Alright gun post before I go to bed.
On Today's episode: The VP70
Tumblr media
The horror game nerds will recognise this as Matilda, Leon Kennedy's personal firearm from the Resident Evil franchise.
The VP70 (Volkpistole [people's pistol] 70) by Heckler and Koch was designed in 1970. It was the first polymer body pistol, 12 years before the Glock 17 was made. It was double stacked, which was also rare for the time.
What makes this pistol that unusual? Not even the gun itself, it was the stock. The stock (which appeared on the military versions of the gun) would make the gun go from a regular semiautomatic, to a burst fire gun. Burst fire meant it could fire 3 shots with one trigger pull. It was so fast, at 2,200 rounds a minute. Why did it work? Cause the stock helped mitigate recoil, allowing the burst fire to be more accurate. German engineering is wild and magical
Now, I hope posts like these help educate people on firearms and to show that there is more to guns than just shooting. Mechanically they can be very intriguing, or even just aesthetically. If anyone has any recommendations or questions, I am more than happy to comply.

Cool gun, but HK's idea for direct blowback (having gas vent through the rifling) means the rounds lose velocity and thus energy, even compared to pistols with shorter barrels. Plus the burst fire is... Not very useful. But hey, it is in Aliens!

Glock Pistols Series (Tribute to Gaston Glock)
GET YOURS HERE!!!
Just remastered some old works of the Glock Pistol Series as a tribute to the late Gaston Glock, the inventor of the Glock Pistol that has significantly contributed to the firearms industry since 1982. Rest in peace, sir. Your legacy will remain in our hearts, and your contribution to the firearms industry, especially pistols in Late 20th Century. Sorry For Late Tribute Post. I Need to Find the Best Glock Model for this Tribute and Improving the Existing Models Thank you @exzentra-reblog @coffee-cc-finds @bdangkingfish @evgenyesipov1999 @sparkiekong @helenofsimblr @igglemouse
Known for its distinct shape like a box, Glock emphasizes its tradition of perfection in almost every design they issue. The journey began in 1982 when Glock Ges.mbH introduced their 17th patent, which would later be known as the Glock 17. It is a 9mm-chambered pistol that would change the mindset of the sidearm industry. Although not the first polymer-made pistol (the first was an HK VP70), it offered the value of a lightweight, high-capacity magazine pistol. The Glock 17 entered the US market in 1986. Despite initial rejection by both Glock and the US Military as a replacement for the 1911, Glock started to capture the attention of American police departments (PDs).
By 1987, it began to be adopted by police departments, with others following suit in issuing Glocks as their standard sidearm. The key to Glock's success in police departments lies in its affordable price, ease of maintenance, numerous interchangeable parts, and, of course, the double-trigger system. Although it may be challenging to execute a follow-up shot quickly, it ensures safety when the pistol is not in use. Additionally, this sidearm is popular for deployment alongside the Secret Service.
In this case, VVE covers some of the Glock series to the SimVerse usage, like :
Standard
Standards Glocks are full-sized pistols that are designed for duty and home defense use. Barrel lengths are 4.49 inches and 4.61 inches depending on caliber. Standard-sized Glocks are some of the most commonly sold pistols and strike the right balance between size, weight, and controllability.
Glock 17
The Glock 17 is the original 9×19mm Parabellum model, with a standard magazine capacity of 17 rounds, introduced in 1982. Glock also offers a version of the standard magazine which incorporates a longer "+2" base plate to provide a capacity of 19 rounds. Also, a 10-round version of the standard magazine was created for markets that restrict the magazine capacity of handguns. And, Glock offers an extended 24 round (with flush base plate) magazine for the Glock 17. Finally, the Glock 17 can use the Glock 18's extended 33 round (with +2 base plate) magazine. The base plates for the extended magazines can be swapped out to create 26 and 31 round magazines as well

Also a standard-barrel version, but in this case, with a silver sliding) in Reality this is Just A Glock 17 Chambered with 40 Smith & Wesson for Better Punch. Perfect Pistol For FBI And Law Enforcement who looking better Punch but Maintain Controllability.

GLOCK 18
The Glock 18 is a Select Version variant of the Glock 17, designed for the Austrian counter-terrorist unit EKO Cobra. Introduced in 1986, it features a selective-fire option, allowing both fully automatic (1,100–1,200 RPM) and semi-automatic firing modes. The circular selector switch on the rear left side of the slide controls the firing mode. The pistol is often equipped with a 33-round magazine and can be used with or without a shoulder stock for added stability. This Particular Model is First Production of Glock 18 which marked by Extended Barrel and Lack of Compensator to Reduce the Recoil.

