Your latest post has finally spurred me into asking you this. Based on his bio, his intros with Liu Kang, and everything else you brought up, what do you think about Tomas being the traitor instead of Bi-Han? Or, if NRS really wanted to go all out with the 3D era references in MK1, both Bi-Han and Tomas being traitors, and being the New Era Noob-Smoke? Or Sub-Smoke, rather, due to Bi-Han being Sub-Zero.

Tomas being the traitor for sure would create more surprising plot twist than what we got with not-so-subtly choice of Bi-Han, as Sub-Zero’s betrayal was hinted in his and Scorpion’s biographies way before the full story mode was revealed:

[...] Under his leadership, the Lin Kuei will come out of the shadows and fight for its place as one of Earthrealm’s great nations.

and

But Sub-Zero's unprecedented moves to cast off Lin Kuei's traditional duties have frozen Scorpion’s enthusiasm. He fears that he may one day have to battle his brother for control of the Lin Kuei's legacy.

A hint also supported by the earliest officially shared Liu Kang vs Sub Zero intro dialogues, especially the “Your actions cost lives, Bi-Han!” and “Earthrealm isn't yours to rule”.

So, in all fairness, the most surprising choice of the Lin Kuei subplot wasn’t Bi-Han’s betrayal per se but rather showing us mainly the already tense relationship between brothers, which in my opinion didn’t fully use the emotional impact the shattered brotherhood could otherwise have had. Of course, the game's storyline is a specific medium and with such a big cast, there is limited space to explore in depth characters’ psyche and thus some plots feel rushed to fit the greater scheme of things. Granted, the storyline and intro dialogues provided us enough nuances to know the conflict between Lin Kuei brothers is not so one-dimensional, even if so far only Bi-Han’s desire for freedom and independence is flashed out, while Scorpion & Smoke’s desire to uphold tradition seems to be solely the “good guys” thing. And don’t get me wrong, characters who have a strong moral sense are cool and inspiring on their own, but Kuai Liang and Tomas through the story mode have never given any real counterargument why the tradition should be upheld in the first place or how it benefit the clan, besides it was their father’s teaching.

(And I do find the “Lin Kuei only serves” mindset disturbing, when one remembers the clan members are trained from childhood to fight, to kill, and if needed to die for Earthrealm and doesn’t that resemble the Umgadi system whose members are denied any ties to family as their  main purpose is to serve the Royal Family? There is a huge difference between an adult person choosing on their own to dedicate their life to service in greater good - a very admirable trait! - and teaching children they are destined to be someone’s servants, because it’s the great “honor” and “tradition” that must be upheld. Just saying.)

Now, Bi-Han as the traitor (more or less) makes sense within the provided storyline, especially if we add the expanded knowledge about his motives and goals coming from intro dialogues. In contrast, Tomas is pretty much sidelined through the course of story mode and really, if not for the direct ties to adoptive brothers and intro dialogues, he could as well not be in the story at all. 

If the story played as it played, I fear Smoke’s choice to betray would not have that big impact, unless the truth about Liu Kang’s role as Keeper of Time came out (and with that his part in Smoke’s family death) or Shang Tsung managed to play on his desire to be seen as a true Lin Kuei while he is constantly denied the respect and omitted by other characters. Bi-Han is just a tip of the iceberg in that regard (and yet not once he denied Tomas right to consider himself the son of the late grandmaster or even his or Kuai Liang’s brother). In all fairness, Liu Kang contributes a lot to how Tomas is treated, as Fire Lord, despite the close relationship to Lin Kuei and being implied to be responsible for orphaning Tomas, literally did not acknowledge him in any meaningful way through the whole story mode. He has never called Smoke by his name, nor called him alongside the Sub-Zero and Scorpion (chapter 1 & 2) and despite Tomas’ fulfilling his duty to Earthrealm and helping in direct way to established Shirai Ruy, his deeds are still omitted in favor of Kuai Liang. 

Frankly, despite being one of Grandmaster’s sons, Smoke is never taken into account when it comes to holding any title within Lin Kuei, as Kuai Liang is treated as obviously choice, both as the next Grandmaster of Lin Kuei (after Bi-Han) and the new leader of Shirai Ryu (and let’s not forget Scorpion was the strategist/leader during battle, even if technically this was his first war and there were more experienced characters, including Ermac/king Jerrod.) Kuai Liang is a great warrior, no question about that, but it really feels like Tomas is acknowledged only by his adoptive brothers. 

