SETLIST FOUR : give it up for viva la vida nine!
@ shangri-la as the lead singer of viva la vida nine, you have little interest in anything other than your band and stealing the attention of the crowd from any other competitors. until you watch rival lead singer of pantera, nakamoto yuta, preform. cocky, charismatic, cavalier nakamoto yuta. the same nakamoto yuta who you cannot stand (him and the way he makes your knees feel weak). after that, you're much more interested in stealing his attention (though you'd rather die than admit it).
THURSDAY, AMP 08:00PM
Ten nudges your shoulder, a cheshire grin plastered against his lips as he signs hello to you, tilting his head to get a better look at the scowl on your face. The delight he takes in his constant teasing is nearly palpable, visible in the soft squint of his eyes and the lopsided quirk of his dimples. His hair falls over his eyes in thin strands, blonde bangs long enough to skim the bridge of his nose. His roots are growing in, dark brown hair burning at his scalp and slipping underneath the brighter blonde that frames his face with a doting curve. Blue colored contacts blink back at you but they do little to mask the teasing lit in his eyes.
“You really kicking me out?” His voice is still muffled, even with his cherry lips pressed up against your ear (sure to leave a vivid mark of his lipstick) and you find yourself biting back the hint of a smile. He can sense it too and you feel his lips curve into a broader smile, hot breath sticking to the curves of your ear and forcing a movement in your earrings.
“Keep it up and maybe I will,” you try your best to sound annoyed but there's too much affection in your voice to mistake the statement as anything with veracity.
Your response makes your bandmate hum, a low, baritone sound that mixes in too closely with the tuning of Johnny’s bass guitar for you to differentiate them. His fingers momentarily intertwine with yours, giving you a quick squeeze, before he’s raising his hands. Ten’s always had pretty hands, long fingers coated in tarnished gold rings and fingernails painted a vibrant color that always matches your own in some way or another. And when he signs with those pretty hands, he’s fluid and elegant. He signs the way he dances, each motion seamlessly flowing into one another to the extent in which you’re unsure of where one starts and the other ends.
The way he signs Yuta’s name is clunky, unused and unpracticed. The signs are choppy, each syllable pronounced with a harsh movement of his hand. He didn’t have to sign it, you didn’t need any other indication that he was about to preform than the shift of the curtain and the whine of the mic. And unlike Ten’s signage of his name, Yuta is anything but clumsy and unappealing to the eye.
If you heard the words that Ten was speaking against your ear and signing in front of you, you didn’t acknowledge them. So utterly captivated with the rival lead singer just a few hundred feet away that everything else has faded out with the sharp ring in your ears and the blur of your peripheral. Everything but him.
“You sure you don’t like him?”
09:35PM
“What are you so focused on?”
Johnny’s voice is just short of amusement, volume fluctuating with the strum of a few here and there cords from the band currently on stage--hooking up their instruments with the familiar squeal and whine of feedback. The question is directed to the lead singer who’s currently comfortably relaxed against the back bar of the venue, elbows digging into the wood paneling and head tossed ever-so-slightly back. His lips are pulling into a smug look of satisfaction, an expression otherwise unnoticeable if not for the benefit of knowing Yuta for so many years. There’s a cigarette held in between slim fingers and metal rings, unlit and crumpled as the blonde unconsciously toys with it as if he has forgotten it’s there in the first place. Not many things can make Yuta forget about a smoke. Not many people. In fact, his bandmate struggles to think of just one.
And in classic, expected fashion: Yuta declines the privilege of a reply. But it doesn’t take long for Johnny to follow the line of his vision. Sliding over tousled hair and through crowds of groupies. Past the small security detail on the left and just before the barricade of the stage. Straight towards you. He grins, the full extent of his entertainment showing on his face as clear as day. Even though Yuta wasn’t looking, he could feel it. It’s enough to cause the smallest twitch in his eye as he readies himself for the inevitable, taunting comment.
“Oh, I see,” he nudges the blondes shoulder, “Lead singer of Viva La Vida Nine,”
If anything were to get his acknowledgement in this conversation, it would certainly be the topic of recognizing you. Or, misidentifying you. Yuta turns partially, brows set in a downward line and lips pulled into a pout. Expression scrunched and eyes narrowed as he finally dignifies Johnny with a response.
“What? No,”
Johnny returns Yuta’s puzzled countenance with one of his own, raising his brow as his tongue pushes against the bottom row of his teeth. He swallows, looking to his bandmate and then to you, and then Yuta, again, and then back to you. He blinks a few times before raising a thin hand, knuckles a soft red and veins catching on the dim orange hues of the bar. Johnny gestures in your direction, finger perfectly poised at the back of your head. “So you’re not staring at her,”
And Yuta follows like a moth to a flame, eyes slipping against the flesh of the older man’s finger, skimming his nail, before meeting the forty-five degree angle of your jaw. He looks longer than necessary, a few seconds of a lingering glance which Johnny notes with a miniscule upwards dart in the corner of his lips (one that if Yuta had noticed he would have returned with a scowl). The confusion of the situation allows for leeway in an honest admission, words slipping out without a single thought on the matter. A confession met without penance. “Yeah, I am,”
“Right. Yn. The lead singer of Viva La Vida Nine,”
“No,” Yuta’s fully turned now, shooting Johnny an incredulous look that matches his tone, “That’s my fan,”
The emphasis on ‘my’ doesn’t fall on deaf ears. Nor does the conscious (or unconscious) decision to use it. You’re not ours, not Pantera’s, but Yuta’s. And based on his tone, Yuta’s alone. Knowing you (or at least the stories about you), Johnny doesn’t think that would be a sentiment that you would find particularly endearing. He meets his bandmate’s gaze with an equally perplexed one, tone in disbelief and perhaps the slightest hint of vexation that is mellowed over by the amused lit to his words. “Your fan? Don’t tell me she’s the one who you’re all lovey dovey for,”
“I’m not lovey dovey,” it’s the wrong denial provided as Yuta waves him off lazily, rolling his eyes, “It’s just interest. Can’t I be interested in one of my fans?”
