May I inquire about current fandoms and favorite past fandoms? And also in general what types of media draws you in?

hrrmmmmm well, i haven't really been In Fandom the way i used to in years. my perennial special interests are the forgotten realms DnD setting, Tolkien Legendarium (obviously, the vanya says), and to a lesser extent the elder scrolls universe. I loved and occasionally still read fic/hunt for fanart for steven universe! The way i engage with tolkien stuff is now mostly in the lense of my religion and only occasionally as fandom--i do like reading fics that approach the legendarium with different meta interpretations of the original texts or coin new neologisms for language or culture that were not fully fleshed out in the text. My earliest fandoms were Forgotten realms, then unreal tournament, then tf2. I think tf2 was Thee Most Fandom fandom i have ever engaged in, including terrible fic that was destroyed a few machines ago. I have also done some self-insert stuff for funsies with like, the different fallout games and stuff between those, or mlp gen 4. As far as media goes, it has been a long time since i have read fiction, as i primarily read for my herbalism work and spiritual work. I play a few games on repeat, but some of them (Bioshock series) aren't the kind of thing i would seek fandom for. I watch shows when i do my nails, and i love strange new worlds (star trek) and somehow, the witcher netflix, so far. i definitely dont feel... like.... qualified to do any writing for star trek fandom though.

Following the lead she joined to take a seat on the couch, being extremely mindful of the delicate furniture, and even more when presented with the tea she did her best not to apply pressure. Many times without thinking about the finer things and materials....she often broke cups on accident, something great strength could be truly a curse in a way.

"Your son has made his choice to be a valuable ally to myself and many other adventurers we have met before, all on his own accord. You should have more faith in him just like we all do " she adds with a softer smile glancing over Shin to give a more nudge to him in the right direction. "Also mam, you keep calling me vulgar, which I understand might be because of what I wear. But other than that, I don't think I have done anything to offend your home or your people so far. Do you always belittle your guests without any good reason?"

Vanya could not help but raise a brow, now she may be brash but this lady was not beating around the bushes wasn't she? Her people may have been on the crude side but even they welcomed people despite being vastly different. Seems like the same could be said for Shin's hometown. Ah well, she was already prepared to meet plenty of prejudice.

"It's a lovely home you have madam, cozy I must say " she spoke simply remembering her mothers advice that sometimes it's better to put your claws back. However, having a small bird landing on her head did cause her to chuckle softly at the little critter.

"Pleasure is all mine little Zander!" she adds with a broad grin reaching her hand to gently tap the small bird's beak if it allows her.

Shaking her head she wanted to reassure him that all was well, but the more she observed him the more she noticed his posture. He was rigid as if he was tied up and unable to sit more comfortable. Was he truly happy to visit his home?

To somewhat soothe him she reaches her other free hand to stroke his back gently, trying to encourage him. "You wanted to speak with your lovely mother haven't ya mate?"

Okay, I’m going to start this by saying that you and Klaus definitely were dating before the whole 2019 end of the world zapped back to the 60s by little older brother shenanigan. The two of you met way back in the day when you followed the sound of screaming and sneaked into the mausoleum, just letting this strange, terrified boy rest his head on your shoulder while you wrapped him in your arms. 

Since then, he’s just been head over heels, and the two of you have been through Ben’s death, rehab, Reginald, just everything together.

That’s why, when he landed back first on the wet ground of some random 1960′s alley, and you didn’t land down beside him, he was absolutely heartbroken.

For the first time in his life, he truly didn’t know what to do or where to go. He didn’t know who he was without you, which is how he ended up setting up a cult in your image.

One day when he’s heading into town, off to buy another billowing shirt, or some nice bell bottom jeans, he hasn’t decided yet, he sees a very familiar set of eyes behind the menu of a passing diner window.

Running in, his mouth drops open and his lips start quivering when he sees you just sitting there, ordering lunch. Dropping down the menu, your eyes widen when you see the mess of a man standing by your table, every limb of his body shaking, before he reaches out to rub his thumb against the side of your cheek as if he were in a dream.

‘Y/n?’

That night, his favourite night of all time, the one where he found you again, is just spent cuddling. He takes you back to his mansion, and you have no time to be in awe, or ask how he managed to scuff up the money for a place like this, before he’s grabbed a sheet of some old piece of furniture and has wrapped it around both your shoulders like a burrito.

