The Silver Collective
Tumblr media
In a small, quaint town nestled in the hills, lived a man named Roxas. His ginger hair and beard often caught the attention of passersby, but it was his heart full of love and compassion that truly defined him.
Roxas' days were often filled with acts of kindness, his smile brightening the days of those around him. He would spend hours helping out in the community garden, lending a hand to anyone in need, and always ready with a listening ear. Yet, for reasons unknown to him, the townsfolk kept their distance. They whispered behind his back, casting sideways glances, and treating him like an outsider. Roxas felt a growing ache in his heart, a longing to be understood and accepted.
Tumblr media
One crisp autumn morning, Roxas decided to host a small gathering in his modest home. He invited everyone in the town, hoping to bridge the gap and share his love for spirals. Roxas had a unique fascination with spirals—a seemingly simple shape that held profound meaning for him. To most, it was just a quirky obsession, but to Roxas, the spiral represented growth, continuity, and the interconnectedness of all things. In moments of solitude, he would sketch spirals, finding solace and peace in their endless curves.
He decorated his walls with his intricate spiral sketches, filled the room with the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread, and adorned the table with vibrant, spiraled flower arrangements.
Tumblr media
As the townsfolk arrived, they cautiously entered his home, their eyes darting around in curiosity. Roxas greeted each guest warmly, offering them a slice of bread and a cup of tea. He shared stories of how the spiral had always been a symbol of hope and resilience in his life, explaining how he saw it as a reminder that life's journey was full of twists and turns, but always moving forward.
Despite his heartfelt explanations, many of the guests struggled to see beyond their preconceived notions. They viewed his fascination with spirals as an oddity, a peculiar quirk that set him apart. Some even found it unsettling, unable to grasp the depth of its meaning to Roxas. As the evening drew to a close, the guests bid their farewells, leaving Roxas alone in his spiraled sanctuary.
Feeling disheartened, Roxas retreated to his small studio. While surfing the web, Roxas stumbled upon an image that captured his heart—a unique silver spiral that shimmered with an otherworldly glow. Unlike anything he had seen before, the spiral radiated a sense of tranquility and peace. Roxas felt an inexplicable connection to the spiral, as if it understood the depths of his soul.
Tumblr media
In that moment, he resolved not to let the misunderstanding and ostracism define him. Roxas decided it was time to share this sense of serenity with others. He would spread the message of love and unity. He envisioned a space on the internet where anyone seeking brotherhood, safety, and love could come together and feel valued. Inspired by the newfound peace the silver spiral brought him, the idea of the Silver Collective was born.
With unwavering determination, Roxas set out to create this digital haven. He designed an online platform that radiated warmth and welcoming energy. He posted positive images of unity and diversity with silver as a commonality while incorporating his other love for baseball.
Tumblr media
Each post symbolizing the unique journeys of those who joined the collective. Word of the Silver Collective spread, attracting individuals from all corners of the globe—Japan, the Middle East, Europe, and America. People who had felt isolated, misunderstood, or lost found a sense of belonging within its virtual walls. The allure of the silver elements created an atmosphere of peace and unity, drawing people in with its calming glow.
Tumblr media
Roxas, with his compassionate heart and understanding nature, became the guiding light for the collective, offering support and love to all who sought it. The silver spiral that had once brought peace to Roxas now radiated its tranquility to countless others, weaving a tapestry of connected lives and shared stories.
Over time, the Silver Collective became more than just a virtual space; it evolved into a symbol of unity and resilience. The shimmering silver drew people together, fostering a global community where men felt safe, cared for, and loved like family.
And so, the Silver Collective thrived, a testament to Roxas' unwavering belief in the power of love and compassion.

The Unifying Power of Islam: Binding Diverse People Together
Tumblr media
In a world fragmented by differences, Islam stands out as a unifying force that transcends cultural, racial, and geographical boundaries. Its ability to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds into an international community is a testament to its enduring beauty and relevance in today’s society.
One of the most fascinating ways in which Muslims feel a connection between fellow muslims worldwide is by the means of a common and endearing greeting: “Assalamu Alaykum” (peace be upon you, commonly shortened to “Salam” or peace)
Islam emphasises the fundamental unity of humanity, teaching that all people are descendants of Adam and Eve, and thus, all races and communities are equal in the eyes of the Divine. The Quran states:
“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted” (Quran 49:13).
This verse underscores the importance of recognising our shared humanity and fostering mutual understanding among diverse communities.
The Brotherhood of Believers
Central to Islam is the concept of brotherhood/sisterhood among believers.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever” (Sahih Bukhari).
This Hadith highlights the interconnectedness of believers and emphasizes the importance of empathy and support within the Muslim community.
Unity in Worship
Five times a day, Muslims around the world turn towards the Kaaba in Mecca, united in prayer, united in direction and united in purpose of worship. This act of collective worship, known as Salah, serves as a powerful symbol of unity and solidarity among Muslims regardless of their geographical location or cultural background. It reinforces the notion that despite our differences, we are bound together by a common faith and devotion to God.
