I made fun of the Untamed for their effects but I wanted to give some appreciation for their costumes and more specifically costume details! It's so rare to find modern costumes with so much detail and texture to them and I LOVE to see it :)

When he gets the first letter about Wei Ying and Huaisang sneaking into Cloud Recesses with alcohol, he covers his eyes with his hand.

Haoyu pluck the letter from his hand and scoffs. "This is nothing!"

"It was the first day," Jiang Cheng says. "Who knows what else they've gotten caught up in by now."

"What are you so worried about?" Haoyu asks, putting the letter aside to rub Jiang Cheng's shoulders. "Our boys manage to get along with the Jin and the Wen. And Mingjue is best friends with the older Lan boy, he won't let his brothers get too out of control. You can't really be worried about the Jiang?"

He almost laughs but instead just shakes his head.

Jiang Yanli and Jiang Wanyin are known to be polite and obedient and not for getting into any sort of trouble at all, kept firmly beneath their mother's thumb with no reason to push back against her.

Wei Ying is going to get under their skin like nothing else.

It's an odd thought, but Jiang Wanyin and Lan Wangji are probably going to have a fair bit in common this go around.

Wei Wuxian, our beloved gremlin, was always the reason behind the chaos. If he was there, he would surely be stirring up some trouble there. Lan Wangji was always where chaos was. What do you mean sense of duty, morals, ethics, and justice? Lan Wangji was just dutifully following his boyfriend. He wasn't where chaos was, he was wherever his chaos gremlin was.

"Hi Wen Ning," Wei Wuxian whispers.

The window opens, but it's Wen Qing standing there scowling. "Are you out of your mind? What if someone catches you-"

"Oh, stop complaining," he says, pushing her back so he can scramble through the open window. "If I can sneak into Wen territory without getting caught, I can do the same to a dorm room."

The Nie land borders the Wen, which meant his fathers always ended up dealing with most of the Wen's bullshit. Mingjue and Huaisang both say things got better when they arrived and his dad started attending meetings with theirs, but that's not saying much. It must have been pretty fucking bad before for this to be better.

"You did get caught," she says in exasperation. "By me."

Yeah, that had been terrifying before he figured out how cool she was. "How's your dad?"

He was the only one Dad would deal with from her clan. He's actually pretty nice, for a Wen, and had never killed him for sneaking into his daughter's room, which Wei Wuxian appreciates.

"He told me to tell you to stop being a dumbass," she says bluntly. "Why are you here?"

He grins. "Want to go on an adventure?"

There's some emperor's smile with their name on it and only some mediocre wards and patrols in the way of it. They've done more for less.
