taking off his jacket and loosening his tie, kuroo finally felt like he could take a break for once from all the work he's had to do this week. he slumped down on the sofa, sighing from exhaustion, just wanting to fall asleep, not caring about how he had to do household chores right away. the minute he closed his eyes, however, he felt a couple of cold hands cover them. "chibi-chan, i know you're there." he mumbled tiredly. you giggle in response. "it's a good thing you know, then, tetsu... because i think you were almost about to sleep on the little thing i prepared for you." kuroo raised an eyebrow as he placed his hands on top of yours, feeling the softness of your hands, but noted how sweet they smelled. "did you bake tonight, babe?" he asked you, making you nod. "correct! but the question is... what did i bake?"

kuroo gave a light chuckle at your playfulness and the mystery surprise your had prepared for him. he clicked his tongue and thought hard about what you were making. "hmm... chocolate cake?" "close, but no." "ah, red velvet cake." he was spot on. you sighed and removed your hands from his face, smiling up at him not long after with a slice of red velvet and cream cheese cake on a plate with a red candle lit on it for him. "shoulda known you'd be too sharp to fool you." you mumbled under your breath, pouting a little.

kuroo looked at the cake and back at you with a hint of confusion in his gaze. "what's this... for?" nevermind, he wasn't as sharp as you thought, or maybe this was an effect of him overworking himself. you chuckled and moved closer to him as he looked at the cake with intrigue and a new hunger in his stomach. "it's your birthday, tetsu..." you reminded him, making him blush a little in embarrassment. he smirked, but you could tell he was still flustered beneath that confident aura. "r-right, you remembered...?" "you're my boyfriend, how could i ever forget?" you asked him as he leaned close to you, parting his lips slightly as he wordlessly asked you to spoonfeed him.

"c'mon, babe... please? it's your favorite boy's birthday... it'd make me really happy for you to baby me, just for tonight..." he whispered in your ear, his lips against your earlobe, kissing the space between your cheekbone and ear, smiling against your skin. it sent a shivering sensation up your body, yet a warm, flushed feeling down your shoulders. you decided to give in and fed him yourself, with him happily eating up the piece of cake, and exaggeratedly humming and smiling in approval. "is it good?" you asked him, a little anxious. kuroo looked into your eyes and grinned, placing his thumb on your cheek, rubbing it gently. "it's... it tastes like chocolate cake, but it's got some C18H14N2Na2O8S2 in it, with a whole lot of love. of course it does, it's the best cake i've ever had, love." he mutters, kissing your cheek as you're left stunned by both that word vomit of a chemical formula that he uttered and because of his kiss and compliments.

"i'm not even gonna ask what that means..." "it's the chemical composition for red food dye..." he mumbles, wrapping his arm around you as he lazily cuddles with you on the sofa, mumbling how soft and squishy you feel underneath him. "this is the best birthday ever. thank you, chibi-chan." he thanked you with a tired smile, his joy overshadowing his fatigue, and his smile lighting up the room even more than the dim lights did. you felt yourself get a little shy at his gaze, but you found the strength to nod and smile back, leaning against his chest after setting the plate down on the coffee table.

"and i want it to be the best birthday every year for you..." you declared softly, making kuroo chuckle as he pulled you closer to him. "it always will be, babe; as long as you're with me, it'll always be the best birthday." he reassured you, resting his head against yours, kissing it every now and then as he let the minutes pass by that you're in his arms; relishing in the fact that, even if he's getting older, he'll still love you all the same, maybe even more so with your little gifts, gestures, smiles, and touches that are for him and him alone. kuroo couldn't ask for a better birthday gift than this, because you have always been the perfect gift for him, your love has already made him the happiest man in the world, from now until the very end.

Flufftober prompt 24: Game night (Ben Drowned)

list here god i missed listening to nightcore, playing some songs while i write this ueueueu take me back to middle school plsplsplspls i want to go back to being whimsical and making edgy ocs plot: you and ben play some games together and try to have fun! notes: platonic post, heavy on the hcs for the admin, ben is physically inside the console for most of the fic, reader is gn, you guys are playing minecraft because the admin doesnt have much gaming experience LMAO word count: 752 cws: none

"Did you raid my house?" You asked out loud as you looked through the chests in your house. They were all empty, picked through clean. Not a single item was left. You'd be less annoyed if some dirt or cobblestone were left behind, but Ben was thorough. A static cackle pulls itself from your computer speakers.

You don't respond. This was one of the more tame things he's done in the world, at least it didn't destroy anything. You were wise to start a new world instead of opening one of your older ones, you were sure if you had your work would be left in ruins. You were tempted to join a server with him to play games...

