Curtailment of Pre-settled Status Under the EU Settlement Scheme: What You Need to Know
The EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) has provided EU citizens and their family members the opportunity to secure their rights to live and work in the UK post-Brexit. However, the rules surrounding pre-settled status are more complex than they may seem. While the Home Office offers some flexibility in granting status, it also retains the discretionary power to curtail (cancel) pre-settled status if an…

Have you recently had a UK immigration application denied? Don't lose hope! You may be able to appeal the decision and still get approved. Here's what you need to know.
UK Immigration Lawyers' Top Tips on Winning an Immigration Appeal—
According to recent data, over 50% of immigration appeals in the UK to the First Tier Tribunal are successful. With the right strategy, you can overturn that initial refusal decision. Preparing a solid case starts with understanding the appeals process from start to finish.
What is an Immigration Appeal?
A UK immigration appeal is a legal procedure to challenge a visa or settlement refusal. You get 28 days after receiving the refusal letter to apply. Your documentation and arguments are then reviewed by an immigration judge at a hearing. They decide whether to uphold or overturn the original decision.
The process can be complicated, so working with an experienced immigration lawyer is highly recommended. They can help put together the strongest appeal case possible.

For those based in the UK, we’ve got our work cut out for us with regards to the Labour to Reform pipeline.
Nigel Farage will receive a boost from Donald Trump. Labour’s austerity will push more people towards him. We need to offer something better.
That’ll take a lot of work, but the first thing we can agree on is that Farage is lazy. He’s a LARPer and the people he tries to appeal actually work more than he does.
He’s doing nothing for the people of Clacton. He’s doing nothing but collecting an MP’s salary. He wants to make his case on immigrants taking jobs, but he can’t even be bothered to turn up for his.

How concerned do you think we should be about people who may not want to vote for a Harris-Shapiro ticket? Personally I think he’d be a great choice for VP, but I am worried about people who would smear him because of Gaza. I’ve read up on how his own views on it have changed and how he supports a two-state solution like pretty much any other Democrat and how he is against Netanyahu, but you just know how misinformation that appeals to people’s biases can stick.
well first off I don't think we should worry till we have a VP pick (statements that will be dated very soon) we don't know who Vice President Harris will pick, it might be Governor Shapiro, it might be Pete Buttigieg, Mark Kelly, Tim Walz, or Andy Beshear, and I think they're all great, all good picks, all worthwhile.
On Josh Shapiro himself, I've seen an alarming amount of, disinformation, lies, misinformation, and twisting about him, indeed over the weekend one of the most aggressive attempts to ratfuck a person in such a short period of time I've ever seen. I can't say for sure where it came from but it was an impressive weekend for misinformation, with a trans panic about a cisgender boxer in the Olympics and anti-immigrant race riots in the UK targeting muslims about an attack carried out by a British born teen. Both cases as it turns out go back to Russian misinformation (Boxer, Race Riot) Just something to keep in mind as we watch fake and misleading stories about Democratic elected officials pop up.
Any ways on Shapiro himself, He has a very progressive record, his views on Israel are the same as everyone else on the short list, and indeed Kamala Harris views too. In some ways as a Jewish politician he's felt more comfortable criticizing Israel and Netanyahu than Goyish politicians, there's a good article about this:
if someone is willing to vote for Harris with any other VP, but not Shapiro, even though he has the same views on Israel as the rest, and indeed none of them have called Netanyahu "one of the worst leaders of all time", well they just have a problem with a Jewish VP.
I'm not overly worried about it TBH, antisemitism is a huge turn off to normal voters, but its up to everyone normal to dismiss it and keep trucking.
I don't know who Kamala Harris will pick, but if its Josh Shapiro, I'll be thinking about this news story from 1986 every time he comes up:
Before he was 13 years old Josh Shapiro formed a national organization to fight to free a friend he'd never met before in person from an evil empire, and they did.

