I've been in a podcasts and video games mood for a while, but I think it's time to try and change back to reading and writing, because I've been doing far too little of both. So today I decided to spend some time finishing a few books.

I finished reading All Flesh Is Grass, the Time Lord Victorious novel that I put down... more than 18 months ago. Whoops. I couldn't be bothered starting from the start again so I just finished it. Una McCormack has a really wonderful way with words, I highlighted a lot of phrases I liked or made me laugh, such as the Great Vampires' Coffin Ship being described "like sailing through space in a velvet fridge." But while having Eight, Nine, and Ten together is very cool, I'm not sure the book captured the Doctors with its dialogue. And there was way too many paragraph breaks and cutting between scenes, often several on a page. On the whole these issues made me think the story would've been better as a script for an audio, but I think overall I enjoyed the Time Lord Victorious novels more than other people. Now that I've finished them, I'm going to finish listening to all the TLV audios, and consider myself done with the project. And when I feel like I have a bit more free time, I'll move on to Doom's Day. On the whole I think I'm less interested in it than I was with TLV, but it is nice to see that they took feedback from TLV onboard by restricting Doom's Day to a limited, ordered series rather than a sprawling chaotic web of stories. As much as I was amused by the sprawling chaotic web.

I also finished my reread of The Mysterious Mr Quin by Agatha Christie. I think it's definitely not some of Christie's best writing or cleverest mysteries, but it's still one of my favourites because of Mr Quin and Mr Satterthwaite's relationship. There needs to be a TV adaptation of the characters that can mix and match bits of the short stories and include all of the really emotional parts. Much more so than Christie's other protagonists, you could get really stylised TV with Mr Quin.

I read some 2006 Doctor Who short stories in my continuing project to refine a history of the Master's timeline. I've been consuming so much Master content recently, I really hope that I can pull all the fun facts I've learnt together into some kind of video eventually. I don't know how, but it'll be a good opportunity to learn some new creative skills!

I have so many novels and books on my to-read list, of course including the EDAs, which embarrassingly I haven't touched for a few years now, but I took a blood oath to someday finish in their entirety. But I think my next book might be yet another Doctor Who one, the 1999 Past Doctor Adventure Divided Loyalties, because it includes both (dubious) Master lore, and The Toymaker.

The tag from your denim jacket had been irritating you since the second you put it on but you chose to forget about it, often adjusting it with your nails or a little shimmy of your shoulders.

Holding the mic from Sky Sports F1 wasn’t all too odd for you, the broadcast team only handing it to you when talking about Lewis and his achievements. Your support for the Stevenage driver was strong, often being as labelled as biased but you couldn’t care less. The support was mutual between the two of you, usually lingering on the line of friendship but doubt and time was always against you.

Your sunglasses sat on your braided head with a bored expression on your face, just wanting to get this segment over with so that you could go back to your individual blogging and interviews. Standing patiently in front of the cameras while other reporters ran around unorganised, you played with your beaded ‘44�� bracelet.

“My goodness, Y/n! I have no clue how you are so calm, this is always so hard!” One of them exclaimed, laughing in the process. “Not to mention the outfit! You look like you could go to a party!” Another laughed, her smile faltering when your eyes snapped to her, expression never changing.

After a while, the segment began and off the reporters went on a scripted tangent about other teams before getting to the main topic; Lewis. “Now, onto a different subject, Lewis Hamilton’s performance in that car has been nothing short of a…disaster if I could say.” Jimmy said, deciding to look at you as he spoke. Almost as if he was challenging you.

“For a specific race weekend or overall? His teammate, George is doing significantly better. I don’t know what’s wrong with him, it’s like he doesn’t know how to drive.” Jennifer spoke, poorly making an attempt of a joke.

“I’m not too sure why you’re speaking as if he is a rookie. You lot can see that Mercedes hasn’t been doing well as a collective yet you’re targeting one driver who has brought then 8 constructer titles rather than the other who has one win.” Lifting your mic, you spoke with a clear voice, never stuttering.

Frank shook his head and tried to chuckle. “Look Y/n. We understand he’s your boyfriend or whatever but we need to be factual here. What Ferrari has done is a mistake by signing him. I mean, there needs to be more space for others and he’s taking up space.”

“And Alonso’s dusty ass doesn’t need to leave? Using my support for Lewis to try and justify your dislike for him is unprofessional. I have no clue how you have the gumption to say all this.” You responded, still not moving from your spot.

The other 4 reporters stared at you in shock along with other people stopping in the paddock, surrounding the space just in front of the official f1 hospitality suite.

“There’s no need to use aggressive language, Y/n.” Jennifer lifted her hand to place on your shoulder but you moved away in time. “Aggressive for who?” You challenged, tilting your head.

