I'm very late to watching this but then it took a new year's hiatus anyway so there's still a week until next episode. Solid, we've got all the Dragon Balls now although not all in the heroes' posession. Big thing this episode is SSJ3 Vegeta, which looks kinda dumb child sized, but I mean yeah no I guess why not choose now to actually canonically give him that. I'm actually very strongly opinionated on Super Saiyan forms and I've gone back and forth on Super Saiyan 3 specifically, but to keep a very long story short I'm honestly pretty against giving the form to Vegeta, especially as a child. But such is modern Dragon Ball, so oh well, I'm not really upset. But again, fine episode, looking forward to cour 2. I believe the working assumption most people have and apparently with some amount of evidence is that Daima will just be 2 cours anyway and stop, so like, cool.

I set a goal and now I have like five new half-done poems; I somehow overlooked the way I strip things down to bones to inspect every single part and dissect what it means and now it’s nearly midnight, I have nothing done it seems!

I’ve opened up a can of worms I do it every time I thought I’d skate with some free verse resist the urge to rhyme Instead I’ve spent the whole night long dissecting god, and me; it’s just day two, imagine what I’ll churn out on day three…

Rather unusual first episode in that it's not the first episode. You can splice MyGo episode 13 as the first episode of Ave Mujica or you can splice Ave Mujica as a whole as episode 14 of MyGo - MyGo's members are even decently prominent here, like despite the western marketing push of Ave Mujica as like a whole new thing (even dropping the "BanG Dream" from the official English title) if you skip MyGo you're gonna be lost as fuck.

Actually I wanna talk about that western marketing push for a second, because yeah sure I'm about it, make more people watch a good anime like sure. There are official BanG Dream accounts in a multitude of languages, they got the seiyuu speaking those languages in like an inviting people to try out Ave Mujica thing, the English account at the very least is posting fumo memes, the aforementioned title change, a whole bunch of shit.

Tell me why, then, Crunchyroll's release is missing tons of text that should be translated? There are like 3 separate moments in this episode where you're staring at a text conversation on a phone and it's left untranslated. So are the song lyrics, obviously, I've come to expect that though. But christ alive imagine making such a western marketing push and then letting Crunchyroll let you stare at a phone screen like a fucking moron because you can't read Japanese. It's pathetic. It's pathetic to the point where I probably will just not watch SubsPlease and am gonna need to wait for a group to pick this up and add song lyrics and text stuff translations. I'm seriously pissed off about this! This is what every single show was like on Crunchyroll for a while but standards have evolved and Crunchyroll do actually translate most relevant text, why was Ave Mujica apparently fucking exempt? Especially with that marketing push? It's pathetic. Fucking embarrassing.

But yeah no I mean, show good. I am mentally ill.