“We have been seeing you turning your face to the heavens. So, We will certainly assign to you a Qiblah that you would like. Now, turn your face in the direction of the Sacred Mosque (Al-Masjid-ul-Harām), and (O Muslims), wherever you are, turn your faces in its direction. Even those who have been given the Book know well that it is the truth from their Lord, and Allah is not unaware of what they do.” [Quran 2:144]
Social Justice and Equality
Islam places a strong emphasis on social justice and equality, advocating for the fair treatment of all individuals irrespective of their race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself” (Sahih Bukhari). This Hadith underscores the importance of empathy and fairness in our interactions with others, fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity within society.
Cultural Diversity within Islam
Islam is not monolithic, but rather encompasses a rich mosaic of cultures, languages, and traditions from around the world. This diversity is celebrated within the Islamic framework, with different communities bringing their unique customs and practices to the fold of Islam while maintaining their identity as Muslims. The Quran affirms this diversity, stating:
“And among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the diversity of your languages and colours. Indeed, in that are signs for those of knowledge” (Quran 30:22)
In a world marked by division and discord, Islam offers a path towards unity, compassion, and understanding. Its teachings inspire individuals to transcend their differences and come together in pursuit of a common purpose: to worship Allah and serve humanity.

The becoming of women can bring about a transvaluation of values. Faith can come to be understood in a non-authoritarian and universalist sense. Hope, rather than being restricted to expectation of rewards for conformity, can come to be experienced and understood as creative, political, and revolutionary. Love will mean uniting to overcome oppression. It will be understood that the most loving thing one can do for the oppressor is to fight the oppressive situation that destroys both the oppressor and the oppressed. Suffering, which has been so highly esteemed in Christianity, will be seen as acceptable not when abjectly and submissively endured, but when experienced in the struggle for liberation.
The ethic emerging in the struggle has as its main theme not prudence but existential courage. This is the courage to risk economic and social security for the sake of liberation. It means not only risking the loss of jobs, friends, and social approval, but also facing the nameless anxieties encountered in new and uncharted territory. There is the anxiety of meaninglessness that can be overwhelming at times when the old simple meanings, role definitions, and life expectations have been rooted out and rejected openly, and a woman emerges into a world without models. There is also the anxiety of guilt over refusing to do what society demands, an anxiety which can still hold a woman in its grip long after the guilt has been recognized as false. To affirm oneself and one's sisters in the face of all this requires courage.
Such courage expresses itself in sisterhood, which is not at all merely the female counterpart of brotherhood. Sisterhood is a revolutionary fact. It is the bonding of those who have never bonded before, for the purpose of overcoming sexism and its effects, both internal and external. It is the coming together of those who are oppressed by sexual definition. The Christian churches have been fond of preaching the "brotherhood of man," which included women incidentally, as baggage. However, the concept has never been realized because brotherhood in patriarchy, despite frequent attempts to universalize the term, is exclusive and divisive. "Brother" means us versus them. It begins by excluding women as "the other" and continues its divisiveness from there, cutting off "the other" by familial, tribal, racial, national, economic, and ideological cate-gories.
Women are learning to be aware that brotherhood, even when it attempts to be universal, means a male universalism. The churches, the peace movement, the New Left, for the most part fail to notice the need for change in the situation of the more than 50 percent female membership of the groups to which they would extend their brotherhood.
The "sisterhoods" of patriarchal society have really been mini-brotherhoods, following male models and serving male purposes. The religious sisterhoods within the Catholic Church, for example, have been male-dominated according to Canon Law. These communities, though they have offered an alternative to marriage and attracted some gifted women, have used the word "sister" in an elitist and divisive sense and have supported the ideology of sexism.
The sisterhood of women's liberation involves a strategic polarization which is different from all of this. It implies polarization for the sake of women's internal wholeness or oneness, because as in the case of all oppressed groups, women suffer from a duality of consciousness. We have internalized the image that the oppressor has of us and are therefore divided against ourselves and against each other by self-hatred. We can only overcome this by bonding with each other. Sisterhood implies polarization also for the sake of political oneness, to achieve liberation. However, its essential dynamic is directed to overcoming the stereotypes that reduce people to the role of "the other." That is, it points toward a unity deeper than most theologians are capable of envisaging, despite the great amount of ink that has been spilled on the subject of "the bonds of charity."
Sisterhood is an event that is new under the sun. It is healing, revolutionary, and revelatory—which is what Christian brotherhood was claimed to be but failed to be. It is at war with the idols of patriarchal religion, but it is in harmony with what is authentic in the ideals of the religious traditions. In this sense, the movement in its deepest dimension is itself both anti-church and church. It has the potential to release the authentic values that have been distorted and suppressed by the sexism of synagogue and church.

BASICS OF ISLAM: Fasting: What are the benefits of fasting for the society?
a. Fasting ensures the unity and harmony of society
Fasting (especially when observed in Ramadan) leads to a positive change in the attitudes of the believers towards each other.