My. Again.
“Not when your supposed fan is the lead singer of our rival band,”
And with those words being said (for what feels like the millionth time), Johnny swears he can hear the slightest snap in Yuta’s patience, a sharp sound that’s as clear as the strings on his bass. “She’s not the lead singer of Viva La Vida Nine. I met her after our last gig, I watched her the whole set. I’m telling you she’s-”
“Yn of Viva La Vida Nine,”
Your voice is entangled with the audible whine of the mic on stage, pulling Yuta’s attention with a harsh tug and the whisk of his eyes back to the center of the bar. He turned so quickly, so urgently that Johnny swears he got whiplash. An idea that bubbles laughter in the back of his throat, a sound that Yuta has all but cut out. There’s no bandmate, there’s no cheering crowd, no clink of the bottles at the bar, there’s nothing. Absolutely nothing. Well, but you.
Yuta Nakamoto considers himself to be a rather practical man. He’s never worshiped anything. Never fallen into the thinly veiled trap of complete and utter obsession. He’s not an addict, not someone who is constantly chasing the adrenaline of a high. He sticks to what’s in front of him, what he’s good at, what can make a crowd scream or earn him a few more bucks then the last song did. He has never faltered with any desire. Any compulsion. Craving. Yuta Nakamoto is a practical man through and through.
But, oh god, it’s taking all he has not to fall to his knees and worship you.

LOST CHAPTER LEVELS!!!
Mata5a6ur0 is a robot created by Core
There is not much information about him lol
He is the level square fears the most because he is so much, so crazy and so fast paced lol
Core is proud of him for being a mad ass killing machine lol
Yokuman stage (yokumon) is jealous of Mata5a6ur0 for being carefree and wild but it could be a rivals to lovers sort of thing lol
Btw I named him after the Japanese story "Matasaburo" because of the connection with wind and air
Fūha is heavily touhou inspired and is basically a tengu from Japanese folklore! (Last tile also refers to a game character, so I headcannon that she's into gacha games and board games)
Her name means "wind waves" in Japanese but in Chinese (or mandarin) it means "crisis" (I learned that from a friend)
Fox/kitsune is her mentor, she looks up to katana blaster/ kusanagi despite being scary, she's a bit conservative and introverted around the other assasins such as on the run/rikoto and pretty much looks down on Incognizant/nachtfalter
Fuha also likes Crystal tokyo/ houseki for being purehearted and innocent but is irritated by how naive and brightly friendly she is to her (she's kinda gay lol)
Stjärna!!! My favorite level! He's a top fashion designer (I think somewhat a distant relative to granite) definitely arts and crafts dude with ✨️sass✨️ idk why though he's Strangley a half circle/square
His name means "star" in Swedish
Cascade/licht also makes clothes but usually makes fireworks as it's also his hobby and both licht and stjarna are mutual friends about it lol
Unlocked/xanadu is kinda hated by stjarna
Granite and stjarna relate because of art block and are related to eachother as family
Born survivor/ azim is his boyfriend. His support at the very most and encourages him with no judgment
Blixer and Azim are both music artists
Though, blixer is a guitarist and a dj while azim is a singer
Azim is probably one of the chill levels out of the cave levels and even cheers on the player
Azim is mentally mute, he can't speak or sing due to some sort of trauma he has experienced in his life but surely can make noises but uses the mask speaker to talk and sing, perhaps he will one day speak out in his own voice without the speaker
Azim means "never give up"
Square looks up to him, just like kitsune, boat, cube and corrupted/viva and actually has fun battling him, even singing along to his song
Azim wants to collaborate with cube and blixer in a song one day
Azim and stjarna met eachother when both their dreams were crushed by society, expectations and personal trauma but one day stjarna made him the speaker because stjarna was expected to be a technical engineer by his family and not some girly boy with a passion for fanart, but it's what sparked Azim to encourage stjarna to pursue his dream because he could sing again, stjarna saw this as something he could only do but it was big for Azim (so both pursued their dreams in the end by helping eachother out when they had nothing)

Bobby Singer was the person who knew her best, and she had never wondered what life would be like without him; he was omniscient, an immortal deity, and when Roman hit him with a bullet, the world stopped; she felt no sensation, as if under anesthesia. She seemed to stare at the entrance to the emergency room for an eternity and thanked Dean for carrying her in time to hear his last "idiots" and "princess" as he said goodbye for the last time to the children he was so proud of.
"I have to be with him. I have to be with him." she cried desperately as they pulled her away and she tried in vain to cling to every piece of furniture to keep from leaving the room, until the Winchesters intervened to calm her down.
Weeks passed. Lachelle would stay until five in the morning staring into the void, and Dean would lie beside her, hugging her as she tried to cry silently. The boys reacted first, devoting one to work and the other to Roman; she, on the other hand, was unable to formulate a thought, ate infrequently and dragged herself to the bathroom if it was essential.
Sam was sitting at the foot of the bed and was trying to persuade her to leave the room.
"Come with me, I have a case. You have to resume sooner or later, you are a hunter."
"I am really nothing."
"You save lives." he continued, raising his voice, attracting the attention of his brother, who leaned over, crossed his arms and watched them in silence.
"I don't want to save anyone. So many people die, why should others be saved?" there was rancor in the voice; it was not a good feeling, but at least it was reactions compared to the flat electrocardiogram of the last month.
