I'm watching a LOT of dramas at the moment which is bewildering since I have exams and my passion seems to have lessened since many dramas were unsatisfactory this year, it just doesn't feel right. Even the kdrama I liked the most this year, lovely runner, has no rewatch value at all. I don't know if my tastes have changed and then boom the most cliché dizi in Türkiye iş the one that brings me back, Uzak Şehir. Shocking.

Uzak şehir leads to maybe my ultimate favourite drama of the year which isn't even finished yet and is also Turkish 🤷🏼

I won't lie I skip many scenes where Cüneyd and Zeynep are absent but when they are on my screen especially when they're together I feel like a tail-wagging dog 🐶.

I'm going to yap a lot about Cünzey but on a separate post. Wait for it.

Surprisingly enough, I don't skip that much because I like the Secondary stories Kaya and Naréh are my favourites

If Judith McNaught wrote a story about some people who are a part of a kinda criminal feudal social system and live in the lands of Mesopotamia...this was the vibe when I got as watching the first episode. Old-school, cliche, too much fiction, enemies-to-lovers, forced marriage.

I know this show is the remake of Al Hayba-Lebanese Netflix Tv Series. I watched just two episodes of it, I think. Many things seemed to be changed and I am sure the story will completely take a different route, because each episode must be 120 minutes length, so they can't afford to make an adaptation faithful to the source material.

Dramatic first meetings...

Dramatic shots...

Intense fights...

But sometimes soft sparks too...

First hesitation...

And your WTF moment... Anton Chekhov gun theory is tested again and in the most dramatic way. Because if the female lead shoots the male lead, it probably means this is how their love starts.

I usually don't watch this genre. When I say "this genre" I mean the fact that this particular weird and most of the time unrealistic social system is the main element of the show. It's like Yakuza/Mafia love stories but this one is more off-putting for me. I just need some distractions, so I may continue watching it, it just depends on how the male lead will be written. I already skipped some parts of the show, there are some things that don't sit right with me. So, not expecting much from it.

The tension between them can make your hair curl.

Aren't you afraid at all that my mother might do something to you again? Alya: I am not. Thanks to you all, I am not, I can not. Aren't you afraid? That I might slice your throat? Why did you never tell me about this Cihan? Cihan: I don't like to talk about my past. As for the future, you are gonna marry just for your son, right? You don't have another purpose, right, Alya?

This is the couple we root for. Lol.

Sigh… He's made a huuuuuge mistake. We, unfortunately, will have to watch its consequences. Now, the trust between them is broken. She has every right to not trust him anymore and he's very well aware of it, that's why he suspects she might do something dangerous.

Sadakat is so unpredictable because she acts first and then they show the reason in the next episode, lol. For example nobody could have ever guessed she thought Alya's the real intention was to kill Cihan. Like, the woman is definitely cruel, I know, but then in the flashback we saw Cihan's first wife really tried to kill him. This Şeyda matter is more complicated than it seems. Demir will be a pain in the neck, that's for sure, he is always around them and seeding doubts between the family members.

He doesn't like her word choice about "darkness". It's like she was saying they were rotten to the core and he's too proud to be called that. His intention might not be evil - that's why he found the word bothersome- but in the end he didn't act fairly and disappointed her.
