Top 9 Popular Easter Traditions in The USA
Easter is a joyous celebration observed by millions of people in the United States, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Alongside its religious significance, Easter in the USA is also characterized by various traditions that bring families and communities together. Easter traditions in the USA are cherished by people of all ages and backgrounds. From colourful egg hunts to festive parades, these traditions reflect the spirit of renewal and hope associated with the holiday. One of the most beloved Easter traditions in the USA is the Easter egg hunt, where children search for hidden eggs filled with candies and treats. These hunts often take place in parks, gardens, and backyards, bringing excitement and joy to young participants. Another popular tradition is dyeing Easter eggs, where families gather to decorate eggs in vibrant colours and patterns. This creative activity allows people to express their artistic talents and add a festive touch to their Easter celebrations. Easter parades are also a cherished tradition in many communities across the USA, featuring elaborate floats, colourful costumes, and live music. These parades showcase the diversity and spirit of the local community while also providing entertainment for spectators. Overall, Easter traditions in the USA are a time-honoured way to celebrate the holiday and create lasting memories with loved ones. Whether it's participating in egg hunts, dyeing eggs, or attending parades, these traditions bring joy and unity to Easter festivities across the country.
Here are some popular Easter traditions in the USA.
1. A church visit: Because Easter has its roots in religion, going to church is one of the oldest religious Easter customs in the United States. Families attend church, generally in white, to pay their respects and commemorate their Christian origins. Americans also attend church on Good Friday, the day of Jesus' crucifixion, to memorialize his sacrifice for humanity. Because Easter is a family holiday, attending church is a great opportunity to spend time with your loved ones.
2.Easter Bunny: Naturally, there is no Easter without the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny mythology dates back to the Bible. So, if you believe the Easter rabbit is simply a nice, fluffy, made-up rabbit, you are mistaken. However, it has evolved into a joyful custom for children. According to mythology, every Easter, a gorgeous, charming rabbit with a fluffy tail and large ears comes to provide Easter baskets packed with chocolates, toys, and colourful eggs. On Easter, children walk out first thing in the morning to uncover Easter baskets full of tasty goodies and toys.
3.Egg-rolling contest: Another centuries-old Easter ritual in the United States is the egg roll competition. After the youngsters uncover their baskets and beautiful Easter Bunny eggs, they compete to roll painted, hard-boiled eggs down an incline, such as a neighbouring hill. The one who gets the egg down first and in one-piece wins. Despite its centuries-old origins, this ritual remains popular among Americans and enjoyable to participate in. You may take it a step further by encouraging adults to participate as well, with a big reward for the winner. Make it enjoyable and entertaining.
4.Egg Painting: It all boils down to eggs! If you didn't already know, the Easter Bunny is just as genuine as Santa Claus, and your parents are the ones who hide the eggs and tasty sweets for you. Egg painting is another common Easter ritual in the United States. You may have a little gathering with your family, sit down, get your egg colouring kits out, and have fun painting eggs. You can express your inner artist with any type of paint, actually. It might be acrylics, spray paint, watercolours, or even food dyes. Simply make sure you appreciate what you do.
5.Easter baskets: Easter baskets are also a long-standing custom. It started when youngsters made little nests out of fallen leaves and branches for the Easter Bunny to put presents in. This evolved into owning and making Easter baskets as presents and gifts. It's enjoyable and gives you the feeling of being with your family.
6.Lent: If you like the large, joyous feasts of Easter, you might be glad for the Lent custom. Traditionally, people would fast for 40 days before feasting on Easter Eve! In current times, it has grown into people abstaining from an indulgence, such as food, coffee, streaming, the internet, or something else. So, when Easter Eve approaches, folks go crazy with their feasts, indulging in all of the delights they've been missing out on.
7.Easter outfit: It began with wearing a new clothing accessory, such as a tie or a bonnet, to church in your finest, but the practice has now expanded to include an entirely new costume for the occasion. People commemorating the custom with new attire and accessories lead shops to believe that introducing an Easter holiday sale would be a smart idea. Need a tip for a stylish Easter outfit? Try playing around with pastels. Easter and pastel outfits are an unbeatable match.