When the two hunters came out, she cried and then calmed herself by listening to loud music; the rumble of the bass pulsing in her ears tickled the skin along her arms as the warmth of tears flowed and came thinly to her lips. Her vision was completely blurred by scenes like faded-colored photographs: a hand from Bobby on her shoulder, a reassuring hug from him, a "don't worry, I'm here" look. She felt her air lacking, as if her lungs were no longer able to channel oxygen. Looking up she swallowed all the saliva, closed them again and saw him still with his back to her as she prepared lunch, his head tilted to hold the phone as he spoke, a glance at the TV on the news or a soap. Her heart was pounding, she felt constant pounding in her temples, and she hoped one of them was strong enough to knock her out. She dropped onto a bed and fell asleep. When they returned, the Winchesters agreed that no matter how much they might suffer, they always had each other; she had no one left.
"We won't leave her alone, Sammy," Dean ordered, looking at his brother.
"As of today I have a sister," Sam confirmed, then joined her in bed.
He arranged the rolled sheets and the movements made her wake up. She watched with a pale face as her friend settled beside her and reached diagonally to dive his head onto his chest: it was a thank you, sorry, she didn't know exactly, but they knew it implied she loved him.
"You know you are important to Dean and me. We are here for you. I know it's not the same, but don't ever think you're alone. Okay?"
Little by little they also managed to take her out to eat, although she was not the same sunny person behind the dark mask; it was as if the dark part had come out.
"He said they put turmeric. I don't know what the hell it is but it's good. Do you want to?" Dean flashed her an awkward smile with chips hanging from his mouth to get her to respond, but she merely shook her head. "Bon Jovi, you and me, a beer, um? Bryan Adams, too, if you want."
"No." she whispered at least her favorite word instead of silence.
He reached out to move the unruly wisp behind her ear and she let her face rest on his warm hand, then rested her head on his shoulder. She closed her eyes, felt a kiss on the top of her head, and was reassured by the hand that continued to brush her hair.
It took time but the day came when they saw her in fashionable jeans under a blue satin blouse, heeled boots and freshly done nails.
"Where do we stand with your vindictive bullshit?" she entered the living room.
"Have you changed your mind?" they asked looking at each other and then at her.
"No, revenge is stupid, but I'm not abandoning the team and..." she looked in horror at the accumulated papers on the table. "Someone has to save the world. If we wait for Batman..."

Rock Hard - April 1996, Interview with Flake
Thanks to Ramjohn for the scans!
It's been a long time since a national newcomer in such a short space of time as Rammstein. In addition to the excellent debut work 'Herzeleid' and the charismatic charisma of the musicians, this is mainly due to the literally hot gigs, which their reputation as a spectacular modern version of Alice Cooper and (masked) Kiss shows already precedes. It was not for nothing that the club tour that just ended was sold out almost everywhere.
"We don't want to be a bloated hype, we want to earn our fans in order to win them over for the long term," says keyboardist Flake. « That's why we withdrew our already shot video of ‘Du riechst so gut’. It just came too soon, the timing wasn't right. When people talk about Rammstein, they should have the band in mind and not the band with the 'great' clip that's always on MTV or Viva. »
Especially in the five expensive federal states, the influx was enormous with well over 1,000 visitors per show. However, Flake doesn't want to know anything about the East-West divide: « For example, we also had over 800 paying guests in Bochum. »
On the other hand, there were only 300 in Duisburg due to capacity and not more in Cologne shortly before. In my opinion it cannot be denied that the Ossis are more open to the Electro-Metal genre; the drastic differences in popularity of bands like Oomph! or Think About Mutation in West and East make this abundantly clear. For Flake, however, the reunion seems to be complete in every respect. In view of the different culture that has developed over the decades (USSR-oriented instead of USA-oriented), this assumption is quite naive. Just like Flake outright. Incomprehension for the assumption expressed by some sides that Rammstein could be a right-wing group. Of course, there is no solid basis for this rumor after a thorough examination of the band and their songs - but anyone who lets themselves be photographed for record covers as a 'gentlemen' with a neat short hairstyle and a naked, oiled upper body, sings in German with a rolling 'R' and titles like ‘Weißes Fleisch’ — it could just as easily be black, red, yellow or just naked meat — shouldn't be surprised if hypersensitive leftists quickly miscategorize it.
However, Flake finds the accusation so absurd that he doesn't even consider it necessary to take it seriously. Laconically, he only remarks: "I think we look like golden-brown broilers (East German word for 'grilled chicken') on the cover. On the one hand it was summer at the time — that's why the tops were bare — and on the other hand we didn't want to look like bums — that's why the neat hairstyles. »
Art needs inner tension as a driving force. These have Rammstein in abundance, even if they present themselves as a unit. Six musicians, six opinions - that promotes the creative process, but makes it almost impossible for the individual to realize themselves one hundred percent. Nevertheless, Flake and guitarist Paul in particular, who both used to play in the punk band Feeling B, try to live out their generally cheerful disposition on stage instead of subordinating themselves to the pathos that is embodied above all by singer Till.
« We both don't take the image that seriously, and that's why we don't bow to Till either. If he takes it seriously, that's his business. »
But the front man doesn't seem to take his theatrics that seriously, because during the show in Duisburg he had to skip a whole verse of 'Das alte lied' because he got a fit of laughter after a dildo blow job . Personally, I would find Rammstein much more intense if all six members would also implement the brutal music and rough poetry on stage visually, but the at least partially possible self-realization of the individual musicians is of course an understandable argument for the supposedly contradictory performance.
« We don't want to create a specific image. Although we have a defined framework, each of us can move freely within it. »
As much as I believe the musicians are best friends, I believe they have countless internal battles over the band. After all, they wear a stage outfit specially designed for them and invest several thousand marks in pyro effects at every gig.
In view of this financial expense, which only serves the optics (and thus the image), the scope for the individual is inevitably smaller.