The sense of empathy it invokes helps the faster understand other people better and makes it easier for them to make friends and socialize. The usual activities of Ramadan that are common to all believers, such as fasting during the same month, waiting for the time to break the fast in the evening, congregational Tarawih Prayers observed in the mosque after breaking the fast, and getting up at night to have the pre-dawn meal (sahur) before beginning the fast all foster the brotherhood and affection among the believers. In particular, the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr) and the Eid celebration (Eid al-Fitr) at the end of Ramadan strengthen the social ties among believers.
Allah’s Messenger says:
“The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, and fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb aches, the whole body aches because of sleeplessness and fever.”
Therefore, believers feel themselves to be the limbs of one body and this feeling strengthens the solidarity and friendship in the community.
Actually, during Ramadan all members of a family sit at the table and wait together for the time to break the fast; in Islam it is recommended that all family members sit at the dining table together. Inviting relatives, friends, neighbors and even strangers to iftar (the meal that one eats to break the fast) is highly recommended as well. Friends converse and wait together for the same event, and experience the same feelings. They feel tenderhearted toward each other, and in fact toward all living beings, because of the hunger they feel. They have neither time nor energy for enmity or grudges. These affectionate feelings continue after Ramadan, for fasting is a period of training.
b. Fasting raises awareness of the situation of the poor
Fasting teaches the rich, who eat good, nutritious food and never suffer from hunger, what hunger is.
When they stay hungry and thirsty for a period they begin to think about the poor and feel empathy for them. The rich then desire to help the poor and needy, as fasting makes it possible for them to empathize with the poor and to see the hard and challenging conditions they live in. On the other hand, because of the kindness and compassion of the rich, the poor are less likely to feel envy and hatred toward those who are better off. Thus, a change of attitude on both sides can occur. The enmity between both social strata can be brought to an end in this way with peace and security prevailing in society. The idea of restoring social justice, security, and peace so easily is quite exciting as well as being difficult to believe. However, this is a fact based on experience and on the teachings of Islam.
The Messenger of Allah says:
“Those who are full while their neighbors are hungry are not of us.”
It is clear that there is deep wisdom in obeying the rules prescribed by Allah and carrying out such acts of worship that have many personal and social benefits, even if only some of these benefits have been made known to us. Abstaining from food not only makes us healthy, but also makes us a perfect member of the community.
c. Fasting develops dignity
People who have persevered against hardships, such as hunger and thirst, and have thus trained their body and soul, can challenge and overcome every difficulty they may encounter in life.
Hunger and thirst cease to be great threats for such people. Hunger pains are no longer a chain that holds them back. Such people can protect their self-respect and dignity at any cost. They will not beg for money or food, even when they are hungry.
Yogis can go on living without food or drink for six months, even though they are not seeking the pleasure of Allah, therefore it is not hard to understand how believers feel secure that with the help and consent of their Lord they can easily endure more physical suffering without degrading themselves before other people if they fall on hard times. But those who have never fasted and thus immunized their body against hunger will most probably abase themselves and begin to beg for food in order to satisfy their hunger when they find themselves having to do without.

Dear Tumblr friends, I think Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere is so beautiful, with its cold, snow, heavy clothes, and tables with delicious food… I love it!!! But I live in the Southern Hemisphere. Our Christmas is very warm, with light clothes, but still with family, with a table of good food… We have the same desires for peace, love between families and people, a desire for unity and true brotherhood. May these desires inspire us, may we be able to improve our relationships, help others, be a light in the lives of those around us, make a difference in our communities, whether in our family, work, school or friends circles. May we be happy!! A Merry Christmas to all! Um Feliz Natal a todos! Feliz Navidad!

Masjid Al-Nabawis Imam Delivers Stirring Friday Sermon on Compassion and Brotherhood
A powerful call for compassion, unity, and spiritual renewal echoed through the Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu Al-Auzam Mosque as Sheikh Dr. Salah Al-Budair, the esteemed Imam and Khateeb of Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi, delivered the Friday sermon on 25th April 2025 during his official visit to the Maldives. Centered on the theme “Be Loving Brothers to One Another,” Sheikh Dr. Al-Budair’s address resonated deeply with the congregation, offering a stirring reminder of the values that bind the Ummah. Speaking with eloquence and heartfelt conviction, he urged believers to lead lives characterized by mercy, humility, and mutual respect, aligning their actions with the principles permitted by Allah. The Imam warned against the dangers of division and hatred, declaring that the worst among people are those who destroy their own nations, disrupt peace and security, and inflict harm upon their own communities. He condemned harsh speech, spreading hatred, issuing uninformed religious rulings, and unjust actions, stressing that such behavior erodes the very fabric of a united and righteous society. Throughout the sermon, Sheikh Dr. Al-Budair highlighted the virtues of assisting others, encouraging the faithful to teach those lacking knowledge, support the needy through charity, respect elders, show kindness to children, guide those who have gone astray with wisdom, and show kindness even to animals. Emphasizing mercy, he reminded worshippers that those who are merciful toward Allah’s creation will themselves be recipients of divine mercy, spared from suffering in the Hereafter. He drew attention to the noble act of fulfilling the needs of others, stating that extending a helping hand, even in small ways, carries more virtue than extended periods of worship at Masjid Al-Nabawi. “Do not turn away those in need,” he urged. “Extend kindness, generosity, and charity without hesitation, and answer the call of those seeking help with a heart full of compassion.” In an emotional moment that captured the spirit of the entire sermon, Sheikh Dr. Al-Budair challenged the congregation with reflective questions: “How long will you ignore the one who reminds you? How long will you shut your ears to sincere advice? Has the time not come for humility? Is it not time to rise for Tahajjud? Are we asleep? Or have our hearts stopped beating? Brother, wake up from your deep slumber!” The congregation listened intently, many visibly moved by the Imam’s powerful call to awaken their hearts and renew their commitment to faith, humility, and service. Sheikh Dr. Al-Budair’s sermon forms part of a wider itinerary during his official visit to the Maldives, arranged with the blessing of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and under the guidance of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. His presence and message have enriched the spiritual landscape of the Maldives, reinforcing the country’s strong religious and cultural ties with Saudi Arabia and inspiring renewed dedication to Islamic values among the Maldivian people. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality… I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word. - Martin Luther King, Jr.
