Chapter 13: Florida Tour
youtube
(Now, at Air Force Fun Helicopter Tours, Marinette boards a waiting helicopter.)
TOUR GUIDE: Good afternoon, Miss Dupain-Cheng. Welcome to Air Force Fun Helicopter Tours. I hope you’re ready for extravagant sights of some of Florida’s greatest tourist attractions.
(The helicopter lifts off. They leave the plaza and pass the Premium Outlets.)
TOUR GUIDE: To our left is the Orlando International Premium Outlets, an outdoor outlet mall. It used to be called Prime Outlets-Orlando.
(Later, Marinette sees Aerophile - The World Leader in Balloon Flight.)
TOUR GUIDE: First is Disney Springs, an outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment complex at the Walt Disney World Resort. First opened in 1975 as Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village, it has been expanded and rebranded over the years as Walt Disney World Village in 1977, Disney Village Marketplace in 1989, and Downtown Disney in 1997, finally becoming Disney Springs in 2015.
(Over Bonnet Creek)
TOUR GUIDE: Over there is Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, one of two operating water parks at the resort. The second water park to open at the resort, preceded by Disney’s River Country, which closed in November 2001. The park is home to one of the world’s largest outdoor wave pools where it is even possible to bodysurf. The theme of the park is the “Disney legend” of a typhoon that wreaked havoc upon a formerly pristine tropical paradise. Ships, fishing gear, and surfboards are strewn about where the storm flung them. Its centerpiece is “Miss Tilly”, a shrimp boat impaled upon a mountain named “Mount Mayday” that erupts a 50-foot geyser of water every half hour, right before the bells of the watch sound on it. Its mascot is “Lagoona Gator”.
(Marinette gawks as they pass the Surf Pool. Later, she points out another attraction.)
MARINETTE: Ooh, that big ball looks epic.
TOUR GUIDE: That’s Epcot. Often referred to as a “permanent world’s fair”, Epcot is dedicated to the celebration of human achievement, particularly technological innovation and international culture. During early development of the Florida property, Walt Disney wanted to build an experimental planned community showcasing modern innovation, known as Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, or “EPCOT”. Epcot remains a popular destination, with Spaceship Earth, a geodesic sphere, serving as its iconic landmark.
(They fly over Fantasmic!)
TOUR GUIDE: Here is Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Originally named the Disney–MGM Studios Theme Park, it was the third of four theme parks built at Walt Disney World. Spanning 135 acres, the park is themed to an idealized version of Hollywood, California, and is dedicated to the imagined worlds from film, television, music, and theatre, drawing inspiration from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
youtube
TOUR GUIDE: Pandora - The World of Avatar is a themed area inspired by the Avatar franchise created by James Cameron. Set a generation after the events of the Avatar films, the area is based upon the fictional habitable exomoon, Pandora, and features Pandora’s floating mountains, alien wildlife, and bioluminescent plants. Spanning 12 acres, it includes two major attractions, Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey, as well as retail and dining outlets.
youtube
(They fly over DINOSAUR and Dino-Rama.)
TOUR GUIDE: Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a zoological theme park. Owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its Experiences division, it is the largest theme park in the world, covering 580 acres. The park was the fourth theme park built at the resort. It’s dedicated and themed around natural environment and animal conservation, a philosophy once pioneered by Walt Disney.
(Later, Marinette gawks at the Magic Kingdom’s immense parking lot.)
TOUR GUIDE: As we approach the Magic Kingdom, feel free to take in the gorgeous greenery that covers most of the state.
(They circle around the Partner’s Statue of Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney.)
TOUR GUIDE: Here is Magic Kingdom Park. It is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its Experiences division. The official park name has changed slightly over the years, from Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom from 1971 to 1994 and The Magic Kingdom from 1994 to 2017. The park was initialized by Walt Disney and designed by WED Enterprises. The park layout and attractions were based on Disneyland in Anaheim, California, and are dedicated to fairy tales and Disney characters.
(Marinette watches as they pass Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Later, they fly over the Sky Tower outside Seaport Theater and Voyager’s Smokehouse.)
TOUR GUIDE: SeaWorld is an animal theme park. Although separately gated, it is often promoted with neighboring parks Discovery Cove and Aquatica as well as Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, all of which are owned and operated by United Parks & Resorts. Across the street is Aquatica, its sister park. The park is themed to the southern Pacific and features Australian and New Zealand based mascots. The park features a wide array of attractions for all ages and swimming abilities, some of which pass by or through animal habitats, and has two wave pools which share an extensive, 80,000-square-foot man made white-sand beach area equipped with deck chairs, sun beds, and umbrellas.
(Marinette gawks at the beach near Big Surf Shores and Cutback Cove. Later, the tour guide lands at Air Force Fun.)
TOUR GUIDE: And that concludes the tour of the city’s most popular attractions. Feel free to leave a review on Yelp.
MARINETTE: I will. Thanks.