It had gotten quite. “The viewers. It’s not a lie, Lewis is just not good anymore. He needs to make space.” One of them spoke up but you couldn’t be bothered to listen to anyone else other than Frank, your eyes trained on him.

“What? We need to speak with the producers, having an independent journalist was a mistake.” Frank smirked.

“You can take your opinion and shove it up your ass. Thanks for having me, Sky Sports F1.” You turned to the camera to blow a kiss then you gave the mic you were holding to whoever would catch it.

Walking away from the set, you knew what you did was undeniably unprofessional but those people had always had a vendetta against Lewis and any reporter/journalist who support him. Breathing out, you sashayed your way through the paddock with people staring as your braids glided in the slight breeze.

The buzz of your phone shook you out of your racing mind, a little gasp escaping your mouth as you read the notification from instagram.

You first looked around the paddock after reading that message but you figured that he watched it live just like everyone else did. Your anger for that segment had clouded your thoughts so much, you forgot about the interview you were supposed to have with the champion.

Rushing to the large luxurious paddock club, you received all types of looks from those who either clearly watched the broadcast live or they’re looking at your outfit, although the latter was made up in your mind.

Luckily, he hadn’t arrived to the designated room you booked to have the interview with him but as soon as you got your phone out to record and your notes, the screams and excitement were heard from outside the door and a smile couldn’t help but sneak on your face.

You have only interviewed him three times in your entire career but every time you did so, he never wanted it to end, always trying to make it longer by asking his own questions to you or just sharing a laugh.

With security opening the door for him, he entered the room and spotted you with a smile on his face. He entered alone in the mercedes shirt already on. No words needed to spoken by either of you, Lewis opening his arms for a hug to greet you. Once in his embrace, you thought it’d be quick but to your surprise, it lasted a few moments longer.

“Hi Y/n.” Lewis spoke, a hand still on your shoulder. You took a quick breath and immediately relaxed on the spot. “Hey Lewis.”

“Your response to Sky was insane but I liked it.” He chuckled, sitting across from you with his legs open and a ring clad hand sat comfortably on his lap.

You didn’t want to show him how the sight affected you especially when your emotions are sky high so you remained calm on the outside. “It’s just…I’m pretty sure I lost my job just now because of how I reacted.” You sighed out, flicking a few braids back.

“Some of them had said worse things so you’re okay.” Lewis responded, his tone wasn’t all too sure but he just wanted to lift your mood. “Yeah but I’m black. They used micro aggressions too.” You couldn’t help but chuckle at everything once recalling back to that moment.

“I heard. I’ll have a word with Sky.” He reassured you. “Oooh okay, Sir.” You joked, masking how the reassurance made your stomach flutter. You’d like to think he was openly flirting with you but you quickly put that thought at the back of your mind.

“I just don’t want those people to forget who you are, you know? I’m sure you hear this all the time. You know what you’re doing and you’re the best at it. I wanna remind the people who the goat is.” You rambled a bit, noticing his smile growing as he listened to you.

“You’re too kind, really. I know what I am, it’s just a little tough right now.” He shrugged as he fully leaned back into his seat. “If you need me to fight anybody in your team, let me know.” You winked, flashing a comical smile that made Lewis laugh.

Giving you a once over, Lewis leaned forward and rested his tatted arms on his knees. “You look good today. You always do but today…phenomenal.” He spoke, his voice noticeably relaxed. “Don’t make me blush, Sir.” You smiled, failing terribly at hiding your feeling.

“That nickname, Y/n,” He chuckled. “Is that door locked?” He asked. All you had to do was nod at the man and Lewis smirked, licking his lips in the process.

“C’mere.”

Deep Dive into the issues on Alastor.

CONTENT WARNING: Racism, Aphobia.

Now that I created a blog specifically for stuff like this, It's time for the dive.

Alastor is a character that resonates with me, because this guy is supposed to represent me and my people (aspec/aroace community) and I liked his pilot personality. (That went to shit)

This man got so many issues, that i have to take the pen myself and scribble what Vivzie has wrote. So, Let's start, shall we?

THE DESIGN

The first time I saw the Hazbin pilot, I got confused about what Alastor was supposed to be. I thought he was just a grey human wearing some kind of animal ears until the fandom said he is a deer.

A deer. Let that sink in.

As someone passionate about the arts, this upset me. Sure, I haven't been to art school, but even I know you need to put the backstory and features in mind when designing a character.

Character design is NOT throwing things at the wall and seeing which sticks. It needs actual critical thinking. If your audience is confused about your character's species, it's time to go back to the drawing table (unless you have a reason for making it mysterious.)