He sounds like his teenage self again as he giggles against your forehead, walking you backwards and finally tripping your feet so you land on the sofa. 

You don’t notice the painting of you that’s hanging up on his mantelpiece.

He spends the whole of the night awake, in disbelief that you’re actually here, tucked into his arms again. He has one hand placed gently over your heart, and the other rubbing against the small of your back as he just keeps kissing and kissing your forehead over and over, scared that you’ll disappear in the morning.

You wake him up by tugging on his beard, which is why he decides to finally shave it off.

When the rest of his cult finally catch up with the two of you, they think you’re a goddess. Klaus honestly doesn’t know what to say, he just puts on his sunglasses and becomes a blushing mess as you stare up at him in shock.

He’s s o c l i n g y. This poor baby has spent every day missing you, he honestly could live out his life happily in the 60s as long as you’re by his side, every moment of every day. Five. however, isn’t quite of the same mind set, and was not very amused when he zapped in to try and find his brother, and instead found the two of you rolling around the floor in the midst of an apparent tickle match.

He just sighs and rolls his eyes, deciding it would probably just be better if he tried to find Luther first.

Ben, however, is ecstatic to have you back, as Klaus no longer feels the need to buy alcohol anymore. Any time he has an urge to ruin his sobriety, he just sits down next to you and nestles his nose onto the side of your shoulder, breathing you in.

‘I love you so so much, Y/n.’

The two of you spend a lot of days before, you know, the second end of the world, lounging in his pool. He’ll be on the neon pink floatie, you on a nice green one, a cocktail in one hand and the other holding each others. 

He’s never felt so at peace.

Although he also loves coming out of the pool, because you’ve made a routine to hop up onto the side and pull him against your chest with your thighs, before cradling his face with your hands and reaching down for a kiss.

He always starts blinking heavily and sighing when you try to pull away, that you feel bad if you don’t press another one against his desperate lips.

Bad idea, though, as half the time he just pulls you back down into the water with him.

Many afternoons are spent rolling around in the grass, or, with Ben’s suggestion, in the dirt, feeding each other strawberries. The look of just pure devotion and love in Klaus’ eyes as you pull the stalk away from his lips, though, always makes Ben fake gag.

Having to help him feel better when Ben keeps trying to possess him, which ends with you rubbing calming oils into his back during herbal bath times, and also hugging him close to you once Ben saves Vanya and disappears.

I have this head canon that after the apocalypse is done and over with (for real this time) Vanya tries to convince Five to try drinking herbal teas instead of coffee because it’s better for him and he obviously needs to sleep instead of downing 6 cups of coffee (a lot of caffeine)

Vanya gives me herbal tea vibes I don’t really have a good reason for why I just think it would be really cute for her to try (even though it probably wouldn’t work b/c Five is stubborn and likes his coffee)

You pressed a finger to your lips as you slipped through the salon door, signalling for Allison and Vanya not to let on that you had arrived. Klaus lay back with his head in one of the plastic basins, a towel draped over his shoulders, eyes closed. For the moment, he looked peaceful; you wanted to capture the look on his face and wear it in your heart forever.

You wiggled your fingers up and down at Allison, miming a scrubbing motion and pointed at yourself and at Klaus. She smiled, or maybe it should have been called a smirk, and stepped out of the way, motioning grandly for you to take her place.

"Everything alright, sis?" He asked, thankfully not opening his eyes to check.

"Hm? Oh yeah its fine. Just trying to make sure I've got the right products. Your hair's gotten so long, we want to keep those curls healthy and not let you get matted."

"Oh, okay. Take your time."

You surpressed a giggle as she walked over, handing you a set of large green bottles that, even closed, had a sharp herbal scent that for some reason made you smile.

All your tools in place, you set to work. As you combed your fingers gently through his long locks to ensure they were thoroughly wetted, it to all of your willpower not to play with them as you were wont to do.

You lathered the shampoo on your hands, working it through, strand by strand.

"Ooh, that's interesting. It's making my skin cold?" He quipped, tensing at the feeling.

"It's the tea tree oil. Just relax," Allison said, rolling her eyes.

