From Now On
Ok y’all, this is super long hahahahha I’m so sorry. Happy Gruvia Week 2021!! Here’s my contribution and I’m sorry but I don’t think I have the time to do more but I hope you guys like it anyway. I hope its not too OOC and if FT had more romance elements I believe this would be possible. Enjoy!
--------------------------- Gray tousled his hair and fidgeted around the entrance, feeling nervous about the day when it was only about 10 o’clock in the morning. Today, he told himself that he had to make sure things went well and most of all, to not take off any of his clothes subconsciously. For an ice mage, ironically he could not seem to get himself to calm down and stay cool about this. Regarding his first official date with Juvia, that is.
The 100 Years Quest was over and as promised, he spoke to Juvia about their relationship and how he was finally good enough for her. Despite the water mage’s disagreement to his initial beliefs and reasoning, she was elated that Gray formally addressed their feelings for each other. Furthermore, he initiated that they ought to have a proper first date that weekend itself.
He clicked his tongue briefly and frowned upon himself as he began to manifest in some thoughts to keep himself together. Why are you getting all nervous for! He ponders, his hands getting a little clammy in his pockets. Aren’t you the Gray Fullbuster, who bravely puts himself out for others and save the world countless times?
”Gray-sama?”
Before he could go on any further, a cute slivery voice interrupted his train of thought. Miserably trying to keep his cool, he spun around eagerly and was met with sapphire eyes that gave off a different vibe from her usual self. The said bluenette had her locks half tied and wore an off-shoulder dress that was not too revealing, similar to her nature. Accompanied with her outfit was a pair of kitten heels, some accessories and a subtle blush adorning her cheeks.
”Juvia is sorry for making you wait.”
For the majority, her outfit is considered simple and chic but for today, Gray thought she looked really, really good. Dammit, he gulped loudly as he felt his cheeks started to blush already at the sight of her. He knew that the water user was attractive, but it was beginning to sink in that he is now calling this beautiful person his. “Ah—um—” Gray fumbled and looked away, trying his best to hide the redness. “Shall we get going?” She simply smiled, gave a small chuckle and placed her left hand gently on his right arm (as if he could take more), indicating him to proceed to their destination. On their first date, Fullbuster had planned to go and visit the aquarium—because the water reminds him of Juvia, but he is never going to admit it—which was not too far off from where they were. It was a good walking distance, and they had a nice peaceful time on the way there. Despite saying that, he was worried as it did not seem natural for the bluenette to stay silent. Especially today, he expected her to be more excited and be all over him. As they arrive at the aquarium, Gray went over to the counter and bought a pair of tickets and made his way back to the front, where Juvia was waiting for him. As he carefully observed the water mage from a distance, he could see that she was looking down with an expression he could not seem to grasp. ”Juvia.” Surprised, she looked up hastily to see Gray back by her side. ”Is everything alright?” ”Juvia’s fine!” She exclaimed, quick to lighten up the mood. “She’s just... a little excited—as in, we’ve never done this before—but Juvia’s really happy!” She glanced at him timidly. “Also, Gray-sama looks dashing today.” For once with the determination of not stripping everything off, the ice mage did make the effort to dress well in a brown coat paired with a t-shirt and jeans. Albeit reddening slightly at her remark, he was more concerned on the fact she seemed to not be telling the truth. Here he was, blessed to have her despite all those years of constantly avoiding her advances—and now, when she is distressed, she was still keeping herself together to not worry him. His gaze soften as the guilt was slowly crept up inside him. Despite that, the said man tried to push the matter aside for the time being and wanted to make sure the day goes well. As of now, he knew that he needed to push himself more and step up his game. Once again, her eyes met with his onyx ones as he spoke quickly. “You.. you look good, too.” Juvia’s pupils dilated while Gray blushed furiously, frowning at how embarrassed he was over such a simple statement. It was a start, at least. He also noted on how she seemed to be elated from it. Before she could ask anything else, he took her hand in his and brought them into the aquarium. He could tell people were staring as the both of them were rather known after all they have done in Fiore, but screw it. Gray decided that it was not going to get in the way of his pride today if it could. Thankfully, the ice mage started to loosen up as Juvia gleefully looked at all the sea creatures that were present. When her beloved mentioned about this place, she gladly agreed because this place was known for breeding imported fishes outside of Fiore. The water woman, being part of the sea and occasionally swimming in it, found joy learning the names and characteristics of the animals she meets in the ocean.  “So these are angelfishes!” she exclaimed to Gray, as she lightly tapped on his shoulder while pointing at the said creature. “Juvia always sees them if she takes a dive into the ocean.” “Hmm,” Gray mused, acting disinterested. “What else do you normally see?” "Juvia’s seen all of these underwater because in this tank, all of them are common sea fishes.” “Isn’t that a bore?” The ice mage rolled his eyes. “We should go see something you don’t normally see—that’s what this place is for.” He smoothly took her hand in his and brought her along. Meanwhile, Juvia lightly blushes as she realised that this incident—Gray initiating the hand holding—has been happening a few times already. Every time she releases his grasp to point or walk towards a destination, the brunet would eventually put them back together again. She glanced at Gray who seemed to pay no mind to the matter as they visited the different tanks and places of the aquarium. Indeed, the bluenette was not complaining but a little taken aback. Is this suppose to be normal? She thought, as her imagination continued to spiral on. The smooth and sly Gray-sama was taking a little too much for her to handle—even from before! Eventually, her legs gave way and she started to lose her balance. Quickly, she placed her hand on the wall for balance which caused her footsteps to come to a halt and the ice mage to notice her situation. “Juvia!” He held her arms by the sides and shook her slightly in worry. “I’m right earlier, aren’t I? You really weren’t feeling good?” “Gray-sama...” He raised a brow in question. “Yes?” Juvia took a quick glance back at him before she burst into tears. “Gray-sama is too gentlemanly and sly today!” She wailed, half in distress and in joy. “First, he chooses to dress up and pick Juvia up at her place. Secondly, he complimented her outfit she took hours to decide and still felt it wasn’t good enough!” “Lastly, Juvia didn’t want to bother him and occasionally walks on her own, but Gray-sama keeps coming back, holding her hands gently and she’s too happy that she can’t walk straight anymore!” Full of emotions, she tried to control her tears as she quickly wiped some of it away. “Juvia’s not used to it Gray-sama. You’re being too nice and cool!” At this he flushed hard, did he really hold her hand so often? “Oi!” He panicked, his cheeks continue to redden in embarrassment at her bold statements of him. “D-don’t make sure a big deal out of it. I mean—like—just calm down!” With her loud voice, the people nearby saw and heard the context of the incident and lightly chuckled in amusement which caused Gray to be conscious with their surroundings and it made him uncomfortable. He quickly took her to an area with minimal crowd and dimmed lights to spare them from all the attention. He sat Juvia down on