Q: So, realistically, what are my chances with Val?

A: Um, let's go with less than zero and call it a day. Our resident Queen B has incredibly high standards, and I don't need to know you to tell you that most people don't meet those standards. But, you never know, shoot your shot I guess. If nothing else it'll be funny to watch for me personally.

Q: Sooo what's Val's favorite drink? Also her ultimate goal for the future?

A: I think you'd have better luck asking what Val doesn't drink. For favorite I'd say anything that's mostly liquor. Usually she can be found at parties dinking something clear or amber, so I'd say anything with a high alcohol content 🥂

Q: How did Val become the Queen B of Blackthorn?

A: That's like asking how Ryan Gosling became a famous actor - charm and good looks, friend. Also, in Val's case, a ruthless dedication to destroying her enemies.

Q: What’s Val's major?

A: Val is an archaeology major. Now, how someone can climb through tombs in heels that high I have no idea, but I suppose the modern day queen wanting to study ancient queens makes some kind of sense.

Q: Can we get a zodiac sign/love language/seven deadly sins low down for Val?

A: This again, sure sure. She's a scorpio 🦂 which should surprise exactly no one. Her love language is quality time. Generally she can't stand to be around people for very long, so finding someone she can stand for more than five minutes seems to be a thing for her. And her deadly sin is probably greed. When you're already at the top all you want is more.

Figured out James cheated on Maggie on their first conversation. Already hate him.

This weekend (July 6-7) probably the biggest pop culture event in Bulgaria took place. Over 25,000 fans of cosplay, manga, anime, gaming, comics, cinema and graffiti gathered to have fun in the company of popular actors, artists and talents from around the world. Two days, 4 halls and thousands of emotions! The diverse program allowed everyone to immerse themselves in their world and be themselves among like-minded people. Dozens of zones with games and surprises, panels with movie stars, gaming tournaments, meetings with celebrities from the small screen, workshops, contests and a show program are just a part of everything that Aniventure Comic Con will leave a mark on the hearts of the audience. After the fantastic end of this year's edition, the organizers have also announced the dates for next year, namely July 5 and 6, 2025!

As part of Aniventure Comic Con 2024, fans had the opportunity to meet live with actors Ross Marquand, Dan Fogler, Anna Shaffer, Vincent Regan and Maria Bakalova, who with a smile and a very warm attitude welcomed their fans for photos and autographs. In addition to these close encounters, the actors talked about themselves and shared interesting moments from their lives and careers during special interviews from the stage of Hall 1.

They were joined by Julian Kostov and Josh Wichard, who took us to another dimension and explained what it's like to be a video game actor. The topic excited dozens of guests who crowded the gaming area of ​​A1 and Lenovo, where tournaments and challenges were held on the most popular and current games such as Brawl Stars, Clash Royale, League of Legends Challenge, FC24, FORTNITE with 4a1a.

Visitors had the opportunity to meet live the artists of comics such as "Tony Pateto", Neda Malcheva, Christian Duce, as well as the author of the series of books from the universe of "Dune", "Star Wars" and "The X-Files" - Kevin J. Anderson, who revealed more details and little-known facts about his work on the super hits.

One of the hot spots during the event was the Meet&Greet area, which met us with the most popular influencers and YouTubers such as Slavi from The Clashers, Aide BG, The World of Vankata, Mirela Ilieva and Teodora Mudeva from "Games of Will", Hyperkong and Elizabeth Kravets, Philip Bukov, Krisia, Atanas Mishev-Nasi Svej, Maggie Tomova, Ekaterina Todorova, Valeria Dakova. For the first time, all the "Bachelors" of Bulgaria gathered in one place - Viktor Stoyanov, Evgeni Genchev, Alek Mladenov.

Of course, we can't help but mention the extremely exciting cosplay, manga and anime contests, which peppered the event with incredible images and favorite characters that came to life on the main stage. There were also numerous workshops, panels, lectures and screenings dedicated to Asian culture, which filled Hall 2 with fans.

These and many more emotions captured Inter Expo Center, and what awaits us next year, we have to find out on July 5 and 6, 2025. Tickets at a promotional price are now on sale in the Eventim network!

Top of the Top:

Born a Crime was probably my favourite non ficition, and most of that probably is due to Trevor Noah's narration skills. It was very entertaining and heartfelt.

Less uplifting but just as gripping in a different way was Empire of Pain. Excellent book that went deep into the why and what and hows of Purdue Pharma. Anger inducing.

Lazarus Heist is great and available as a podcast. The book is more or less the podcast word for word.

Fictionwise: I read Trust at the start of the year and it was a bit soon to declare as favourite of the year, but it's stil made the final cut. Just very imaginative and intriguing. Just my kind of MetaFiction. Clever without being cleverclever.

Demon Copperhead I read right off the back of Empire of Pain so maybe that coloured my experience. I've not read any Dickens so loads of references no doubt flew past me, but the language was acrobatic and zingy. I loved it.

Wrapped up the year on a high with North Woods. That was so unexpected and entertaining. Again with the playful language, memorable characters and a unique approach to tying all the various stories together. One that sticks in the mind and makes the writer in me wonder how I can replicate his style (with my own personal twist of course.)

He for sure has the highest body count, he’s famously the campus bicycle. As for relationship experience? Basically none.

Val

Val’s had her fair share of relationships. Always relationships that looked good on paper, and always ending more or less amicably, and without any real emotion from either party.

Juliette

Juliette has had one or two short relationships in the past, but they were all broken off by her because she sees them as a waste of time. She's had a few one-night stands though for stress relief.

Oliver

Oliver dated someone once, back in high school. It ended... poorly.