He sighed, sinking more fully back again and you set about rinsing, eyes drawn away from his hair to the goosebumps dancing along his neck and collarbone before it disappeared beneath the towel. You smiled, biting your bottom lip. Now for the real fun.

You squeezed a generous amount of conditioner onto your hands and began massaging it in, raking your nails gently across his scalp and the back of his neck, tugging just enough to be noticable as you moved further away from his head.

A quiet, involuntary moan escaped his parted lips. Your eyes flickered over to his sisters who looked torn between amusement and discomfort.

"Careful Allison," he sighed blissfully. "You keep doing that, and I might just pull a Luther."

She pressed her lips together to contain a giggle even as she rolled her eyes. Vanya didn't bother to hide her own bark of laughter.

You leaned over him, staring sort of upside down at that beautiful face.

"Well then," you purred. "It's a good thing I'm not Allison isn't it? I'd hate to have to be terribly jealous of myself."

His eyes fluttered open and a bright smile blossomed on his face. God did you live for that smile.

"Y/N?" he whispered in surprise.

"Hello love."

He tried to sit up to kiss you and you pushed him back down with a gentle hand on his chest, before leaning in to kiss the tip of his nose.

"There will be plenty of time for that later. I'm not done washing your hair."

"Tease," he whined.

You heard the jingle of the bell and the click of the door, signalling that you two had been too nauseating and the others had left. On the other hand, it meant you had the place, and him, all to yourself...

"You know you love it."

"I do. I really do." A cheesy grin accompanied the statement, and there was a gleam in his eye that said he'd noticed the lack of other people as well.

"The only thing I like better," he murmurred, hand creeping up from the arm of the salon chair to rest on your ass and nudge you closer, "is getting back at you for it."

You sprayed him in the face with the hose while you tried to rinse the conditioner away and he kneaded and pawed at you.

"Stop that!" You laughed in half-hearted protest. "If I don't get this out of your hair, you'll be stuck in that chair. And then where will we be?"

"I don't know," he drawled. "I can think of lots to do from right here like this."

"Incorrigible bastard."

"Minx."

You finally dropped the hose and scooped his hair into a towel. In a blink, he sat up and pulled you down onto his lap.

"I love you," he breathed, not giving you time to respond before his lips were on yours. Not that you minded. There would be plenty of time for that later.

how i think the umbrella academy takes their tea

luther- he doesn’t actually like tea he just wants chocolate milk but doesn’t want to look weird so when he’s offered it asked for really weak tea

deigo- to prove he’s better than luther has it very strong (not black) and openly mocks anyone who puts sugar in their tea though will put excessive amounts in his own when he thinks no one is watching

alison- a good, strong cup of tea, i’m thinking maybe one sugar, two when she’s feeling sad, probably uses oat milk

klaus- no one ever taught klaus how to make tea so he just puts hot water from the tap into a mug and adds the milk before he puts the tea bag in. he would definitly microwave it if it got cold

i refuse to provide a photo for that

five- two options here, either completely black or milky and full of sugar. of course drinks black coffee more but when offered or in the afternoon when it’s too late for coffee

ben- like alison a good cup of tea though ben doen't take his with sugar, gotta look after them beautiful teefs. also he just uses normal cow’s milk. i’m thinking somewhere in this region

vanya - only ever herbal or friut teas, she has a cupboard in her appartment somewhere with at least 10 different types of tea at any one time, everytime she goes somewhere she makes a point of buying a new and interesting type of tea

Vanya is all heart, beginning to end. that isn't to say he's ruled by emotion; rather, he tends to follow whatever feels like the good, right thing to do from a grounded, rational perspective. no thoughts, just vibes.

they promised their mother and brothers they'd stay safe.

he loves botany and herbal medicine. he grew up learning from his mother, the town apothecary, and he knows plants like the back of his hand.

Morgyn: “I hope you don’t mind me just turning up like this. It’s been too long since I last saw you.”

Vanya: “Of course I don’t mind! Do you want to stay the night?”

After they spend some time cloudgazing together, they head inside where Morgyn finds Vanya’s new book on herbalism sitting on the table.

Morgyn: “You’re learning about herbalism?”

Vanya: “I thought it might be useful for making potions. I’m learning gardening, as well.”

