Ok. I’m sorry I didn’t put this as an addition to another “realization “ post here in tumblr. (Mainly bcuz I couldn’t find any) But I just realized smth new about Voltron. To start, as a child with a lot of successful cousins and brothers and relatives in general, sometime in my life I felt like I needed to live up to them, and hence everyone in my life (included me) rarely heard phrases like “Congratulations” or “I’m proud of you” even from inside the family. So I was thinking maybe that’s what got Lance Going™ about Allura. That, by having a very big family, he didn’t get to hear validation phrases and maybe was sick of actions as a kind of love or affection language, so he found comfort in Allura’s words And that would also explain him being really insecure about his place with the paladins and how Keith’s very obvious love language (actions) wasn’t interesting for him. Anyway that’s my theory.

Been going through the comments on past chapters, and I literally start giggling and kicking my feet whenever someone talks about theories they have. Like can’t actually believe people read it and have their own theories. Love love love it.

was talking about this with friends but i also think having a good sense of when a story is headed in a direction you don't like is important for three reasons:
It helps you practice critical thinking skills / viewing something from a more objective and perhaps realistic lens. I have shows / stuff where even though I thought a story/plot decision or ship was a bad idea and it wasn't my preference, and even when I thought another story decision might make more sense, I was still able to recognize that "hey, this story is most likely going to go in this direction because of xyz" / setup and framing
This also means you can have an easier time leaving and/or getting out of a story when it begins to disappoint you / it can help build realistic expectations regarding the material in order for you to have a better time if you do stay.
And most importantly, perhaps, it just makes it all the more rewarding and exciting when you recognize a story is going in same the direction that you've hoped it would, because that is chef's kiss lemme tell you

Oh also as we know there are several types of galra: lizard-like, cat-like and etc. So my headcanon is that in their early history they could definetely had race conflicts or race wars even. And eventually they build an empire in order to unite
There's a chance that there could have been some conflicts at some point during ancient Daibazaallian history, I just wish that we knew more about their race and history.
I'll get back to this later because I think Dayak touched upon this subject at some point but I don't have time to get into it right now because I'm spending the holiday with my family

I only noticed this when making a collage, but all the galra in the arena's audience are wearing armor. There is a screen, so those farther back can see, and while I can't remember if the livestream is broadcasted or not [it's been a while since I've watched that episode], imo it would have greater worldbuilding implications if it didn't.
If the fights are not something the general public sees, then there is less resistance from civilian galra, who would be oblivious to the scale of violence the empire participates in. The fights would also act as desensitization for soldiers towards the death of those deemed "weak" or "lesser."
I think it would be interesting if getting to watch the fights was also something exclusive. Like new recruits wouldn't be allowed to attend, in fear that it might scare them away or radicalize them. Getting permission to attend after a certain amount of military service or reaching a certain rank would be considered a type of reward. Also, it could be seen as an opportunity to schmooze with higher ranked personnel and make connections. And with the military seeming to function similar to how nobility would in galran society, it would be a way for the everyday person to raise their and their family's status. Those aspects could be a reason why more people wouldn't be opposed to the fights happening in the first place. Why would they want to get rid of this achievement/opportunity to advance their place in society?

I got a flyer for some engineering camp and it has the past guest speakers listed. And get this:
Kate Gunderson, flight test engineering student at the National Pilot School and formers NASA engineer
Idk about you, but Kate is pretty close to Katie. And a NASA engineer and flight test student, I mean. You know what I'm saying.

Has anyone ever unpacked whatever's up with all the mysteriously-missing-but-very-much-alive moms of recent kids' media? AtLA might have started it with Ursa, but I'm mostly talking HTTYD 2, VLD, DuckTales, Enola Holmes, even goddamn Green Eggs & Ham — all stories with significant beats about a (usually male) protagonist reuniting with a disappeared mother whose long, unexpected absence is both traumatizing for her family and directly tied to her personal ambitions or career. Like, what's up. what's going on