8.Feast: This is one custom that should never be overlooked. Easter, like many other holidays, is celebrated with a lavish feast that includes good-luck ham or lamb chops, boiled eggs, Easter biscuits, hot cross buns, potatoes, carrots, and other vegetables, among other things. Everything, from hot, meaty ham to painted, hard-boiled eggs, is delectable. Finally, Easter cake feels like the cherry on top. There are no exceptions to the Easter cake ritual. You may also add carrots to make it more Easter-themed.
9.Gifts and presents: Nothing says "Easter" like eggs and presents. However, these presents should not be limited to children. Even adults will enjoy receiving an Easter gift basket loaded with delectable candies and chocolates. However, a better option to create an Easter present for your loved one is to either do a DIY for them or to visit Easter sales in the United States to get some treats. Looking for a unique and intriguing idea? You might try out several hair care products to show that you care for their wonderful tresses. It might be as basic as a shampoo and conditioner or as complex as a taming treatment. It doesn't matter what you offer your loved one.
Conclusion
The popular Easter traditions in the USA are cherished by people of all ages and backgrounds, fostering a sense of community and joy during the holiday season. From colourful egg hunts to festive parades, these traditions reflect the spirit of renewal and togetherness associated with Easter. For those planning to experience Easter traditions in the USA, obtaining a US visa or a US visa from India is essential for a smooth and hassle-free travel experience. With proper documentation in hand, travelers can immerse themselves in the vibrant celebrations and create cherished memories with loved ones. Easter traditions in the USA, such as egg hunts and parades, provide opportunities for families and communities to come together, celebrate, and enjoy each other's company. Whether it's dyeing eggs with loved ones or watching a festive parade, these traditions bring joy and excitement to Easter festivities across the country. Overall, Easter in the USA is a time of joy, celebration, and reflection, as people gather to honour traditions, create memories, and embrace the spirit of the holiday. With its rich cultural heritage and diverse communities, the USA offers a vibrant and welcoming environment for celebrating Easter with loved ones.

Good Food, Good Family
Food critic for the Lamplighter Monthly Julia Veronica Butler enjoyed her job, which provided free food and lots of variety. The downside was that she could not pick the next restaurant she would go to; her editor picked the site of the week.
This week, he sent her to an Indian-themed eatery called The Susvaagatam.
Julia hated Indian food, and some of her most scathing reviews were aimed at other Indian restaurants. She had even been a major factor in one of them failing.
“I don’t want to!” she protested to her editor, who, more often than not, listened to her after a restaurant had been chosen. Not this time, however. The Editor told her, “It’s there, or I’ll use another critic for the next month! So, go and be nice.”
What Julia could not know that the Editor had been paid well to ensure that Ms. Butler ate at The Susvaagatam, the owner of which had been the owner of the restaurant she had helped to close. He had a surprise for Julia Veronica Butler.
So Julia first had the Baida roti, a fried minced chicken stuffed in something like the Indian version of an egg roll, and it was surprisingly good. “Perhaps there is hope,” she thought.
Then came the main dish, a rice preparation with spices, herbs, vegetables, and bits she could not identify, called bhaarat kee betee.
The scent of the curry from it was powerful, but not as powerful as another aroma coming from that smelt of strange flowers.
“It’s your job, Julia,” she thought. “Dig in!”
The taste was unlike anything she had ever eaten before, and at least it was not as hot as she thought it would be.
Halfway through, though, the heat showed up and was overpowering. Julia shuddered, feeling as if her insides were a white hot metal that was going to melt her from the inside out. But of course, the dish, which translated loosely as Daughter of India, did not do that.
Instead, a quake of reality transformed her in an instant into a short Indian woman (seven full inches shorter, she found later) from the Goa region.
Instead of a bill, the owner of The Welcome Home Restaurant presented her with already prepared paperwork identifying her as his daughter Jamuna Vamdama Bhandari. It turned out she was over on a limited visa for a family visit and would be returning to India for the very first time at the start of next week.