Morgyn: “Well gardening skill will certainly be helpful for potion making, but I’m not sure about herbalism. I don’t know anything about it, myself.”

Later that night, while everyone in the house is asleep, Vanya receives a text letting her know that L.Faba has passed away.

The Umbrella Academy and The Avengers Crossover!

So let’s do another crossover because I have too many ideas and like no time to write what with school and my other stories I would love to start posting before summer. So, let’s dive right in!

Firstly, let me just say that there aren’t nearly enough TA and TUA crossovers. Both groups have such brilliant and vibrant characters, it would be a sin not to see what would happen when we combine their dynamics. On the same note - because I cannot deal with major character death (like at all, I filter stories like that on AO3), let’s just pretend that all characters from the Marvel universe are just fine and dandy and ALIVE and will never die.

With that said - to the actual crossover!

When Five attempted to jump his siblings to the past at the end of TUA S1, he instead managed to jump them to a different dimension. And this dimension, unlike the one the kids come from is filled to a brim with superheroes. 

Because of Loki’s use of the Tesseract that is already tearing into a hole into the space-time continuum (it is after all bending space to allow the Chitari access to Earth) Five’s jump gets side-tracked and the siblings end up in New York just as the Chitauri are attacking. Five immediately realizes that they are in the wrong place (and time) and attempts to warn the others. However, he ends up passing out before he can do properly explain what happened.

So, the remaining siblings, now in their 13-year-old bodies, with unconscious Vanya and Five attempt to do what they were trained to do - be heroes. Problem is because they show their powers, SHIELD notices them. And of course, there are agents storming down the kids’ hiding place and catching them after the invasion is dealt with.

Long story short, they manage to incapacitate the siblings and bring them to the SHIELD custody. Nick Fury is already planning on testing their powers and pretty much training them to be his little soldiers just like Reginald wanted, but the newly-formed Avengers catch on his plan fairly quickly. And it wouldn’t be Tony if he didn’t alert Captain America who is full of morals and surely against locking up children. So after much threats and bargaining, the Avengers essentially end up adopting seven kids who aren’t actually kids but never bothered to tell them (Five strongly advised his siblings against that).

At first, both sides are deeply mistrustful of each other. Five doesn’t trust anybody, especially not eccentric billionaires (been there done that, thanks a lot Reginald), assassins (because come on are Hawkeye and Black Widow honestly going to pretend they don’t kill people for living, Five knows what a killer looks like - he can see one in the mirror every morning), two muscular oafs (he knows Luther, that’s enough) and a shadowy organization that is trying to “protect the world” (as if the people at Temps Commission didn’t say the same thing). In Five’s mind, this is just a warped version of their own dimension and he won’t let those people touch his siblings. 

So he fights tooth and nail to get his siblings out of SHIELD and then out of the Avengers’ Tower. They almost escape both times, but Jarvis (that traitor!) rats them out. It isn’t until Five lashes out at Tony (because Five won’t fall for this false sense of security, he knows they are just waiting to strike, to experiment on his siblings, to terminate Vanya, to “improve” Klaus, he just knows it) and in his anger describes some of the torture Reginald put them through when the Avengers finally understand what the actual problem is. They do their best to prove to Five that they are not and will never be like their late father. They try to be gentle and encouraging and talk about things (which is its own kind of torture for everyone involved). And Five reluctantly finds himself expanding his tight-knit family a little bit, to accommodate firstly the Iron Man and eventually Pepper and Bruce and Steve. He is still mistrustful of Fury, Black Widow and Hawkeye, but no one can fault him for that.

And funnily enough, after much trial and error of the Avengers attempting to “raise” seven “kids”, it all works out pretty well.

Tony, Bruce, Five and Ben have the weirdest type of bond. They are completely capable of talking science for hours (because Five and Ben still have to find out how science works in this universe and Tony and Bruce are so taken with the idea of time travel that all four just spend hours picking each others’ brains) and then promptly start insulting or ignoring each other (well, Tony and Five do that, Bruce and Ben just watch them with frustration and amusement depending on the day) whenever they have “outside audience” (meaning anyone who doesn’t belong into their science bros club).

