What each Saw character would get as a Tesco meal deal (scientifically accurate)
Hello everyone, I decided as my debut long Saw shitpost, I thought I would decide what meal deals different Saw characters would opt for if they stumbled into a Tesco and were a bit peckish after setting up a few traps.
If youāre not from the U.K. or Ireland and are not familiar with the British & Irish institutions of a meal deal, itās basically a packaged sandwich, pasta pot, salad, bit of sushi maybe alongside a snack item and a drink for a fixed price (it used to be around Ā£3/ ā¬4 but the shops are taking the piss now). Meal deals are considered a treasured institution here and are an indication of your personality. People judge your character based on what you get between two slices of cheap bread.
Hereās what different Saw characters would get for a Tesco meal deal:
Adam (Faulkner) Stanheight
1. Southern fried chicken chipotle mayo sub
2. Doritos cheese flavour
3. Vimto still drink
Judging on how we know Adam is quite an unorganised adult struggling to adult most days, I would assume he opts for high energy foods to keep his tastebuds happy. Cheese, spiced chicken and fruity drinks seem up his street. Plus, Vimto is a very Mancunian thing and if Saw was set in the U.K., thereās no way Adam would not be from Manchester.
Dr Lawrence (Larry) Gordon
1. Eat Your Greens Feta Salad
2. Apple & Grape snack pot
3. Chilled Iced Latte
I feel like because Larry is a doctor, he prioritises convenience but also eats healthily. I also imagine him to be meat free/ vegetarian so that explains the feta & greens salad (I donāt think heād be vegan though, he seems like he loves proper cheese too much). Larry seems like heād always be carrying breath mints or tictacs to minimise the cheese or coffee breath- nobody needs a waft of that when being told theyāve got 6 months left to live.
Amanda Young
1. BLT sandwich
2. Walkers Thai Sweet Chilli Sensations Crisps
3. Monster Energy drink (chosen based on packaging colours to match mood)
Amanda is a busy lady planning traps and building contraptions designed to almost certainly kill people. She seems like she enjoys a bit of spice along with classic comfort combinations.
John Kramer
- Chicken & bacon sandwich
- Egg snack pot
- Green smoothie
John seems like heās mindful of what he puts into his body considering heās consistently a salt & vinegar crisp away from death with the cancer and all. Heās also a very smart man so he would know the best value for money combination with a meal deal is getting an overpriced fruit smoothie for a drink.
Mark Hoffman
- All Day Breakfast sandwich (triple)
- Walkers Max Salt & Vinegar crisps
- Red Bull
Mark seems like he canāt get enough of bacon & sausage, even though itās cold and not exactly very fresh. Maybe heād even have a bit of HP brown sauce with it. Mark would also probably make immature jibes towards vegans and vegetarians because heās that kind of man. Considering Mark works overtime setting up traps and evading capture, all heād be drinking by the events of Saw 7 would be energy drinks.
Jill Tuck
- Egg & Cress sandwich
- Arla strawberry protein yogurt
- Bottle of water
Jill is a bitā¦ bland. Iām sorry but I just have to say it. Egg & cress perfectly summarises Jillās personality as seen in movies 4-7 between two pieces of bread.
Peter Strahm
- Deli style cheese & pickle sandwich
- Smoked salmon sushi pack
- Pepsi Max
Strahm made some good decisions, some regrettable ones and one very very dumb decision during his time in the Saw universe. Just like his track record with making poor decisions, Iād guess Peter would get some supermarket sushi as a snack with his meal deal- not very fresh nor authentic and will leave you wondering why you couldnāt have got a pack of reliable crisps or a chocolate bar instead.
Lindsey Perez
- Feta & sundried tomato pasta
- Propercorn sweet & salty popcorn
- Fanta orange
Perez is a great character and so she would get a meal deal to reflect that. Why do I also imagine Lindsey being veggie?
Eric Matthews
- Meatball marinara sub
- Walkers Monster Munch Pickled Onion crisps
- Red Bull
I feel like this choice accurately reflects Eric. Itās a combination thatās maybe reflective of an immature palette, maybe even a sort of guilty pleasure combination. I wonder if heād put the monster munch hands (or feet) on his fingers and eat them like that.
Hope you enjoyed my incredibly British saw shitpost x