Thank you For @plazasims For Jill Valentine outfit & @mimoto-sims For Pose
GLOCK 18C
The Improved Model Of Glock 18. The compensator cuts start about halfway back on the top of the barrel. The two rear cuts are narrower than the two front cuts. The slide is hollowed, or dished-out, in a rectangular pattern between the rear of the ejection port and the rear sight. The rate of fire in fully automatic mode is around 1,100–1,200 rounds per minute. Most of the other characteristics are equivalent to the Glock 17, although the slide, frame, and certain fire-control parts of the Glock 18 are not interchangeable with other Glock models.

Compact
Compact is a relative term. These Glocks are still somewhat large with barrel lengths of 4.02 inches and grips that fill your hand. The slightly shorter grip and barrel length allow them to be easier to conceal and more comfortable to carry while maintaining control over the gun. That being said, this is the most popular category of the Glock sizes.
GLOCK 19
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Glock 19 is effectively a reduced-size Glock 17, called the "Compact" by the manufacturer. It was first produced in 1988, primarily for military and law enforcement. The Glock 19's barrel and pistol grip are shorter by about 12 mm (0.5 in) than the Glock 17, and it uses a magazine with a standard capacity of 15 rounds. A 10 round version of this magazine is also made for markets that restrict the magazine capacity of handguns. And, a "+2" base plate can make the standard magazine into a longer 17 round magazine. The pistol is also compatible with any magazines designed for the Glock 17 and Glock 18, providing factory magazine capacities of 17, 19, 24 and 33. Changing out base plates adds capacities of 26 or 31 rounds.
Subcompact
Subcompact Glocks are designed to be concealed carry weapons and backup guns. These guns sport ultra-short frames, and barrel lengths vary between 3.43 inches and 3.78 inches depending on caliber. These guns are straightforward to carry and conceal in almost any way you want.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Glock 26, a 9×19mm "subcompact" variant designed for concealed carry, was introduced in 1995, primarily for the civilian market. It has also been acquired by the US military and designated MK 26. Featuring a smaller frame compared to the Glock 19, the pistol grip supports only two fingers, and it has a shorter barrel and slide, along with a double-stack magazine with a standard capacity of 10 rounds. A factory magazine with a +2 extension gives it a capacity of 12 rounds. Additionally, the Glock 26 can use factory magazines from the Glock 17, Glock 18, and Glock 19. One can swap out base plates to give it capacities of 15, 17, 19, 24, 26, 31, and 33 rounds. More than simply a "shortened" Glock 19, the design of the subcompact Glock 26 required extensive rework of the frame, locking block, and spring assembly, which features a dual recoil spring.
Competition & Long Slide
By bigger than full-size, we are talking about guns mostly made for competition shooting. They have standard sized frames but longer slides and barrels. The longer slide and barrel gives a longer sight radius and a higher velocity, as well as less recoil and muzzle flip.
GLOCK 34
The Glock 34 is a competition version of the Glock 17. It is similar to its predecessor, the Glock 17L, but with a slightly shorter slide and barrel, to meet the maximum size requirements for many sanctioned action pistol sporting events. It was developed and produced in 1998, and compared to the Glock 17, features a 21 mm (0.8 in) longer barrel and slide. It has an extended magazine release, extended slide stop lever, 20 N trigger pull, and an adjustable rear sight. The sides at the front of the slide are slanted instead of squared. Further, the top of the slide and parts of its inside are milled out, creating a conspicuous hole at the top designed to reduce front-end muzzle weight to better balance the pistol and reduce the overall weight of the slide. The Glock 34 can accept any magazine the Glock 17 can accept.