"Not necessarily," counters Flake, "because we just want to entertain and offer the audience a colorful evening - whether with flamethrowers or funny gimmicks.”
That's all well and good, but in view of the specific reference to the tragic Rammstein plane crash, I don't think there's any room for humorous aspects. After all, it would be extremely tasteless to use such a catastrophe with umpteen deaths as a cheap shock effect. However, it is precisely these permanent contradictions that are fascinating about the Rammstein phenomenon, which can never be fathomed in detail because every band member represents a different point of view and there is therefore no ultimate overall statement at all. Curious about the extreme plurality of opinions: Rammstein never give interviews together, because otherwise they would constantly contradict each other.
In the "Wa(h)re Liebe" program (VOX) from 29.02. a certain Yvonne was a guest, who had already unpacked her Sado/Maso preferences under the pseudonym Marlene as the cover model in "Stern". This self-assured woman, who initially said that she was thoughtful and well survived, suddenly freaked out and yelled like a teenager that she really wanted to get to know Rammstein and would do anything (!!!) for the boys. When the band elicits such extreme reactions even from relatively mature personalities, the image obviously cannot fail to have an effect. Not to mention the drooling hordes of wench folk who routinely rule the front rows at the shows. What do Rammstein have that others don't? Is it the musicians' looks? Is it the pumping mid-tempo grooves? Is it the current show gimmicks like dildo and S/M gear (mask, whip, harness and leash)? Or is it lyrics like 'Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?' ('Sex is a battle, love is war.'), 'Weißes Fleisch' ('Red welts on white skin, I hurt it and you whine loudly .') or 'Du riechst so gut' ('I can't see you, I can feel you.')?
Yvonne or.
Unfortunately, Marlene or whatever-her-name didn't reveal it during her TV appearance, and Flake doesn't have an answer either. Till, who is said to have broken countless hearts and is already a father of several, certainly knows one, but at Rammstein there is - as I said - only one interviewee per journalist.
This also makes it difficult to look ahead, which Rammstein gave us during the tour in the form of the three new songs 'Sehnsucht' (in the 'Herzeleid' style), 'Spiel mit mir' (the keyboard and guitar theme is strongly reminiscent of the Krupps ) and 'Feuerräder' (groovy Techno/House instrumental at around 140 bpm).
Flake doesn't really want to let the cat out of the bag and mainly limits himself to general statements like: «We are not limited in any way and just compose as it develops. Maybe we'll go more in the Techno direction soon, maybe not. »
I tend to bet on the former, because with the commitment of the really good Berlin scene DJ Komm, who played the pre- and post-program of the club gigs and even jammed with the band in the middle part of 'Weißes Fleisch', the boys have a clear sign set. In addition, it can be heard between the lines that Till will possibly sing more than speak on the second work, in order to ensure a certain degree of variety.
The only concrete statement from Flake: «On the next album there will be a song called 'Der wilde Wein', which we actually wanted to record for 'Herzeleid': without guitar and drums, only with vocals and keyboard. »
But before we completely digress into the future, it is not necessary to work through the current disc. Director David Lynch took a liking to it and chose Self Destruction, Final ('Rammstein' and an instrumental version of 'Heirate mich') alongside Nine Inch Nails' for his new film 'Lost Highway'.
« We sent him and some other interesting directors like Stephen Kind our disc to get a statement for a possible video shoot. However, due to lack of time, David was not able to deal with 'Herzeleid' at first - his cameramen and assistants even more so. Eventually he asked the film crew what they were listening to all the time, and that's how he came up with us. Maybe working together on a clip will work out in the future. »
However, the iconic filmmaker is far from the only prominent Rammstein fan. Clawfinger, whose producer Jacob Hellner is responsible for the controls for 'Herzeleid', and the Ramones, who engaged the promising newcomers as the opener for their farewell tour, are also among them. With an understandable touch of pride, which he is almost embarrassed about, Flake reports that Joey & Co. even wore Rammstein T-shirts at their Berlin gig.
A certain modesty is also evident in other areas. For example, there is no cast list with the names of the musicians printed in the booklet. That means: What counts is the band collective and not the individual. This attitude is even reflected in the autographs that the keyboard player gives during our interview. Instead of strikingly brushed line structures, as known from doctors and rock stars, Mr. Lorenz paints his pseudonym neatly in meaningless block letters.
« If it gets too much for me, I just put a stamp on it. It also counts as a real autograph, because after all I only have the one. »
You certainly can't accuse him of being a fan fool. As one of very few bands, Rammstein allow their fans free backstage access ten minutes after the show.
Whether this nice gesture can be granted for a long time is questionable in view of the daily increase in the number of visitors on the tour...

The Masked Singer: S6, E4 Running Commentary
I’m watching on a slight delay again tonight, but here it is. As always, I post before watching any unmasking, so these are not to be taken as spoilers.
Bull 🐮: Shown DJing, a pic of Carnegie Hall. The Internet consensus suggests this is Todrick Hall, who is best known for his YouTube channel, although I remember him from season 6 of American Idol. (He was in the Top 24, but failed to make it to the Final 12.) I think the picture of Carnegie Hall is simply a reference to his surname, Hall, since he usually goes by just Todrick. The wrapping could suggest he’s also a rapper, and Todrick has done some hip hop.
Hamster 🐹: A picture of a Basset hound. The Internet was suggesting one of these was Larry the Cable Guy, but I’m not completely convinced yet. It is worth noting that he does use an exaggerated Southern accent when performing in his Larry the Cable Guy persona, and there is footage out there from early in his career where he’s performing standup in his natural Nebraska accent, so he could be speaking and singing in different accents. The blue helmet could indicate the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. But I also am not ruling out Rob Schneider. His daughter is singer Elle King, so there’s a possibility she inherited her singing ability from him. (Just a guess.)
