My heart goes out to Ty Olsonn

He's come out as gay and I can already tell the backlash he will be getting.

He presents as very hyper masculine in a male dominant society, his character Benny is everything every cis straight males ideal version of what a man looks like, he's as wide as a door and built like a great oak tree and he looks like he's a lumber jack.

And now he's in love with a man and seeing someone they thought of as " one of them" is now just a F**** queer, conservative mother's will ban their children from watching dragon tales because the voice of the dragon is voiced by a gay man

Men who identified as Benny who watch supernatural will rant about it on their podcasts

He has the strength to come out and be who he truly is regardless of the backlash I'm sure he knew he'd get

I think my favourite thing about the DJ Qualls/Ty Olsson engagement announcement/reactions is the way they have been obviously and openly in a relationship for years and yet I have literally never seen any of the tweets or interview answers all y'all are screencaping and posting until now. XD

May 16-20, 2024 - DJ Qualls and Ty Olsson are getting married!

DJ Qualls (Garth in Supernatural), was recently in a podcast "Locked and Probably Loaded with DJ and Kelly" (YouTube link & Spotify link) discussing his experience with Supernatural and his friendships with various cast members. He also talked about his relationship with Ty Olsson (Benny and Eli in Supernatural) and mentioned that they were getting married (quote above).

On the podcast, DJ talked about how he'd initially declined the offer to play Garth and it took a bit to convince him. And he ended up finding some of the most amazing friends and his future husband.

cw's walker cancelled: fans rejoiced upon hearing the cancellation news for jared's post-supernatural show, walker, a remake of "walker texas ranger." in addition to generally being a copaganda show for the notoriously racist texas rangers, jared's inspiration for the show's direction caused much concern. the actor himself said the show was inspired by the US border crisis, not by the immigrant families affected by the separation and internment, but instead wanting exploring the POV of the law enforcement agents working at the border and the moral dilemmas they had to face (x)

pro-kamala castiel: in a last-ditch effort to get out the vote, misha uses the power of castiel photo ops to campaign for harris-walz and even shouts-out destiel. I feel depressed writing this sentence, if you've made it this long in your read and you're in the states I hope you're doing alright! maybe by the time I wake up things will be a little different though.
