pertumbuhhan ekonomi bangsa terus meningkat,” ujar Jaya Negara. Dalam kesempatan yang baik ini, Jaya Negara mengajak semua pihak untuk memanfaatkan momentum HUT ke-78 Proklamasi Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia ini menjadi ajang untuk meningkatkan optimisme dengan bersatu dan bersinergi. But humans are flawed, even the Supreme Gods had to take human form and make mortal mistakes to show us that people make mistakes. That's who we are supposed to be. It's not upto us. It's upto the divine powers to control our destiny.

All we have is free choice which is the essence of every religion or belief system. Heaven and Hell are man-made concepts. Good and evil resides in everyone. Organized religion is the greatest evil we face in today's day and age.

Divinity lies inside every human being. Those who look for him outside are grossly misinformed.