So, if played right, Shang Tsung (or even Bi-Han?) could talk Tomas into joining “the Liu Kang’s opposition”, as he holds resentment for Fire Lord over the death of his family (though that one works best AFTER the big revelation). Intro dialogues also provided information there was a time he did not consider being adopted into Grandmaster’s family as anything good, which of course is understandable, considering it was Grandmaster's men who killed Tomas’ mother and sister for a simple accidental trespassing on Lin Kuei land. 

Not to mention he was not adopted because of compassion per se, but because of Grandmaster’s guilt. Considering how Tomas went from disliking the man and/or situation he was forced into to almost blindly holding to “tradition this”, “traditions that” mindset, I wonder if we should consider him as a potential victim of Stockholm Syndrome?

Also, what is interesting, Smoke looked up to Bi-Han ("And to think I once idolized you."). Granted, we don’t know how young Sub-Zero acted back then, besides being cold to Tomas, as intro dialogue pointed out, but I think there is something to say about Tomas idolizing the one brother that openly challenged their Father’s ideas. We have of course only evidence of Bi-Han’s criticizing Lin Kuei old politics in current story mode however as Sub-Zero’s “frustrations ran deep”  it is possible he was outspoken about the issue before. So it makes sense to assume the idolizing happened back in the days when Tomas (most likely) resented the man that decided to adopt him after his men murdered his mother and twin sister over a trivial matter - and maybe Sub-Zero’s headbutting with Father was what impressed Tomas the most? As in, however cold Bi-Han was, at least he didn’t pretend everything was okay?

Smoke’s BIO gives him the LOYALTY as a main theme

- and despite what happened between the brothers, he still hope for reunion with Bi-Han and refuses to give up his estranged brother to anyone outside Shirai Ryu for judgment, so we can’t say he and Bi-Han had never been on good terms. 

Frankly, the visual side of story mode adds a lot to this feeling, as with exception of like two scenes (awaiting for Liu Kang/meeting room and joining Kuai Liang and Bi-Han after Sub-Zero’s fight with Nitara and Ermac), Smoke is the one standing at Bi-Han’s right side, not Kuai Liang - the de facto second-in-line of succession. 

I won’t lie, this is pretty surprising detail - and who knows, maybe Smoke is supposed to have soome importance after all and/or is the middle child, thus occupying the more symbolic (prestige) place, the same as Bi-Han was usually placed at Liu Kang’s right side, implying his higher status as Grandmaster.

I, for one, would love to see Tomas either betraying Liu Kang on his own or joining Bi-Han, so we could have a new take on the Noob-Smoke team, this time without Smoke being cyberized and cut from memories but also challenging Keeper of Time's choices by characters that weren't the main villains in previous timeline(s). My heart would be bleeding for Kuai Liang as his friendship with Tomas is a great part of Lin Kuei lore but then Tomas, story wise, had valid reasons to resent Liu Kang (death of family, never being acknowledged). I wouldn’t cross out the possibility of Smoke  joining Bi-Han in later events (or pretending to join to spy on him, because you know, Tomas is the master of stealth, so he should be good at that stuff) but I fear NRS is not gonna give him any meaningful focus anytime soon. Johnny was joking how Tomas “got the wholesome sidekick thing down cold.” but looking at MK1’s story mode this is not a joke, just a truth.

Variant Madness

You thought he was your Mark.

Omni Mark and Shiesty Mark 2V1 you.

Breathing in, you savour the fresh air of the mountain trail you find yourself on. You had visited years ago, but you decided to come again to enjoy the scenery. Maybe you could find a cool rock for Mark and Oliver, too.

You hope things are peaceful for them too, but even if there is another threat that needs to be taken care of, you’re sure Mark would be able to come find you easily enough.

You feel a bit pathetic that you already miss him, even though you’re going to see him in a couple of hours. You suddenly find yourself understanding Debbie’s usual amusement when she watched you two. You really acted like a lovesick puppy, sometimes.

Feeling your phone buzz from your pocket, you fumble for a second as you’re broken from your thoughts, rooting through your jacket to find it. Just as your fingers begin to pull it out a sudden rush of air hits you from behind, your jacket’s hood suddenly pushed over your head as you drop your phone onto the soil as dirt is kicked up into the air.

You whip around, to find…Mark? He was still wearing his black and blue suit, but his entire head was now covered, making him look a little intimidating, with his mouth and hair covered.

He stares at you wordlessly.