Jamuna thought about protesting, but she saw that no one would recognize her—she didn’t recognize herself! Anyway, the bizarre dish had also, along with changing her physically, had somehow given her a full understanding of Konkani, the main language spoken in Goa. She still spoke English but with the thickest accent ever.
Within a month, Jamuna Vamdama Bhandari settled into her new home in the coastal town of Mormugao.
Ironically she was able to find a job as a food critic for The Hindu Times, as such she would be eating in a lot of Indian, or rather just local restaurants. Fortunately, along with her other changes, she now had a taste for it, it was Western food she could not stand now.

More than 250 people from 20 nationalities who had been working in telecom fraud centres in Myanmar's Karen State have been released by an ethnic armed group and brought to Thailand.
The workers, more than half of whom were from African or Asian nations, were received by the Thai army, and are being assessed to find out if they were victims of human trafficking.
Last week Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra met Chinese leader Xi Jinping and promised to shut down the scam centres which have proliferated along the Thai-Myanmar border.
Her government has stopped access to power and fuel from the Thai side of the border, and toughened up banking and visa rules to try to prevent scam operators from using Thailand as a transit country for moving workers and cash.
Some opposition MPs in Thailand have been pushing for this kind of action for the past two years.
Foreign workers are typically lured to these scam centres by offers of good salaries, or in some cases tricked into thinking they will be doing different work in Thailand, not Myanmar.
The scammers look for workers with skills in the languages of those who are targeted for cyber-fraud, usually English and Chinese.
They are pressed into conducting online criminal activity, ranging from love scams known as "pig butchering" and crypto fraud, to money laundering and illegal gambling.
Some are willing to do the work, but others are forced to stay, with release only possible if their families pay large ransoms. Some of those who have escaped have described being tortured.
The released foreign workers were handed over by the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army, DKBA, one of several armed factions which control territory inside Karen State.
These armed groups have been accused of allowing the scam compounds to operate under their protection, and of tolerating the widespread abuse of trafficking victims who are forced to work in the compounds.
The Myanmar government has been unable to extend its control over much of Karen State since independence in 1948.
On Tuesday, Thailand's Department of Special Investigation, which is similar to the US FBI, requested arrest warrants for three commanders of another armed group known as the Karen National Army.
The warrants included Saw Chit Thu, the Karen warlord who struck a deal in 2017 with a Chinese company to build Shwe Kokko, a new city believed to be largely funded by scams.
The BBC visited Shwe Kokko at the invitation of Yatai, the company which built the city.
Yatai says there are no more scams in Shwe Kokko. It has put up huge billboards all over town proclaiming, in Chinese, Burmese and English, that forced labour is not allowed, and that "online businesses" should leave.
But we were told by local people that the scam business was still running, and interviewed a worker who had been employed in one.
Like the DKBA, Saw Chit Thu broke away from the main Karen insurgent group, the KNU, in 1994, and allied himself to the Myanmar military.
Under pressure from Thailand and China, both Saw Chit Thu and the DKBA have said they are expelling the scam businesses from their territories.
The DKBA commander contacted a Thai member of parliament on Tuesday to arrange the handover of the 260 workers.
They included 221 men and 39 women, from Ethiopia, Kenya, the Philippines, Malaysia, Pakistan, China, Indonesia, Taiwan, Nepal, Uganda, Laos, Burundi, Brazil, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Tanzania, Sir Lanka, India, Ghana and Cambodia.

Why You Should Start Your Own Travel Agency and Travel Portal

Starting your own travel agency and travel portal in India presents a unique set of opportunities and advantages, given the country's vast and diverse tourism landscape. Here's why having the travel agency and travel portal is a great idea to embark on this entrepreneurial journey in India:
START YOUR OWN TRAVEL AGENCY & TRAVEL PORTAL.
1. Growing Tourism Industry in India
India's tourism industry is booming, with both domestic and international tourism on the rise. The country offers a rich tapestry of experiences, from heritage sites, cultural festivals, and wildlife safaris to spiritual journeys, adventure tourism, and wellness retreats. The Indian government has also been proactive in promoting tourism through initiatives like the Incredible India campaign and the development of infrastructure, making it an opportune time to start a travel business.