When Labor won the most recent election in July, many Britons expected Keir Starmer’s government to take a more humane approach to migration. And while it has scrapped the deeply unpopular Rwanda plan, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper picked up right where her predecessors left off. She has reiterated the need for more border security, boasting that the government would achieve “the highest rate of removals” of failed asylum seekers and others with “no right” to be in the UK since 2018. In the UK, too, the anti-immigration consensus cuts across party lines. The new far right draws its recruits from a wide range of class backgrounds as well. Among those arrested for rioting are a “highly paid” nuclear power plant worker from Somerset, a handyman from Lancashire, and the owner of an engineering business. The instigators of the violence—Robinson, Fox, or Farage—are economically well-off but have managed to present themselves as leaders of a persecuted “anti-establishment” majority. Political and media narratives often define Britain’s “working class” as white and northern. While many racialized Britons and migrants are themselves working class, the far right sees them as undeserving of social goods that they would prefer to distribute among themselves. The riots, then, weren’t genuine expressions of proletarian anger as far-right politicians and pundits have suggested—but it would be amiss not to mention that the riots happened in some of the most deprived parts of the country. Devastated by decades of deindustrialization and austerity, these communities have become invaluable recruiting grounds for far-right groups and parties, who rely on them for their working-class credentials and populist legitimacy. By framing economic crises as problems of border security, the far right has legitimized its “concerns” about immigration and made them appealing to the public. The postwar compromise between capital and labor, which served as the economic basis for the welfare state, no longer holds. Deindustrialization, austerity, and Brexit have destroyed the British economy, and sections of the British electorate seem to long for a time when economic crises could be solved by a simple spatial fix: the empire. But the wars and poverty caused by imperialism’s search for profits—and the climate crisis caused by the world’s industrial nations—are making large swathes of the planet uninhabitable, forcing more and more people to leave their homes. As Nadine El-Enany writes in the New Left Review, Britain’s increasingly draconian border politics are a “continuation of colonial violence: an attempt to police the nation’s last frontier, so that the wealth and status gained from imperial conquest is preserved, materially and symbolically—and withheld from former colonial subjects.”