“Were you in that much of a rush to show me your new costume? I mean, you just got a new one from Art just a couple of months ago,” you speak up, rubbing the dirt out of your eyes, “Honestly, you could have caused a dirt storm or something…”

He breathes out your name.

You tilt your head, “Is something wrong? Did something happen? Are Debbie and Oliver okay—!?”

Your worrying is cut off when within an instant he has you crushed to his chest, arms locked around you as he buried his head against your neck.

“I just really missed you,” he whispers.

Looks like he’s a lovesick puppy, too.

You can’t hold back a dopey smile, “I missed you too.”

You jolt in his arms when you realize your phone is still vibrating; a redial, so possibly urgent.

“Mark, my phone—“

You’re interrupted again when he pivots you so your back hits a nearby tree, his mask rolled up enough to reveal his mouth which soon presses against yours.

Anything you wanted to say is forgotten as you wrap your arms around his neck to pull him closer. He groans into your mouth as his hands plant themselves to your waist as he places a knee in between your legs.

He moves from your lips to your neck, pressing adoring kisses against your pulse point before helping you shrug off your jacket, letting it to the ground as his hands slide under your shirt, gloved fingers brushing against your ribcage.

“Mark,” you breathe, heart swelling at the sweet intimacy he was more than willing to give you.

Your attention is broken again when you notice your phone is still ringing, your gaze sliding from the man nestled against you to the forest floor where your phone laid.

Your body stiffens.

The caller ID illuminating your phone was one you could recognize even from afar just from the amount of heart emojis you set for…your boyfriend.

The boyfriend that was currently with you.

Whose grip on you begins to tighten as your heart starts to hammer in your chest.

You shakily bring up your hands to hook your fingers beneath his mask, slowly pulling it up as he remains as still as a statue. The face is familiar, if not a little more worn, but the brown eyes you held so dear were now filled with a sadness deep enough to drown you.

This wasn’t your Mark.

Mark was definitely lucky he was attractive, you decide.

If he wasn’t, you definitely wouldn’t have tolerated the sheer annoyance his two variants were causing you.

“Were you a virgin or something until now? Because you fuck like a noob,” A Mark with a wild rag mask laughed as the one that was dressed like Omni Man 2.0 pounded into you, your back pressed against an alleyway wall, the area long deserted from the destruction the two men unleashed on the city.

“I doubt you even know what you’re talking about, with how you talk like a preteen boy,” The red and white Mark huffs, tone passive enough that you’d think he didn’t care about his copy’s words if not for his pace speeding up and his thrusts going deeper and deeper until your voice reaches a new octave.

The other Mark scoffs, “Well, not that she minds, already looks cockdrunk off your tiny dick. Hey, sweetheart, bet I can take you to heaven and back with one stroke.”

“I will kill you.” The Mark fucking into you, tightens his grip, turning to death stare the now laughing Invincible.

“Aww, is daddy mad? Scared she’s going to want to run away with me once I slip my dick in her?”

You can’t believe you have to orgasm while listening to their dumbass argument…

“Hey, if you’re going to hog her pussy, at least move her so I can put that mouth to use—“

Sometimes I feel like he didn't see the immense trouble he brought upon himself when he decided to ruin his own MARRIAGE, for nothing.

Maybe, if it were possible, I believe he would try to bend the clan rules to have Sareena as a second spouse or something along those lines. And she, frankly, wouldn't mind. Being free from her own prison, having her freedom, and her sisters, guaranteed was enough for her. Bi-Han, though a valuable combat companion, would eventually succumb to time.

And you would have to accept it. Accepting an intruder into your marriage. His word was law. At least, that's what he liked to believe.

The divorce, in his view, was a low blow. He didn't play with the possibility that you might leave. Nor did he consider the possibility that you would find someone so quickly — As if he had not done infinitely worse.

Either way, seeing you thriving was a trigger to awaken his fury.

Meanwhile, every variant of him that ventured into Liu Kang's timeline had an immense degree of admiration and passion for you. One of them was kind, had a calm speech and his eyes showed a wisdom that your Bi-Han never had. He was a Titan, like your father. (Union of Light!Bi-Han)

Even the biggest sons of bitches (Order of Darkness and MK11!Noob Saibot) seemed to have you positioned on a pedestal of psychotic adoration.

This was unacceptable to him. The only Subzero who should remain in your life was him, obviously!

