Ganesh puja on Vaman Dwadashi 🙏🏼

To celebrate the Vamanji lila, Ganeshji is wearing a yellow prasadi khes from HH Gokulottsavji’s Soma Yagna and has a kamandal (water pot) with him. Four birds represent the four Vedas who have come to sing his praise.

In the Trivikram lila, Vamanji’s foot reached the outermost edge of the universe! Brahma and the sages washed his toe that came up to the Brahma Lok and the water spilled in the firmament of space as Akash Ganga - the Milky Way.

On this day, after retiring from the bath, install the picture of Vamana’s avatar of Lord Vishnu on the post. Worship the image of Shrihari if there isn’t a picture of the Vamana avatar.

Worship Lord Vamana with Shodopchar. Offer them roli, mouli, yellow flowers, naivedya. And pay attention to Vamana Avatar’s tale.

Now do aarti, distribute prasad. Give food to the poor and needy. Additionally, charity work ought to be done. Worshiping in Shravan Nakshatra on this day is considered very fruitful.

Ganapati on Vaman Dwadashi (21st Sept 2018) As is it Vaman Dwadashi, Ganapati is dressed as simply as Vaman - Vishnu’s avatar as the youngest son of sage Kashyap and Aditi.  The simplicity of an ashram setting in a forest with a wild meadow are evoked in the seva today.  As he is in an ashram, the food offered is also a simple fare of fruits and some milk based sweets.  As the sagely Vaman, Ganesh wears simple garlands of silk and cotton rather than jewels studded with gems. ��

As it’s a birthday, Ganesh wears a tiger’s claw to avert the evil-eye. He wears a golden yagnopavit (sacred thread) across his torso.