A champion for justice, he led with unwavering determination, inspiring change and fostering unity, leaving an indelible mark on history.
Everyone should have a hero! Someone to look up to or admire. Someone who is a great role model and who provides inspiration to individuals and the masses. For many people across all parts of the world, Martin Luther King Jr is just such a man. The way he walked on Washington, how he used words instead of fists to try to solve the problems of his day and age, and his tenacity to the very end all made him a person to be admired and followed, whether in his time or beyond.
Some people have a tendency to compare what Martin Luther King Jr. did to the works of Gandhi. The similarities come in using the persistent yet peaceful rebellion against the oppression of a group of people. Martin Luther King Jr Day is the day to celebrate all that this fine man has done for the African American people in the United States as well as humans all around the world.
History of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was created by President Ronald Reagan in 1983, at least that is when the day became official. The day of King’s assassination had remained an important part of American culture in the 15 years since its occurrence in 1968, and Reagan finally felt compelled (after years of campaigning by activists) to make it a federal holiday for the United States of America.
Groups of people organized movements in the 1970s and 1980s were still in motion to elevate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to a federal holiday, which would mandate that government offices would close down in recognition of the lengths King went to and the life he gave to promote true equality and freedom. Arguments against this were primarily based on the fact that Dr. King never officially held any public office for the US government, which is usually a requirement for such recognition.
The struggles King fought to eliminate were still present in 1983 when Reagan declared the day an official federal holiday. This was made evident by the simple and sad fact that it took until 2000 for it to be officially recognized and practiced by all 50 states in the union, in spite of being a presidentially recognized holiday for 17 years prior.
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day people gather to celebrate the work he did and the people he elevated through steady, peaceful protests and activism. Children celebrate in schools by learning more about Dr. King and his passions, keeping the flame alive in the fight for equality, justice and freedom for all people.
How to Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
A deep appreciation of the work of Dr. King can come from the observance of this important day. It’s a day to be somber when remembering his death, but also a day to celebrate the victories and progress that his life and work brought about. Gather some friends, family or other community members and try out some of these ideas for honoring the day:
Get Involved in the Local Community
Celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is best done by continuing the work of the man himself, performing acts of service to the local community, various neighbors, and even for the nation.
Throughout this day, attempt to attend events being held at local parks and community centers, and help elevate your awareness regarding equality activism. For instance, attend a parade or other event and stand side by side with those that are still fighting for true equality today.
In 1994, Congress dedicated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a national day of service. The idea is that it should be celebrated as “a day on, not a day off”, making it the perfect day to find unique ways to serve in the local community.
Learn About Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This is the ideal time to get a bit more educated about the work and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. For those who are bookworms, there are hundreds of books about Martin Luther King Jr, revealing the ways he accomplished what he set out to do, how his efforts were sometimes thwarted or interrupted, and how his legacy still lives on for people today.
Others might want to visit a museum to learn more about what King accomplished in his life through educational and interactive exhibits. Many Civil Rights museums offer special discounts or even free admission in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Try out the exhibits at some of these American museums to learn more:
National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel Located in Memphis, Tennessee and an affiliate of the Smithsonian museums, this important space was built around the site of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It became a museum in 1991 and has been growing and changing to include important artifacts and educational opportunities ever since. Those who can’t visit in person can take advantage of the online virtual tours that are available.
Mississippi Civil Rights Museum This fairly new museum opened in the city of Jackson in 2017. Installations require visitors to face the names of all of the lynching victims in Mississippi as well as other important topics such as the Jim Crow laws, slavery and the Civil War, and the Delta Blues.