Being in Disneyland was always a fun time. And always brought back memories. She couldn't deny that she owed them a lot. Her career was kickstarted because of them. And the fact that they had ended up rooming together was weird but at the same time felt like a sign or something to get reacquainted as friends over ten years later. And honestly she was done playing the whole avoidance game "Oh I'm definitely getting in the water. Can never resist a pool or a beach" she said with a shrug. At what he said next she nodded agreeing with him. She was an outdoors person through and through. That's also why she loved road trips as much as she did. "I mean Mayday Falls is the must do for sure. And the longest ride so you get that out of the way and then go to the rest. At least that's how I'd play it. And if you still surf you should definitely go for the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool" she suggested.
These days all Zac ended up doing was flirting and allowing this to happen, but he was just living his single life. On this trip, the last thing he was planning was to just bring someone and hook up, even if it was implied to, it just wasn't for him. He wanted to enjoy the time, and if given the chance maybe use it to work more on time with friends, former co-stars and his connection with Vanessa - as much as she'd let him. He'd never want to push or over step.
"You do. Is that a plan as well or just the sun for now?" he asked curiously, grinning. "Yeah, tell me about it," he chuckled some. "It is and I guess it's why we love it so much." He was quite the water lover, nature lover and just enjoyed being outside. Zac was sat at the edge of the chair, hands together, focus on Vanessa. "Ah, okay. Yeah, same here. I'm not even sure what ride I'd want to go on yet even."

Disney World Rides: You Must Be This Tall...
Since we have two small kids I get very, very annoyed every time I try to figure out what rides they can or cannot ride. The Disney website does list them out...by themepark. All heights and restrictions jumbled together. So you really have to hunt and peck to figure out what rides are where and what heights (there are at least 5 of them!) are for what and where in the parks that is.

Siargao Island – 2022
Siargao – 2022
And so, we went to Siargao as my Birthday Vacation Trip last July 9 until July 13, 2022.
Requirements:
So far not much of a requirement was asked from us for this trip which came as a surprise to me since I was really anticipating the same requirements, we have in our Boracay Trip.
So far below is what we have prepared and submitted:
Confirmed airline and accommodation
Vaccination Card submitted to the hotel
Accommodation:
It was hard for us to choose an accommodation because there was a lot of good options online, good thing we have talked about the kind of inclusions both of us wants which made our choosing duties easier LOL
We wanted to have that breathe taking aesthetic, a pool and close to the most tourist locations in Siargao.
And so, we ended with Las Palmas Villas and Casitas, as they have the things, we were looking for in terms of the kind of accommodation we want for our Siargao Trip.
You may check them out on this link - https://laspalmassiargao.com
Budget:
Las Palmas Accommodation – We were able to book it thru an app which is around 4k PHP a night with breakfast inclusion
Pocket Money – About 20k PHP since we wanted to have a no hold bar vacation trip but if you are in a budget, I would say less than 10k would do
Itinerary and Experience:
We landed in Sayak Airport at around past 12pm in the afternoon, we did not book any airport to hotel transfer so we had to improvise.
We asked around the airport where the public transportation terminal would be and have managed to get a semi private van transfer to our hotel for 600php per head, I know it’s a bit pricey but it’s a door-to-door transportation plus the travel time from the airport was about 30min to an hour so I would say it’s a good deal already.
Upon arriving at Las Palmas, we were greeted with a welcome drink and the nice view of the place.
The receptionist handed us over a tour package list in case we wanted to take advantage since to be honest we have no prior plans at all LOL
And so, this is how our Itinerary looked like:
1st day –
Rest in the hotel upon arriving
Dinner at a nearby resto
Sleep
2nd day –
Woke up early for our Land Tour Package
Land Tour Package Inclusion:
Free Van usage
Magpupungko Rock Pool
Sugba Lagoon
Maasin River
Coconut Plantation sight seeing
Hidden River
Free Lunch
Came back to our hotel at around 5pm
Dinner at a nearby eatery
Sleep
3rd day –
Woke up early for our Island Tour Package
Island Tour Package Inclusion:
Free Transportation going to the port near the public market
Daku Island
Naked Island
Guyam Island
Snorkeling Time
Free Lunch
Came back to our hotel at around 4 or 5pm
Quick snack at Kermit Resto
Dinner at Harana Surf Resto
Sleep
4th day –
Breakfast at the hotel
Quick tour at cloud nine surfing area
Quick bite at Shaka Café
Last minute strolling and pasalubong buying
Check out
Back in Manila at around 6 or 7pm
Note that on our second day we decided to rent a scooter which was so much fun as we were able to stroll around the area with ease and less hassle.
Siargao is still not at its 100% since the hit of the last Typhoon but slowly and surely, they are recovering already from it, as a tourist you just have to set your expectation especially those who have been on the Island post Typhoon Event.
I really enjoyed the vibes on the Island just like what most people have been saying about the place, the chill, relaxed vibes far from the stressful and fast pace environment we all are accustomed to in the metro.
Given a chance I would love to spend a longer say in the Island and who knows might decide to stay there for good LOL