Bruce and Vanya start something like a mentor-apprentice relationship. Bruce knows all about how difficult it is to have destructive powers that are linked to your emotions. So he and Vanya start semi-official Yoga & Herbal Tea Club together. The other Avengers and Umbrella Academy heroes join them every now and then. Eventually, Tony sets up a greenhouse at the Avengers Tower that is supposed to work as an oasis for their more volatile teammates and Vanya and Bruce organize weekly tea parties and violin concerts in there. (And even though Five grumbles tea is the worst and what he wouldn’t give for a decent cup of coffee, he ends up attending every single week.)

Alison’s throat has healed now that she is in her past body, but she is still reluctant to use her powers; nothing good ever came out of that. Natasha picks up on her reluctance and decides to instead teach her how to read and manipulate people without powers. In her opinion, it is a “healthy alternative”, because then Alison isn’t taking free will from anyone; people are just dumb enough to fall for a well-thought-out strategy. Alison is surprisingly ok with that because she feels like she can actually use these skills for something good - such as defusing fights between her siblings.

Luther is the one sibling that struggles the most in this new universe. All he has ever been told by his idealized father figure turned out to be a lie. He attempts to start a new chapter of his life in this new universe, but it is difficult. He is not sure who he is any longer. Steve Rogers can relate - he himself didn’t have the easiest of times adjusting to the future he woke up in. Steve and Luther tentatively manage to start a friendship where Luther learns a lot about being an actual leader that does what is right. And if Luther starts idealizing Captain America just a tiny little bit, no one says a thing, because Steve is a major improvement over Reginald any day.

Diego is unsurprisingly quite taken with Hawkeye. They start training together. Diego is working on expanding the range of his knife-throwing and Hawkeye is a worthy opponent for that. They don’t quite have a friendship, but they treat each other a little bit like friendly colleagues. However, Clint is forever amused by Diego’s stuttering around Black Widow and his obvious worship of Pepper. Diego has a thing for bossy women, motherly figures and generally strong females and his traitorous 13-year-old body filled with hormones is not helping that in the slightest. 

Klaus kind of fluctuates between being alright and relapsing to addiction. He spends the most time in the greenhouse or with Ben, but he starts getting antsy pretty fast. Ghosts are in every dimension and the Avengers’ Tower is hunted by quite a few. Klaus starts stealing some liquor from Tony but is quickly found out. Tony calls Professor X to come to have a look at Klaus’ powers because Tony might be a great engineer, but this magical mumbo jumbo is beyond him at this point. Charles Xavier mainly relieves Klaus of the fear of the dead, but that slightly backfires, because Klaus is always extra and gets a little frunk on the fearlessness (running head first into any battle and literally not being afraid of anything, his siblings are pretty scared for him). Professor X then tries a different tactic and coaches Klaus in how to use his powers. They make some progress, but it is not until Doctor Strange comes around that Klaus actually masters his ouija-board-like powers.

Thor is like the fun uncle that shows every once in a while, causes mayhem and disappears. Diego, Luther and Klaus positively adore him. Thor dotes on Vanya and Alison and calls them “little Valkyries” or “his favourite Midgardian ladies right after Jane”. Five hates Thor, because of his oaf-ish tendencies and the fact that he loves to pick him up (Five is sure it is at least partially because Thor knows he hates it - not that it matters because Five is rarely caught off guard and teleports away before Thor can even touch him). Thor says Five reminds him of his brother when he was young (these statements usually paint a rather uncomfortable expression on Tony’s face). Ben just finds the visits amusing and loves to see his siblings’ antics. 

Pepper and Natasha (and eventually Jane, Darcy and Wanda) have a shopping day with Kaus, Alison and Vanya once a month. Natasha and Alison people-watch while picking out sexy dresses, Pepper and Vanya look at the best new button-downs and Klaus (and Darcy) usually spends hours in the make-up section. Sometimes they take other people from the Tower with them - Tony, Bruce and Five and rarely persuaded to go anywhere, but Steve, Ben and Luther can be swayed. It’s hilarious to watch Steve navigate his way through stores with electronics.

