The addendum that Lino Akesolo put in in Azkue's dictionary says this regarding phoneme "i": "it seems that, as a suffix, it wants to express "appearance". Zuri [white]: with the appearence of wood (zur). Gorri [red]: with the appearance of meat, of something raw (gordin). Hori [yellow]: with the appearance of a dog (hor)." So, even though I confess Lino's hypthesis seems very hypothetical to me, it would come to strengthen my theories, one way or another. Additionally, it's known that ancient peoples didn't distinguish more than those three colours we found in our cattle: white, red, and black. Later, we have urdina [blue], that comes from ur [water]. Those four main colors are our oldest ones, and they are the same in many other ancient cultures. In ancient China, for example, there was a celebration for each season and, precisely, to each season belonged an animal and a color: to spring, the blue dragon; to summer, the red bird; to autumn, the white tiger; and to winter, the black turtle. How suprising! Why does color always appear so close together to animals?
From Patziku Perurena's "Koloreak euskal usarioan" [Colors in Basque tradition].

Waterfall Hikes
The municipality of Tubungan is only around 40 kilometers from the provincial seat, Iloilo City. It is considerably simpler to point to any adjacent town or municipality after you get in the city, since you may do so by bus, jeepney, or motorbike, among other modes of transportation. Furthermore, traveling by motorbike with your buddies is a lot of fun. This location encourages tranquility and relaxation. Tubungan is proud of these breathtaking natural wonders that, if developed and correctly promoted, may become a significant tourist attraction in the province of Iloilo. Let me guide you to nature, Enjoy!
Cruz sa Balabago
This cross was built in the memory of the late Fr. Isidro Badreba who died depending and spreading the Catholicism among the Babaylan. This was located at Sitio Balabago, Bgy. Batga, Tubungan, Iloilo . Cruz sa Balabago in Barangay Batga is around 7.50 kilometers away from the town center.
On Holy Thursday, the Panait ritual is re-enacted near the Cross sa Balabago where Babaylans from neighboring towns and provinces gather on the site they call the holy well or El Pozo Santo which still exists even up to this day. Rituals are performed to ask for good weather, rain or to thank the ancestral spirit for good harvest and energized themselves.
Mt. Linguhob
The most effective treatments for mental illnesses I believe it can be found in nature, at least according to my personal theory and experience. The opportunity to connect and disconnect from the poisonous and hectic environment. Alternatively, we might just enjoy basic successes like as reaching to the top of mountain peaks. It'll never be simple, but people who journey to mountain peaks have a difficult time bringing their souls back with them.
Aside from stunning white sand beaches, Western Visayas is also home to magnificent mountains just waiting for someone to appreciate them. Mt. Linguhob, in Brgy. Igtuble, Tubungan, Iloilo City, is one of them, with a magnificent view of its visible mountain ridges, which serves as a pasture for most farm animals and local agricultural fields. Mt. Lingguhob is a great place to unwind after a long week of stress. This blog could be useful for individuals who want to go out of town for a few hours and explore nature, or for those who just want to cross something off their bucket list.
The journey towards the peak requires you to use both hands and knees Make sure you’re geared up with eye goggles to protect your eyes and gloves for you not to cut your hands while holding the grasses’ sharp blades to prevent you from slipping down.
Bato Sumpit
With its 10-meter high falls and spouting water in a crystal-like stonewall behind the falls, it resembles a "maiden's pearl" and runs directly into a natural basin. Picnickers and nature enthusiasts flock to Bgy.Igtuble on a regular basis.
The ten-meter Tubig Sumpit, which translates to "rushing water," is excellent for visitors and nature enthusiasts looking for a relaxing getaway with crystal-clear, cold water, close proximity to beautiful landscapes, and a sense of adventure.
Mt. Pinihakan Daraga
Is a mountain range in Brgy. Igtuble that can be accessed by trekking along the mountain route and is said to be a mythological location that resembles the Urdina, Biladyong, and Balanakon triangle.

PARACELSUS, Diane di Prima 1990
Extract the juice which is itself a Light. Pulp, manna, gentle Theriasin, ergot like mold on flame, these red leaves bursting from mesquite by the side of dry creekbed. Extract the tar, the sticky substance heart of things (each plant a star, extract the juice of stars by circular stillation smear the inner man w/the coction till he burn like worms of light in quicksilver not the false puffballs of marshfire, extract the heart of the empty heart it is full of the star soul that paces fierce in the deeps of earth the Red Man, healer in furs who carries a club who carries the pale homunculus in his belly. For you are angel, you call the soul from plants or pearls of ambergris out of the grudging sea. Extract arcanum. Separate true Archeus from the false the bitter is not less potent—nor does clarity bespeak truth. Out of the heart of the ineffable draw the black flecks of matter & from these the cold, blue fire. Dry water. Immerse yourself though it be but a drop. This Iliaster flowers like the wind. Out of the ash, the Eidolon of the world Crystalline. Perfect.

Merry Christmas! What does Basque cheese taste like? How do you exchanges presents on Christmas?
Kaixo ta Eguberri On!
We usually give the presents on Christmas morning, some other people leave them under the tree on Christmas Eve night and open them at 00.00. There’s no special rite or tradition regarding presents-giving if that’s what you were asking ^_^.
Regarding cheese! There are 4 kinds of Basque cheese:
Idiazabal: the most famous one, made of Latxa sheep milk. Can be smoked - our favourite - or not.
Urdina: it’s a soft, creamy cheese with an intense flavour.
Erronkari: also made of sheep milk, it’s consumed more aged than Idiazabal, which makes it scaly, with a very intense smell and flavour, some cheeses even get a little tangy in the mouth.
Ossau-Iraty: also our favourites, they’re also made with sheep milk and have quite a thick rind and a very complex flavour, it reminds of hazelnuts sometimes.

This came out a couple months ago, but it’s a really good song. The video is also very thought-provoking, and I feel like it has an interesting message. All in all, the whole thing is about embracing change and one’s own flaws, and I like the fact that it’s neither completely positive nor completely negative, but somewhere in between – just like all of us.
Atea itxita La porta tancada The door, closed Leihotik begira Mirant per la finestra Looking out the window Gorriak ezpainak Els llavis, vermells Lips, red Ilea urdina Els cabells, grisos Hair, grey Malko txiki bat Una llàgrima petita A small tear Zu gogoratzean A recordar-te While remembering you Irribarre handia Un somriure gran A big smile Zoriontasuna Felicitat Happiness

[ ERREPIKA: Kea bezala airean Com fum a l’aire Like smoke in the air Hegan nabil gauean Vaig volant a la nit I go flying in the night Dantza luze batean En un ball llarg In a long dance Miazkatuz haizea Llepant el vent Licking the wind ]