2. Diverse Market Segments
India's diverse geography and culture create a wide range of market segments to tap into. Whether its luxury travel, budget tourism, eco-tourism, medical tourism, or adventure sports, you can specialize in a niche that aligns with your passion and expertise. For instance, spiritual tourism, which includes visits to holy cities like Varanasi, Rishikesh, and Amritsar, is a particularly lucrative segment in India.
3. Growing Middle Class and Disposable Income
India's middle class is expanding rapidly, with increasing disposable income and a growing appetite for travel. More Indians are now willing to spend on vacations, both within the country and abroad. This rising demand for travel services opens up a significant market for travel entrepreneurs who can offer tailored experiences that cater to different budgets and preferences.
4. Technology and Digital Adoption
India has witnessed a surge in digital adoption, with more people using smartphones and the internet for various services, including travel bookings. The proliferation of online payment systems, travel apps, and e-commerce platforms has made it easier for businesses to reach customers. By creating a well-designed travel portal, you can tap into this digitally savvy audience, offering convenience and personalized services.
5. Opportunities in Domestic Tourism
The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted travel preferences, with a growing emphasis on domestic tourism. Indians are increasingly exploring their own country, discovering hidden gems in offbeat destinations. This trend offers a great opportunity to cater to domestic tourists, offering curated experiences, staycations, and weekend getaways that highlight India's lesser-known attractions.
6. Supportive Government Policies
The Indian government has been supportive of the tourism sector, offering various incentives and policies to encourage entrepreneurs. The introduction of e-Visas, the Swadesh Darshan Scheme for theme-based tourist circuits, and the development of tourism infrastructure are just a few examples of government initiatives aimed at boosting the industry. These policies can help you in establishing and growing your travel business.
7. Cultural and Heritage Tourism
India's rich cultural heritage is a major draw for tourists from around the world. The country is home to 40 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, and the Ajanta and Ellora Caves. Starting a travel business that focuses on cultural and heritage tourism allows you to tap into a global market of travelers interested in history, architecture, and traditional arts.
8. Potential for Innovation and Differentiation
The Indian travel market is vast, but there is still room for innovation. You can differentiate your travel business by offering unique experiences, such as rural tourism, culinary tours, or wellness retreats that cater to niche audiences. By leveraging local knowledge and connections, you can create authentic experiences that stand out in a crowded market.
9. Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
India's entrepreneurial ecosystem is thriving, with numerous resources available to support startups. From incubators and accelerators to funding opportunities and mentorship programs, there are various avenues to help you launch and scale your travel business. The availability of skilled professionals in fields like technology, marketing, and customer service also makes it easier to build a strong team.
10. Personal Fulfillment and Contribution to Society
Starting a travel business in India can be personally fulfilling, especially if you have a passion for travel and exploration. Beyond personal satisfaction, you can also make a positive impact by promoting sustainable tourism practices, supporting local communities, and preserving India's natural and cultural heritage. Your business can contribute to the socio-economic development of regions that rely on tourism as a major source of income.
Conclusion
India's dynamic and diverse tourism landscape, coupled with a growing middle class, digital adoption, and supportive government policies, makes it an ideal market to start a travel business and portal. By offering unique and tailored experiences, you can tap into the vast potential of the Indian travel market and build a successful and fulfilling business that caters to the evolving needs of travelers.

Narendra Modi Story

Narendra Modi (born September 17, 1950, Vadnagar, India) Indian politician and government official who rose to become a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In 2014 he led his party to victory in elections to the Lok Sabha (lower chamber of the Indian parliament), after which he was sworn in as prime minister of India. Prior to that he had served (2001–14) as chief minister (head of government) of Gujarat state in western India.