Skunk 🦨: We saw Pufferfish’s 🐡 mask, so she may have worked with Toni Braxton (revealed to be Pufferfish). Or the pufferfish could refer to Sean “Puffy”/“Puff Daddy”/whatever nickname you want to use Combs. I’m still thinking that this is Faith Evans, and she and her late husband Notorious B.I.G./Biggie Smalls both worked with Puffy and were signed to his label, Bad Boy Records. Faith was also featured on Puffy’s song “I’ll Be Missing You” (which also featured the group 112), which was recorded and released in tribute to Biggie after his tragic murder in 1997. As for the “Family size” clue, one of Puffy’s projects was called “Puff Daddy and The Bad Boy Family”.
Baby 👶: A tooth, a raspberry, and a bus. He was speaking in an English accent, and singing The Flintstones theme, which makes me think of Mark Addy from Still Standing, who was in The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas. The “Grease” had me thinking John Travolta, but given the clues from last time, Bruce Willis seems to fit, too.
Pepper 🌶: Chiliwood sign, tic tac toe (TikTok?). She kind of sounds like Jessie J or Natasha Bedingfield. There’s also roller skates and a reference to Olivia Rodrigo’s song “Driver’s License”. Supposedly, the “blonde girl” referenced in the lyrics is an actress by the name of Sabrina Carpenter (who first rose to fame on Disney’s Girl Meets World), who has been seen out and about with Joshua Bassett (who is Olivia’s costar in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), whose alleged breakup with Rodrigo was the inspiration not just for “Driver’s License”, but her entire debut album, Sour. So, I think I’m going to go with Sabrina Carpenter at this time.

John Singer Sargent "El jaleo", 1882
Once, the Andalusian ‘Flamenco singer’ Pastora Pavon, La Niña de Los Peines, sombre Spanish genius, equal in power of fancy to Goya or Rafael el Gallo, was singing in a little tavern in Cadiz. She played with her voice of shadows, with her voice of beaten tin, with her mossy voice, she tangled it in her hair, or soaked it in manzanilla or abandoned it to dark distant briars. But, there was nothing there: it was useless. The audience remained silent.
In the room was Ignacio Espeleta, handsome as a Roman tortoise. In the room was Elvira, fiery aristocrat, whore from Seville, descended in line from Soledad Vargos, who in ’30 didn’t wish to marry with a Rothschild, because he wasn’t her equal in blood. In the room were the Floridas, whom people think are butchers, but who in reality are millennial priests who still sacrifice bulls to Geryon, and in the corner was that formidable breeder of bulls, Don Pablo Murube, with the look of a Cretan mask. Pastora Pavon finished her song in silence. Only, a little man, one of those dancing midgets who leap up suddenly from behind brandy bottles, sarcastically, in a very soft voice, said: ‘Viva, Paris!’ as if to say: ‘Here ability is not important, nor technique, nor skill. What matters here is something other.’
Then La Niña de Los Peines got up like a madwoman, trembling like a medieval mourner, and drank, in one gulp, a huge glass of fiery spirits, and began to sing with a scorched throat, without voice, breath, colour, but…with duende. She managed to tear down the scaffolding of the song, but allow through a furious, burning duende, friend to those winds heavy with sand, that make listeners tear at their clothes with the same rhythm as the Negroes of the Antilles in their rite, huddled before the statue of Santa Bárbara.
La Niña de Los Peines had to tear apart her voice, because she knew experts were listening, who demanded not form but the marrow of form, pure music with a body lean enough to float on air. She had to rob herself of skill and safety: that is to say, banish her Muse, and be helpless, so her duende might come, and deign to struggle with her at close quarters. And how she sang! Her voice no longer at play, her voice a jet of blood, worthy of her pain and her sincerity, opened like a ten-fingered hand as in the feet, nailed there but storm-filled, of a Christ by Juan de Juni.
The arrival of the duende presupposes a radical change to all the old kinds of form, brings totally unknown and fresh sensations, with the qualities of a newly created rose, miraculous, generating an almost religious enthusiam...

BIOGRAFIA

HBO Max New Releases: December 2021
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Wake up, Neo.
It’s December 2021 and to celebrate HBO Max is bringing back a classic sci-fi franchise for one last ride. The list of new releases on HBO Max this month is highlighted by The Matrix Resurrections on Dec. 22. This is the long-awaited return to the reality-bending saga from The Wachowskis. Writer/director Lana Wachowski returns as do stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss as Neo and Trinity, respectively. This time around it’s 20 years after The Matrix Revolutions and “Neo lives a seemingly ordinary life as Thomas A. Anderson in San Francisco where his therapist prescribes him blue pills. Neither he nor Trinity recognize each other. However, Morpheus offers him the red pill and reopens his mind to the world of the Matrix.”
While The Matrix Resurrections is the big draw this time around, HBO Max has some other intriguing originals to speak of. The David Thewlis and Olivia Colman-starring limited series Landscapers premieres on Dec. 6. That’s followed by Sex and the City revival And Just Like That… on Dec. 9 and post-apocalyptic drama Station Eleven on Dec. 16. Young Justice even gets back in on the action with season 4 part A premiering on Dec. 30.
It’s also a strong month for library titles. Jackie Brown, No Country for Old Men, and Interview with the Vampire arrive on Dec. 1. Then Space Jam: A New Legacy (Dec. 2) and The Suicide Squad (Dec. 23) return to HBO Max a bit later on.

Writing is hard
gfycat.com
I use a lot of tools to help my writing. Of course, I use the spellcheck in the program, but that is just stage one. I also use ProWriting Aid. It is a great program and like a spellcheck on steroids! I also use Grammarly. Also a great program.
You would think using this many programs would be a bit like wearing a belt and suspenders. Just overkill... but no.
While I love all the feedback from these programs (except for the passive voice notices - apparently I am an incredibly passive writer!), they have no style.