Typhoon Lagoon had a super fun wave! The wave definitely felt different than the traditional ocean waves. Freshwater is less buoyant than salt so if you ever go, bring a board with a little more foam and that is a little wider if you have one. 🏄♂️ (at Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf16WXFp3AO/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Best Water Parks In The USA
Summer might be the favorite season of many people, but no one can deny they we all look for a way to beat the heat during this season. And an excellent way to do that is to go to the different water parks in USA. You might think as an outdoor activity, a water park is relatively tame. But water parks these days are anything but. These amazing parks are bound to take your breath away, full of terrifying drops and crazily looped slides.
One of the best water parks in the USA is the Six Flags White Water in Marietta, with a humongous collection of slides and pools. Their ride Typhoon Twister is a toilet bowl-like swirl and along with the Atlanta Ocean Wave pool, this park is bound to leave in awe. The Typhoon Lagoon in Orlando, Florida is also another fine example of the excellent water parks America has to offer. Their enormous surf pool is the largest one in North America, with 6ft swells and smaller bobbing waves popping up all day. Wild Rivers in Orange County is also an amazing water park to go to when you are in southern California. With its 20 exciting water slides and attractions, you will have your blood pumping throughout the day.
Thus, if you were to go on a holiday during the summer, you couldn’t choose wrongly among these water parks in USA. Make sure you pack extra towels, and sunscreen and set off on an adventure of a lifetime, along with your family.

🏄♀️ Typhoon Lagoon reopens today! 🏖 This waterpark is home to one of the world's largest outdoor wave pools. In fact, you can even ride the wild surf in a private session for an additional fee. Have you heard the story behind Typhoon Lagoon? The Disney "legend" says a typhoon wreaked havoc upon a formerly pristine tropical paradise. Ships, fishing gear, and surfboards are strewn about where the storm flung them. The centerpiece of the park is "Miss Tilly," a shrimp boat impaled upon a mountain named "Mount Mayday" that erupts a 50-foot (15 m) geyser of water every half hour, right before the bells of the watch sound on it. Who here has braved Typhoon Lagoon? The lazy river is my favorite! #waltdisneyworld #familytravel #familyvacation #wdw #disneyworld #typhoonlagoon #waterpark #travel #adventure #wdw50 #funinthesun #wavepool — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/3mSue9p

Sublime
Victor visits many beautiful places to help with his depression throughout the story. The novel beginning in ice relates to the desolation and sadness that the monster feels from Victor by not being accepted. It is relevant to the story by beginning in ice; foreshadowing how the story will change from a normal life of a man who loves science, to a more sinister group of events. Sublime nature also makes itself known when Victor is creating the monster which would be a spine-chilling discovery for the common man, but Victor finds a drive or want to in exploring the unknown. Personally I do believe in sublime nature in accordance with my experiences in the real world. An excellent example of sublime nature can be discovered within a zoo.
The animals portray beautiful physical features as well as extreme amounts of intelligence, but in the same perspective I have mixed feelings ascribable to their condition; trapped in cages for their whole life unable to live in the wild. During my time at Walt Disney World I experienced sublime nature while I was at the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool. The waves at this pool were particularly scary; though I enjoyed being tossed around in the violent water.