After a vigorous campaign—in which Modi portrayed himself as a pragmatic candidate who could turn around India’s underperforming economy—he and the party were victorious, with the BJP winning a clear majority of seats in the chamber. Modi was sworn in as prime minister on May 26, 2014. Soon after he took office, his government embarked on several reforms, including campaigns to improve India’s transportation infrastructure and to liberalize rules on direct foreign investment in the country. Modi scored two significant diplomatic achievements early in his term. In mid-September he hosted a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping, the first time a Chinese leader had been to India in eight years. At the end of that month, having been granted a U.S. visa, Modi made a highly successful visit to New York City, which included a meeting with U.S. Pres. Barack Obama.
As prime minister, Modi oversaw a promotion of Hindu culture and the implementation of economic reforms. The government undertook measures that would broadly appeal to Hindus, such as its attempt to ban the sale of cows for slaughter. The economic reforms were sweeping, introducing structural changes—and temporary disruptions—that could be felt nationwide. Among the most far-reaching was the demonetization and replacement of 500- and 1,000-rupee banknotes with only a few hours’ notice. The purpose was to stop “black money”—cash used for illicit activities—by making it difficult to exchange large sums of cash. The following year the government centralized the consumption tax system by introducing the Goods and Services Tax (GST), which superseded a confusing system of local consumption taxes and eliminated the problem of cascading tax. GDP growth slowed from these changes, though growth had already been high (8.2 percent in 2015), and the reforms succeeded in expanding the government’s tax base. Still, rising costs of living and increasing unemployment disappointed many as grandiose promises of economic growth remained unfulfilled.
This disappointment registered with voters during the elections in five states in late 2018. The BJP lost in all five states, including the BJP strongholds of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. The rival Indian National Congress (Congress Party) won more state assembly seats than the BJP in all five elections. Many observers believed that this portended bad news for Modi and the BJP in the national elections set for the spring of 2019, but others believed that Modi’s charisma would excite the voters. Moreover, a security crisis in Jammu and Kashmir in February 2019, which escalated tensions with Pakistan to the highest point in decades, boosted Modi’s image just months before the election. With the BJP dominating the airwaves during the campaign—in contrast to the lacklustre campaign of Rahul Gandhi and Congress—the BJP was returned to power, and Modi became India’s first prime minister outside of the Congress Party to be reelected after a full term.
In his second term Modi’s government revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, stripping it of autonomy in October 2019 and bringing it under the direct control of the union government. The move came under intense criticism and faced challenges in court, not only for the questionable legality of depriving Jammu and Kashmir’s residents of self-determination but also because the government severely restricted communications and movement within the region.
In March 2020, meanwhile, Modi took decisive action to combat the outbreak of COVID-19 in India, swiftly implementing strict nationwide restrictions to mitigate the spread while the country’s biotechnology firms became key players in the race to develop and deliver vaccines worldwide. As part of the effort to counter the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Modi undertook executive action in June to liberalize the agricultural sector, a move that was codified into law in September. Many feared that the reforms would make farmers vulnerable to exploitation, however, and protesters took to the streets in opposition to the new laws. Beginning in November, massive protests were organized and became a regular disruption, particularly in Delhi.
Modi’s policies backfired in 2021. Protests escalated (culminating in the storming of the Red Fort in January), and extraordinary restrictions and crackdowns by the government failed to suppress them. Meanwhile, despite the remarkably low spread of COVID-19 in January and February, by late April a rapid surge of cases caused by the new Delta variant had overwhelmed the country’s health care system. Modi, who had held massive political rallies ahead of state elections in March and April, was criticized for neglecting the surge. The BJP ultimately lost the election in a key battleground state despite heavy campaigning. In November, as protests continued and another set of state elections approached, Modi announced that the government would repeal the agricultural reforms.

Business Visa is not meant for collecting Funds
Randa Chehab v. Union of India & Others
WP © 1250/2023
Before Delhi High Court
The Writ was dismissed on 18.12.2023 by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Subramonium Prasad J as petitioner failed to establish violation of her right.
The petitioner a US citizen has challenged her deportation (before Delhi High Court) by the Bureau of Immigration from Trivandrum, Kerala Airport on 28.11.2022 as being arbitrary, unreasonable, illegal and unconstitutional.
