The one thing the tv series did better than the books was to keep Simon a vampire. The message of Downworders being as important and vital as Shadowhunters kind of fails if one of only two main characters who are Downworlders becomes a Shadowhunter.

Simon has a great story arc when he became a vampire and then a Daylighter. His entire journey of self-acceptance was wasted once he became human again, despite the tragedy when he lost his memories.

I remember reading on Reddit that it would have been a true tragedy if Simon had lost his status as a Daylighter and memories and became a regular vampire who had no idea who Clary or the other were. Something would also prevent Simon from regaining his Daylighter status.

I have always thought he should have stayed a vampire.

I judge someone based on whether they wanted Simon to stay a vampire, or liked him becoming a shadowhunter 👀👀👀👀

if the mortal instruments movies had continued for five more sequels— and were faithful to the books— eventually, we would have gotten not only vampire simon, but mark of cain!vampire simon.

meaning that robert sheehan would’ve ended up playing not one, not two, but THREE characters that were immortal and the source of comic relief

simon dealing with rats on rats at the shadowhunter academy like the past slipping into his room, creeping under his bed, hiding in his closet, wanting to find him, to touch him, waiting to be named 'simon' for the joke. but instead he hates them, shuns them.. until they start to grow on him, his rat friends, his forgotten past. until he graduates and no longer needs the ratty reminder of how his story here started.

I am soooo excited for thule!simon because

1. he is still a vampire and I hope he appears with thule!raphael or thule!camille

2. he has lost everything, his clary, his mundane family...

3. He told Janus “I’ll kill you jace herondale” before his disappearance AAAAAAAA

I hope that thule!simon and janus can make peace and console each other and that they end up together so jimon finally becomes canon

A really underrated moment in tmi is when Clary suggests Simon to tell his parents he's a vampire with a depliant about coming out.