Tw: goth and punk culture, mentions of religion, kissing, couples doing couple stuff.
A/N: I needed to refresh my memory on some things, so I looked up like two things. I hope you like this.
Masterlist
You're a Spider woman from Earth- 666 (See what I did there), just like every Spider Man and Woman, you got bitten by a radioactive spider and you had then become Spider Woman, also known as Spider Goth.
Even before you were a Spider Woman, you were a Goth, since you were younger, you had a huge interest in the Goth culture and now you were a full goth, plus Spider Woman.
Not long after, you were a part of the Spider Society, you were invited in by Miguel and that's how you met your boyfriend, Spider Punk, also known as Hobert/Hobie Brown.
Hobie already had an interest in you as soon as he saw you, in your Spider Goth suit, also when he heard your name 'Spider Goth' it was obvious to him that you were a goth in and out of your suit.
He had heard of Goths and how they were somewhat similar to Punks. You and Hobie got a long from the start, then you both began to date. You dated in secret since you didn't like that much attention. Specially being from two different universes and stuff.
You and your boyfriend share a lot in common, you both liked music, dark aesthetic and had almost the same beliefs.
Since you wear makeup under your mask, Hobie is impressed by it. He likes how your makeup goes against beauty standards. He liked how different it is.
If you want to experiment on him, he'll let you, what he really liked is when you apply eyeliner on his waterline and proceed to make the pencil liner messy around his eye. He also wouldn't mind wearing black lipstick.
Also, if one of your favorite colors is Pink or any kind of soft color, Hobie isn't the kind of person to tell you that 'You're not a real Goth' for liking pink, he knows that being a goth/punk is more than just style. If anyone tells that you're not a goth for liking pink or any other non dark color. They're getting their ass chewed by him. (Also, If you're a goth who liked pink, you're still a goth :) )
He is a fan of your hair, if you have a tendency to dye it and style it. He has seen the many times you had changed your hair color and how you'd style it. If you want to cute your hair or try a new look, he'd help you.
You both have similar music tastes, but also share other kinds of music with one another. You really got him into The Cure, Joy Division and Los Prisioneros. Hobie got you into Sex Pistols, The Clash, and U.K. Subs. You and him had made a mixtape together in which you listen for hours and hours.
One thing that Hobie noticed was how you'd wear a Rosary and an Ankh. When he asked about it, you explained that the rosary represents the rejection of conservatism and is a way to mock the fakeness of religion (I think). As for the Ankh, you told him what the symbol means. Which means the Symbol of Life. You also wore them because they looked cool to wear.
When you both have nothing to do at Headquarters, you'll both go to an under ground Goth Club from your universe. Hobie has been to goth clubs before back in his universe, but he seems to like the clubs he goes with you. That's were he met your other goth friends.
Since you're both a private couple, you're not a fan of PDA, so you do that lovy dovy stuff alone together. You'll give each other looks and hold each other's pinkies in public, but in private, you'll be smooching and cuddling for hours.
When it comes to a mission, if you get hurt or nearly die, Hobie is worried AF. He doesn't care if you both are being watched by the others, he'll pull you into a tight hug and asks if you're okay. He could not lose you too, he had already began to love you more than anything.

Plant of the Day
Friday 4 October 2024
At the Deerness Distillery, Orkney, I discovered that their award-winning signature Sea Glass Gin included a range of botanicals including Aloysia citrodora (lemon verbena, cidron, herb Louisa, lemon plant, limonetto, sweet-scented verbena, verbena oil plant). This is a deciduous sub-shrub with narrow, lemon-scented leaves and open panicles of tiny white flowers. The plant thrives in a Polycrub on Orkney and is on the edge of hardy in the milder areas of the U.K.

PIC INFO: Spotlight on London-based punk rock band, UK SUBS, backstage during their performance on 'Top Of The Pops," c. 1981.
Seriously though, is it even debatable that DISCHARGE had THE most ubiquitous T-shirt design of that entire '80s punk/ hardcore/ underground scene? No, I didn't think so.
Dis nightmare still @$!%*#& continues!!

Excerpt from this story from National Geographic:
Ship collisions with theĀ worldās rarest whales have garnered global attention. But until recently, scientists didnāt realize these same vessels are likely killingĀ whale sharks, anĀ endangered speciesĀ and the worldās largest fish.
In a new study, over 75 researchers came together to quantify the threat shipping may pose toĀ whale sharks, which live in warm tropical and sub-tropical waters around the world, including the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans.
The scientists mapped whale shark aggregation hot spotsāknown asĀ constellationsĀ because of the sharksā star-like patterns across their backsāin 26 countries and overlaid them with information on the positions of large ships, provided byĀ Global Fishing Watch, a nonprofit that uses technology to increase transparency around how our oceans are used and managed.
They found the sharks were most in danger in heavily trafficked regions of Ecuador, Mexico, Malaysia, the Philippines, Oman, Seychelles, and Taiwan. While itās unknown how many sharks are dying, their proximity to so much shipping activity suggests the burden is high, says lead authorĀ Freya Womersley, a researcher at theĀ Marine Research and Conservation FoundationĀ and the University of Southampton in the U.K.
Whales, such asĀ right whales, stay near the surface to breathe air, making them particularly vulnerable to hitting ships. Although whale sharks, which often reach 32 feet long, donāt need to come up to breathe, they spend around half their time cruising at the surface feeding on plankton.
āThe data the study pulled together from tagging whales sharks all over the world just shows how much time they're spending in that high-risk zone,ā saysĀ Michael Heithaus, a shark ecologist at Florida International University who was not involved in the study, published in May in the journalĀ Science of the Total Environment.
As shipping increases globally, these experts say itās vital to act now to protect sharks: There are more than 100,000 ships moving goods worldwide, andĀ the number could grow by as much as 1,200 percent by 2050.

you have probably been asked this a billion times already, but do you have any punk music recs? I feel I do a search myself I get more watered down stuff.
Yeah! My favorite punk punk band is Pure Hell, I fucking love their stuff, my favorite album is noise addiction (idc if people say that's basic it's a good album lol) and also Streetlight Manifesto if you want something a little more funky. SLM is technically a ska punk band. I love ska punk but it's def not for everybody. if you do wanna listen I recommend their album The Hands That Thieve or Everything Goes Numb
Those are my favorites. But the 70's-80's (Don't jump down my throat I'm listing these off the top of my head) classics are bands like the Misfits, Green Day, Joy Division, Rancid, The Descendents, NOFX, The Romones etc. I can't vouch for the behavior of a lot of these bands and the artists in them, pretty much all of them have a history of being racist/ok with Nazis/bigoted in general so take with that what you will, these are just the bands that most people seem to agree are punk rock.
There's like three different generalized eras in punk, you've got proto-punk (60's-70's) (the stooges, the pink faeries etc) which were garage bands that played stuff that kind of hinted at punk before it became commercially recognized, there's early punk (early 70's) which was when punk started gaining momentum, then you've punk rock (80's- late 90's-arguably present day) and after that a whole bunch of sub-genres popped up and mixed together an all that. That being said I'm not a music historian and this is all very generalized information that I've heard and gotten from the internet. This is also focused on the U.S and the U.K. I hope this is somewhat educational, as always do your own research and all that, rock on!