Second, the overabundance of red is awful in terms of color theory. This guy is in Hell, which is also red, causing an eyesore. I got a headache when trying to focus on him on a red background. And also, colors have meaning. People associate red with danger, so the fact he even managed to get victims to kill makes me puzzled.

Also, the fact he's supposed to be mixed/black makes this design even worse. Why is he grey instead of brown, perhaps? Vivzie has a pattern of making POCs grey-skinned, which is, again, awful.

I think Vivzie only made him a POC due to the voodoo issue. I mean, just remove the symbols and you are done. But nah the symbols are too "aesthetic" to remove. So gotta change his race.

She could have used another symbols, like THIS for example:

THE BACKSTORY

Ok, this where I'm very confused.

Alastor is a radio host, and also a serial killer. He was born in the USA, got killed by a deer hunter by mistake, and lived in the 1920's.

This is what I gathered from being a superfan back then, and it sounds unorganised/cluttered. And the years he lived in make his design even worse. (Again! His clothing doesn't speak the 1920s!)

The fact he's from an old era, and yet speaks in modern slang is weird. He's supposed to hate anything modern, and yet he does it anyway? His saying "fuck" multiple times is so out of character for him. I guess the "If made by Vivziepop" memes have some truth.

Putting the fact he's mixed, makes the backstory more confusing. How did he manage to be a popular radio host at the time before the civil rights movement became a thing? He will have been put down like the rest of the POCs in America. Either that he's white-passing, or it's VERY difficult. Adding the fact he's a serial killer makes me think how the cops didn't get to him (the mere fact he's black should have got him questioned in 1920s America)

Now, for his identity. I'm mad he's the only aroace character in the sea of gays and bisexuals. (I'm not saying gay men and bisexual people should not have representation. I have to say that due to tumblr's piss poor reading comprehersion)

which made me go through on why Vivzie made him aroace in the first place. I don't know if this is true, but I heard she made him aroace because "he only loves himself"

Um. Here we go again with allos assuming we are non-empathic psychopaths for our lack of sexual or/and romantic attraction. I hope that's not true at all, but knowing Vivzie's past, I wouldn't be surprised.

Alastor would have been a great character if another person took care of it instead of Vivziepop. What I'm gonna say is, wasted potential.

A/N... this is a repost from my very temporary old blog (sorryyy)... i decided to 'rebrand' this blog (once i finally figured out the login details), so we've gone from typing-ptera to fictoculus! i'm working on getting all my posts cleaned up too, but my masterlist broke so please bear with me ♡ thank you and enjoy!

soft and gentle; delicate touches lingering on your warm skin as his fingertips kiss you all over. your limbs tangled with his like the wires left unorganised in your shared home. you were knotted together tightly; so tightly that it would take an unimaginable amount of time and force to rip the two of you apart.

the love you shared was messy and untamed. threads of adoration, devotion, and intimacy twisting together as one, a string with which you sew together the pieces of the lives you live together - the lives you share.

soon, with those threads, will come a new life. one so delicate and innocent that he's afraid to touch it. he's afraid that he'll chip away at it as if it were porcelain, each touch from his calloused hands cracking it's fragile skin. he's afraid everything he lives for will shatter in his arms, a thousand fragments of fond memories scattered around him with their corners curved, as the love was too forgiving and kind to ever hurt him.

but even if the stitches come undone, you'll still love him.

you'll still love his cold demeanour, and the way he shuts himself out when he's struggling, but always leaves a gap in the door for you. you'll still love his trusting and loyal nature, despite being betrayed too many times for hands to count. you'll still love him, regardless of his fears, his anxieties, his habits. you'll still love him when he's unsure, you'll still love him when he's wrong.

which is why you stood by him when he feared that fatherhood wouldn't purify him the way he thought it would. it's why you stood by him until he reached the very end of his string; until you could follow him no longer.

now, the two of you lie side by side, still and quiet, a darkness weighing you down, leaving your hearts heavy with desire.

a man clad in black stands before you, and from his lips fall a poem embroidered on silk, laid gently upon your casket as earth envelops you in her soiled embrace:

"soft and gentle, messy and untamed, delicate and innocent, forgiving and kind, trusting and loyal, still and quiet: threads of our love which knows no bounds sew me a sweater, dear, for a sweater will keep me warm when your heart is no longer near"

Okay so- that big run comic I'm doing is taking much longer to do than I expected (due to irl stuff and a slight loss of focus/motivation) so for the big run I'll just be finishing this sketch and while I will still work on said comic I'm gonna hold off on posting any parts till it's all done- so I will in fact start doing asks again as I don't know how long it will take and I don't wanna leave this blog bare lol Anyway apologies for the constant back and forth in my choices but I'm a very- unorganised idiot who can't focus on one thing for too long lol