Tony and Pepper are no doubt the ones most affected by the kids. Tony can relate to the abuse and neglect of parental figure far too well and subconsciously takes up the role of their surrogate father; even though he never calls himself that (it would no doubt deal a huge blow to the fragile relationship he has with Five). He is ridiculously protective of all the kids (which is one of the reasons Five respects him) and goes to great pains to ensure nobody upsets Vanya and no one insults Klaus’ choice of clothing or Diego’s stutter. Pepper notices, but she believes that it can be only beneficial for Tony to show some responsibility. So she orders a huge dining table into the Avengers’ Tower and starts organizing “family” dinners for all the occupants of the Tower. They don’t always go well (sometimes there's shouting or knives being thrown), but it still makes both Tony’s and Pepper’s heart swell to see all their “children” and friends around.

Growing up as elvish royalty Vanya was expected to do great things in life. Her father, the Great King of Saalnor and the slayer of the Darkling race, foresaw her taking his place on the throne one day much to her mothers dismay who still held old-fashioned views. She thought one of Vanya’s many brother’s had a birthright to take the throne and continuously argued that,” A woman had no place ruling over the entire elvish kingdom, and that their only job was raising children”. After years of pushing this viewpoint down her daughter’s throat Vanya’s father finally had enough... and made a spectacle out of cutting his wives tongue out publicly before banishing her from the kingdom forever. That was the moment Vanya realized how cruel her father and the village she lived in was, and began to fear the very people she shared her day with. From that point forward in her life Vanya’s father put her through vigorous military training and began to expedite the grooming process so she could take the throne one day. Overtime Vanya morphed into someone she didn't even recognize... all because she was too afraid to speak out against her father.

She lived this life for many years, growing to despise the elven race for what they were doing to her and how they didn’t seem to care that she was clearly suffering. Eventually the day arrived for Vanya to take the throne, but at this time in her life she had no interest in ruling over her elvish comrades. Before her coronation, Vanya fled the kingdom and abandoned Saalnor with just a bow and a few arrows. In the outside world Vanya was finally able to be who she always wanted to be... and lived life to the fullest extent, becoming a wild child with the wilderness around her. In fact... with her out of control behavior Vanya angered many forest natives, and as a result was cursed by a forest nymph. Not knowing how to cure the curse put on her, Vanya returned to Saalnor in search of help; however, on reentering the kingdom she was taken in by the royal guard and held captive. Now a lowly prisoner in her own village Vanya was beaten and tortured, causing everlasting damage to her mind and body. All the while this was happening, the curse she was attempting to heal was only growing worse. She couldn’t believe the people she once called family would allow this to happen to her in her time of need, and now completely despised the elven race... or at least the village she had previously lived in.

After weeks of torture Vanya was finally able to make an escape, and vowed never to return to Saalnor for any circumstance. Since abandoning her village Vanya has been in search of a permanent home... somewhere far away from Saalnor where she has no chance of ever spotting any elves from her previous home ever again. While living in the forest Vanya has changed her ways for the better, and has now become a treat to have around! With all the knowledge she had gained from studying to take the throne she has helped the forest prosper in many ways, and now takes great care of the land she walks on along with the animals surrounding her. Now a kind-hearted soul, Vanya is finally happy with who she has become... and is in search for someone who can accept her the way she is, flaws and all, and won’t be scared off when she speaks of her curse.

  Facts About Vanya:

Her left hand is cursed and Vanya refers to it as “The Fade” because it dims and brightens depending on the time of day. At it’s brightest, noon, Vanya is a shell of a person with severe fatigue, an inability to think clearly, confusion, sensitivity to cold and heat, hearing and sight loss, and acute paranoia. At other times of the day she can function normally, with only a few of the less powerful symptoms.

Vanya is pansexual, and is in a poly relationship with a spider and a elf from a different village she met outside after escaping prison. She wouldn’t mind leaving them if the right person came around, as she isn’t particularly attached to either of them.

Want’s to meet her mother again, but is afraid of what emotions might rise when she sees her again after all these years. Vanya also fears that her mother may blame her for her banishment...

Now finds it hard to trust people after all the betrayal she’s faced.

Doesn’t like to talk about her curse, and tries to hide it with bracelets when she is able to.

Loves to explore new lands.

Tends to stay up late and wake up early to get as many good hours in a day she can before the fade hinders her ability to.

Dabbles with herbalism and the art of flower arranging.

Loves to collect things, especially things she's never seen before.

Has a fear of forest nymphs.