What does that mean? All of these programs are so focused on what is technically correct, that they have no room for individuality. Don't get me wrong, good grammar is awesome! But if the author's voice doesn't shine through, just a bit, the writing is dead on the page. It will read like a text book. No fun (unless that is what you are going for).
So, use those tools, but remember: Viva la Voce!

Album cover art
An album cover is the front of the packaging of a commercially released audio recording product, or album. The term can refer to either the printed cardboard covers typically used to package sets of 10 in (25 cm) and 12 in (30 cm) 78-rpm records, single and sets of 12 in (30 cm) LPs, sets of 45 rpm records (either in several connected sleeves or a box), or the front-facing panel of a CD package, and, increasingly, the primary image accompanying a digital download of the album, or of its individual tracks. In the case of all types of tangible records, it also serves as part of the protective sleeve. Cover art it is either an artwork as illustration or photograph on the outside of a published product such as a book (often on a dust jacket), magazine, newspaper (tabloid), comic book, video game (box art), DVD, CD, videotape, or music album (album art). The art has a primarily commercial function, i.e., to promote the product it is displayed on, but can also have an aesthetic function, and may be artistically connected to the product, such as with art by the creator of the product. Scribes and typographers (today’s cover artists), like architects, have been shaping visual spaces for countless years. Certain proportions keep recurring in their work because they please the eye and the mind, just as certain sizes keep recurring because they are comfortable to the hand. Even the Web benefits. For too long typographic style and its accompanying attention to detail have been overlooked by website designers.... In years gone by this could have been put down to the technology, but now the web has caught up. Cover art not only sells, but enhances function, form and content of published works. Album cover art is artwork created for a music album. Notable album cover art includes Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon, King Crimson's In the Court of the Crimson King, The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Abbey Road and their "White Album" among others. Albums can have cover art created by the musician, as with Joni Mitchell's Clouds, or by an associated musician, such as Bob Dylan's artwork for the cover of Music From Big Pink, by The Band, Dylan's backup band's first album. Artists known for their album cover art include Alex Steinweiss, an early pioneer in album cover art, Roger Dean, and the Hipgnosis studio. Some album art may cause controversy because of nudity, offending churches, trademark or others. There have been numerous books documenting album cover art, particularly rock and jazz album covers. Steinweiss was an art director and graphic designer who brought custom artwork to record album covers and invented the first packaging for long-playing records. The cover became an important part of the culture of music. Under the influence of designers like Bob Cato,[citation needed] who at various stages in his long music career was vice president of creative services at both Columbia Records and United Artists, album covers became renowned for being a marketing tool and an expression of artistic intent. Album art has also been discussed as an important postwar cultural expression. [pt_view id="53c7ae3stn"] During the early 1960s, the Beatles With the Beatles, Bob Dylan's The Times They Are a-Changin' and the Rolling Stones' self-titled debut album each contained a cover photograph designed to further the musical artist's public image. Author Peter Doggett also highlights the cover of Otis Redding's Otis Blue, containing a photo of a young white woman, as a design that "played a dual role: she represented the transcendent power of the music, and obscured the race of its creator." The standard portrait-based LP cover was further challenged over 1965–66 by Dylan's Bringing It All Back Home, through the inclusion of symbolic artefacts around the singer; the artificially stretched faces of the Beatles shown on their Rubber Soul album; and the darkened hues applied to the Rolling Stones on Aftermath. Gatefold covers (a folded double cover) and inserts, often with lyric sheets, made the album cover a desirable work in its own right. Notable examples are the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which had cut-out inserts, printed lyrics, and a gatefold sleeve, even though it was a single album; the Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street, which had a gatefold and a series of 12 perforated postcards as inserts (taken by photographer Norman Seeff); and Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon, which had a gatefold, lyrics, no title on the sleeve, and poster and sticker inserts. The Band's 1970 release Stage Fright, which included a photograph by Seeff as a poster insert, is an early example of LP artwork quickly becoming a collector's item. The move to the small (less than 1/4 the size of a record) CD format lost that impact, although attempts have been made to create a more desirable packaging for the CD format, for example the reissue of Sgt. Pepper, which had a cardboard box and booklet, or the use of oversized packaging. The importance of design was such that some cover artists specialised or gained fame through their work. Such people include the design team Hipgnosis, through their work on Pink Floyd albums, amongst others; Roger Dean, famous for his Yes and Greenslade covers; Cal Schenkel, for Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica and Frank Zappa's We're Only in It for the Money. The talents of many photographers and illustrators from both inside and outside of the music industry have been used to produce a vast array of memorable LP/CD covers. Photographer Mick Rock produced some of the most iconographic album covers of the 1970s, including Queen's Queen II (recreated for their classic music video Bohemian Rhapsody), Syd Barrett's The Madcap Laughs, and Lou Reed's Transformer. From 1972 to 1975, photographer Norman Seeff was Creative Director at United Artists and in addition to his many cover photographs (The Band, Kiss's Hotter than Hell, Joni Mitchell's Hejira etc.), he art directed dozens of album covers including Exile on Main Street, many of which received Grammy nominations. In addition to the examples mentioned previously, a number of world-renowned graphic artists and illustrators such as Ed Repka (Megadeth), Andy Warhol (The Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones), Mati Klarwein (Santana, Miles Davis), H. R. Giger (Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Debbie Harry), Frank Frazetta (Molly Hatchet), Derek Riggs (Iron Maiden), Jamie Reid (The Sex Pistols), Howard Finster (R.E.M., Talking Heads), Al Hirschfeld (Aerosmith), Ken Kelly (Kiss, Manowar), Gottfried Helnwein (Marilyn Manson), Rex Ray (David Bowie), Robert Crumb (Big Brother & the Holding Company), John Van Hamersveld (The Rolling Stones), and Shepard Fairey (Johnny Cash) have all applied their talents to memorable music packages. A number of record covers have also used images licensed (or borrowed from the public domain) from artists of bygone eras. Well-known examples of this include the cover of Derek and the Dominos Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs (from the painting "La Fille au Bouquet" by French painter and sculptor Émile Théodore Frandsen de Schomberg), 'The Downfall of Icarus' by Genisson on the cover of the first album by Renaissance; Bosch on the cover of Deep