I like all of the main characters of yj for a different reasons, as I said already BUT speaking of cast itself oh god I love Jasmin Savoy Brown and Liv Hewson the most. They bring me so much joy.

longing stares across the hallway, across the canteen table, across the field. tiny giggles to van's jokes, smiling while she listens to van's stories. getting embarrassed when van makes eye contact with her while telling a story.

and van notices these. taissa knows van notices it. but taissa would deny it for the fear of being judged by others, or worse, van.

van notices that too, and makes a point to subtly assure taissa that she isn't anything taissa thinks of her. and that they are more similar than taissa thinks.

they were good friends. although taissa would still linger a look a little too long at van, would look for van in the crowd, and would like van in her presence a little better.

taissa is guarded, she likes to wall herself from others and paint that wall with an image of toughness. but that wall eventually falls on her. ashamed, she would isolate herself more—manifesting in a meaner persona.

van, as always, notices. and makes it her duty to care for taissa every time.

and the relationship happens, albeit secretly, and then the wilderness. then taissa reverts back to hiding.

25 years later, taissa is publically married to another woman. and van knows about it.
