heyho! how did you learn how to draw and make art in general? i find your artstyle visually pleasing and nice to look at, i wish to one day be able to draw like you but i don't know where to begin 😞 also what are your art inspirations?

i know this is a cliche answer but i self-taught myself and improved quickly in my early years simply by attaching to a character i really liked and drawing them nonstop especially during my school days (and that character eventually morphed into my oc kaizer) because my ADHD ass didn't want to do anything with school loL genuinely though this is one of the best ways to learn is just to get really obsessed with something and draw it and branch out from there after you've had your fill dont be like me completely though when it comes to studying with art, you should absolutely do fundamental studies too (still life/etc) . i was stubborn and didnt really do it because i dont find a lot of joy in it but i think its kinda stunted my abilities that i never did in recent years though i went from drawing characters just standing/busts in an empty space to realizing i love drawing actual scenes with characters interacting with their environments and it has forced me to learn ways to streamline my art process and learn to do backgrounds. its been fun but now ive gotten way too ambitious and perfectionistic about one-uping myself and burnt myself out so im currently working on re-finding my passion and ways to work around that perfectionism. so thats kinda where i am rn...?

anyway, its really a matter of finding an obsession and honing in on it like i said . so do that but dont get so obsessed you ignore important stuff like i have done haHA

sidenote. don't fuck up your wrist listen to artists when they say you should not overexert it and do stretches because im fucked with carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists already at age 23 whoops. also references. dont be afraid to use those theyre so important it took me so many years to not be stubborn about them and that also stunted me anyway when it comes to my art inspirations/??? a lot of it is just aesthetics of various media ive absorbed into my brain and jumbled around, but when it comes to actual individual artists here are some im heavily inspired by on the visual art side (warning for nsfw/suggestive works on some of these artists pages)

Can I just say I'm in love with the new softer style of shading you've been using as of late? Like, don't get me wrong, I already love your standard sharp, hard, more 2D style of shading, it's sooo goood. But then this newer style? Ooooh my gawddd it's so delicious. Everything looks so glassy smooth, yet textured, if that makes sense? idk how you do it but oh my god it's buttery smooth on my eyeholes. It's like visual ASMR. I don't know how to explain it aside from these vague gestures.

Ogh, your pixel art slaps, your cartoonier style of hard-lined shading is gorgeous, and now your soft shaded style is just ooooooog it's godly. I want to distill it and then inject it into my veins. I want to eat it. I want to weave it into a silken fabric, tailor it into bedsheets, and sleep in it.

I usually do prefer to do the more sharp rendering tbh but I've been getting really inspired by various art id come across on twitter that utilizes soft shading. Specifically Rainbowdeww and Urano000. That and some 2000s inspiration I've been trying to implement aspects of in my art I've been wanting to get used to softer rendering bc of it. I'm not the best with it but I'm trying to get better :o

been wanting to know, what are some of your biggest art inspirations?

its hard to pin down for me like, allllll the inspos that shaped my art into what it is today n shit, but I def think like the big 3 that are pretty noticeable in my art (at least if you know my interests lol) are early 2000s SEGA promo art, primarily Sonic (Or just anything Sonic Team worked on in the early 2000s lol), Promo Art made for Doll Brands in the 2000s/early 2010s (Monster High being the main culprit but Bratz CERTAINLY left an impact on kid me lol), and anime in general. I think shit like the og Sailor Moon, FLCL, and fucking Panty & Stocking were the biggest anime inspos lol).

I also got a lot of inspo from artists I've been following since I was like 10 or 11, the main ones being zumyume, pikozumo, eelbunny, marsoids, urano000, and indigonite (all of whom are on instagram, which is the only site I was on before I turned 18, but they're on diff sites lol)? I think that's the good majority of them, I know I looked at those guys art A LOT when I'd try drawing stuff that wasn't normal for my art style back in the day, and I still cherish their art n' look at it when I wanna try evolving my style even further nowadays.

Currently, I'm pulling inspo directly from some people I know and/or am tight with because I love their art and think they're doing fuckin' GANGBUSTERS with how gorgeous their shit is. People like meaowo, parentaladvisory, basement buddy, ur m0nster, creedei, carrotandlemon, I think those are my mains atm! When I'm feeling down about my art or low on motivation I just take a stroll through their galleries and I immediately get a rush to draw shit that's on their level of talented and stunning lol.
