The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) have joined forces to illuminate the transformative potential of rural tourism. Through a collaborative study, they shed light on the significant impact tourism can have on fostering socio-economic development in rural areas across Europe. This timely initiative underscores the critical role of collaboration in bridging local and global efforts toward shared goals. By harnessing the power of rural tourism, communities can build resilience, address pressing challenges, and empower themselves on the path towards sustainable development. UNWTO and EU Champion Sustainable A Unifying Force: Collaboration for Shared Objectives Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of UNWTO, emphasizes the far-reaching potential of tourism: "Tourism has the potential to transform societies, stimulate local economic development, and empower local communities." He further highlights the significance of the collaboration with the CoR, stating, "This joint study... underscores the importance of rural tourism in contributing to sustainable development in Europe." Alves Vasco Cordeiro, President of the CoR, echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the historical role of mobility in shaping European identity: "Free movement has always been at the heart of the European project. Tourism, as part of this mobility, has helped shape our European identity and is a powerful driver for growth and jobs, breathing new life into communities across Europe." This joint effort highlights the importance of fostering partnerships between international organizations and regional entities to create a unified approach to rural tourism development. Beyond Recovery: The Resilience of Rural Tourism The report delves into the key findings of the study, offering valuable insights into the current state and prospects of rural tourism in Europe. One of the most compelling findings is the remarkable resilience displayed by rural tourism in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite global challenges, rural destinations witnessed a surge in popularity, particularly among domestic travelers. This resilience highlights the inherent strength of rural tourism and its adaptability to changing circumstances, showcasing its potential as a robust driver for economic recovery and growth. Multifaceted Benefits: Economic Diversification and Cultural Preservation The study goes beyond economic considerations, acknowledging the multifaceted benefits of rural tourism. It underscores the role of tourism in promoting economic diversification and creating job opportunities in rural areas. This diversification can help lessen dependence on traditional industries and create a more vibrant and sustainable local economy. Furthermore, the report emphasizes the vital contribution of rural tourism to cultural preservation. It highlights tourism's role as a bridge between tradition and modernity. By attracting visitors and fostering community participation, rural tourism can help sustain local services and preserve the unique character of rural regions. However, the report also acknowledges the challenges faced by rural areas, such as limited infrastructure, scarcity of financial resources, and population decline. These challenges pose significant obstacles to rural tourism development. Towards Sustainable Development: Embracing Opportunities and Addressing Challenges The report doesn't shy away from acknowledging the challenges faced by rural communities but instead presents them as opportunities for growth. By providing a nuanced understanding of the complexities involved, the report sets the stage for the development of sustainable rural tourism practices. It urges stakeholders to navigate these challenges thoughtfully, with a focus on long-term sustainability. A Roadmap for the Future: Recommendations for Sustainable Rural Tourism Development Recognizing the need for a comprehensive approach, the report offers a roadmap for policymakers, local governments, and stakeholders to harness the power of rural tourism while addressing its challenges. Enhancing Collaboration and Building Integrated Value Chains: A key recommendation is the integration of rural value chains within the tourism sector. The report emphasizes the need for collaboration between businesses and stakeholders, such as farmers, artisans, and accommodation providers. By working together, they can create synergies within the local economy, maximizing economic benefits for the entire community. This collaborative approach ensures a holistic and sustainable development trajectory for rural tourism. Bridging the Digital Divide: Investing in Connectivity and Skills The report acknowledges the digital divide that often hinders rural development. It recommends a focused effort on improving digital connectivity in rural areas. This includes infrastructure development to ensure reliable internet access. Additionally, the report emphasizes the importance of digital skills development. By empowering rural communities with the skills to leverage technology effectively, they can improve their online presence, attract more visitors, and participate more fully in the digital tourism landscape. Aligning with Consumer Trends and Prioritizing Sustainability: The report acknowledges the increasing focus on sustainable travel practices among tourists. It encourages the development of responsible travel initiatives that cater to evolving consumer expectations. This includes promoting eco-friendly practices, protecting natural resources, and supporting local communities. By prioritizing sustainability, rural tourism can not only meet the changing demands of travelers but also contribute to broader environmental and social goals.

I've always thought that folklore & evermore were by FAR the best eras tour sets, because they had such lush, inviting production design and feel so magical compared to some of the others. it's sad to see them combined when I swore up and down last year that the point of the eras tour was to give each untoured album a special moment.
im not a fan with how she's going about it either, cutting the new stuff and not the stuff she's toured 10000 times before....

