If you look at NWSL analytica, the US actually outplayed Sweden. They just didn’t finish their chances. It’s on the refs to make the right calls. No VAR will always make things difficult

The stats may say one thing but watching the game you saw another. No point dominating in possession, passing etc etc if then you don't actually capitalise on your chances and it's instead the opposition who do and display the better performance when you're on the ball/defend better so that you don't score when they're not. Obviously you can't blame rapinoe or any player for calling the penalty and it's up to the refs to do better (I mean even with VAR it can be subjective *ahem* Rose *ahem*) but that doesn't discount the fact that it wasn't deserved imo.

Those stats don't justify the penalty and so don't justify the final scoreline.