Dallas Civil Rights Museum Founded in 2014, this Texas museum focuses on topics that are important to freedom-dreamers and change-makers, such as the Underground Railroad and the Trail of Tears. Many exhibits are particularly related to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
International Slavery Museum This important feature of Liverpool, England’s Albert Dock area focuses on the important history of transatlantic slave trade. The museum, which is part of the Merseyside Maritime Museum, houses one building which, in 2012, was renamed to be called the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Building. The facility includes educational spaces, research facilities, a family history center, theater and collections center.
Watch the “I Have a Dream” Speech
Undoubtedly Dr. King’s most famous speech, the “I Have a Dream” speech was given on August 28, 1963 to a crowd of 250,000 gathered around the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. This speech had a direct influence on the US government’s willingness to take action toward racial equality. A copy of the speech can be found at the National Archives at New York City and it can be watched for free on YouTube.
Start Conversations About Martin Luther King, Jr.
Participating in this important day will be even more valuable when it is shared with others in the surrounding community. Whether coming into contact with neighbors and inviting them to attend an event or having an important conversation with coworkers or family members over lunch or dinner, this day should be honored.
Here are a few interesting facts to keep in mind during conversations about the events of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life:
When King attended Crozer Theological Seminary in Upland, Pennsylvania, he was one of only 11 black students. King was elected class president in his third year at the school and graduated as valedictorian.
Martin Luther King, Jr. became the youngest person at the time to have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, at the age of only 35. The prize came with more $50,000 which he donated to the Civil Rights movement.
King is the only person who never served as president to have a federal holiday named in honor of him, and he’s the only non-president with a memorial on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
An amazingly bright student, King was so talented that he skipped both 9th and 12th grades, allowing him to begin attending college at the age of only 15. He enrolled in Morehouse College in 1944 to study sociology and, upon graduating, he became ordained as a Baptist minister just as his father and grandfather had both been.
Create Activities for Kids
An important way to keep history from repeating itself in a negative manner is by raising children to think of the world in a new way. Teaching them about important people who changed the world, such as Dr. King, is a good way to get them involved and inspired to make the world a better place themselves. Making crafts, coloring pages, writing letters or speeches and other activities are important ways to get kids actively involved in the day.

How the India School Pledge Aligns with India’s National Values
The India School Pledge, recited every morning by millions of students, is more than just words. It is a commitment to India’s core values. This daily promise reminds students of values like respect, unity, and responsibility—important principles that guide Indian society. At School Dekho, we believe it’s essential for young minds to understand the meaning behind these words. This article explores how the Indian School Pledge reflects India’s national values, shaping students into responsible citizens.
Indian Pledge in English Indian Pledge in Hindi
1. Promoting Respect for Our Country and Fellow Citizens
The India School Pledge starts with the phrase, “India is my country, and all Indians are my brothers and sisters.” This powerful statement promotes respect for the nation and its people. Respect is one of the most important values in Indian society. We learn to honor our elders, listen to our teachers, and care for others in our community.
When students recite this pledge, they’re reminded that every Indian is part of one large family. This helps children understand that respect is not just about people close to us, but extends to everyone. The Ministry of Education in India highlights that teaching respect early in life leads to positive relationships in adulthood, promoting a stronger society.
2. Fostering Unity and Brotherhood
Unity is a core Indian value, reflected in our motto, “Unity in Diversity.” India has many languages, religions, and cultures, yet we stand together as one nation. The pledge encourages students to think of all Indians as their family. This idea of unity is especially important in a diverse country like India, where people celebrate different festivals and traditions.
By saying the pledge, students learn that even though people are different, we can work together. This value of unity encourages students to build friendships across cultural lines, making school a more inclusive place. According to UNESCO, promoting unity in young minds helps create a more peaceful society in the future.
3. Encouraging Responsibility Towards Society
The pledge includes the line, “I love my country, and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage.” This phrase teaches students to feel proud of India’s history and culture, while also reminding them of their responsibility to protect it. Responsibility is a value that helps individuals care for their community and work toward its betterment.
At School Dekho, we emphasize that taking responsibility starts with small actions. For example, students can show responsibility by keeping their school clean, helping their friends, and participating in community activities. Studies by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) show that when children learn responsibility early, they grow into adults who contribute positively to society.
4. Embracing Hard Work and Dedication
The pledge encourages students to “give respect to my parents, teachers, and all elders, and treat everyone with courtesy.” Respect for authority figures like parents and teachers is an essential value in India, where people often look up to elders for guidance. This line of the pledge reminds students to appreciate the hard work and dedication of others.
By valuing hard work, students learn to work hard in their own lives. Whether it’s studying, helping with chores, or practicing a skill, dedication is a quality that helps us succeed. According to a report by the National Education Association, students who are encouraged to work hard often perform better academically and develop a strong sense of purpose.
5. Instilling a Sense of Patriotism
Patriotism is a love for one’s country and a desire to make it better. The India School Pledge nurtures patriotism by helping students appreciate India’s heritage, culture, and achievements. When students say, “I love my country,” they express pride in India’s diversity, achievements, and beauty.
Patriotism also motivates students to do their best for the country. At School Dekho, we encourage students to understand that patriotism is not just about words, but also actions. By studying hard, following rules, and being good citizens, students contribute to a stronger India.
