What’s New in Apple’s Affordable iPhone SE 4
It's been a while since Apple updated its budget iPhone SE, and the last model closely resembled its predecessor and the iPhone 8, which debuted back in 2017. This time, the iPhone SE 4, expected to launch in early 2025, is anticipated to feature a significant design overhaul, looking similar to the iPhone 14 series, if not identical.

Beyond aesthetics, the iPhone SE 4 is rumored to receive substantial hardware upgrades, including a new chip, enhanced cameras, a USB-C port, a larger display, and more. Despite these enhancements, it is expected to be only slightly more expensive than its predecessor, while still remaining much more affordable than the mainstream iPhone models.
When will it launch, and how much will it cost?
According to a report from The Information, the iPhone SE 4 will launch in the Spring of 2025, and a ‘leakster’ on X (Revegnus) predicts that the iPhone SE 4 might get a price hike of around 10 per cent, indicating it would still cost less than Rs 50,000 at launch, which is similar to that of a previous-generation iPhone.

iPhone SE 4 is rumored to look radically different from its predecessor, yet familiar to iPhone enthusiasts. According to leaks, the iPhone SE 4 could closely resemble the iPhone 14 but with a single rear camera. It will feature a metal unibody design with flat side frames, and a large 6.1-inch screen, significantly larger than the 4.7-inch screen on the iPhone SE 3. This also means the iPhone SE 4 will be the first in the SE series without a home button, likely incorporating a Face ID biometric system.
In addition to the design overhaul, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to include a USB-C port for charging and may gain an action button. The device is anticipated to have an IP67/68 rating for water and dust resistance, and it might feature a repair-friendly build, allowing for easy replacement of the back panel or display.

iPhone 15 First Look: Why Apple’s New USB-C Port Is a Huge Deal | WSJ
The introduction of a USB-C connector is one of the iPhone 15’s distinguishing characteristics, and has generated a lot of excitement since its recent debut. Tech fans are in awe of Apple’s innovative move, and for good reason. Apple has long been recognized for its own Lightning connector, which has long been the main method of charging and data transfer on iPhones. But the iPhone 15 marks a…

Thinking about the wholesome intimacy of fixing computers!! Again!!
Story under the cut
I have this Dell Inspiron desktop at home that was given to me after my grandfather passed away. Being the only other "techie" in the family meant my grandmother offered his old computer towers to me to be used or recycled.
Unfortunately, this Inspiron was the only thing that could be of use out of the four towers I received. It felt wrong disposing of the others, but I can at least live knowing they were recycled responsibly.
But the Inspiron was beautiful by my standards. I have never owned a good desktop before, and she was what I needed. And I thank my grandfather for his expertise every time I turn it on.
She has an AMD Ryzen 7 1700x, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1060. Not miraculous by techbro standards, but miraculous to me. When I received her, she was broken—she wouldn't turn on. A couple hours of troubleshooting later showed me that she had a bad power supply. I ordered a new one and replaced it. I feel like I was thanked the first time I booted her. She was brought back to life.
So I wiped the drives and did (several) clean OS installs until I found a way to install Windows 11. And now the Inspiron that I brought gently back to health is my daily use PC. There's something wonderful about bringing new life to something someone once loved, or at least used. I'm sure she enjoys what she does for me despite her hiccups every now and then.
I love this computer in a strange way. And I feel like my grandfather is happy that I could make use of it. I do my best to take care of it, and it was my little passion project (ongoing hehe).

You know, you’d think that my earbuds would actually charge when I put them in their charging case, but evidently not. Swear to god, these fucking things pick and choose when to charge
And the case isn’t dead or anything. The case it at like 80%. But neither of my earbuds are fucking charging. Haven’t even had it for a year, and it’s already being a pain in the ass.
#dude I use these for work#you mean to tell me I have to rawdog my 7hr shift with no music?#id literally rather eat my hands#like I bought these bc last time I had to go through my shift without music or anything#I ended up getting overwhelmed with the sheer amount of excess noise around me#(the boards dinging; the fryer timer going off; the oven)#and music helps offset that a bit because it gives my brain something to focus on other than ‘oh fuck another order’#but it does me no fucking good if neither of my earbuds decide to fucking charge ever#and I would have wired earbuds like I prefer#but I have one of the newer iPhones and I haven’t found any wired earbuds that have a USB-C port#that aren’t the weird shaped bullshit Apple ones that hurt my ears

in today’s episode of my cursed reading of the final chapters of spice by eimeo:
i’m at my parents’ for the holiday and my kindle where i’m reading it is dying so i went to ask my dad for his charger bc i left mine home (thought i had enough battery for the trip). Which was how he found out he’s lost his kindle charger
on better spice-related news i went to a karaoke today with friends we sang i want it that way and. it hit.
#specifically for kirks feelings in the period after the 5 year mission#my dad spent longer trying to stick a micro usb into a usb c port than spock spent trying to figure out how to stick his spicy d into kirk#unfortunately unlike spock he could not make it work#can’t recommend this fic enough#spirk

How did kidlet break their chromebook?
Kidlet plugged a usb-c charger meant for the phone into the charging usb-port. It quickly overheated and by the time we noticed the electric frying smell, the entire 1/4 corner of the chromebook was too hot to touch. It's basically totaled.
#thankfully we realised it before it exploded or caught on fire#computer borking#this is such a simple mistake that i should have seen it coming#when i got kidlet a phone with a usb-c charging port for xmas orz