Purple; Breugel on the cover of Fleet Foxes; the cover of Kansas's debut album, adapted from a mural by painter John Steuart Curry, Norman Rockwell's cowboy (Pure Prairie League), and, more recently, Coldplay's Viva La Vida, which features Eugène Delacroix's painting Liberty Leading the People (a favorite in The Louvre) with the words "VIVA LA VIDA" brushed on top in white paint. Legends from photography and video/film who have also produced record cover images include Drew Struzan (Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Iron Butterfly, The Beach Boys and others), Annie Leibovitz (John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith), Richard Avedon (Whitney Houston, Teddy Pendergrass), David LaChappelle (No Doubt, Elton John), Anton Corbijn (U2, The Killers, Depeche Mode), Karl Ferris (Jimi Hendrix, Donovan, The Hollies), Robert Mapplethorpe (Patti Smith, Peter Gabriel) and Francesco Scavullo (Diana Ross, Edgar Winter), David Michael Kennedy others. A number of artists and bands feature members who are, in their own right, accomplished illustrators, designers and photographers and whose talents are exhibited in the artwork they produced for their own recordings. Examples include Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin IV), Chris Mars (Replacements' Pleased to Meet Me and others), Marilyn Manson (Lest We Forget...), Michael Stipe (REM's Accelerator), Thom Yorke (credited as "Tchocky" on misc. Radiohead records), Michael Brecker (Ringorama), Freddie Mercury (Queen I), Lynsey De Paul (Surprise), John Entwistle (Who By Numbers), Graham Coxon (13 and most solo albums), Mike Shinoda (various Linkin Park albums), Joni Mitchell (Miles of Aisles and several others) as well for Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (So Far), and M.I.A. (credited variously on Elastica's The Menace, her records), and Captain Beefheart, 'Mona Bone Jakon', 'Tea for the Tillerman' and 'Teaser and the Firecat' by Cat Stevens, Mika (all albums released to date), Music from Big Pink (for The Band), Self Portrait and Planet Waves by Bob Dylan, Walls and Bridges by John Lennon. Album cover art was the subject of a 2013 documentary film, The Cover Story: Album Art, by Eric Christensen, a San Francisco Bay Area record collector. The physical design of album covers has been the subject of creative innovation. Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by the Small Faces was originally in a circular metal tin, and Happy to Meet – Sorry to Part by Horslips was in an octagonal package. Anyway by Family was originally issued in an opaque plastic package through which a design (a Leonardo sketch) could be seen. Magical Mystery Tour by the Beatles was first released as a double EP with a booklet between the records. Sgt. Pepper contained a cardboard sheet of images, and The Beatles (often referred to as the White Album) contained four large glossy photos of the individual Beatles along with a poster-sized collage. Live at Leeds by The Who also contained a generous supply of posters and printed material. Led Zeppelin III had a front cover that contained a revolving disc which brought different images into view through small cut-outs in the outer sleeve. A similar effect was used for the band's later album Physical Graffiti with cut-outs of the windows of a brownstone building. The original issue of Sticky Fingers by the Rolling Stones had an actual zipper incorporated into the picture of the crotch area of a pair of jeans. The Velvet Underground and Nico album had a Warhol-designed cardboard banana on the cover that could be peeled back. The record company Vertigo had a black-and-white design on the centre label that produced a hypnotic optical effect when the disc revolved on the turntable. The album cover is a component of the overall packaging of an album. Especially in the case of vinyl records with cardboard sleeves, these packages are prone to wear and tear, although wear and tear does often take place to some degree on covers contained within plastic cases. A variety of treatments could be applied to improve both their appearance and durability, such as clear plastic wrap. Many products have been available for the storage of vinyl albums, often clear plastic sleeves. The surface of a vinyl record is readily damaged, so aside from the outer cardboard sleeve, there is usually an inner protective cover to protect against dust and handling. This is normally shaped to allow it to readily slide within the outer cover. The inner sleeve is either thin white paper, either plain or printed with information on other recordings available from the same company, or a paper sleeve supporting a thin plastic bag. These quite often have a circular cut out so that the record label can be read without directly handling the record, though when the inner sleeve is printed with lyrics, which became quite common, then there is usually no hole. Decca Records used a system of colour-coding on these sleeves where a blue color denoted a stereophonic recording while red denoted a monophonic recording (the mono record players of the time were not always compatible with stereo records). This system was begun in the 1960s to reduce packaging costs. Packaging formats for compact discs widened the variety of presentations as well, even as the size of the CD meant that album covers were no longer so large. Besides the practicalities of identifying specific records, album covers serve the purpose of advertising the musical contents on the LP, through the use of graphic design, photography, and/or illustration. An album cover normally has the artist's name, sometimes in logo form; and the album title. Occasionally, though more common on historical vinyl records, the cover may include a reference number; a branding (the label), and possibly a track listing. Other information is seldom included on the cover, and is usually contained on the rear or interior of the packaging, such as a track listing together with a more detailed list of those involved in making the record, band members, guest performers, engineers and producer. On the spine of the package, the artist, title, and reference number are usually repeated so that albums can be identified while tightly packed on a shelf. With the increasing popularity of digital music downloading services and the inflating cost of conducting business, the purpose and prevalence of the album cover is evolving. While the music industry tries to keep up with technological and cultural shifts, the role that packaging (and thus the "album cover") will play in consumer music sales in the near future is uncertain, although its role is certainly changing[citation needed], and digital forms of packaging will continue to surface, which, to some degree (and to some consumers) take the place of physical packaging. Both MP3 and WMA music files are able to contain embedded digital album artworks (called cover images or simply covers) in jpeg format. As of 2008, physical music products, with a physical "album cover", continue to outsell digital downloads. In August 2008, album cover designer Peter Saville, responsible for cover art on albums by New Order and Roxy Music, suggested that the album cover was dead. Alternately, some artists have used Internet technology to generate even more cover art. For instance, Nine Inch Nails initially released its album The Slip as a free download on the band's website, attaching separate but thematically connected images to each individual track. One digital solution is the iTunes LP format for interactive album artwork introduced by Apple on 9 September 2009. Album art is still considered a vital part of the listening experience to many, and despite the less-tangible nature of digital images, there are still many collectors trading cover art and music.