CHAPTER 2 - An unknown, lack of supplies and death.
Tumblr media
Katherine observed the city in complete chaos and destruction, unsure of what was happening. Unable to cross to the other side of the avenue, Katherine and Leon got out of the pickup truck, both dressed as a pair of officers; they couldn't face such a situation unprotected. Katherine reached for a black, sturdy holster under the seat where she had been sitting before.
"The R.P.D isn't far from here. We can head over there and see what's happening. Once we have an answer, we'll figure out what to do," Leon suggested, expressing his thoughts on the situation they were facing. After getting confirmation from his wife, he handed her the gun that she had previously holstered, sharing some H&K VP70 and Heckler & Koch bullets, which practically used the same type of pistol ammunition.
"You go ahead, I've got your back," Katherine said, letting her husband lead the way towards the Racoon City Police Department. Meanwhile, Leon observed the chaotic situation of the streets: people biting each other, killing each other... and by the heavens, the zombie movies he had watched as a child had become a reality, which was utterly bizarre.
"I think I'm going to vomit," Katherine exclaimed after seeing a mangled body amidst the overturned cars, still protecting her beloved's back.
"You act like you've seen worse," Leon joked, trying to lighten the grim mood they were in, eliciting a brief laugh from his wife, which eased his heart.
"Over here!" a female voice shouted from the gates of the police department, causing the couple to glance at each other quickly before rushing over to see a girl with a ponytail and a red jacket waiting for them. As soon as the couple stepped inside the gate of the station, Leon slammed the lock shut, quickly moving away from the now barricaded gate covered with the undead.
"Katherine?" the redhead girl asked, observing the made-up face of the woman in high heels, prompting her to look at her quickly.
"Claire? Oh my God, who would've thought we'd meet like this," Katherine hugged the girl, who returned the gesture of affection and relief without hesitation.
"Do you two know each other?" Leon interrupted their embrace, and Katherine felt her face flush instantly, seeing Claire chuckle softly.
"I'm her brother's ex. Remember I told you I dated a member of S.T.A.R.S here in Racoon City?" Katherine asked, trying to jog her husband's memory, who quickly responded, "Redfield?" Scott asked and looked at Claire, who simply raised a hand and smiled. "Claire Redfield at your service," the girl in the red jacket made a brief salute and walked confidently towards the open door of the apparently empty police station.
"Damn," Katherine cursed, observing the mess inside the station: overturned benches, scattered papers, blood everywhere... what the hell was going on? While Leon went to check the passages to explore the area, Claire went up the stairs of the place, leaving Katherine to snoop around the open - and on - notebook on the counter of the reception of that once well-frequented police station, now only bearing traces of death.
"Leon, come here," Katherine shouted to her husband, who came to her immediately, stopping beside her as she showed him a policeman running from the infected people. "Take cover, sir. We're coming to your rescue," Leon said, seeing the signal drop instantly and handing a few more pistol bullets to his wife, followed by a female uniform and a vest. "Can't kill those things in high heels and white clothes, can you?" he handed her a pair of brand-new boots, apparently waiting for newcomers for their first day on the job.
Katherine didn't hesitate to change into the police uniform and her military boots; she felt a sigh of relief when she put on the bulletproof vest and saw that her husband was already wearing a police uniform and well-protected. "You're not one to keep waiting, are you?" she said to Leon, tying her long hair into a ponytail as they headed towards a semi-open automatic door. "Whatever happens, happens."
Leon went through the door first, turning on his flashlight and surveying the area: water mixing with blood on the floor, dead bodies everywhere, and no light whatsoever, which would definitely affect the couple's passage through the area. He helped Katherine through and signaled for her to stay quiet, explaining with hand gestures what needed to be done.
They couldn't risk saying anything and alerting more infected or whatever those things were. Silence was the solution for now, the solution for staying alive and together.
They waded through the sea of dead bodies as they headed towards the corridor, hearing the policeman yelling for help from afar. With Katherine's help, they managed to topple a shelf blocking the way. As they turned right and saw several officers dead in the most brutal ways possible, Leon felt a shiver run down his spine, while his stomach churned mercilessly. His superiors were dead, some without heads, others missing body parts, and some with their organs exposed. He felt a comforting hand on his shoulder and a tender kiss on his cheek.
"I'll be here, don't worry," Katherine whispered to the blonde, who turned his face to hers and planted a kiss full of affection on his lips, and as she pulled away, she could see the exact mark of her red lipstick on her husband's lips. Katherine kept watch as Leon entered the information room to open the door blocking the rescue of the policeman. Upon seeing the still alive body calling for help, he quickly pulled him, only to see the infected on the other side pull the body of the policeman, which was torn apart, leaving behind only a policeman with his organs out and no sign of life.
She noticed the small notebook left behind by the policeman and flipped through the pages, which had some kind of drawing symbolizing an exit through the parking lot. "This is it," she tucked the small notebook into one of her pockets and left the small room, seeing her wife with a pack of recently found water bottles. "Couldn't find food, but we have water for now," the black-haired woman handed the pack to her husband, who only thanked her with a brief kiss on her lips. "Let's go back," Leon said, briefly caressing his wife's back, and before she could ask about the policeman they had gone to rescue, he simply shook his head, silently returning to the door they had entered.
Once they returned to the main hall of the police station, Leon went to a fuse box wrapped in a tape that couldn't be torn by hand. With the knife from his uniform, he tore the tape and finally opened the fuse box, pressing the button and watching as the gate that had been previously barred was opened.
"Where's your friend?" Leon asked, and Katherine didn't know what to answer... she just shook her head as she reloaded her gun with ammunition.
A chill ran down her spine as she passed through the waiting room where they took the fingerprints.