What to do if your UK Visit Visa is Refused?
When it comes to UK Visas and Immigration, a lot of variables are at play for every single visa application. Be sure to have a look at our guide on Visit Visas so that you are on the right track on your visit visa application. However, if you applied and the UK Visit Visa is Refused, the next thing you need to know is what will be your next steps in this case.
With visa refusals, there is no point re-applying unless you are able to change the part of your application (or its supporting documents) that got you refused in the first place, or else you will face the same result.
However, it is entirely possible that you can be successful when re-applying if you give the Immigration Officers what they want.
And therefore, precaution is better than cure.
UK Visit Visa is Refused? Follows these steps when you reapply
Be consistent in your purpose for the trip
You can’t say you wish to visit your son when you will only be spending a few hours with them. Whether or not he visits you later in India is completely irrelevant. If you are going to visit your son, make sure you are visiting him for a significant portion of your trip, otherwise do not mention it as your main reason.
Write and submit a travel itinerary
It does not have to be super specific, just what you plan to do each day.
Detailed financial sponsorship information
(If someone is sponsoring you) In addition to the bank statements, you could mention that you have been eager to visit the UK for quite some time, and that since your sponsor supports you financially and wants you to enjoy yourself, they will be providing you with X amount of money that they have been saving for a while for this purpose (perhaps have your sponsor mention that paying for your trip is their way of giving back to you for all the support you gave them in their lifetime).
Being refused a visa is frustrating and upsetting, but you must understand that there are clear and defined things you can change to improve your next application, which can be successful. While we have dealt with certain specifications of avoiding a UK Visit Visa Refusal in future, it’s important to know the appeal procedures an applicant has the right to follow should the application for any other kind of UK Visa be refused.
Make the ‘Smart Move’ to avoid UK Visa Refusal Reasons
Keep in mind, the UK Visit Visa Refusal letter does say that any future applications you make will be considered on their individual merits, however based on our experience as immigration lawyers in the UK visas and immigration industry for more than a decade, we are fairly certain that there is a possibility that previous applications made will be looked at to see if the applicant is changing their application falsely simply to get a visa
Also remember, even if you change everything to what you believe is perfect, it is entirely possible that you will get refused again for different reasons entirely. It is completely up to you to decide whether it is worth the effort and money to make another application.
If you would like professional advice, please contact a solicitor with experience. It will prevent bad immigration history and personal stress and grief. For The SmartMove2UK’s assistance on any of your future UK visit plans, whatever be the reasons, fill in the form on your side and one of our associates will be in touch with you very shortly.
Our immigration attorneys have helped numerous clients from across the world achieve their UK immigration ambitions and are keen on assisting many more in the future. Everything You Need to Know About Immigration Appeal in the UK
Have you received the dreaded visa refusal letter? Don't panic - you may still have options. Getting refused for a UK visa application can feel incredibly frustrating and unjust. However, refusal doesn't necessarily mean the end of the road. In many cases, you have the right to appeal the decision, especially if you believe there are compassionate circumstances or errors of law or process involved.
Lodging an immigration appeal allows you to present new evidence to potentially overturn the refusal decision. Without appeal rights, there would be no route to administratively review a refusal to check if it was erroneously made. The appeal system acts as an important system of checks and balances to ensure fair and lawful decision-making.
Wanna know more? Don’t skip reading.
Grounds for Appeal—
There are different grounds under which you can appeal an immigration refusal decision:
The Error of Law: The Home Office did not properly apply immigration laws and rules.
Process Errors: Mistakes were made in handling/assessing your application.
Disproportionate Decisions: The refusal violates human rights/disregards compassionate factors.
youtube
An experienced immigration solicitor can assess the specifics of your case and grounds to determine if appealing is appropriate and in your best interests.
Finding Quality Immigration Appeal Assistance—
Navigating the appeals system on your own can be challenging. An immigration specialist understands appeal procedures and laws inside out.
They can build the strongest possible case highlighting where the Home Office erred or violated rights.
With an excellent solicitor on your side, you stand the highest chance of overturning the refusal through the appeals process.
Closing Remarks:
Do your research to find top solicitors with extensive immigration appeals experience in the UK. Look for expertise, strong credentials and client testimonials offered by Intime Immigration Solicitors. Don't hesitate to ask questions - they will offer an initial consultation to discuss your situation and options free of charge. With the right help, you can work to challenge the refusal decision and continue pursuing your immigration goals.

Its funny how people talk about classism and working class rep in RTD1 but casually say they're happy Martha wasn't working class bc 'it would've been bad representation' in the same breath. Yh, there's a lot of damaging hood stereotypes out there but being working class whilst Black doesn't automatically make the character bad. We're not problematic just for existing. If anything, Martha being a working-class Black woman becoming a doctor would've been even more groundbreaking, especially bc the average Black Brit is working-class or below. Even Freema Agyeman herself grew up on a council estate. That could've been really inspirational. The idea that UK discrimination ignores race and only focuses on class is false especially if u look at how the Windrush were treated because they were working class AND Black/of colour (Tory party appealing to white working classes with anti-immigrant rhetoric, Sikh and Muslim workers making their own unions bc they were excluded, West Indians being denied rent etc.). RTD fans love to create a split where Rose's working class rep and Martha's Black rep exist in boxes that don't ever touch but they do. I've seen so many 'but Martha's middle class so I couldn't relate to her' which is funny bc apart from ignoring all the Black fans that couldn't relate to most characters in the show anyway, a lot of us still related to Rose. South and East London are have huge multiracial and multicultural working class communities. We deserve to be represented too. We exist. Working class isn't a synonym for white.
It just says a lot how much RTD and Rose are gassed for destigmatising working class characters but it would've been sooo bad if those characters were Black lol. 'Chav' and 'roadman' have become removed from their OG meanings and are now aesthetics and trends but the actual people living their lives are still living the stigma. You lot love 'chavs' as in cute y2k fits on a conventionally attractive white woman but lord forbid a hypothetical Black person that's unemployed, broke and speaking Black Brit Vernacular getting that doccy who screentime bc that's a bit too ghetto™ apparently. It also says u lot have limited imagination. Attack the Block and The Kitchen proved Black working-class characters can exist in sci-fi and if we're gonna go there... they're doing more for working-class rep rn than RTD1 almost 2 decades ago.
Martha could've walked around in a northface jacket with half a tub of eco styler on her head and she still would've been great idc!