Cheers Katyjay I use NeoClarityn which works well, luckily I am not too bad yet, just sneezing etc, but usually my eyes are really bad, and I'd prefer them not to be in the middle of exams. I find the same with playing the flute, I have to keep blowing my nose, and yes if you take too big a breath you do start coughing. How does affect you worst? (e.g you can get eye drops, and sprays and things) Guest: DomRUK_* 03 Jun 2005 I used to get hayfever quite a bit, but when I was being prayed for with church friends, I got the word "pollution" about it (I used to cycle a lot), so I started wearing a cycle mask, and it helped a great deal. I still try to be careful not to get too much pollution into the car through the cool air blowers too. Guest: Emma C_* 03 Jun 2005 Sounds like you ming need to visit the doctor. I used to get asthema wih it - all cleared up now, but he have me two inhalers, and it stopped the coughing, especially at night. Hayfever is soooo miserable. Guest: nicki_flute_* 03 Jun 2005 Yes, I went to the doctors, they might be able to give you some stronger, non drowsy stuff, that you can only get by prescription. Guest: uberzoldat_* 03 Jun 2005 My hayfever is usually terrible too. I have found in the past that most medication is useless. My advice to you would be cut your dairy intake. Also I am trying Flaxseed Oil, which is supposed to be very good. I will let you know if it works for me. Doesn't it just drive you nuts when the back of your throat and inside of ears itch? Doesn't it just drive you nuts when the back of your throat and inside of ears itch? I don't usually get that, but it sounds awful! I'd want to itch them!! Guest: thouston_* 03 Jun 2005 I've only started getting it in the last few years - very unfair. I take over the counter stuff which controls it at the beginning and end of the season, but for july-August it's just a case of 'no top notes'. Yes, I agree that the itching inside throat/ears/nose is about as nasty as it gets. You feel like you want to insert pipe-cleaners to scratch it... Guest: uberzoldat_* 03 Jun 2005 QUOTE(thouston @ Jun 3 2005, 07:07 PM) Yes, I agree that the itching inside throat/ears/nose is about as nasty as it gets. You feel like you want to insert pipe-cleaners to scratch it... I've been thinking about several cocktail sticks selotaped together. I'm not sure how it affects my singing. I have been singing for less than a year, but my voice has on and off days according to how high the pollen count is, so I guess singing is out of the question for the next two months or so. Guest: Emma C_* 03 Jun 2005 Does hayfever / the thought of winter colds determine when people might apply for exams? I don't get hayfever now, but think twice about doing an exam in the winter. What happens if singers should get a cold before the exam? Guest: katyjay_* 04 Jun 2005 Very seriously, folks, don't EVER put anything in your ears or down your throat, regardless of how much they itch. For the throat, I find I can get temporary relief just before singing by drinking very cold sparkling (not still) mineral water - but not so much of it that it makes you burp, of course blink.gif - and the effect doesn't last long. For the itchy face, eyes etc, washing with very cold water helps temporarily as well, so I do that before I sing if it's hayfever time. But both of these are temporary, and tend to wear off over the course of about an hour (which is what happened yesterday). I'm on fairly strong antihistamines already, and don't know how much more I can do to cope with the irritation. I suppose hayfever, colds and snuffles are an occupational hazard for any singer. If you feel that are going down with a cold just before an exam, as much as possible stop practising or talking to save your voice and drink gallons of hot water laced with lemon juice and chopped-up ginger root. Quite often I find that a cold won't actually kick in until the day after the big performance, when it hits hard! That's what happened to me last winter - I finally succumbed to a cold the day after my ATCL exam, at which point I lost my voice completely, and couldn't sing in my choir's Christmas concert sad.gif Ho hum! Cheers Katyjay Guest: nicki_flute_* 04 Jun 2005 QUOTE(katyjay @ Jun 4 2005, 08:28 AM) For the throat, I find I can get temporary relief just before singing by drinking very cold sparkling (not still) mineral water - but not so much of it that it makes you burp, of course blink.gif - and the effect doesn't last long. Hmm, maybe there is a cream or something, you sound like the pollen really irritates your skin. Have you seen your doctor recently? Does anyone know where to get a pollen forecast from, as the BBC one no longer works for me. Oooh, I have just thought, if you suffer badly from hayfever, you can get injections, which are supposed to work well, maybe see your doctor about this one. Yes, I will reiterate this. Of course I would never poke anything in ears nose throat, etc. Very dangerous. After I sang a lot in one go recently, I lost my voice the next day and didn't get it back properly for about 2 months. dry.gif As for hayfever, I just whinge about mine and don't take any prescribed medication. Guest: nicki_flute_* 04 Jun 2005 Maybe you should take some medication smile.gif Guest: uberzoldat_* 04 Jun 2005 I use flaxseed oil, but I refuse to use prescribed medication that has been rammed down some poor animal's throat first.