6. Teaching Honesty and Integrity
The India School Pledge teaches students the importance of honesty and integrity. When students promise to “do my duty to my country and my people,” they learn that honesty is essential in fulfilling their responsibilities. Integrity means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, which is a key value in Indian culture.
By practicing honesty, students learn to build trust and respect with others. Schools often promote honesty by encouraging students to complete their own work, respect classroom rules, and be fair to everyone. Studies by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) indicate that honesty leads to better decision-making and stronger friendships.
7. Developing Compassion and Empathy
The phrase “all Indians are my brothers and sisters” also promotes compassion and empathy. Compassion is the ability to care about others and their feelings. When students think of everyone as family, they’re more likely to help and support each other.
Empathy is especially important in building a harmonious society. By understanding others’ feelings, students become better friends, classmates, and citizens. According to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, children who develop empathy are better at resolving conflicts and building meaningful relationships.
8. Encouraging Environmental Responsibility
While the India School Pledge may not directly mention the environment, the values it teaches can also apply to nature. Loving and respecting India includes caring for the country’s beautiful landscapes, rivers, and forests. When students learn to take responsibility for their surroundings, they develop a sense of environmental responsibility.
Students can practice environmental responsibility by conserving water, reducing waste, and protecting green spaces. At School Dekho, we encourage schools to include eco-friendly practices in morning assemblies, helping students understand that protecting the environment is part of their duty to India.
9. Promoting Peace and Non-Violence
India has a rich history of peace and non-violence, inspired by leaders like Mahatma Gandhi. The India School Pledge, which promotes unity and respect, aligns with these values. By encouraging students to respect others and embrace diversity, the pledge fosters a peaceful outlook.
Peaceful interactions in school set the foundation for a peaceful society. When students learn to resolve conflicts calmly and support one another, they contribute to a safe environment. Studies by UNICEF show that promoting peace and non-violence in schools leads to positive student behavior and a better learning atmosphere.
10. Building a Stronger Society for the Future
The India School Pledge is more than a routine. It is a guide for students to become better individuals and responsible citizens. Each line of the pledge promotes values that shape a stronger society—one that is united, respectful, and responsible.
At School Dekho, we believe that students who embrace these values can make a significant impact on the world. As they grow, they take these principles into their communities, helping create a brighter future for India. By understanding the importance of the pledge, students gain a sense of purpose, pride, and determination to make their country a better place.
Conclusion: The India School Pledge as a Path to National Values
The India School Pledge is more than words repeated in assembly. It serves as a powerful reminder of the values that unite us as Indians. From respect and unity to responsibility and patriotism, these values guide students in becoming thoughtful, responsible citizens.
At School Dekho, we encourage students, teachers, and parents to understand and cherish the India School Pledge. By practicing these values daily, students can grow into compassionate, responsible individuals who contribute positively to society. The pledge helps instill the values that make India strong and united, ensuring a brighter, better future for all.

Sermon: "Men's for Men's"
Opening Scripture: Proverbs 27:17 – "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
Opening Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we gather today as men seeking to grow in faith, strength, and brotherhood. Guide us in our journey to support one another, to lead with integrity, and to build a community where love, respect, and truth prevail. May Your wisdom fill our hearts as we learn what it means to be men for each other, standing together in Your grace. Amen.
---
Introduction:
Brothers, today we explore what it truly means to be "Men's for Men's." In a world where we often feel pressured to go it alone, God calls us to support, uplift, and sharpen one another. As men, we are stronger together, and our unity can make a profound impact on our families, communities, and the world. Let's dive into ten key principles that can help us live out this calling.
1. Support Each Other:
Scripture teaches us that we are not meant to carry our burdens alone. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up." Brothers, we are called to lift each other up. Whether it's through encouragement, advice, or simply being present, your support can make all the difference in a fellow man's life. Let's be intentional in seeking out ways to be there for one another.
2. Embrace Vulnerability:
In a society that often equates masculinity with stoicism, it's crucial to remember that real strength is found in vulnerability. Jesus Himself wept and showed deep emotions (John 11:35). When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we create space for deeper connections and healing. Don't be afraid to express your feelings and share your struggles. As men, let's encourage each other to be open and honest, knowing that it's okay not to have it all together.
3. Cultivate Respect:
Respect is the cornerstone of all relationships. Philippians 2:3-4 urges us, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others." Respect every man, regardless of his background, beliefs, or choices. When we cultivate respect, we lay the foundation for strong, lasting relationships.
4. Lead by Example:
The world needs men who lead with integrity, honesty, and honor. 1 Timothy 4:12 encourages us, "Set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity." Whether in your home, workplace, or community, strive to be the kind of man others can look up to. Your actions, more than your words, will inspire those around you.
5. Prioritize Mental Health:
Taking care of our mental health is not a sign of weakness, but of wisdom. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us to bring our anxieties to God in prayer, trusting Him for peace. Additionally, seeking help from others—whether through counseling, friendship, or support groups—is a sign of strength. Encourage each other to prioritize mental well-being, knowing that we can't pour from an empty cup.