the nearby bench in hopes to calm her down as she sniffed softly. The ice mage took a moment to stare at the bluenette who was being all worked up earlier on. Gray’s eyebrows furrowed as he run his hand through his hair in exasperation before he sat down next to her. “Here,” A cold can drink grazed upon Juvia’s cheek gently. “Drink this.” She took it with gratitude and managed a few sips, a troubled look appearing on her features as she noticed her beloved looking away—clearly upset. The water mage frowned and looked down, tightening her hold on the can drink as she quickly apologises. “Juvia is sorry, Gray-sama. She should’ve known better than to embarrass Gray-sama in public,” Surprised at herself, she started to fumble. “Gray-sama doesn’t like attention and Juvia failed to see it. Juvia shouldn’t have been so swamped at her own giddiness, Juvia was too–” “Stop it,” Gray clicked his tongue in annoyance, his bangs covering his eyes. “You make me sound like a terrible boyfriend.” “Juvia didn’t mean—eh?” It took a moment before she realised what Gray has declared and took a small peak at him. “Did Gray-sama just say ‘boyfriend’?” “Aren’t I?” “Juvia didn’t expect you to say that out...” He scratched his neck nervously, his eyes looking away. “I mean.. I promised you didn’t I? I’m going to become a man good enough for you. If I can’t even say that out, I’m worse than flamebrain.” As much as she was feeling touched, she couldn’t help but worry. “Juvia doesn’t want to force you to change, Gray-sama.” “I’m not forcing myself.” “But Gray-sama kept forcing himself to make sure that we held hands—” “Because I wanted to!” Pupils dilated once again as she was struck with confusion. Fullbuster, flushed and embarrassed at what he just blurted out, grew annoyed at her denseness and tousled his hair once more before speaking up. “Dammit woman, why are you making me say all these sappy shit...” “Look,” He sighed before looking back at her once again, determined. “Every time we hold hands, I always try to play it cool but damn—it’s stupid to say this as a grown man but I get so nervous and happy about it. I kept wanting you close to me....” Gray felt annoyed at his frenzied heart as he continued to speak his feelings aloud. “I really want to be better for you, Juvia. I don’t want you to always make it easy for me. I want to return the favour back as much as I can.”  Before he went on, the ice mage narrowed his eyes in dismay and looked away as he gripped his knuckles tightly. “But this whole time, I kept making you cry and get upset. Even now, I don’t even know how to make you feel better when you’re always here for me previously. Instead, I chose to take us somewhere else and frown about it because I was a coward.... I’m sorry.” The ice mage mumbled at the end of his sentence, but Juvia could make out his words anytime. It was funny, really. All her life, the water mage was contented on loving him without expecting anything much back. Now, when it was becoming a reality, Juvia’s heart swelled. For once, her mind went blank on how to express these thoughts aloud. Loving Gray has been wonderful, but being loved back by him now was even better than she could ever imagined. She placed a hand on his cheek in efforts to cheer him up and as he turned back—in his opinion, Gray was greeted with the most alluring smile he has ever seen. “Thank you for trying so hard, Gray-sama.” She spoke in the most loving voice she could muster. “Juvia loves you very much.” In that moment, his gaze softened as he swiftly took away her hand that was on his face into his own, lacing them together. Tightening his hold on her said hand, Gray took her cheek in with his other free palm. The ice mage took a good look at her before he slowly leaned in. He heard Juvia uttered something out of confusion, but he paid no mind to it. Because in that moment, all he could think of was how much he adored her kindness, love and patience.  In the dim lighting and quiet section of the aquarium, his lips met hers in a chaste kiss as response to her statement earlier on. Frankly, the ice mage did not know what to say either as he nervously pulled away to check on her reaction. When his eyes slowly opened and met with hers, Gray could not help but smile back at his girl whose cheeks were now flushed in surprise. He let out a slight chuckle and squeezed her hand lovingly as he could tell that the water mage was clearly still processing the kiss. It was embarrassing, he admitted, but he did not regret doing so. He had nothing to hide anyways. “Shall we continue on with our date?”
After all, Juvia was his to keep from now on.

Please, don’t fall for me (Sanders Sides fantasy school AU) Chap 3
Relationships : Future (Prinxiety, Intrological, Mocite, Platonique Moxiety and platonique Analogical)
POV : Virgil
TW : Water, Manipulation
Previous<<
------------------------------------
Virgil couldn't focus on anything after that.
He kept looking at the pamphlet and the folded paper on his laps.
The pamphlet showed a picture of a big white building. It looked like a bad copy of Harvard.
It was named "Pine hills High school and College of art, sport and science" which was long for nothing and boring like literally any school.
But most importantly, it looked pricy. So Virgil looked around the pamphlet but he couldn't find any price anywhere.
Tss, of course, they wouldn't.
It said on the pamphlet that the school had good infrastructure and good results in every sportive, artistic and scientific field. That it had 100% chance for the student to have a diploma and list several students that became important.
Virgil didn't know any of those names and most importantly, never heard of that school.
On the other hand, the folded paper was a lot less fancy. There was no picture only a name and a few commentaries.
It didn't look official in any way. In fact, it was very obvious that Remy had written everything.
But it gave a strange feeling, like the ink and paper weren't normal. Like it could disappear at any moment if Virgil stopped looking at it or if anyone else looked at it.
He knew it didn't make much sense, but he could swear that he saw the words glitter from time to time.
"The Argus school" was the name written on the paper.
"School for young magical creatures to learn how to control their powers in safety."
So, like a school of magic? When did Virgil step into Harry Potter?
It was so cliché and suspicious, Remy was surely messing with him.
What if it was all an elaborate prank?
What if it was a kidnapping technic and Virgil was falling straight for it?
Should he call the police?
Would they believe him?
But what if it was not a joke?
It was so unrealistic but it explained so many things...
That day when school ended Virgil didn't directly go home.
He went to the pool.
"Hello, do you have a ticket ?"
The young women at the entrance asked.
Oh. Well, he needed to confirm that too eventually.
The high school boy took a deep breath.
"No, I forgot...sorry"
Her voice was suddenly a lot softer.
"It's ok, I can give you one. It's 7$"
Alright, he won't have to meet her again, he could do it.
He took off his mask and hood
"I'm sorry miss. I forgot to bring money"
She blinked like she was trying to adjusted her eyes after being flashed with a stong light.
"Alright, I will take your name and you can pay later"
"Wait really?" Virgil exclaimed, not expecting the woman to actually let him get away with it so easily.
The woman smiled. "Yes, but don't tell anyone, I'm not supposed to do that. So what's your name ?"
"Virgil Apkallu"
"That's an interesting name could you spell it ?"
Virgil spelled his name like he always did. Before remembering an important fact.
"I don't have my swimsuit!"
She laughed. Virgil couldn't blame her, he really didn't think that through.
"Do you want to go home to pick it up?"
If he got home it would be too late, his father wouldn't let him go back out again.
He looked up at the women. Making eye contact with someone for the first time in what felt like an eternity.
"If I go home I don't know if I would be able to come back..."
She froze and thought for a bit before walking away and coming back with her wallet.