Notice was issued to the Union of India on 01.02.2023.
Status Report was filed by the Counsel of Union of India.
The Status Report discloses that the Petitioner was issued the following visas by the Consulate General of India, San Francisco, i.e., T-1 Visa No. VK 0275900 valid from 31.03.2017 to 30.03.2027; and B-1 Visa No. VK 3934693 valid from 20.06.2019 to 19.06.2024.
The Petitioner again applied for a tourist visa on 15.12.2022 which was rejected as her name was found in the adverse/banned list entry of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Status Report revealed that the name of the Petitioner has been blacklisted at the behest of Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Trivandrum as she was involved in public fund collection while visiting on a business visa which is not permitted.
It is stated that as of today there is an adverse entry report against the Petitioner.
General policy guideline to Indian Visa
When a person is granted a business visa, the purpose is to attend business meetings and technical meetings and funds cannot be collected for the said purpose.
Submission of the Counsel of the petitioner
The Petitioner has been involved in charitable activities and is collecting public funds for the purpose of a charity, and this cannot be said to be unlawful.
The Petitioner has rendered yeomen's services when cyclone Amphan in 2020 struck in eastern India and she has since been closely associated with various charitable activities.
In this backdrop, it is not wrong to collect funds.
Petitioner holds a valid tourist visa and as a tourist visa holder, she can be permitted to come to India.
Petitioner has come to India numerous times and the reason for blacklisting is completely arbitrary.
Submission of the Counsel of the State
Section 3 of the Foreigners Act gives the power to the Central Government to make provisions either generally or for all foreigners prohibiting, regulating or restricting the entry of foreigners into India or their departure from India.
Issue
Whether the violation of the conditions of the business visa can be a sufficient reason for deportation and blacklisting of the Petitioner?
Law
Collecting money ostensibly for charitable activity is not permitted when a foreigner comes to India on a business visa.
Since the Petitioner has admittedly acted contrary to what is permitted, the decision taken by the authorities to blacklist the Petitioner cannot be said to arbitrary and as such requiring any interference under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.
Observation of the Court
It is well settled that a Writ Court can exercise its jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India only where there is a violation of a right.
In the absence of any right, a writ cannot be issued.
Since the Petitioner has not been able to establish violation of any rights granted to the Petitioner, this Court is not inclined to exercise its jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to interfere with the decision taken by the authorities.
Order
Writ Petition is dismissed.
Seema Bhatnagar

BEIJING (AP) — China and Syria announced the formation of a strategic partnership on Friday as Chinese leader Xi Jinping kicked off a series of diplomatic meetings ahead of the upcoming Asian Games.
Xi met Syrian President Bashar Assad in the southern Chinese city of Hangzhou, which is hosting the 15-day sports competition.
“In the face of the unstable and uncertain international situation, China is willing to work with Syria to firmly support each other ... and jointly safeguard international fairness and justice,” Xi said in a video clip posted online by state broadcaster CCTV.
Assad’s visit parallels in some ways that of Russian President Vladimir Putin last year for the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics. Both leaders are virtual pariahs in the West but welcomed by China as it tries to expand its global influence and promote an alternative to the U.S.-led international order.
The Syrian leader will attend the Asian Games opening ceremony on Saturday night along with the king of Cambodia, the crown prince of Kuwait and the prime ministers of Nepal, East Timor and South Korea, China’s Foreign Ministry has said.
Xi also met Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah on Friday and said he would work with him to take bilateral relations to a new level, CCTV reported.
Both meetings took place at a state guest house at West Lake, a scenic tourist destination in Hangzhou that has inspired Chinese painters for centuries.
Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni arrived Friday at the airport in Hangzhou. CCTV video posted online showed him walking down the stairs from his plane to the tarmac for a red carpet welcome that included the Asian Games mascots.
Assad, who is making a rare trip abroad, is looking for ways to emerge from the international isolation brought on by a brutal war at home that shows no sign of ending after 12 years. He was expected to discuss economic assistance from China, which could play a major role in Syria’s future reconstruction.