What all would he have been capable of there?

In a single player world he's already proven to be able to build anything he wanted- and destroy anything. Large craters and random block placements from him trying to spawn and contain something, or to try to bug you as you tried to run away.

You've sworn off playing alone with him when it's dark due to him playing a well placed noise while you were focused on exploring a cave. Something Ben still holds over your head, and pouts over when you refuse to play with him in the middle of the night.

A finger taps on the keyboard as you think over your options, you could go mine for the materials again if Ben doesn't give them back. Which he probably won't, he may have full access to the creative menu- something you had tried to prevent so the both of you could work together in survival, but trying to prevent a ghost hacking your game was virtually impossible.

You couldn't kick him, either, the game didn't register him as a second player. He was simply there.

Leaning back in your chair you look up at the ceiling.

"You make playing games with you difficult, man... you know that, right?" You glance at the screen as it flickers. The graphics warp and glitch, before flickering into a solid color as a pair of hands reach forward. They feel blindly in the air in front of you, before coming down to the edge of the desk and settling, soon a head peers out.

Ben doesn't pull himself entirely out of your computer, instead remaining in the current position he was in. One that did not look at all comfortable.

Static and crackling filled the air as he remained, his eyes narrowed.

Not angry, more so annoyed.

"It's not my fault you're boring, it's a sandbox game- you can do anything and you just follow building tutorials and mine," He frowns, sticking out his tongue at you.

"It's a sandbox game meaning I'm allowed to do whatever I want," You shoot back. He hisses in response.

"We can try to find something that's more your taste, there's got to be something..." You tap your foot on the ground. You'd have to wait until he retreats back into the computer or exits it. Assuming he would let you run it properly if he returns into it.

"Minecraft's nice, maybe you could put in some mods? Like the ones the people you watch have,"

You ponder for a moment.

"Like the horror ones?"

"Yeah like the horror ones, those ones!" He grins, fingers curling tighter around your desk.

You purse your lips, and stare at him. "Only if you play survival with me, no cheating. It's not fun if I'm the only one getting chased."

"For you, but I think it's funny."

You glare at him, and reach for your mouse. "Whatever... can you move out of the way so I can look for a couple to install?"

He nods, before backing into the screen. Suddenly, he pauses and looks at you intensely, red pupils staring right into your own eyes.

"Don't add too many dweller mods, I can't stand most of those." He hisses.

You nod, knowing full well that he would take control of the computer if he saw you installing a mod he didn't like the looks of... You make a vague mental note to get a better protections on your computer, Ben clicks on just about anything that catches his eye.

He finally fully returns to the screen, leaving you in silence in a now empty world. The sound of your player picking up multiple stacks of items at the same time makes you jolt.

Ben had given you back your things.

Ooo fun ask!

1 - So in general I'm just really happy with how the entire Separated AU developed throughout the year! I created it almost exactly a year ago now (the anniversary is on the december 26th btw, might have something planned for that). And I've mentioned it before but I really wasn't planning on developing into a proper story originally, I thought of the basic concept one day and thought it was neat so I just wanted to put it out there. So I made a SINGULAR post and that was all I initially planned to do, but then I came up with more and more ideas and before I knew it the AU got fucking SECOND PLACE IN THE TMNT AU COMPETETION!? HELLO?? Yeah turns out people like my silly little AU, to this day I'm constantly blown away with all the positivity I recieve from this fandom and it means the world to me ueueueu 😭💕

I've made quite a few TSAU comics over the year, but the first TSAU comic I made that was longer than just a page or so was the Cell Talk comic and it still holds a special place in my heart for that reason. (Also it's where the whole bit about TSAU!Leo being a huge Shadow fanboy originated from so that's awesome)

There's also a certain project I've participated in and made art for that I'm really excited to show you guys, but I'm not really supposed to talk about that yet so uhhhhhh 🤫 you guys are just gonna have to wait for that one lol. Either way, I'm proud of myself for being being part of that :D

2 - OKAY ENOUGH ABOUT ME, time to give some other people the spotlight!!

First of all, special shout out to anyone who has made fanart of my AU, I love love LOVE you so much!!! 💕

The art that the other participants of the tmnt fashion competition made was also absolutely amazing, that event was so fun!! Kat especially, she totally deserved that win her art was so good!

I've been a fan of the Empyrean Weeping AU by cupcakeslushie for a while now, but it's just been getting better and better, the recent comics for the AU have really been absolutely fantastic, I adore the art and story!!