"Here, go to the dispenser and get yourself a swimsuit"
"Wha- but it's your money, I can't"
"It's fine kid, it's just 2$. Now go before we close"
Virgil sighed and bought simple black shorts. He thanked the woman and she let him get in.
He felt guilty. He knew he didn't ask her to do all that and she was the one who insisted. But he couldn't help but feel like he manipulated that woman.
But it's what he was trying to do, didn’t he ?
The pool was empty. It was late and during fall it was too cold to go swimming.
The pool attendants weren't here, probably thinking that no one would come at that hour.
So Virgil had the water for himself.
Time to get it over with.
The good thing with being an anxious mess like Virgil is that you end up collecting techniques to get rid of disillusions.
Often the biggest disillusions were the hardest to get rid of. It's the ones that make the less sense.
Like thinking everyone you meet want to kill you, or that your parents were secretly robots.
But the good thing is. The bigger they are the easier it is to prove your brain wrong.
If you don't turn into a wolf under the full moon, you're not a werewolf.
If you don't have magic powers you're not a witch.
And if you can't breathe underwater you're not a siren.
A normal human can't survive underwater for more than 5 minutes, a trained diver can stay at best 12 minutes.
Virgil only had to stay underwater until he felt the huge to breathe.
If he could stay underwater for longer than that without needing to go out to breathe then... haha no, it was stupid last time he was just confused because he fell into the pool in the middle of a panic attack.
He will be out in a few seconds.
He slowly went down the stairs. The water was colder than he remembered.
It was probably reckless to test that alone but at least no-one was here to stop him.
Once he was in, the cold was a lot more bearable. In fact, it was numbing pleasantly.
The only swimmer went around the pool using the border to hold himself. But he didn't really need it, it was mostly the lack of confidence.
Eventually, he let go of the side of the pool and swam to the center of the water.
He felt free. Like floating in space. Swiming was so easy, it was second nature.
Virgil set the timer at 0.
And go !
He let himself sink.
The echoes of the empty room, the lapping of the water, the far-away cars.
It all dissolved into silence.
The golden hue of the sunset reflected all around, slithering in the water like hundreds of glowing vines.
Virgil was still holding his nose under the water but he didn't feel the need to breathe. Actually, he was already breathing.
He brushed the side of his neck. His skin was taking off but it didn't hurt.
He breathed in.
Water entered the gap in his neck.
He breathed out.
Water went out of the gap.
Gills.
He never had gills. Since when did he had gills?
He let go of all the air he was holding in a string of bubbles.
He watched them float away. Reflecting the sunlight, making them shine the away fairy lights would.
Bright and clear.
When he tried to breathe through the nose, the airway seemed blocked and he ended up breathing by his Gilles again.
He was breathing underwater. He could see underwater.
He could see and breathe better than on land.
His hair fell on his face.
He could see his own eyes reflecting in them like a mirror and his eyes reflected his hair the same way.
This was new. Usually, they were both jet black.
He swam to one of the Hublot around the pool.
His hair reflected the pool around, perfectly merging with the water like they were trying their hardest to disappear. His eyes were hardly any better. They were glossy and blue with gold lights just like the water around.
Usually, his eyes were so dark he could barely see his pupils well now that his eyes were different... He still couldn't. Apparently, his pupils also got this mirror effect.
This one was probably not a new thing. The boy could remember every time someone had the great idea of pointing a flashlight at him only to scream because his pupils were shining like a wild animal.
The confused boy swam around.
It was so simple, like taking a walk around the park.
So peaceful,
So comfortable,
So pretty,
So safe,
It felt like home.
Virgil didn't know how much time he spent here. He didn't want to look at the timer.
He didn't want to walk. He didn't want to choke on air. He didn't want to feel the pressure of the world.
This was where he belonged. He was happy.
He didn't want to go.
He looked up. The golden light turned silver.
It was night. He needed to go home.
With a sigh, the half siren swam out. Posing the timer but not looking at it.
Everything was so heavy out there. Virgil dresses up slowly and difficultly. His clothes stuck to him and made moving even harder.
Taking a deap breath of his inhaler and dragging himself away from the pool.
The woman looked surprised that he was still here but she still waved him goodby with a smile.
The cold autumn wind gave him a headache, the boy hid his wet hair in is hood and walked.
By the time he arrived home, his body was freezing.
His mind bearly felt anything.
"Do you have any idea how late it is?
I was so worried! Where were you ?!"
His father immediately yelled when he opened the door.
Virgil stayed silent. He didn't feel guilty, just, empty.
He walked around mindlessly, working only on muscle memory. His father still yelling behind him but he couldn't hear anything.
When he took off his hood his father went silent and stared at him wearily.
"Virgil, why are you soaked ?"
His son took a deep breath and locked eyes with his parent with a serious expression.
"Dad. Who is my mother ?"

Worth millions.
Remember that? Back by popular demand. Reworked, improved, but only miserly so. And with chapter two coming soon~
Tumblr media
✏ Fandom: Bungou Stray Dogs ✏ Characters: Nakahara Chūya, Dazai Osamu ✏ Word count: 3,650 ✏ Warnings: swearing, smoking. ✏ Part I; Part II
Worth millions.
Chūya narrowed his eyes at the figure near on the pier. It was close to midnight and no sane or law-abiding citizen would wonder around those docks alone. He did not expect a fight tonight but would be willing if it come to that. It was, after all, his mess to deal with. And whoever was standing in the way would be crashed by gravity. Chūya took a minute to observe what the person on the pier was doing. If it was some vagabond scaring them away wouldn’t be an issue. At first glance it seemed the figure wondered around the pier aimlessly — looking around to satisfy their curiosity or satiate the desire to observe small beauty of the world, —but only at first. Nakahara didn’t have to waste another minute to understand the person on the pier was looking for clues, evidence. And that was Chūya’s job. Then, it wasn’t a simple-minded wanderer or a drunk wondering in the moonless night. This person had a purpose to be here.
“You better know how to swim,” Nakahara said with a dangerous cadence. With his silhouette shrouded in darkness, he knew and meant the danger emitted. There was no escape from the pier unless they wanted to swim. Or face him. He had no issues with either option.
“Shiiiiit,” the voice uncertain echoed. “I’m taking too long.”
Chūya smirked and moved closer, slowly, biding his time. There was no need to be hasty with this interesting encounter. It was rare for something interesting happening on the job in the dead of the night. Someone else was here with the same purpose. It couldn’t be boring. But he wasn’t planning to let them go. If they were a part of those thugs that dared to challenge Port Mafia, there was only one way out for them.
“Port Mafia, right?” the voice asked, refusing to move, standing their ground. Intimidation was only present in their voice, and Chūya wondered if he was carefully toyed with. Pretending to be frightened before making a move.
The stranger raised their hands in surrender. “I am not looking for a fight,” they continued talking to him confident that they were listened to. The pier wasn’t enough for the two of them. Nakahara came closer, close enough to recognize their features in the moonless dark.
“That’s unfortunate,” Chūya said, smirking. “I might be.”