6. Promote Healthy Competition:
Competition can build character and camaraderie when done with the right spirit. 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 speaks of running the race to win the prize. But remember, it's not just about winning; it's about how we run the race together. Engage in competition that strengthens relationships, builds each other up, and celebrates successes without envy or resentment.
7. Communicate Openly:
Pride can be a barrier to open communication, but James 5:16 tells us to "confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed." Foster an environment where honest communication is welcomed. Don't let fear or pride stop you from talking about important issues or asking for help. Open communication strengthens our bonds and fosters growth.
8. Build Brotherhood:
Psalm 133:1 proclaims, "How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" Brotherhood is a powerful force that can change lives. Stand together, support each other’s growth, and create a community where every man feels valued. Our unity as brothers in Christ is a testimony to the world of God's love and grace.
9. Respect Boundaries:
Understanding and respecting the personal boundaries of others is crucial for healthy relationships. Romans 12:18 says, "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." Consent and mutual understanding are the keys to all interactions. Respecting boundaries shows love, consideration, and maturity.
10. Be a Role Model:
Finally, remember that younger men and boys look up to you. 1 Corinthians 11:1 encourages us to "follow [Paul's] example, as [he] follow[s] the example of Christ." Set a positive example through your actions, words, and decisions. Show them what it means to be a true man—one who walks in faith, integrity, and love.
---
**Closing**:
Brothers, let us commit to being "Men's for Men's"—to supporting one another, embracing vulnerability, cultivating respect, and leading with integrity. As we walk together in faith, let us build a strong brotherhood that reflects God's love and brings glory to His name.
**Closing Prayer**:
Lord, we thank You for the gift of brotherhood. Help us to live out these principles in our daily lives, to support one another, and to grow stronger together. May our actions reflect Your love, and may our lives be a testimony to Your grace. Guide us as we strive to be men who honor You in all that we do. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

HOW DID ISLAM BEGIN?
At Allah's Blessings, we invite you to embark on a journey of spiritual enlightenment and inner peace. Our blog is dedicated to exploring the profound teachings of Islam, offering insights, reflections, and guidance to nourish your soul.
Islam is a monotheistic faith centered around belief in the one God (Allah). In this regard, it shares some beliefs with Judaism and Christianity by tracing its history back to the patriarch Abraham, and ultimately to the first prophet, Adam. All the prophets preached the same universal message of belief in one God and kindness to humanity. The last in the series of prophets, according to Muslims, was Muhammad.
Muhammad was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia around 570 CE. He worked first as a shepherd and then as a merchant. He was not happy with the people around him because of superstitions and social and economic injustice. The people were worshipping many gods and had forgotten the message of prophet Abraham to worship one God. Muhammad loved to pray and meditate in the mountains.
On one of those occasions, in the year 610 CE, when he was about 40 years old, he received a revelation from God through the angel Jibril (Gabriel). He continued to receive messages from God throughout his life and he began preaching to others what he had learned. His main message is that there was no other God but Allah and that people should lead their lives in a way that was pleasing to Allah.
In a world teeming with uncertainties, faith stands as a steadfast anchor for millions of Muslims worldwide. At the heart of this faith are the profound teachings found in the Quran and the Hadith, guiding believers on a path of spiritual enlightenment and moral righteousness.
Faith, the cornerstone of Islam, serves as a guiding light for Muslims in every aspect of their lives. It is the unwavering belief in the Oneness of Allah and the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him) that shapes their worldview and dictates their actions.
Central to the Islamic faith is the practice of Salah, the ritual prayer performed five times daily. This act of worship not only strengthens one's bond with the Creator but also instills discipline and mindfulness in daily routines. Similarly, the observance of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan fosters self-restraint, empathy, and gratitude among believers.
The Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) serves as a beacon of guidance for Muslims seeking to lead a life in accordance with Islamic principles. His exemplary character, compassion, and humility set the standard for an Islamic lifestyle, inspiring believers to emulate his teachings in their daily conduct.
Islamic spirituality is deeply rooted in the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment.
The Quran, revered as the word of Allah, serves as a source of divine guidance and wisdom for Muslims seeking spiritual nourishment. Likewise, the Hadith, comprising the sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), offers practical insights into living a life of piety and righteousness.
As members of the Muslim community, believers are bound by a shared sense of brotherhood and solidarity. Upholding Islamic values such as compassion, justice, and generosity, Muslims strive to support and uplift one another, fostering a sense of unity and compassion within their communities.
The concept of Tawheed, the belief in the Oneness of God, lies at the heart of Islamic theology. It underscores the absolute sovereignty of Allah and serves as a reminder of humanity's ultimate purpose: to worship and serve the Creator.
In striving to embody Islamic values such as honesty, integrity, and humility, Muslims seek to cultivate Taqwa (God-consciousness) in their hearts and minds. This spiritual awareness serves as a guiding principle, steering believers away from that which is Haram (forbidden) and towards that which is pleasing to Allah.
