i did the sword machine not that long time ago but i def should draw them more often. they're epic

many people have the take that we will have the final fight with Gabriel in violence, and while I do think we will most likely encounter him in some way, I don’t think that he will die so soon. Looking at it pacing wise that leave 2 more layers left with nothing really going on besides v1 going down and down for blood. There probably will have some kind of Lucifer fight or something but that feels kind of just anticlimactic and weird to have as the final build up fight when so far the entire current story line has been about gabriel. There’s been one single mention of Lucifer in the whole game compared to everything going on with gabby boy. He’s the main character of the games story so it just feels weird to remove him right at the start of the first layer of the games last act.

I think Gabriel is easily the most mischaracterized character this entire game. It feels like fans project into him to the point of inventing new personality traits on him to either make him more relatable or attractive. And I don’t mean trans Gabriel headcanons or jokes about Gabriel enjoying fishing, those are fine and harmless.

I mean stuff like Gabriel being portrayed as this overly emotional crybaby who can’t handle anything that challenges him when all the dialogue and description around him is either contempt or full blown adoration. What makes his fight with V-1 so special is that we’re watching a guy with a black belt get his ass best by a kid with a white belt who keeps chucking pennies at him. I also notice fans love to blame everything Gabriel has done on religious trauma and the council. Gabriel is a grown genderless Angel. Obviously the council holds some blame for how they convinced him that he was doing a just and moral thing… but he was still committing atrocities. Being fed propaganda doesn’t remove accountability.

And I know this is more of a meme but I don’t really enjoy the interpretation that Gabriel became an atheist at the end of Act 2. It’s not like he decided “God doesn’t exist and doesn’t love me” it’s that he realized his God was not the one guiding him to commit these atrocities and it was the council manipulating him.

Ultrakill has a strong grip on me, meet V1.5 it's from an AU where they had time to perfect the V1 model before the peace

I don't know their exact mechanics or preferred weapons yet, i just started playing the game but I'm thinking that they might need more blood for whatever reason, hence the weird ass swords machine head repurposed as a fuel tank and the self made chest cavity for keeping organs and what not and other useful things

I think they'd also love modifying themselves and would think it's really fun to use parts scavanged from other robots

Other than that i don't really know what else to add rn, they're a rabid dog fr fr

reason: At the start of the game, gabriel is the sword of god, he devotes all he is to gods will, but when he meets v1, he ends up losing a fight for the first time and being ridiculed by heaven for it, causing him to grow an immense hatred for the machine.

During his 2nd fight with the machine (v1), he starts to learn that the feeling he was feeling this whole time was not rage, but excitement, from finally finding an equal opponent, this brings him down a massive path of self discovery in which he wields his sword as his own and not someone else's