The person didn’t say anything, didn’t back away from him or step close as if kept there by stubbornness, ignorance, or blind bravery. Instead, they reached inside their pocket. And if this stranger thought a gun could scare Port Mafia, they were both wrong and stupid. A figure dressed in black and wrapped in deep-red glow, For the Tainted Sorrow. Suddenly, the dark space between them brightened. It wasn’t a gun they were reaching for but a torchlight. The light was aimed at the sky enlightening them about this encounter. They didn’t even use it to blind the mafioso and make a run for it. Even more stupid than he gave them credit for.
“Well, damn,” they said with a bright and irritatingly unafraid smile on their face. “Nakahara Chūya, the gravity-manipulator and martial artist. I am not buying lottery tickets this month.”
Chūya tilted his head in question. A very well-informed enemy or… simpleton Dazai never failed to open his big mouth. “Dear Detective Agency,” he sighed with irritation. “Suicidal moron can’t shut up about me.”
“That’s where you’re right,” they confirmed, straightforward and facile.
“What do you want?” Nakahara asked, crossing his arms. The Agency was an enemy; however, fighting them here and now would do nothing for the greater conflict. Boss, too, proclaimed temporary ceasefire. Acting against Boss’ orders was equal to betrayal. Also, they didn’t look like a challenge or threat in any way with that too eager to please and appease attitude.
“Just looking for something stolen,” they replied, nonchalant. “My guess is that you are here for the same reason.” This openness of theirs was getting on mafioso’s nerves. He wasn’t known for a patient temper. The Agency member could have tried to dance around his questions, run or offer a trade-off. But it seemed like they were trying to work out some semblance of functional cooperation. As long as it went within the lines of his loyalty to Port Mafia, he could match this pace.
The smile grew on their face before they turned off the light. It was bright.
“We can help each other!” Agency’s detective offered in a chirpy manner.
“Can we now?” Chūya scoffed, amused. “Just say you need my help.”
“I don’t,” they shook their head. It wasn’t spoken in mockery or false confidence. While the darkness blurred their features, he still heard the smile on their lips. “But you need mine.”
Nakahara raised a brow, antagonized. Dazai must have been giving out lessons. Bandaged freak had an unmatched skill, but they were gravelling him fairly fast too. Chūya didn’t need help, especially from a detective of the Agency. Nakahara was a Port Mafia Executive; he was the merge of a human and a god Arahabaki. Help was the last thing he needed. He expected them to prove the point, but his patience was running dangerously thin each second.
“The smugglers,” the person started talking quickly as if sensing the heat, “didn’t finish their transaction. What did they do with the merchandise? It’s a pier. Not many places to hide things.”
“If they had half-a-brain, an airtight aluminum case would take a day or two underwater,” Chūya shrugged.
“I bet you don’t want to swim tonight, it’s cold, brrrr,” they rubbed their shoulders, mimicking the experience. “So, I will graciously save you from that.”
Mafioso crossed arms on his chest and smirked. There was no way of impressing him, less so of doing him any favours. But he was allowing for this to happen simply because it was quite fun. It didn’t last long, however. Soon, the sound of moving water filled the dark and silence around them. And something rectangular came from the water and floated into their hands effortlessly. It was the case, unmistakably, it couldn’t be anything else.
“I can beckon objects towards myself if I know what they are,” they succinctly explained. “Since I know yours, it’s fair that you know mine.”
Chūya didn’t ask but was given an answer. Perhaps, by some strange morality it was fairer for him to know their ability since they knew about his. But this wasn’t the world that cared about fairness. They were coming from two different worlds, opposing views. They were enemies. It wasn’t personal. From the wrong side, one of them for sure was, had to be. Yet the Agency’s detective continued with the task as if nothing were amiss. Chūya watched them take out a lock-picker’s set. He chuckled, amused. All that talk about morality…
“You are probably here for the valuables,” they continued to talk, unbothered, while trying to pick the lock. “Allow me take one thing. Our client has sentimental value attached to one of the objects inside.”
“They stole more than just valuables,” Nakahara replied. Wittingly or not, he almost said more than needed. Chūya had to hold his tongue from saying anything more. Speaking more than needed would be more than just unwise.
“Ah, is that an invitation to take everything else but what you need?”
“No.”
“Kidding, kidding.”
The case opened with a distinct click. A sound of a skilful lock-picking. From the Armed Detective Agency, indeed. But, true to their word, only one thing was taken. Nakahara had no clue why that would be an object of sentimental value, however, but Lady Luck was on their side. He didn’t need that.
“Thank you for your cooperation,” they said, standing up, and offering a polite and reserved smile.
“That’s it?” mafioso asked, unimpressed. There were a few things he could imagine being spoken, tastefully mixed into the conversation, to make a little sharper, a little more dangerous. “Nothing else to add, dear Detective Agency?”
“Gimme a sec.” There was a theatrical pause perfectly executed. Acting worthy of the effect it produced, with a finger to tier mouth and a thoughtful expression on their face. “Oh, no, Port Mafia! How could you! That’s not right, Port Mafia!”
Chūya shook his head. It was amusing it its twisted, overly dramatic way, but the comedy was too close to reality to be truly funny.
Their act was quickly dropped, switched for a more serious expression and tone. “You could have thrown me into the water the moment you saw me or a moment after when you realized who I was. But you didn’t. And agreed to cooperate.”
“That’s—”
“Hm?”
“Never mind,” Nakahara dismissed the protest. For one, defending his perfectly logical actions seemed foolish. Second, and most importantly, there was no need for him to voice it and neither it seemed to be heard. If that’s gratitude they were offering — to hell with it.
“Scatter,” Chūya commanded in slight jest. “I have work to do.”
The detective bowed to him in jest, most graciously bowing out of their encounter. He let them go and afterwards sighed. There was much a lot of work left to do.
One would safely and reasonably assume this one chance of an encounter was the only time he’d meet someone from the Agency outside of conflict. It wasn’t so. Sometime later he got to see them again. It wasn’t anything related to a job and happened in the light of day. He saw them with jinko and young murderess approaching the local shopping centre. At the entrance, however, they stopped and waved goodbye. The kids proceeded on their own inside. That would have been it: Chūya saw them, they didn’t see him. Such was his conviction, until they waved at him. From afar, sure, and it could have been anyone else who was in his general direction. But somehow, he had a feeling it was aimed at him and no one else. He didn’t acknowledge them in any way.
Tumblr media
“C’mon out anyone who’s still alive,” he grinned maliciously into the camera. Chūya was having a bit too much enjoyment with this. After all, it was about time he’d get to play cat and mouse with the Agency. Ceasefire wasn’t much fun.
In the dark tunnel, finally echoed footsteps other than his. Playing the messenger was a boring beat, but a brawl wasn’t completely out of the question, ever.