I've been absolutely obsessed with The Canary Continuity fic series by qolden recently it's driving me insane. Donnie is one of my favorite characters ever which means that of course like any normal person I love seeing him suffer! :D I was actually a bit worried that the story was gonna be a bit too angsty for me when I read the tags, but turns out it was just the right amount angst for me, and also it's gonna get a happy ending which is great, so yeah I'm having an absolute blast reading it!

And the thought of you believing that he might not know you in another life felt like a knife twisting in his chest. Without thinking, he took a step closer to you, closing the distance between you once again.

His voice was quiet and intense as he spoke again, his eyes fixed on your face. "...If I had a choice, I would always choose you. Every time, in every lifetime."

see, that's where you're wrong buddy for context, my mc asked jinwoo to act like a 'real husband' for a month and then they can get a divorce. mc is in-love with jw, but with the rumours about him and cha hae-in, they thought it was time to let him go and find happiness, but not before being able to experience what it's like to be loved by our jw (see where i'm going with this? wink wonk)

He stood up from his seat abruptly, the chair screeching against the floor. He strode over to you in three swift steps, his hand shot out to grab your wrist, stopping you from leaving. His touch was firm, but there was a gentleness in it that you had felt before.

He looked at you, his eyes filled with an intense mix of emotions—desperation, frustration, helplessness, and...

...Fear.

as you should???

His grip on your wrist tightened just the slightest. "Don't go," he said quietly, his voice so low it was almost a whisper.

He didn't like that look on your face. The resigned, accepting expression you wore made him feel like you were preparing to give up on everything—on him, on this arranged relationship, on this whole situation.

He hated it.

our jw obviously said 'no' and we got into the whole 'I would choose you in any lifetime' which is a scam anways, this made me think of a story where our jw woke up in og!jw body (like that one side-story of antares taking over jw instead) and was surprised to see that he was married to cha hae-in ??? and they have son together ???? he tried his best to act like the og!jw while also trying to look for mc and her family which apparently doesn't exist ?? he was full on hyperventilating at this point bc where was his wife? its cha hae-in he wanted his wife! his wife is right there and everything just blurs around him and suddenly he's startled awake, crying and sweating as his wife looks over him worriedly. apparently he's running a fever ?? and just above him, there's a message from the system: '[Error resolved; everything is back to normal.]' and if you thought jw was yandere now, well... hoo boi back with og!jw for some reason, he can't look at cha hae-in not that one in the eye without being reminded of his other wife in that timeline and thinking of ways of how he can get back to said timeline and staring intensely as the system message changed from '[Error resolved; everything is back to normal.]' to '[Error resolved; everything is back to normal?]'

this got really long i'm sorry but I just wanted to show my appreciation for this au!s of yours 😭 spent the whole day bedrotting frfr

Kim dokja is the only character to consistently make me tear up (be it canon or a fanfic I AM WEAK)

Just mention something troubling him and ill be like 'noooooooooooooooOOOoo not again UEUEUEU' (knowing damn well this was what i was getting myself into from the start. Like please, kdj cannot have a break it, its as if its a part of his character to secretly be miserable while having everyone around him want nothing more than a genuine smile from him (and it is (basically texbook canon), really.))

Example: I've just read 10 long(ish? I like to read idk whats long anymore TT) chapters of yjh pov just hoping kdj would stop trying to shoulder everything alone, and would stop brushing away his care like it wasnt there.... Ending with yjh finally confronting him (basically in the form of a confession but yknow, theres more going on. it was kinda painful to watch, amen) and kdj just shuting him down like "youre mistaken about your feelings" AND LIKE. MANAGING TO SLIP OUT OF YKH'S LIFE IMMEDIATELY (he ran away #typical)

Now, i know damn well kdj has been hiding many things from yjh. Even yjh knows BUT I KNOW BETTER THAN YJH. BUT EVEN IF I KNOW BETTER, SINCE ITS YJH POV, IM AS IN THE DARK AS HE IS, SO. COOL. But i just know ill be able to fucking sympathise for the squid bastard because when have i ever been able to blame kdj for anything after learning about his side of things (bro is complicated in every universe, but i love him for it UGH)

All of this to say, when the author's note (after kdj fucking being dismissive and withdrawn and running away from #looove&peaace✌️) said "I can't wait to write KDJ's POV. If it crushes everyone, then it'll be a job well done," I GOT TEARY EYED JUST FROM ANTICIPATION. And i know from experience of reading (the)orv(™) and other fics that IF THIS IS WRITTEN WELL (and until now it's been written well enough to my liking /hopeful /pos), I WILL get all emotionnal really quickly and cry at the stupidest thing just because its kim dokja and he deserves the world.

So yeah, wish me luck 👍 (both so the fic keeps being good and for my poor soul..) ty
