Under the Same Stars / Ch 12 / Whatever You Tell Me, I Will Believe You

“It’s not about a girl and a singing tree,” she told him in a whisper, “it’s about a man who hears a woman's song coming out of a weirwood.” Her heart began to race, her mind catching up with her own words while the bard recounted a tale very much like her own. “The woman’s song is sad and mournful,” she translated. “‘I’m a woman of Valyria, the Children have stolen me over again, the tree seemed to say. I stood upon the hill, and the wind did rise, and the sound of thunder rose across the land.” Dany swallowed as her eyes misted. “I placed my hands on the white bark, and I traveled to a far and distant land where I lived for a time among strangers who became lovers and friends.’”

Breathless now, she wasn’t sure what was real and what was not.

“I know this story,” Jon said. “They’re always about maidens traveling far from home.”

Sorrow clutched her heart as the story continued to unfold. “But one day, I saw the moon come out, and the wind rose once more. I touched the weirwood, and traveled back to my own land.” Dany lay a hand over her heart as she took it all in. “She went back through the weirwood.”

“Aye,” Jon conceded simply. “They always do.”

WIP Tag Game

My word was HOME. These are all from the final chapter of Under the Same Stars (though it's looking like the final two chapters because it's so long). I didn't want to be too spoilery so we're keeping it short and sweet!

H: He turned up her chin. “What did I tell you last night?” 

She took a breath to keep her emotion at bay. “That you believe me.”

“I believe you, Southron Girl,” he repeated, and then calmed her with a kiss. “And no one will harm you.”

O: “Oh!” Dany continued, looking up at the blue sky. “We have things called airplanes which are like cars but they’re much bigger and they fly through the sky. You could fly from the Riverlands to Essos, over the sea in less than a day.” The empty sky made her miss home.

Jon looked overhead too. “Like dragon riders.” 

M: “More,” she begged. “Please.” 

E:  “Even if it means I must lose you.”

Under the Same Stars / Ch 11 / The Reckoning Part 2

Sparks fly between Jon and Dany after their escape from King’s Landing as they’re forced to face the differences between them. Their situation only gets more complicated when they reach Riverrun and they must answer to Robb and the Northern lords.

The Moon, Mercury, and the Pleiades star cluster

Famous musician with three daughters under the age of seven Eddie Munson hears that they’re making a Barbie movie and offers/peer pressures his agent to get him presented to the production team as a potential songwriter for the soundtrack. He meets with the team, and eventually the cast, and they all hit it off, and he writes and plays on the eventually award-winning song “I’m Just Ken.”

When he gets asked about whether or not it was hard to write this song, especially since it’s so different from Corroded Coffin’s usual output, he always laughs and says it was easy because he’s got a hell of a Barbie at home that he lives to worship.

(Which the internet finds hilarious because his Barbie is certified Normal Guy and Hot Dad Steve Harrington.)

I love rebel fox's ridiculously big sleeves

So glad you do — I dearly love them too. So many opportunities for flourishing and swishing from a man you would expect to do exactly neither and never

The sleeve is not only aesthetic, but so EXTRA

CW mutilation: Fox’s right hand index-finger: “Ahsoka’s Gift” - In the arc where Fives (appears) to get shot by Fox, enraged by this and by her treatment by the Coruscant guard during her trial arc, Ahsoka takes revenge on the offending digit that shot the gun. With her teeth, btw — it gets a bit wild. Side-note: It factors in for the other clones that Fox is not right-handed, but that’s the hand he uses to shoot Fives. Then again, most clones are trained/raised/adjusted to be ambidextrous, so — it’s just odd all around, from the outside.

GAR armor: In keeping with the AU title and inspiration (Repurposing GAR armor towards the end of pulverizing wrinkly Sith — A guide by CC-1010, ecstatically-ex-marshal commander of Coruscant), Fox has kept his GAR shoulder-guards, a cutout of his chestplate, and knee-guards (plus one shin-guard), though the paint on them has been adjusted or worn.

Oversized sleeve: Beneath the batwing sleeve and dramatic flair, Fox is hiding whatever the rebellion uses instead of the Mandalorian Whistling Birds, in addition to an elbow-mini-blaster that fires a max of four shots, and extra ammo. (Also the sleeve is removable — think detachable bridal train)

CW self-destruction: On the reverse side of his chest-plate piece, Fox has an explosive device with multiple ways to rig it to explode. While it is detachable and likely could be used to explode OTHER things, the primary intent is a last resort gesture of defiance should he run out of other options.

Fox also has a replaced tooth (which he makes use of, but no spoilers here) and a metal plate protecting the surgery point for when his chip was removed. Since Fox is Fox, he prioritized speed over care at the time, so it is permanent vulnerability due to how his skull was treated and recovered afterward.

“Sir, we’ve… There’s been an encounter with a Reaper class entity.” 

There were several classifications for ecto-entities. Several ways the Ghost Investigation Ward classified each. Several common ones that they could easily destroy, easily study. Others however… others were dangerous. Incredibly dangerous. 

There’d only been two other Reaper-class entities confirmed before- both contained but barely. RP-1, a large knight-like entity seemingly made from shadows, and RP-2, a child-like creature that could near perfectly mimic a human. 

And now, there was a third. A third entity that could- and judging from the reports coming in had- killed. Had done so several times even. Which meant it needed to be contained yesterday. 

“Send out the teams- I want this thing in Site X Now!”