“Just two of you? What an insult,” Chūya sighed. Just two enemies and not even the most intriguing ones. It all unfolded just the Boss’ predicted. The Agency cannot help itself but to be predictable this way. A confrontation was started to make the blood run hotter. He wasn’t a good match for a messenger job anyway. Everything was working out splendidly. Except for when the voice came from the speakers. The voice belonged to an enemy, the other side that Port Mafia will never reconcile with. He knew the voice — knew exactly who it belonged to — but still hearing it here and now was somewhat unexpected. Something he couldn’t even explain to himself.
“President, with all due respect, I’d like to say something,” came from the speakers. Nakahara stilled the moment he heard it coming from the speakers, he wanted to hear everything.
“I believe in the Agency’s strength just as much as you do, you know it. But we cannot take on the Guild alone. There’s one thing Nakahara was right about: we are short staffed,” the voice on the other side spoke with underlined worry. Mafioso wondered how it felt to speak rather defensively of your enemy. What he’d like to know even more is why even speak in defence of an enemy. But since it was serving Port Mafia’s purpose…
“But if you think such crude tactics would work on us, then Mafia is unfit for waging war,” the President’s voice spoke.
“Veiled threat from the enemy leader himself? Such an honour,” Chūya mocked.
“What are you hiding?”
“Not a thing.”
“He is not lying,” familiar voice interfered. The gravity wielder grinned devilishly. He wasn’t lying, they were correct in that assessment. But it was no good news for them. A shame, truly. For them. So bravely and insistently speak in the enemy’s support. That was the luxury or stupidity few could afford. He couldn’t.
“Why would we need to move?” Nakahara asked with the same smile on his face.
“Alright, fancy hat,” another voice spoke up. And then there was a snicker. Chūya never heard them snicker before but had no doubts it was them. Otherwise, it was the enemy leader and that was a far less appealing thought. Fancy hat?
Tumblr media
It wasn’t because he had any doubts about Boss’ plan or because he didn’t trust in the abilities of his fellow comrades. It was because he hated Dazai. Because he wanted to see what was going to happen, what that schemer had pulled this time. And because deep inside Nakahara already knew what sort of deal the Boss would make given the chance. Mori wanted Dazai back in the Mafia, and while Chūya was perfectly content without the failed suicide around, it wasn’t for him to say so. Whatever cliché game he was asked to play, he’d play it till the end.
From up here he could witness the whole thing and, if something were to go terribly wrong, he’d be down there in seconds. But he had unwavering faith in Boss’ planning. Still, the cigarette in his mouth was burning. It was boredom. From up here, he could see everything but not hear it or be entertained by any other means. One, two, three, four…Number four is deadly, according to superstitions.
“Fancy seeing you here!” said the voice from behind. Familiar voice, sure, but it was not supposed to be heard here. Chūya turned his head. That very same detective of the Agency coming to him at such convenient time? It couldn’t be a coincidence. What a cliché, Dazai, especially for you.
A huff, a puff. The cigarette started to taste a lot better now. “What are you doing here?” It wasn’t a question but a warning.
“Don’t worry, no one knows I am here. If you throw me off this roof, it’s a perfect crime,” they quickly assured. And while there was a small laugh at the end of that sentence, he could hear it was filled with anxious tension. “I wasn’t invited for the meeting either but still came to watch. It’s not as concealed up here as you’d think.”
Mafioso kept quiet, feeling annoyed, feeling played for a fool. But before the right words to scare them off came to mind, the voice spoke once again.
“Here,” there was a nudge on his shoulder, “it’s a far better thing to put in your mouth.”
Nakahara looked at what was offered. Goddamn ice-cream? He raised a brow in question. This was more than just a little strange. This was getting a little ridiculous. And the idea of throwing them off the roof didn’t seem as alien as before. Nonetheless, under his murderous gaze, they didn’t relent, continuing to hold up the ice-cream in stubborn generosity.
He had to look away from them. “Damn it.” Agitated, he still begrudgingly put out the cigarette and accepted the ice-cream. The packaging wasn’t messed with, with drops of water from being in the freezer just recently. They, too, had one. An ice-cream for themselves with the packaging matching. Mafioso tore it open. Damnit. It was cold and sweet, vanilla flavour hidden underneath dark chocolate.
“See? I was right. It is a better thing to put in your mouth,” they grinned at him. Not malicious, not mocking, it was a cheerful, kind smile of a friend. They were enemies, people from different sides, fighting for different things. Reconciliation was not an acceptance — a strategy.
“Choose your words better,” Nakahara scoffed.
“Sorry, sor—"
“Or I will throw you off the roof.”
“I said sorry. So, um, what do you think? It’s going fine, right? Even if it’s just to defeat the Guild, we can come to an agreement of sorts? You’d help, right?”
“What are you getting at?”
“I am… worried.”
“About?” he asked without any interest whatsoever. But since this was a conversation — a very used play at social norms and small talk — he would indulge them only for the duration of this ice-cream. A shame to let a good thing go to waste.
“My…comrades,” the enemy answered. That was a delicate answer. Too delicate for such situation. Even Chūya could understand the worry one would have for one’s friends and comrades. Yet something didn’t sit right with him as if a gut feeling telling something he couldn’t yet understand.
“So, if you are fighting alongside one of them, would you help them?” they asked. It sounded so naïve and genuine. Terribly sweet, just like this ice-cream. Underneath the dark chocolate, something awfully sweet and innocent white in colour.
“Is that what their life if worth?” Chūya asked, thoroughly amused. Quite a conversation maker this one. “An ice-cream?”
“Nah, a life is invaluable. And smoking kills. Take care of yourself.”
Chūya laughed. Loudly, thunderously, profoundly regaled. He was pillorying them and their ideas. But, still a nudge on his shoulder, playful in its manner.
“I am counting on you, Nakahara Chūya!”
This was getting too ridiculous for Nakahara to comprehend as a sane person. “Scatter.” He didn’t even mean it maliciously or as a sincere threat. It was a reminiscent jest. And like before, they bowed to him and offered a polite smile, graciously leaving the situation.
Tumblr media
Chūya hated Dazai. He hated all the faces Dazai had: arrogant kid, suicidal failure, scheming bastard, traitor, liar, and womanizer. It wasn’t even all the list of masks his ex-partner had. But Chūya would take out the trash once they were done here. The reunion was a temporary arrangement. After, he would be free to deal with Dazai as he wished. What else he hated? The number of body bags his people came back in. All at the fault of a child whose ability was abhorrent.
“Do it,” Chūya said with certainty. He would remember that number for a good while after this is all over and is but a history.
“Oh yeah?” Dazai sounded too chirpy for himself. “Well, in that case…” The knife Dazai conveniently snitched slashed the wooden cage Q was trapped in. Nakahara watched, and the mafia-black blood boiled inside him.
“Your hypocrisy makes me want to vomit,” he stated with sincere spite. The knife stopped chipping at wood as Dazai started to explain such hypocritical act. Excuses, excuses, that was the core of this traitor. Chūya knew for a fact what his ex-partner thought of Q’s ability. What a pathetic, lying bastard.
“It’s a logical decision,” Dazai excused his actions. “Plus, I don’t know how I would look them in the eye.”