Syrian state TV quoted Assad as thanking Xi and his government for standing on the side of the Syrian people “during the crisis and suffering.” China has backed Assad, using its veto on the U.N. Security Council eight times to block resolutions against his government.
Xi told Assad that China supports Syria in opposing external interference and unilateral bullying and promoting a political solution that is led and owned by Syrians, China’s CCTV said.
Assad expressed hope that the meeting would be the basis for “wide-ranging and long-term strategic cooperation in all fields” between China and Syria.
The Asian Games, which have more participants than the Olympics, also sparked a diplomatic row between India and China. Three Indian athletes from Arunachal Pradesh, which China claims as its territory, refused to accept their visas and stayed home after they were given visas stapled to their passports — different from those given to the rest of the team.
The Asian Games were scheduled for last year but postponed because of China’s then-strict pandemic restrictions. China eased its restrictions in December of last year.

ASSIS BRASIL, Brazil (AP) — Dozens of migrants sleep in a mosquito-infested six-bedroom wooden shelter in the Brazilian Amazon, their dreams of a better life in the U.S. on hold because of President Joe Biden’shalt on asylum.
Johany “Flaca” Rodríguez, 48, was ready to leave behind the struggles of life in Venezuela. She has been waiting in the shelter holding 45 people in Assis Brasil, a city of 7,000 residents bordering Peru, because others told her how difficult the journey to the U.S. has become.
Migrants, police, officials and analysts say Biden’s actions have caused a wait-and-see attitude among migrants who are staying in Latin America’s biggest economy, at least for now. Like anywhere along migrants’ routes toward hoped-for new lives, local communities are finding it hard to meet new populations’ needs.
After sleeping on dirty mattresses and in half-torn hammocks, and eating rice, beans and ground beef, Rodríguez decided this month that she and her dog Kiko would spend a few weeks with friends in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul.
Wearing a headband, leggings and a small backpack, Rodríguez woke early to walk more than 100 kilometers (62 miles) for two days to a nearby city of 27,000 residents. There, she hopes to make some money and take a bus to Brazil’s south, then reach the U.S. one day.
“I have to stay here until it is safer to go,” Rodríguez said. “I am not super happy about staying (in Brazil), but that’s what I can do.”
Brazil saw waves of migrants passing through to North America in the first part of the year. There were Indians, Bengalis, Senegalese and Nigerians, among others, said Rêmullo Diniz, the coordinator of Gefron, Acre state’s police group for border operations,
When Biden said he was going to crack down, many people in those groups began staying in their countries instead of heading to Latin America, Brazilian government officials and independent analysts said. For citizens of South American countries, it’s easier. Brazil allows residents of its 10 neighboring nations to stay visa-free for up to two years.
The Biden administration said last week that arrests for illegal crossings from Mexico fell more than 40% since asylum processing was temporarily suspended at the U.S. border with Mexico on June 5. Arrests fell below 2,400 a day for the first time during Biden’s presidency.
Acre state offers a snapshot of the attitude among many migrants, and raises the possibility that Acre and other resting spots will become long-term hosts.
The city of Assis Brasil has little to offer to migrants but the wooden shelter where Rodríguez was staying and a school gymnasium where 15 men can sleep. There are two small hotels and a bus stop used by vans crossing into Peru. It has five restaurants scattered along its main road, two grocery shops and an ice cream parlor that has Amazon flavors like local fruits cupuacu and tapereba. Migrants frequently beg for money at the city’s only square.
There are three daily flights into state capital Rio Branco, where 21-year-old Jay came from India en route to the U.S. to study engineering. He declined to disclose his hometown and his last name.
Wearing a white cap reading “RIO DE JANEIRO,” he said that “it would take too long if I just sat and waited,” in India.
“It is a long trip, very risky. But it is my dream to study there and I will accomplish it,” he said.
Brazil’s westernmost state is a remote enclave in the middle of the rainforest, used by tourists as part of an alternative route to visit Cuzco, once the capital of the Inca empire in Peru.