simpleton ─ chevalier m.
fandom : ikemen prince
charecter : the second prince ( chevalier michel )
prompt : y/n, a liked gardener for the palace, gets to know more about chevalier.
warning : this is an unfinished piece of work that i have been delaying because of mental health problems and due to stress from school. so apologies in regards.
Honestly menacing. That's the impression y/n always clung to when referring to the second prince. Chevalier, that man who grazed his eyes over her with a hint of displeasure was not a friendly sight. he would always scoff at her small mistakes and burden her with insults. it was needless, but the prince had found someone to throw his comments at. reminding y/n to feel like a verbally punctured punching bag.
it was shameless of him. even if they went out in the open public, full of prying eyes. he would always know how to degrade y/n. make her feel fallen like victim to his mentally bruising comments. y/n didn't enjoy being accompanied by Chevalier, but as royalty, he deemed y/n, the simpleton, wasn't well understanding of his tastes in books he read. foolish isn't it?
as one of the only people to have seen and picked up a few tales that lay on the dusty bookshelves in his private library. it just seemed like another attempt to make her feel bad about herself.
y/n would feel hurt by Chevalier's demands, but keep in mind furthermore, that this happens fairly often. not only does y/n have to digress the hatred he towards her, but she must also keep up her act. her act of not being the oh-so-scared prey others call her for. she has to keep up her stance to maintain learning more about the prince.
by this y/n sounds to be like a Belle. forced to choose the next king to take over the kingdom of Rhododile, but no. y/n was a young girl that choose to live near a pond in the kingdom. it was magnificent, the pond. it always replayed the colours of its surrounding like an oil painting, glistening with the glow from the dropping rays of the Sun.
though y/n worked with gardening and keeping things intact even for the royal family. sometimes she would get letters from Sariel, the stand-in king. the letters would always be something to do with their garden and their dire need to have y/n look at it with her own eyes, rather than Sariels attempts to find the corresponding descriptions.
and of course, after doing this fairly often she got close with Sariel. he would let her get tours of the palace and look around even stay for nights or days if needed. there were just a few rooms he left unspoken of. as any human would, she grew curious about them and looked in the untoured areas. and just by chance, the first room she checked was a library. it was, to say the least, blooming with the collection of books the sturdy bookshelves held. it was a room just dedicated to the collection's display.
and as the girl glazed her eyes upon it she was left shuddering at the sudden presence of a hand on her arm. it was the second prince. he wore a grim look on his face when looking over her face. she had met him before. it was supposed to be a regular visit of hers to look over the garden flowers and if they were cared enough for. and as said she stumbled to catch sight of Chevalier. then he was just ignorant of her, head delved into the book he was reading. yn was warned that everyone that lived here was in a bit 'odd and odder' type of situation. y/n guessed Chevalier was the lesser.
of course, some of those times could be misjudged as simple attention giving, but y/n knew Chevalier wouldn't do that. right?
as did Chevalier, y/n ignored him too. she simply had no interest in his doing and cared to look at the flowers that were buried in the ground near him. he glanced at her a set of times, but his lips were sealed tight. to him y/n was just a peasant, but why would Sariel invite a simpleton to look over the garden. they already had people to take care of this, but he thought over it. y/n wanted to glance over at the man as well, but her mind begged to differ.
when noticing a couple of pricks on the roses she sighed, got up from her crouching position and went over for some tools to take care of the problem. as y/n was in the delicate shed she let her eyes roam over the walls, the ground, the covered desk, but she was incapable to find the needed tools.
as y/n slightly edged her eyes to the entryway she saw a glimpse of white. she thought it was just a bird who flew by, but she was far from right on that. suddenly her body was engulfed by a new cologne, only the richest she assumed and felt arms creep around her sides. it was Chevalier. he had pressed her body in his arms and let his words sink into her mind.
"looking for these?" he showed her the tools she begged to find here, laying plainly on his gloved hand. she went to take them from his grasp but inevitably got squeezed by him.
clutching onto his arms she tapped his arm for him to let go, though he insisted on standing still. y/n felt like he was about to squish her to death, but the creeping thoughts disappeared when he spoke.
"do me a favour, simpleton," he spoke in a brash tone. y/n got annoyed by his insult, getting the idea of kicking his shins out of place. I mean, doubt she could to this brick wall, but by height, she could. she wasn't much of a tall one. not even close. she was truly short as a teenager in the earliest stages. and Chevalier, well he towered over her almost like a giant predator driven by instinct to hold her close.