“The Agency?” Nakahara shrugged, uninterested.
“Aren’t you curious, Chūya?” It was taunting. “Nosy about my personal life?”
“Personal life? You don’t have such a thing, womanizer.”
“People change, Chūya,” Dazai replied with a sickeningly familiar smile. The bastard meant what he said. Gravity manipulator hated him all the more for it.
Nakahara crossed his arms. “People? Maybe. What do you have to do with them?”
His ex-partner pretentiously pouted. “You know, Chūya, I know your moves down to pacing and breathing.” Dazai stood up. The knife remained plunged into the wood. “But I never knew you liked ice-cream.”
“Bastard, I knew it was your scheme!”
“What? No.” Ex-mafia shook his head. “What would be in it for me? But relationships are built on trust and honesty. So, naturally, I came to know of it. I was as just as surprised as you were.”
That sickening smile, that arrogant tone! Chūya had Dazai pinned down as well. The assortment of face masks of his once-partner…and the appalling pleasure to study them all. But the most abhorrent thing was that the hypocrite wasn’t lying. The bandaged bastard was taking pleasure in speaking the truth.
Dazai was slowly shortening the distance between them. “So, why did you behave like an obedient dog, Chūya?” The languid steps forward, putting them dangerously close together. The shorter mafioso pressed his fingers into a tight fist. The leather gloves squeaked.
“Answer me, Chūya, for old times’ sake,” Dazai continued to provoke. “I don’t think it’s because of ice-cream, was it? Could it be…? Oh.”
You are on thin fucking ice, Dazai. It wasn’t for any other reason than killing time. It wasn’t because he found them strangely intriguing in their passive acceptance of him being from Mafia. And it wasn’t because they spoke in his defence. To speak in your enemy’s benefit was the luxury or stupidity few could afford. He wasn’t impressed by their stubborn kindness despite knowing that he was stronger than them. That he could kill them. That he was an enemy.
“You never could hide your emotions, Chūya. Your face does say it for you,” Dazai was now grinning viciously. “You like them, don’t you? You like them.”
Chūya pushed forward, angry, provoked, with all the spite he could muster. The fist landed hard. The force of his punch sent Dazai stumbling backwards. But there was glee in those dark eyes. The delight Chūya rarely witnessed, but it wasn’t totally alien. It felt good for him too — to punch Dazai in the face like that. Yet his blood was still boiling hot. And there was a bitter and tight feeling in his throat, tasting of sweet vanilla ice-cream.
“Oh, the look on your face, Chūya,” Dazai mumbled, mocking, gleeful, and seeming to ignore the swelling on his face and the pain that came with it. “How did you say it before? “Better than a masterpiece worth millions”?”

Moth Mondays with the Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera:
Hokey Wolf “himself”
Part bon vivant, part scammer in the Sgt. Bilko mould, it also happens that he enjoys diving underwater--not just with Peter Potamus’ diving company, but also alongside his bosom chum, Ding-a-Ling. And one particular diving adventure of his is related here and now:
Such a relief from the ennui we had been experiencing for some time like you wouldn’t believe came by way of a letter smelling like some sea-inspired perfume ... with a postmark of Avalon, California, besides! As in Catalina Island, 26 miles across the sea, to borrow from the songwriter! And yet when opening the very letter, I tried not to faint at the stench ... for the letter was written by a certain “Bubbles” in a somewhat elegant, if exaggerated, hand, in the name of a certain Catalina Diving Clowder! And inviting not only myself, but also my boon companion, Ding-a-Ling, on a diving adventure in the waters of The Magic Isle, the Clowder to send ferry tickets and with accomodation at the Clowder’s quarters, with spectacular view of Avalon Bay as well!
“Uh, Hokey,” Ding queried after I read the letter, “what exactly is a ‘clowder,’ to begin with?” Not one to suggest that Ding look things up in the dictionary, I explained that “Ding, a ‘clowder’ is what you call a group of cats, such as are on Catalina! After all, is not ‘cat’ the first word in Catalina?”
“How obvious can you get, Hokey?” was how Ding answered.
And it was within a couple of days that a courier came along and sent us the tickets for the Catalina ferry from San Pedro, leaving us a few hours to pack light (as the letter from “Bubbles” suggested, adding that they would furnish the diving gear) and request the cab to the Catalina Terminal in San Pedro ... which, thanks to judicious driving as avoided the freeways, allowed us to reach the boat with but minutes to spare! And to be able to get ourselves an open-air deck seat on the ferry over ... smell that fascinating sea breeze, Hokey, and imagine the sensation of diving in Catalina’s waters with actual cats!!
Which, upon our arrival at the Cabrillo Mole dock, were represented by Jayne, a sassy-looking doll of a diver, and Lola, something of a life-loving dive gal herself, preparing to drive us in one of those Catalina vans to the Clowder’s premi. Of which two things stand out, namely, the “Diver Down” flag over the entrance door and a rather substantial picture window from their living room out unto Avalon Harbour--the view especially beautiful at sunset!
And as is something of a custom with the Clowder, the supper of the evening before the dive for invited guests is a seafood such; the Clowder knows of a rather interesting seafood market near the Tuna Club quarters in Avalon, and can get some rather wonderful seafood rivalling that of the better seafood grottoes on the mainland ... this time, tuna and bonita tettrazini was the main dish, in a light cream sauce accented with bacon bits. How wonderful, if you ask me and Ding!
As for the dive spot ... “Bubbles” decided that it would be a “mystery location” off Catalina, to be revealed once the dive got well underway. Which was enough to prompt much speculation by way of the dive map on the wall of their den, only to have “Bubbles” remind us that we would all find out in due time. Reinforced by way of blindfolds put over our eyes as we boarded their dive boat in Avalon Harbour the following morning..
Under orders to keep the blindfolds on until instructed to take off, speculation reigned aboard the dive vessel ... until Jayne, in command of the vessel, gave the command to take the blinds off, revealing our “mystery location” to be in the vicinity of Little Harbour/Shark Cove, a rather popular dive locale which can be credited to a mix of kelp forests, rock reefs, abalone and halibut, among other marine life to be experienced. Anchoring offshore to avoid the inevitable dive crowds, all of us were relieved to find out where we were diving to begin with as we suited up and got checked out. Samantha, for her part, helped make sure that Ding’s mask and harness got fitted properly, considering his size ... and TALLY-HO!
And after awhile of some confusion on my part, Jessamaine tapped me on my shoulder and directed me to “where the action was,” about 30 feet offshore and about 50 feet deep. I have to admit that I never saw a kelp forest so dense and so photogenic as that off Shark Cove, which may explain why it took quite awhile, as well as considerable nerve besides, to get through such a dense grove of kelp as that. Yet you couldn’t help but admire the beauty and the passion of such wonderfully curvaceous feline divers as the Clowder is composed of ... and neither could Ding, for that matter, who couldn’t resist the sight of such reef fish amongst such a stunning rock reef such as Jayne was quick to point out during the dive!