Ultimately, the goal of every Muslim is to attain Jannah (Paradise), the eternal abode of bliss promised to the righteous. By living a life grounded in Islamic teachings and guided by Islamic values, believers hope to earn the pleasure of Allah and secure their place in the Hereafter.
Islam offers a comprehensive framework for spiritual growth, moral conduct, and communal harmony. Through the practice of Salah, fasting, Zakat, and Hajj, believers strive to deepen their connection with Allah and lead lives of righteousness and piety. By embracing Islamic spirituality and upholding Islamic values, Muslims seek to navigate the challenges of this world while striving for the eternal rewards of the Hereafter.

Nigeria going through challenging times, pray for our country – Peter Obi to Muslims
Tumblr media
Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party has urged the Muslim faithful to utilize the period of Ramadan to pray for the nation and ask God to lead the country out of the challenging times. Obi, in a post on his X handle on Monday, said Ramadan is more than personal reflection, adding it is a time for unity and collective purpose. The former Anambra State Governor urged Muslims to use the period for introspection, strengthen their connection with Allah (SWT), and emerge from Ramadan reenergized in their faith. According to him, people should harness the spirit of Ramadan to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood nationwide. “I believe that we will use this moment to pray for the nation in these most trying times, to guide and protect our country to lead us out of these challenging times. “Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, as the crescent moon heralds the onset of the holy month of Ramadan, I extend my warmest wishes for a blessed Ramadan. “As you embark on this sacred journey of fasting, prayer, and self-reflection, let us embrace the spirit of Ramadan with open hearts and unwavering faith. May the sacrifices of this period cleanse our hearts and renew our love for one another. “May this month be filled with abundant peace, finding inner tranquillity through devotion to Allah (SWT), and resonating with peace throughout our nation. May the blessings of Ramadan bring you closer to Allah (SWT) and fill your hearts with the joy of faith and community. “Utilize this time for introspection, strengthen your connection with Allah (SWT), and emerge from Ramadan reenergized in your faith. Ramadan is more than personal reflection; it is a time for unity and collective purpose. “Let us harness the spirit of Ramadan to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood nationwide. Share Iftar meals, offer support to those in need, and celebrate the togetherness of defining the Islamic community. “Promote peace and understanding within Nigeria. May the lessons of Ramadan – compassion, empathy, and self-restraint – guide our interactions and foster a more peaceful society. “Contribute to the progress and productivity of our beloved nation. May the discipline and focus honed during Ramadan regenerate dedication to building a better Nigeria for all,” Obi said. Read the full article

Denny Ja: Exploring the wealth of religious traditions: Inspiration to enrich the soul
Welcome to our article that will discuss about Denny Ja and how he explores the richness of religious traditions to enrich the soul. Denny JA is a leading intellectual in Indonesia who has long devoted himself in the field of religious and cultural research. In this article, we will explore Denny JA’s view of the importance of understanding and respecting religious traditions, as well as how the inspiration of these traditions can help enrich our souls. Let’s start!    The uniqueness of religious traditions    In Denny JA’s view, religious traditions have uniqueness and wealth that we cannot ignore. Every religion has the history, values, and practices inherited from generation to generation. This tradition reflects the way of life and trust that is rooted in society. Denny Ja believes that studying and understanding religious traditions is the key to exploring the spiritual wealth that is in us.    Exploring the wealth of religious traditions    In his efforts to explore the wealth of religious traditions, Denny Ja has conducted in -depth research on various religions in Indonesia. He believes that the diversity of religions in Indonesia is one of the very valuable assets. In his research, Denny Ja not only focused on the theological aspects of religion, but also explores spiritual practices inherent in society.    One example of Denny Ja’s research is its interest in the tradition of Kejawen, which is a mixture of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam that developed in Java. Denny Ja explores various spiritual practices in Kejawen, such as meditation, prayer, and certain rituals. He believes that the excavation of the wealth of the Kejawen tradition can help us in enriching the soul and getting inner peace.    Inspiration from religious traditions    Denny Ja believes that inspiration from religious traditions can be a source of wisdom and enlightenment in everyday life. When we study and live religious traditions, we will find universal values that embrace love, affection, justice, and goodness.    For example, in Buddhism, the concept of affection and compassion is very important. By exploring the wealth of Buddhist traditions, we can learn to be more patient, better understand, and more empathize with others. This can help improve the quality of our relationships with fellow human beings and create peace in ourselves.    Likewise, in Islam, the values of independence, justice, and ukhuwah (brotherhood) are an inspiration for many people. By understanding the tradition of Islam, we can learn to live responsibly, contribute to the community, and maintain unity in everyday life.    Enrich our souls    By exploring the wealth of religious traditions, we can enrich our souls with a deeper understanding of ourselves, relationships with fellow human beings, and relationships with the Creator. Denny Ja believes that the spiritual wealth that we get through religious traditions can help us achieve true inner peace and happiness.    However, Denny Ja also emphasizes the importance of respecting and respecting differences in religious traditions. Although religious traditions have their own wealth, we must not forget the values of tolerance and brotherhood between religious believers.