Basic Premise: Tells the story from a series of ancient journals that are uncovered showing the events following up the total wipeout of all magic. The journal entries focus on a group of scrappy, young heroes who are on a mission against the world, and fail to stop the evils of the world from taking over. All that is left of them is the journals, leaving the ways of the past to be seen as a distant memory and an inspiration to the new generation, who see how the world came to what it has become.

would you be willing to do affection emojis... if so i have a few ideas (and if it matters i love the soft yellow style i forget the silly's name)

1. an emoji of a guy looking towards the viewer, and from the viewer's POV there's hands holding the guys face in a squish like fashion. there could be little hearts too or maybe different expressions

2. Caregiver and little affection !! this could be anything but I'd love a forehead kiss with the little having a few expressions. (fussy, excited, sad)

3. Group hug ! various amounts of people wojld be cool

There's gonna be like guest 666 skin for noob(basically like an example of what if guest 666 didn't get mutated by spectre)

Im gonna combine the species HC(the HC where I said each character is a species,and the different variants are their skin)

And I also HC before that some skin that is a different character would act more differently and is separate individual themselves (like Bluudud,Bighteyes,Mafaiso,Rochas,Garpshoon and ect.)

For skin like this,they're basically like an alternative universe character,which means they're basically not only separate characters,but basically reflections of existing characters

(like,what if the killer was the survivor and vice versa)

They're probably a clone of their killer counterpart or they're non hostile counterparts of the killers that was made by accident,which the spectre decided took their power away and made them survivors instead

Hello! Here I am with another Dragon Prince request, once again involving Leola!

Going by some of the chats we had, I want to request a Galarian Ponyta!Leola story, please?

Where after she 'dies', she's somehow reborn as a Galarian Ponyta in the Pokemon verse. Specially in Galar, in Ballonlea, where Galarian Rapidash!Reader finds her and adopts her as her foal.

Rapidash!Reader is like the oldest in the Ballonlea forest, so she's super strong and even able to shapeshift into a more human form, which she eventually helps Ponyta!Leola learns as well.

Basically, the pair either fall into a wormhole or Leola's magic acts up, throwing them back into the little girl's old world, where they're nearly killed by Viren for their horns... only for Aaravos to stop them when he sees Leola, alive... and an actual unicorn!

Sure! As you may have seen me and them had talked about this idea in messages on tumblr and they wanted to request this as well so I let them after I finished their previous request, anyway let’s get on with the request shall we?

Leola didn’t know what to think when she woke up in a forest with bioluminescent mushrooms that are all around. When she went to get up she felt weird, like there was more legs to her that the normal two she was used to making her look down at herself, she was very shocked to see that she has hooves of that of a horse though she doesn’t recognize what kind of horse she is as it’s one that has features she has never seen before on a horse of all breed.

leola decided to explore and see where and what she is. she sort of gets her answers from the creatures of the forest that she now knows is called pokemon and that she is a pokemon called ponyta; though a odd looking as she found out that ponyta's in this region doesn't look like this, a regional variant to the one in 'kanto' whatever that is as she doesn't know that yet but she continues on to learn more about wherever she appeared in.

on another side of the forest there lives a ancient rapidash that has lived for over 100 years in the galar region, this rapidash was you. you were the leader and guardian of the forest of ballonlea. you make sure pokemon and humans; who travel through to either challenge the gyms or catch pokemon, live safely and in harmony with each other and not cause disturbances that would hurt the forest and other pokemon. you battle pokemon and human that have bad intentions and always won.

with your age you also hold great power that aren't like that of a normal galarian rapidash, you can speak like a human and can turn into a human if you needed to. but back to the matter at hand. you have gotten word of a ponyta appearing out of nowhere and you know that the season to birthing foals had past long ago already so there shouldn't be any foals being birthed now, you also heard that this foal looked different to the normal galarian ponyta, so you decided to check it out as from what you gathered the foal seems to be a orphan.

you finally came across the foal after a hour of walking around and listening in on any sounds that might help you find the foal so you can check on them. the lone foal was walking around as you stayed a bit further away in the shadow. to watch and see where the foal is going and if you needed to step in if trouble comes. while following the foal tripped and you being you went into action and caught the foal before they fell to the ground by cushioning it with you snout under theirs.

you asked if they were ok and got a nod. you began to ask question on if they had any parents and where they may be, the foal; who you came to find out is named leola, answered that she does have a father but something happened which lead the two to now be separated from each other. you listened as she explained all that happened, when she go to the part where how she got punished she started having a panic attack, springing to action you used a move to help calm her down some and asked if she was alright, she says yes and continued but you said if she didn't want to talk more about it she didn't have to, she said that she was alright now to explain more and did.