But if there were one particularly memorable moment out of the dive to be taken away from the subsequent debriefing on board our dive pontoon, it would have to be my managing not to get caught in such kelp forests such as they have off Catalina by not being so hasty in passing through them....

Gelsenkirchen: Zoom
-english-
The city of Gelsenkirchen already had zoological garden 130 years ago. In 1889 Karl Cofflet decided to turn his property in Gelsenkirchen into an animal park.
Tumblr media
He opened a tavern in 1889 and used the proceeds to gradually introduce the visitors to exotic animals as well as mongooses, macaque monkeys or some snakes.
Tumblr media
70 years ago, the Ruhr Zoo  opened then in the green area of Bismarckhain, the green area south of the Rhein-Herne-Channel, which wrote local zoo history.
Tumblr media
Around 20 million guests visited the Ruhr Zoo in the first 40 years and admired many innovations: in 1952, the Great Ape House was opened, and the first orangutans moved in.
Tumblr media
The animals vegetated in much too small and not very natural designed cages to themselves. Concrete and steel were the most used building materials. The wild cats paced back and forth in their cages, always facing the gaze of the visitors.
Tumblr media
The elephants also only had a minimalist area and often stood in the same place for a long time, shifting their weight from one leg to the other and swinging their heads and their trunk from one side to the other.
Tumblr media
Over the years, the Ruhr Zoo became less and less contemporary and less attractive. With the absence of visitors but also the problems were getting bigger. In 1987, the Zoo Foundation Association was founded.
Tumblr media
The former Ruhr Zoo was completely renovated in the past decade (more or less razed to the ground) and renamed "Zoom Erlebniswelt" (Zoom adventure world).
Tumblr media
Today, the Zoom Erlebniswelt offers more than 800 animals and 23 species of animals over an area of more than 30 hectares. The zoom world is divided into three thematic areas: Alaska, Africa and Asia.
Tumblr media
At the entrance arised the "Grimberger Hof" with beer garden, petting zoo, climbing playground and rare German livestock such as Danish Protest Pig or the Hinterwald Cattle.
Tumblr media
Alaska gives you an insight into the different vegetation zones of North America: the 1.3 kilometer circular trail leads us from the coastal rainforests over the tundra and the rocky mountain landscape to the polar region.
Tumblr media
At least as exciting is the abandoned mine directly opposite the bear enclosure. Once upon a time, the gold diggers must have dug for their luck here.
Tumblr media
The landscapes and enclosures are perfectly designed to the theme and come up with many small details. We walk like adventurers between rocks and rivers. Waterfalls with adventurous suspension bridges doing a spectacular scenario for the bears and for us to watch.
Tumblr media
Special features here include the underwater glass tunnel in the basin of the California Sea Lions and the 3,000 m² bear complex that shows Polar, Kamchatka and Kodiak bears.
Tumblr media
The safari through Africa takes us, next to the lions first, over a total distance of 1.8 kilometers. However, they have made themselves quite comfortable and doze well camouflaged in their enclosure.
Tumblr media
Africa shows a village with domestic breeds, savanna scenery and the rainforest. A boat trip leads around the baboon rocks and along the different landscape enclosures.
Tumblr media
The vast savanna with zebras, various gazelles and antelopes seemed endless. This impression is supported by the fact that it pulls along a slight slope, so that the otherworldly boundary isn´t visible to fast.
Tumblr media
There is also an island where you walk through the enclosure of a group of lemurs, completely fenced off. If you do not like it, you can alternatively choose the path around the enclosure.
Tumblr media
Asia is the youngest area with jungles, orangutans and many small Asian animals. A 1,300-meter-long promenade, sometimes even 5 meters in the height, meanders through the jungle. In addition, there is an indoor playground and a food court, which also served evening hours.
Tumblr media
The gastronomy doesn´t stands out despite thematic naming, for example Africa Lodge or Alaska Diner, from the usual average offer.
Tumblr media
Prices / Day ticket summer: Adults € 21.50 Children (4 to 12 years) 14,00 € Pupils and students with valid ID 16,00 € Dogs 6,00 € Prices / day ticket winter: Adults € 15.50 Children (4 to 12 years) 10,50 € Students and students with valid ID 12.50 € Dogs 5.00 € For the parking lot  6 Euro are cheekily charged as a daily rate!

If you thought archaeology had lost its magic in this age of satellite and drone photography, Mostaf Waziry would like to disabuse you of that notion. The head of Egypt’s Supreme Council for Antiquities (now that’s a job title) regaled press at a Thursday morning preview for Egypt’s Sunken Cities at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Only 40% of Egypt’s ancient history has been uncovered! New discoveries were made just this week! They can’t build museums fast enough!
French archaeologist Franck Goddio was considerably lower-key, but there was no need to trumpet his achievements: he’s the guy who discovered the legendary lost cities of Canopus and Thonis-Heracleion (the latter thought to be two separate cities until Goddio demonstrated they’re one and the same), recovering artifacts submerged for millennia beneath the Mediterranean Sea.
The bulk of that work has been done in the 21st century, lending a scintillating sense of revelation to the exhibit, which opens to the public on Nov. 4. Artifact labels are marked with waves to indicate which pieces were recovered by Goddio’s underwater team; other pieces are included to provide context. In a series of galleries, most painted aqua green to set a properly marine mood, visitors are invited to contemplate these long-lost treasures of one of the world’s great civilizations.
Three colossal statues also mark the exhibit’s arrival, standing in the museum’s lobby and in a rotunda near the show’s entrance. A pharaoh, a queen, a god: the three invite contemplation of the famed mythological order that gave shape to the ancient Egyptians’ lives. Their visit to Minneapolis (after previous stops in Zurich, London, Paris, and St. Louis) is remarkable testament to Mia’s resources and tenacity.
The exhibit itself isn’t overfull: the artifacts, ranging from large stone pieces to tiny tools, are positioned by curatorial staff to allow proper regard of their mysteries. As Goddio pointed out on Thursday, some elements of the pieces on display wouldn’t have been seen by Egyptians ranking lower than high priests, which makes the $20 ticket price seem like a steal.
Artifacts on display include an obelisk, tablets, and sarcophagi — but the most haunting pieces are the statues. A queen dressed as Isis stares out with hollowed eyes, her arms broken away just above the wrists. The story of her journey is incredible; listening devices and a beautiful catalog help to tell it.
These days, it often seems like the world is about to end…and for that granodiorite queen, it essentially did. Yet, she’s still here.

A Super Magical Day at Tokyo Disney Sea
I hyped myself up a lot for Tokyo Disney Sea, and it LIVED TO THE HYPE. A highlight of my Japan trip! The last time I’ve been to Disneyland was on a band field trip in the 8th grade. (Also great memories. I remember singing to Mulan on the bus and riding California Adventure 3 times.)
