the way I could over analyze everything about the fabian-adaine dynamic. her being the first one to talk to him after the whitclaw fight vs him being the first one to welcome her back after she’s captured. when she plants another sword in front of fabian and it’s the first one he actually picks up. the way she says she doesn’t like seeing him like this, on a personal level. the way ayda says that she’ll rescue adaine bc she’s her best friend and fabian goes woah woah woah we’re all her best friend I’m losing it I’m going fully insane

the struggle to find that one character

I feel like everyone has that one TV or movie character that everyone can perfectly understand and connect with because they have similar experiences, personalities, or interests as that character. But one of my central frustrations is that I haven't found that character yet. I can relate to aspects of certain characters, like Luz Noceda's struggle to be understood or Joe Gardner's desire to do something of worth in his life. But I haven't that ONE character that I can completely relate to, and to be honest, it makes me feel like I'm not understood and that my struggles aren't known. It's hard for me to express into words how important it is for me to have someone or something to relate to, and lacking a character in any media, whether from a book, TV show, movie, of game, is really making me feel acknowledged. Does anyone else here feel the same way?

Ten years on, I have so many questions about one line of dialogue in Teen Wolf 3B...

We see the chess board with all the names on it and the names correlating with the pieces would suggest that Stiles has an understanding of chess at the bare minimum. But was Stiles a chess kid? And if he is/was or does play chess, how did Peter know? Does Stiles play chess with Peter? Is this just Peter's way of saying Stiles knows how to play games? Is he saying Stiles knows how to strategize and think tactically?

“do you ever think about getting married?”

“um,” atsumu looks at you over his phone screen. “no? we’re babies, dude.”

“we’re twenty,” you sigh, and he watches as you kick your legs up and settle them over his, hooking a hand around your ankle and rubbing his thumb in circles over the nub of bone. “i want to get married.”

“you don’t even have a boyfriend,” he scoffs. “who’re ya gonna marry?”

“i dunno,” your eyes are heavy-lidded, hazy. talking for the sake of talking. he’s listening for the sake of you. “i want… a frat wedding?”

“a what?” he puts his phone down, dropping all semblance of disinterest.

“like, when the american universities have everyone get really drunk and do a pretend wedding for fun. i just want to put streamers everywhere and have a tacky balloon arch and pretend to get married. i want to wear a veil and a miniskirt.”

“okay,” atsumu says hazily, suddenly very aware of the shortness of your shorts and the bareness of the leg he’s touching. miniskirt… “let’s have a frat wedding.”

suddenly, you let out a big huff of air and tip your head back.

“what’s up?” he asks.

“i remembered i don’t have anyone to marry,” you explain. “so no fake wedding.”

you look so dejected, and the corners of your lips are turned down in a pout, and atsumu’s honestly still dedicating about 60% of his brainspace to miniskirt.

“i’ll marry ya,” he says, a little too quickly.

“really?” you say hopefully. “you know that means you’re gonna have to kiss me, right? in front of all of our friends.”

“sounds high-pressure,” atsumu says, lifting your legs out of his lap and setting them aside so he can leverage himself over your prone form. “we’d better start practicin’ now so i don’t embarrass myself.”

Boy band where the members don't have stage names, just numbers. Each number is associated with a particular style and identity, but not with a particular performer. The performers randomly trade stage personas between public appearances and steadfastly refuse to acknowledge the gimmick, consistently acting like the current assignment of stage personas to performers is how it's always been. Possibly there are more performers than numbered personas in order to allow for leaves of absence, or perhaps performers occasionally leave the lineup and are replaced – it's not 100% clear. The portion of their discography that's available for digital sale is periodically updated to change which performer is on lead vocals for any given song, without warning or discernible pattern.

merrill dragon age isn't The Character in terms of being the guy with the juiciest backstory details or protagonist material but she is The Person. The Heart. she was working on one of the most important researches of elven history and no one believed in her. not her keeper, her teacher and mother figure. nor her clan, the only family she's ever had. nor hawke's friends, the only people who were surrounding her for six years. the only person who can actually place their faith in her is hawke but if they don't she won't mind. she is used to it, being on her own. and, despite everything, she believes in people. she knows it matters. better than anyone.

she has never heard a nice word from fenris, but she still tries to cheer him up from time to time. she has never heard a nice word from anders either and she still feels for him. varric annoys her when he tries to distract her from the eluvian, but she appreciates it because she knows he means well. aveline refers to her work as senseless and potentially dangerous for the city, but she is still happy for her when she falls in love.

if hawke sides with mages in the last straw merrill is the first to support them. "I believe in you, hawke", she says, when everyone else is consumed by doubt. and then she's the only one who openly suggests sparing anders. so he can put things right.

she knows the feeling. when you're on your own and everyone thinks you're beyond salvation, undeserving of compassion or understanding. and this is the best she can offer for people she cares about: her unconditional faith, her sympathy, a second chance. the things she was desparately looking for and never had. she believes in people because she knows: there's no one else to believe in them

It’s not a pilgrimage, not really. 

It’s a matter of remembrance, Roshanna thinks to herself as she looks down at the grave. The two years engraved on the stone are too close together, and her shoulders slump as her head hangs.

It wasn’t fair that she was the only one to make it out of that stupid car. Not for anyone.

“Are you alright?” She hears behind her and when she turns she finds herself facing kind teal eyes.

“What?” Roshanna says, startled as she straightens up and continues. “Oh, yes. I’m fine.”

“Ok,” the girl says, though she doesn’t move.

Roshanna is unsure of what to do. “Are you looking for something?” She tries.

“No, sorry,” the girl says as she looks away, embarrassed. Roshanna could leave the conversation there and that would be that but something compels her.

“Are you visiting someone?”

The girl’s gaze gains a sad tint as she looks to the side in the distance. “Not really. I’m here to, well, mourn, I guess. It’s complicated.”

Roshanna frowns. “How?”

The girl hesitates for a second before sighing. “The person I’m mourning, they don’t have a grave. Barely anyone knows he died, really.”

The dark-haired girl feels her face twist at that. That seems like a terribly sad thing, that so few people care about the girl’s person. 

“I’m sorry,” she says.

The girl gives her a slight smile, awkward and sad.

“What was his name?” Roshanna asks. 

There the girl’s smile morphs into something fond but bittersweet. “Danny.”

Roshanna repeats it to herself in her mind. Danny. 

“May you rest well, Danny,” she says. Roshanna plucks the wildflower she had put in her coat pocket to press down, and gives it to the girl. “You are remembered.”

The girl’s eyes are wide, and she takes the flower almost mechanically. Her eyes then close back and even though Roshanna is no Virtue, she can practically sense the waves of gratitude coming from the girl.

“Thank you,” she says in the most earnest voice Roshanna has heard. “Thank you.”

Roshanna can do nothing but nod in return.

anyway i get it and some of the failguy jokes are funny. i can tell that nothing i've run into is even malicious. but also it would be really cool and awesome if there were simply less posts calling a disabled person a failure or baby or a dog or whatever for needing accommodation or extra help, especially when like. hey did you know the source material very on purpose did not do anything remotely like that. critical thinking question: could there be some reasons these phrases are not great, potentially