you had many emotion from her story but the one that was prominent was anger towards this 'council' but you didn't let it show as she shouldn't see how strong your anger could get since she was still so young; much younger than you considering you age as a ancient galarian rapidash. you took her in and adopted her as your daughter as she was alone in this new world and she needs as much support as she can get right now until she can somehow return to her father. after a week of making sure she got comfortable you decided to take her to a friend of yours; that friend being opal the fairy type gym leader. you and leola walk to the meeting place you and opal always go to when visiting each other and waited for opal to come; what with her old age she sadly can't get up her to the meeting place as fast as she could when she was younger but you were always patient with her as you understand her circumstances that she can't help.

when she finally came you noticed a boy walking beside her that you have never seen before. You come to find out that this boy is bede and he would be the next fairy type gym leader and opal had decided that it was time for her to have him meet her friend so that he know where he should go if he ever needed help. She was surprised to find out you have a foal with you, she starts joking on who the lucky stallion is to hitch you up.

You sputtered out telling who no stallion have yet caught your fancy and that she was a foal you had adopted recently as she had no family; at least in this world, you’ll be taking care of her until you’re able to find a way to reunite her to her father. You told her in privately after getting permission from Leola to tell her and let her know of Leola’s past and how she ended up here in the first place.

Opal was shocked and angry, she was ranting and you were afraid that she would hurt herself with how angry she’s gotten so you calmed her down like you did with Leola but for different reasons.

after talking more about it and then joining bede and leola afterwards it wasn't until a year and a half after the meeting between the four. leola was practicing on how to use her pokemon moves and a bit more of her magic from her original world, you were supervising of course but that still didn't help when she had accidentally transported the two of you to her world.

you and leola woke up soon after getting transported as the oncident made both you and leola pass out. you and leola had found out soon after that this world that you two transported was leola's world though things were different from what she remembered as it seems things has happened while she was transported into your world.

you come to find out that unicorn was now used for spells; dark spells, so you and little leola are now on the run through the human kingdoms so as to escape being killed and be used for dark magic. you both ran all around the humans kingdom until deciding to cross the supposed wall that blocks the human kingdoms from the elves and dragon kingdoms from what you heard; though it was different from what leola told you of her world when she was still in it, you suspect that this is in the future of when she was still in her world.

while in what you believe is called xadia you encountered three humans and what seem to be a elf that looks like leola but is a adult male instead, you two were in your human forms; having taught leola on how to do that, you were of course on guard and tense; ready to fight if need be. viren was about to have his daughter and son attack the two unicorns even if they could turn into human but aaravos had stopped him before he could give the order to do so.

aaravos wasn't expect to ever see his daughter as she had died by her unjust punishment that she didn't deserve just for giving humans magic because of her kind heart and not liking the 'order' the council likes to talk about. he wonders how she is alive, wondering if you were the reason she is alive still so he stopped viren from even giving order to hurt you and leola making sure he threaten viren to make his point clear; he even made threats that he was sure viren haven't heard in his life. you watch and hear this with a raised eyebrow before leola spoke.

she had called out to what you think was her father but it seems she couldn't see him like you could so you decided to see if you could help with that, you took her hand and poured some of your magic to see if she could see him and thankfully it worked. leola was able to see him now, she ran to him causing confusion to the two teens who couldn't see him unlike the three of you that could. you made sure to let the adult male that is visible that you wouldn't hesitate to fight him if he tried taking yours and/or leola's horn, aaravos also let him know that he too would stop him if viren hurt you and leola; you get leola but you were curious on why aaravos also said you in that.

afterward you and leola joined the four though you were not allowed to fight or help as aaravos wasn't going to lose leola again and he wanted to make sure you were taking care of as a thank you for taking care and returning leola for him. you were flattered and agreed, you'd still take care of leola as she still sees you as her mother and aaravos was grateful for you and took interest in you; along with your world but he seemed to be more interested in you as do you.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but this version of Cortana was great. Not Mega Tits™️, way sassier, not some sad damsel but instead a badass and a bitch. Loved her haircut. She looked like how old style anime women did. Ya know, like actual grown women and not borderline like teenagers like she looked in Halo 4?

Eh. As a noob who’s tryina learn the whole story, every change from the OG variant looks worse and worse, IMO 😆 but i have a notorious adoration for “first models” in most things.