People in Japan take Disneyland/Disney Sea seriously. I’m not kidding when I say people make a mad dash to get fast passes in the first 20 min of park opening. It was a little terrifying but also adrenaline-inducing!! Here’s our perfect schedule:
9:20 arrive at the park
10:00 park opens, make a mad dash for Tower of Terror FP
Ride 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (5-10 min wait)
Line up for Journey to the Center of the Earth (~90 min wait)
Check lottery for Big Band Beat show (didn’t win :()
Ride Tower of Terror with FP (~10min)
Get Raging Spirits FP (~15min)
Lunch at Mama Biscotti’s
Walk around the park
Ride Sinbad’s Voyage (5-10 min wait)
Ariel’s Lagoon King Triton’s Concert Show (~5min wait)
Dinner at Vulcania
Ride Raging Spirits with FP (~10 min)
Watch fireworks show
Ride Venetian Gondolas
We did pretty much everything we wanted to do, except ride the Indiana Jones ride which was closed that day (SAD).
Rides 🎢
My favorite ride was Raging Spirits. It’s just a roller coaster but it was plain old fun. I also got to see the super bright full moon at the top right before we whooshed down~ Tower of Terror has a great queue theming. My friend and I had fun reading the labels of cabinets that said stuff like “Voodoo Techniques” and “Mummifying Methods.” Tower of Terror was more on the scary side because I don’t like continuous drops, but it wasn’t too bad. Journey to the Center of the Earth impressed me with the animatronics, and the end was pretty thrilling. Sinbad’s Voyage is basically It’s a Small World, but the music and atmosphere were really nice, and it was a good way to rest our tired feet. Riding the gondolas at night under the full moon was SUPER romantic, but rip the guy who tried to put his arm around his girlfriend but was told by the staff to keep his arms inside the boat. 😂
Shows 🧜‍♀️🐟
We only watched one show, which was King Triton’s Concert in the Mermaid Lagoon. It was a combination of live actors and projections. All I have to say about Ariel’s actress is: ABS ABS ABS ABS ABS. The girl is literally held up by two wires in the air and has to “swim” around the theater, smiling and posing and wriggling her tail like she’s underwater. Oh and did I mention she did like ten flips. The show is aimed at 6 year old kids but that meant it was the perfect level of Japanese for watashi who wakarimashita’ed zenbu the nihongo. 👌
We happened across an unexpected small show in the middle of the park when we saw a trash collector. He seemed like a normal janitorial staff...until you realized everything he did was accompanied by comical sound effects. He acted out what seemed like a Pixar short in real life...it was amazing. The timing was spot on! When he took off his glasses and winked at the end, the “ting~” sound made everyone laugh.
Food 🍿🥔
The food lines for snack vendors are LONG. Apparently, everyone is crazy about the popcorn (they have a bunch of different flavors) but I didn’t try any. I did try the potato churro though, which was savory instead of sweet.
I was very excited the try to little green alien mochi and was so glad they didn’t run out!! There are three flavors, strawberry, chocolate, and lemon. The strawberry is the best one hands down. 🍓
I also got the mapo tofu at Vulcanian, a Chinese restaurant in the volcano. It was pretty good, but beware you have to buy the rice separately.
Other Misc Highlights
Getting off the Disney monorail and unwittingly following a crowd...OF EMPLOYEES into the employee only entrance
Mistaking the park opening time as 8:30 instead of 10:00 (google y u lie) but ended up getting a pretty good spot in line
Experiencing the mad dash all around us while Disney cast members smiled and told us politely not to run
Two Japanese guys in front of us in the fast pass ticketing for raging spirits hearing us speak English so they also decide to speak in English, all the while looking back at us to check our reactions after each really staged English line.
Buying Mickey Mouse earrings hue hue
Super efficient customer service when we lost our fast pass at raging spirits. The girl at the line called for backup which arrived smiling in under 5 seconds. They checked our tickets in the system and took care of the whole thing in under 2 minutes.
All the cast members smiling and genuinely caring about your experience.
All in all, a 10/10 theme park experience!! Tickets for one day are 7400 yen, so it’s pricey, but worth it!!

By Jessie YeungCNN The journey to the very best restaurant in South Korea begins with a whale show. The ethereal 123F Lounge is positioned on the highest ground of Lotte World Tower in Seoul, 555 meters (about 1,820 toes) above the bottom. The tower is the tallest constructing within the nation and the fifth tallest constructing on the earth, in line with its official website. Nevertheless it seems that attending to the restaurant is not as straightforward as getting out and in of an elevator; it's fairly an expertise that may simply take as much as an hour. After buying an entrance ticket (27,000 KRW (roughly $20) for adults and 24,000 KRW ($18) for youngsters), guests enter a ready room, awash in blue mild as whales swim by way of a large display screen on the roof. A number of completely different rooms comply with, some with skilled picture alternatives, others showcasing the constructing supplies that make up the tower, earlier than a bewildering collection of whale-themed areas. There are two lengthy corridors: one lit in darkish blue as whales swim previous you on wall shows, the opposite with LED ceiling panels that rotate by way of colourful mosaic patterns, in stark distinction to the white whale images. and black on the wall. Vaguely whale-sounding calls add to the underwater vibe. One other room has pretend clouds suspended within the air and whales painted on the wall, showing in mid-flight. (I later discovered that that is all a part of a brief exhibition celebrating the work of whale photographer Jang Nam-won.) Many whales later, you lastly arrive The elevator, it takes one minute to journey to the seoul Sky Observatory, touring at 10 meters per second. Upon exiting, guests are led to take a seat in a darkened room as a video performs, ostensibly an inventive depiction of the historical past of Seoul and the Lotte World Tower, earlier than the display screen splits into two big panels, slowly rising like a curtain to disclose the beautiful views of Seoul by way of floor-to-ceiling home windows. The observatory spans a number of flooring, with big home windows that permit for a 360-degree panoramic view of the metropolis. One can see the long-lasting N Seoul Tower perched on Namsan Mountain, bridges spanning the river, parks and sports activities stadiums, and even the rides on the close by Lotte World theme park. Every ground gives completely different points of interest, like small cafes on the 119th and 122nd flooring. There's the Sky Deck on the 118th ground, with a glass ground that permits you to see 1,568 toes (478 meters) between your footwear and the road far beneath. . There's the Sky Terrace on the a hundred and twentieth ground, an open-air balcony with an ideal view of the winding Han River. After the suitable quantity of ooh-ing and aah-ing, you lastly attain the corridor on the 123rd ground. The restaurant is spacious and welcoming, with snug chairs and lamps at every desk. Home windows type a full wall and lengthen to the excessive ceiling to flood the house with heat mild at sundown. A free viewer means that you can zoom in on the panorama. The menu is costly by Korean requirements: $28 for a beef stew, $19 for tomato spaghetti, and $18 for a Caesar salad, however we took our time, watching the solar dip beneath the horizon, briefly tinting the sky. of an intense orange. The restaurant additionally gives pizza, sandwiches, steak, and appetizers, together with a number of cheeses. The view was simply as dazzling in the dead of night, town like a grid of sunshine stretching out earlier than us. Though the 123F Lounge is an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or particular date, there have been additionally households with kids and teams of younger grownup associates once we visited.
