Our very own Sadie Greyduck just released a brand new album! If you love sparkles, fae vibes, feelings, baby lambs, chopped samples, and live instrumentation, please check out her newest album, "Baa".
Going to introduce an addendum that requires all goth bands to have a bass. It doesn't even have to be a bass guitar; it can be an upright bass, bassoon, bass harmonica, I don't care - just a bass something.
i'm working on upright bass in addition to electric but i don't have any rosin for my bow so i can't use the bow (it's got absolutely zero rosin. will not make a sound against the strings, even when optimally tightened. very sad) and that makes it hard to play the songs i want to play :(
i want to play shine you no more by rune tonsgaard sorenson and the danish string quartet but most of that song is bowed. i'm using cello music because it's the best i could find, and there's a brief pit staccato part, but i think the bass is only playing arco.
because actually pit staccato is not very nice in my opinion. i love fingerstyle on my electric (pick makes it harder to get the rhythm) but on upright i don't like it so much. you gotta angle your fingers different than how you do on electric and you don't have pickups to rest your thumb on so it's just more ungainly in my opinion + BLISTERS. useful for jazz though. but none of what i want to play is even remotely jazz :/
A follow-up to this post where I showed a WIP of this. It's Idol Mouse with a double bass BECAUSE MY INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS WON AND I WANTED TO >:3c
Originally I was gonna draw her with a violin (because she said she played it in the past), but I wanted to do something more unique. No, I'm not digging on her size--quite the opposite in fact. I can picture her rocking a double bass despite her size; why wouldn't she?
I meant to do more of these VTuber-with-an-instrument doodles for a personal "Drawtober" (and I may still do some of that), but my sights are on some... other things at the moment. 👀