Hey guys, it is @wildflagsure birthday today and last night she demanded I make a "really good" post for her for her birthday. She can't help it, she's from Greece but lives in the UK and what I have heard is immigrants there are always coming in and demanding things, it's why as a country they decided to set their economy on fire, because if you make your little island completely unlivable then no one will want to move there. Not that tactic I would have taken but then I try not be a hateful bigot, so who am I to talk? Anyway, besides blaming @wildflagsure for all of England's problems (and like… where was she when they lost the Empire? She can't account for her whereabouts) I do want to celebrate her birthday. By talking about myself. I mean, it is my blog, I tagged her twice, I am not sure how much more giving a person can be. I'll drive literally tens of people to her dead blog. Anyway, my favorite thought about Andi, which I will call her from here out because first I am tired of tagging and second I think it looks cooler with the E not on it but also it's short for Antigone and I can change a T to a D for a friend but I'll be dead and buried before I leave off the apostrophe if you insist on shortening Antigone to Anti'e. Anyway, my favorite thought is when she was doing a small radio show live (and doing it wrong, rather than use the service that paid for the songs rights they just played shit off of spotify because literally no one cared) I used to listen every week cause it was fun to support her but also she likes good music. There was a listener request form and I used to submit requests. I did this for a few reasons. One, I learned on tumblr every single person in the world wants more asks. It is exciting and makes them feel special. Also, by sending multiple requests or messages a show it meant they would seem very popular to other listeners and you know, fake it till you make it, that way everyone else would go, "Wow, these guys must be more famous than I realized. I should tell my friends to listen and also send in requests". And then, obviously, I like to control women and tell them what to do, so it was a real rush to send in a song title and then make her do it. Anyway, there was a time when the person she did it with referred to me as, "Our fan". And that got a snap back of, "Actually, is MY friend". It was very defensive and I appreciated that in part it came from the fact that her cohost was trying to diminish me in a way that person liked to do and Andi was willing to stand up and protect me even though honestly, I didn't care. She did, that mattered. I mean, there was a lot going on there because her cohost was one of those lowkey monsters you meet in your late teens and early 20's who you find compelling because you are too young to know better but also because you are insecure and the fact that they have absolutely no moral center is appealing because it sure must be nice to not be insecure and upset and worried about things all the time. Andi eventually moved on, don't worry. Actually, it's really cool to see that she has matured into just a totally cool as fuck lesbian bad ass. I mean, she was always those things but now she has the confidence and a really cool life that she always was going to have but I bet she was unaware of. Like, she has her own place, she has a hot girlfriend, she eats cool meals, and she can get you any drugs you want. It's pretty cool.
Anyway, today I am posting Georgia Ellenwood because in my experience Andi loves Olympic Athletes. She always goes on that she's glad someone is honoring Zeus properly. Now, sadly, Georgia Ellenwood is not going to the Olympics this year because she is still recovering from an injury. That kind of thing is always sad, athletes only have so many chances but I think she has a good future ahead of her even outside of sports because she is charming and friendly and well… looks like she does. It's not hard to imagine her being successful doing other things. And even if she felt like a good pick today because even if she isn't going to the Olympics I am willing to bet @wildflagsure would be willing to burn down a second island nation to sleep with her. Today I want to fuck Georgia Ellenwood.