OCs DESERVE BETTER -> Matilda Kennedy-Redfield (Resident Evil) FC: Ellie (Animated) / Kaitlyn Dever (Live Action)
“I’m a Kennedy. And a Redfield. Stubbornness and getting caught in the crossfire is practically written in my DNA.”
An anniversary of the Raccoon City Incident and too many drinks lead to Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield to act on their lingering attraction. Soon enough, Claire learns she’s pregnant, and after panicking, Leon does the only thing he can: proposes to her and promises to quit his borderline alcoholism for her and the baby. A premature baby, neither Leon nor Claire had been able to settle on a name for her, and somehow Chris ends up being the one to suggest her name: Matilda, after what Leon calls his beloved H&K VP70. Somehow, that name ends up sticking. And so Matilda Kennedy-Redfield is born.
Having a prominent TerraSave member as a mother, an infamous D.O.S. agent for a father, and a renowned B.S.A.A. founder and captain as an uncle means Matilda is no stranger to the world of B.O.W.’s. Try as they might to protect her, she makes a prime target for anyone wanting revenge. So in between being as normal of a kid as possible, she learns a variety of self-defense and weaponry from her dad and uncle, “just in case”. It also means it is not uncommon for her to have to spend days or weeks with her Uncle Chris, Aunt Jill, or adopted older sister Sherry when her parents have to leave the country. Despite the danger and seemingly constant threat, she wouldn’t change her family for anything.

James Bond After Fleming: The Continuation Novels
By Mark Edlitz
Art by Pat Carbajal, Cover by Sean Longmore
Ian Fleming wrote twelve original James Bond novels and two collections of short stories. Despite the cultural importance of Fleming’s 14 books, they represent just a fraction of the Bond novels. Since Fleming’s death, his estate has authorized the publication of numerous Bond novels and spin-off works.
These continuation novels include scores of books about Bond’s dangerous adventures, movie novelizations, a pseudo-biography, and various spin-off series about the teenage Bond, the Secret Service’s beloved secretary Miss Moneypenny, and the next generation agents in the Double O division. For the first time ever, Mark Edlitz offers a comprehensive overview of every exciting Bond adventure in one illustrated volume. Whether you are fully immersed in Bond’s world or new to the spy game, James Bond After Fleming is an essential reference book that is a must-have for any Bond fan.

The original Resident Evil 2 is being remade in first-person
Tumblr media
One of the best survival horror games ever created is still Resident Evil 2. The 1998 original, along with the equally fantastic RE2 Remake, is still worth playing today thanks to the famous RPD building and boss encounters like William Birkin. But now that Death Island has just been released and Capcom is supposedly looking at a Resident Evil Code Veronica remake, there will soon be a brand-new way to play Resident Evil 2, which has been first-person redone in the Unity engine. Developed by ‘perroautonomo,’ who has already created a first-person Unity remake of the original 1996 Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 offers a complete rebuild of the Raccoon City streets, RPD building, and beyond, faithfully reconstructed around the designs of the 1998 classic. Clutching Leon Kennedy’s faithful VP70, you can explore the central locations of Capcom’s classic, offering an entirely new perspective on iconic environments that are now a full 25 years old. Check it out below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq9kofHjss8 At the moment, the game is unavailable to play, and perroautonomo still needs to add items and combat encounters. But as a proof of concept, it’s clear this is a very sophisticated fan project, lovingly capturing the world of Resident Evil 2 in swift first-person. I especially like the moment when the helicopter comes crashing through the RPD wall, knocking Leon off of his feet. It’s a good showcase for what the new first-person perspective might add. Be sure to check this one out once it launches in full. Otherwise, you might want to take a look at Resident Evil 4 remade as a side-scrolling 2D shooter, or the new HD version of the original 1996 Resident Evil which totally transforms the entire Spencer Mansion. Alternatively, if you’re a nostalgia fiend, play some of the best old games that you can still get today on PC. You might also want to try the best zombie games, if you’re a veteran Raccoon City survivor. Read the full article