One of Assis’ main attractions for locals is sitting on the benches of its main square Senador Guiomard to watch soccer on TV and eat barbecue. The small city’s founders came to the Amazon in 1908 to start a rubber plantation that 50 years later became a city. Not much has changed since, despite the BR-317 road that runs by it, the only land connection between Brazil and Peru. When residents of Assis Brasil are bored, and they often are, they go to neighboring Peruvian city of Iñapari to have a drink, generally a pisco sour.
Venezuelan migrant Alexander Guedes Martinez, 27, said he will stay as long as needed to get more cash and maybe in a year go to Houston, where he has family. He came with his 17-year-old partner and their 5-month-old baby.
At the Assis Brasil shelter where they were staying last month, he said that he hopes “to go (back) to Venezuela and get key documents to try to cross in a better fashion.”
“I want to be cautious because of my daughter,” he said. “Being here helps.”
Acre state’s patrol has about 40 agents to inspect 2,600 kilometers (1,615 miles) of border with Peru and Bolivia. A main road connects the three countries, but local police say that many migrants also move through the forest, some of them carrying drugs.
Cuban migrant Miguel Hidalgo, 52, tried to get to the U.S. years ago. He left the island to Suriname, then came to Brazil and doesn’t plan on leaving any time soon.
“I like Brazil. I have been here for a short time, but people are not prejudiced against me, people are lovely,” he said. “I want to live like a human being. I am not asking for any riches. I want to live in tranquility, help my family in Cuba.”
Acre Gov. Gladson Camelli said in a statement to the AP that he is worried about a bigger influx of South American migrants coming soon.
“Our government has tried to do its part in the humanitarian support,” he said.
Assis Brasil’s Mayor Jerry Correia also is bracing for more demand. City hall is feeding about 60 migrants every day and voters are feeling upset in a year of mayoral elections.
“This is all on our back. This is a policy that has to be handled by the federal government,” Correia said. “People don’t know what happens on our border. We need to be seen.”

Work Permit Visa: Everything You Need to Know to Work Abroad

What is a Work Permit?
A work permit is a legal authorization that allows individuals to take up employment in a foreign country. It is often confused with a work visa, but the two serve different purposes. While a work visa permits entry into a country for employment, a work permit specifically authorizes you to work there. Understanding the work permit meaning is crucial to avoid legal complications while working overseas.
Types of Work Permits
There are various types of work permits available, depending on the country and the nature of your employment. Some common categories include:
Temporary Work Permits
Skilled Worker Permits
Seasonal Work Permits
Intra-Company Transfer Permits
Each type has its own eligibility criteria and application process. Consulting a work abroad consultancy can help you identify the right permit for your needs.
How to Check Your Work Permit Status
Once you’ve applied for a work permit, tracking your work permit status is crucial. Most countries provide online portals where you can check the progress of your application. Delays or errors in your application can be resolved promptly if you monitor your status regularly.
Work Visa vs. Work Permit
While the terms work visa and work permit are often used interchangeably, they are not the same. A work visa allows you to enter a country for employment, whereas a work permit authorizes you to work legally. In some cases, you may need both to work abroad.
How to Work Abroad: A Step-by-Step Guide
Research Opportunities: Look for working abroad opportunities that match your skills and qualifications.
Choose the Right Permit: Identify the types of work permits available in your target country.
Apply for a Work Visa: Secure a work visa abroad to legally enter the country.
Consult Experts: Seek guidance from an abroad work visa consultant to streamline the process.
Monitor Your Status: Keep track of your work permit status to ensure a smooth transition.
Why Choose a Work Abroad Consultancy?
Navigating the complexities of work permit visas and abroad working visas can be overwhelming. A reputable work abroad consultancy like Y-Axis can provide expert guidance, ensuring that your application is error-free and processed efficiently. Whether you’re looking to work abroad from India or any other country, professional assistance can make all the difference.
Conclusion
Securing a work permit is the first step toward realizing your dream of working abroad opportunities. By understanding the work permit meaning, exploring the types of work permits, and monitoring your work permit status, you can ensure a hassle-free experience. For personalized assistance, visit Y-Axis and take the first step toward your international career today!