I feel there has been a shift and that either Harry or his team are gunning for Washington DC hosting Invictus 2027 rather than Birmingham.
First Johnny Mercer lost his seat following the elections. He attended IG Dusseldorf but also exchanged informations with H about one of his case (his security case I think?). So the Sussex have lost a big supporter there. Now the Pat Tillman award. Not only is he getting an award named after an american veteran, but ESPN is not backing down. He's clearly trying to appeal to an american audience and he's receiving some help for this.
And last, I feel the britsh public has only apathy left for him, which is probably the worst response for him. The brits dont care anymore he's a prince. They already have William and Kate, who do royaling much better than him. Americans might not agree with the way he's acted, but the BRF still has a lot of appeal worldwide, no matter what SM say, so getting close to a real prince is still attractive. So I think Harry might really pivot and try to earn americans affection through the veterans and IG.
Could be. Harry can want Washington for 2027 Invictus Games all he wants, but Washington doesn’t want him. I live in the region and work downtown, and there’s been no stories or PR or any kind of information about the Invictus Games bids. That tells me there’s not a whole lot of establishment interest here and that Harry doesn’t have a Washington insider to help grease the wheels (he had the Obamas’ support in 2016).
And since the DOD has their own games, the Warrior Games, Washington doesn’t really need Invictus. When they want a feel-good story of their own, they turn in-house to the Warrior Games and our military hospitals. Which is precisely why Harry is cozying up to Warrior Games and the DOD; he wants to fold Invictus and Warrior Games together into a powerhouse to give him the legitimacy here in the US that he desperately craves and is constantly blocked from.
But that’s not likely to happen - Harry’s rent-a-royal status complicates things politically with US/UK relations and he’s deeply unpopular with the American public. (And yes, DOD brass is 100% paying attention to the backlash on the Tillman Award.) not to mention that pesky little lawsuit over his immigration and visa status that the establishment (yes, both parties) wants squashed.
Right now, Harry’s only partner is ESPN and ABC (which is confirmed by some of the tea that’s spilled recently). That’s not enough to get Washington onboard to host. He needs an insider that’s VERY high up the food chain, like White House high or Pentagon high, and neither option seems to be happening.
Washington, by the way, is much more focused on getting the 2027 NFL Draft. They’ve only been talking about it for 3 years.Washington isn’t going to pitch the NFL Draft and Invictus Games in the same year. The city government and the local officials want the NFL Draft. Invictus Games can’t bring in a quarter of the revenue, advertising, and profit of the NFL Draft and DC government isn’t going to risk losing the potential for a NFL Draft for something less assured.
Don’t forget, the Washington bid for Invictus Games only became known when Harry announced the shortlist last month. That doesn’t bode well, and neither does not having made the selection yet. My guess is they’re waiting to see what happens with the US election because if Trump gets in, Harry’s screwed; Trump hates the Sussexes and his loyalty to the BRF has been made very clear. That’s not the welcoming committee Harry and Meghan want.
But we’ll see. Time will tell eventually.
Edit: An anon shared Invictus's announcement about when they'll announce the host for 2027 Invictus Games and that included a link to a press release about the bids. As it turns out, the Washington Invictus Games bid wasn't even made by the city. It was made by the organization that owns and operates many of the entertainment venues within DC in cooperation with the city. That the city isn't leading the bid is also very telling.
AND the local papers - including the Washington Post - didn't pick up the announcement that DC was shortlisted for the 2027 event. If there was really an investment in choosing DC, the Post and the local press would've picked it up to start promoting it to help bolster the bid.

its so funny how the democratic party has shifted hard away from identity politics in their trajectory of just copying what worked for the uk labour party against a conservativr pparty that was trying to lose on purpose and libs r stil like "oh kamala lost cuz misogyny cuz americans r all misogynists like as individuals and they hate women" instead of her running a garbage campaign that tried to appeal to working class voters purely through bashing immigrants and trans folks. "oh were doomed these dipshits voted for a convicted felon cuz eggs were expensive" transphobia functions in and through capitalism u dipshits the price of eggs and even more so of houskng are a big reason why so many of my transgender friends have to live with their shitty transphobic parents. trump won because the democrats did almost nothing to address the real needs of working americans. they barely even bothered to make empty promises like they did in 2020
